ܒܗܘ ܕܝܢ ܙܒܢܐ ܐܬܘ ܐܢܫܝܢ ܐܡܪܘ ܠܗ ܥܠ ܓܠܝܠܝܐ ܗܢܘܢ ܕܦܝܠܛܘܣ ܚܠܛ ܕܡܗܘܢ ܥܡ ܕܒܚܝܗܘܢ

Now there were some present at the same time who told him about the Galileans, whose blood Pilate had mixed with their sacrifices.

ܘܥܢܐ ܝܫܘܥ ܘܐܡܪ ܠܗܘܢ ܣܒܪܝܢ ܐܢܬܘܢ ܕܗܠܝܢ ܓܠܝܠܝܐ ܚܛܝܝܢ ܗܘܘ ܝܬܝܪ ܡܢ ܟܠܗܘܢ ܓܠܝܠܝܐ ܕܗܟܢܐ ܗܘܐ ܐܢܘܢ
'nwn hw' dhkn' glyly' klhwn mn ythyr hww khTyyn glyly' dhlyn 'nthwn sbryn lhwn w'mr yshwe wen'
Jesus answered them, “Do you think that these Galileans were worse sinners than all the other Galileans, because they suffered such things?

ܠܐ ܐܡܪ ܐܢܐ ܠܟܘܢ ܕܝܢ ܕܐܦ ܟܠܟܘܢ ܐܠܐ ܬܬܘܒܘܢ ܗܟܢܐ ܬܐܒܕܘܢ

I tell you, no, but unless you repent, you will all perish in the same way.

ܐܘ ܗܢܘܢ ܬܡܢܬܥܣܪ ܕܢܦܠ ܥܠܝܗܘܢ ܡܓܕܠܐ ܒܫܝܠܘܚܐ ܘܩܛܠ ܐܢܘܢ ܣܒܪܝܢ ܐܢܬܘܢ ܕܚܛܝܝܢ ܗܘܘ ܝܬܝܪ ܡܢ ܟܠܗܘܢ ܒܢܝܢܫܐ ܕܥܡܪܝܢ ܒܐܘܪܫܠܡ
b'wrshlm demryn bnynsh' klhwn mn ythyr hww dkhTyyn 'nthwn sbryn 'nwn wqTl bshylwkh' mgdl' elyhwn dnpl thmnthesr hnwn 'w
Or those eighteen, on whom the tower in Siloam fell, and killed them; do you think that they were worse offenders than all the men who dwell in Jerusalem?

ܠܐ ܐܡܪ ܐܢܐ ܠܟܘܢ ܕܝܢ ܕܐܠܐ ܬܬܘܒܘܢ ܟܠܟܘܢ ܐܟܘܬܗܘܢ ܬܐܒܕܘܢ

I tell you, no, but, unless you repent, you will all perish in the same way.”

ܘܐܡܪ ܡܬܠܐ ܗܢܐ ܬܬܐ ܐܝܬ ܗܘܬ ܠܐܢܫ ܕܢܨܝܒܐ ܒܟܪܡܗ ܘܐܬܐ ܒܥܐ ܒܗ ܦܐܪܐ ܘܠܐ ܐܫܟܚ

He spoke this parable. “A certain man had a fig tree planted in his vineyard, and he came seeking fruit on it, and found none.

ܘܐܡܪ ܠܦܠܚܐ ܗܐ ܬܠܬ ܫܢܝܢ ܐܬܐ ܐܢܐ ܒܥܐ ܐܢܐ ܦܐܪܐ ܒܬܬܐ ܗܕܐ ܘܠܐ ܡܫܟܚ ܐܢܐ ܦܣܘܩܝܗ ܠܡܢܐ ܡܒܛܠܐ ܐܪܥܐ

He said to the vine dresser, ‘Behold, these three years I have come looking for fruit on this fig tree, and found none. Cut it down. Why does it waste the soil?’

ܐܡܪ ܠܗ ܦܠܚܐ ܡܪܝ ܫܒܘܩܝܗ ܐܦ ܗܕܐ ܫܢܬܐ ܥܕ ܐܦܠܚܝܗ ܘܐܙܒܠܝܗ
w'zblyh 'plkhyh ed shnth' hd' 'p shbwqyh mry plkh' lh 'mr
He answered, ‘Lord, leave it alone this year also, until I dig around it, and fertilize it.

ܘܐܢ ܥܒܕܬ ܦܐܪܐ ܘܐܠܐ ܠܡܢܚܝ ܬܦܣܩܝܗ
thpsqyh lmnkhy w'l' p'r' ebdth w'n
If it bears fruit, fine; but if not, after that, you can cut it down.’”

ܟܕ ܕܝܢ ܡܠܦ ܝܫܘܥ ܒܫܒܬܐ ܒܚܕܐ ܡܢ ܟܢܘܫܬܐ

He was teaching in one of the synagogues on the Sabbath day.

ܐܝܬ ܗܘܬ ܬܡܢ ܐܢܬܬܐ ܕܐܝܬ ܗܘܬ ܠܗ ܪܘܚܐ ܕܟܘܪܗܢܐ ܫܢܝܢ ܬܡܢܥܣܪܐ ܘܟܦܝܦܐ ܗܘܬ ܘܠܐ ܡܫܟܚܐ ܗܘܬ ܕܬܬܦܫܛ ܠܓܡܪ

Behold, there was a woman who had a spirit of infirmity eighteen years, and she was bent over, and could in no way straighten herself up.

ܚܙܗ ܕܝܢ ܝܫܘܥ ܘܩܪܗ ܘܐܡܪ ܠܗ ܐܢܬܬܐ ܫܪܝܬܝ ܡܢ ܟܘܪܗܢܟܝ

When Jesus saw her, he called her, and said to her, “Woman, you are freed from your infirmity.”

ܘܣܡ ܐܝܕܗ ܥܠܝܗ ܘܡܚܕܐ ܐܬܦܫܛܬ ܘܫܒܚܬ ܠܐܠܗܐ

He laid his hands on her, and immediately she stood up straight, and glorified God.

ܥܢܐ ܕܝܢ ܪܒ ܟܢܘܫܬܐ ܟܕ ܡܬܚܡܬ ܥܠ ܕܐܣܝ ܒܫܒܬܐ ܝܫܘܥ ܘܐܡܪ ܠܟܢܫܐ ܫܬܐ ܐܢܘܢ ܝܘܡܝܢ ܕܒܗܘܢ ܘܠܐ ܠܡܦܠܚ ܒܗܘܢ ܗܘܝܬܘܢ ܐܬܝܢ ܡܬܐܣܝܢ ܘܠܐ ܒܝܘܡܐ ܕܫܒܬܐ

The ruler of the synagogue, being indignant because Jesus had healed on the Sabbath, said to the multitude, “There are six days in which men ought to work. Therefore come on those days and be healed, and not on the Sabbath day!”

ܝܫܘܥ ܕܝܢ ܥܢܐ ܘܐܡܪ ܠܗ ܢܣܒ ܒܐܦܐ ܚܕ ܚܕ ܡܢܟܘܢ ܒܫܒܬܐ ܠܐ ܫܪܐ ܬܘܪܗ ܐܘ ܚܡܪܗ ܡܢ ܐܘܪܝܐ ܘܐܙܠ ܡܫܩܐ
mshq' w'zl 'wry' mn khmrh 'w thwrh shr' l' bshbth' mnkwn khd khd b'p' nsb lh w'mr en' dyn yshwe
Therefore the Lord answered him, “You hypocrites! Doesn’t each one of you free his ox or his donkey from the stall on the Sabbath, and lead him away to water?

ܗܕܐ ܕܝܢ ܕܒܪܬܗ ܗܝ ܕܐܒܪܗܡ ܘܐܣܪܗ ܐܟܠܩܪܨܐ ܗܐ ܬܡܢܥܣܪܐ ܫܢܝܢ ܠܐ ܘܠܐ ܗܘܐ ܕܬܫܬܪܐ ܡܢ ܗܢܐ ܐܣܘܪܝܐ ܒܝܘܡܐ ܕܫܒܬܐ
dshbth' bywm' 'swry' hn' mn dthshthr' hw' wl' l' shnyn thmnesr' h' 'klqrts' w'srh d'brhm hy dbrthh dyn hd'
Ought not this woman, being a daughter of Abraham, whom Satan had bound eighteen long years, be freed from this bondage on the Sabbath day?”

ܘܟܕ ܗܠܝܢ ܐܡܪ ܗܘܐ ܒܗܬܝܢ ܗܘܘ ܟܠܗܘܢ ܐܝܠܝܢ ܕܩܝܡܝܢ ܗܘܘ ܠܩܘܒܠܗ ܘܟܠܗ ܥܡܐ ܚܕܐ ܗܘܐ ܒܟܠܗܝܢ ܬܡܝܗܬܐ ܕܗܘܝܢ ܗܘܝ ܒܐܝܕܗ
b'ydh hwy dhwyn thmyhth' bklhyn hw' khd' em' wklh lqwblh hww dqymyn 'ylyn klhwn hww bhthyn hw' 'mr hlyn wkd
As he said these things, all his adversaries were disappointed, and all the multitude rejoiced for all the glorious things that were done by him.

ܐܡܪ ܗܘܐ ܕܝܢ ܝܫܘܥ ܠܡܢܐ ܕܡܝܐ ܡܠܟܘܬܐ ܕܐܠܗܐ ܘܠܡܢܐ ܐܕܡܝܗ
'dmyh wlmn' d'lh' mlkwth' dmy' lmn' yshwe dyn hw' 'mr
He said, “What is God’s Kingdom like? To what shall I compare it?

ܕܡܝܐ ܠܦܪܕܬܐ ܕܚܪܕܠܐ ܗܝ ܕܢܣܒ ܓܒܪܐ ܐܪܡܝܗ ܒܓܢܬܗ ܘܪܒܬ ܘܗܘܬ ܐܝܠܢܐ ܪܒܐ ܘܦܪܚܬܐ ܕܫܡܝܐ ܐܩܢܬ ܒܣܘܟܝܗ
bswkyh 'qnth dshmy' wprkhth' rb' 'yln' whwth wrbth bgnthh 'rmyh gbr' dnsb hy dkhrdl' lprdth' dmy'
It is like a grain of mustard seed, which a man took, and put in his own garden. It grew, and became a large tree, and the birds of the sky live in its branches.”

ܬܘܒ ܐܡܪ ܝܫܘܥ ܠܡܢܐ ܐܕܡܝܗ ܠܡܠܟܘܬܐ ܕܐܠܗܐ

Again he said, “To what shall I compare God’s Kingdom?

ܕܡܝܐ ܠܚܡܝܪܐ ܕܢܣܒܬ ܐܢܬܬܐ ܛܡܪܬ ܒܩܡܚܐ ܕܬܠܬ ܣܐܝܢ ܥܕܡܐ ܕܟܠܗ ܚܡܥ
khme dklh edm' s'yn dthlth bqmkh' Tmrth 'nthth' dnsbth lkhmyr' dmy'
It is like yeast, which a woman took and hid in three measures of flour, until it was all leavened.”

ܘܪܕܐ ܗܘܐ ܒܩܘܪܝܐ ܘܒܡܕܝܢܬܐ ܟܕ ܡܠܦ ܘܐܙܠ ܠܐܘܪܫܠܡ

He went on his way through cities and villages, teaching, and traveling on to Jerusalem.

ܫܐܠܗ ܕܝܢ ܐܢܫ ܕܐܢ ܙܥܘܪܝܢ ܐܢܘܢ ܐܝܠܝܢ ܕܚܐܝܢ

One said to him, “Lord, are they few who are saved?” He said to them,

ܝܫܘܥ ܕܝܢ ܐܡܪ ܠܗܘܢ ܐܬܟܬܫܘ ܠܡܥܠ ܒܬܪܥܐ ܐܠܝܨܐ ܐܡܪ ܐܢܐ ܠܟܘܢ ܓܝܪ ܕܣܓܝܐܐ ܢܒܥܘܢ ܠܡܥܠ ܘܠܐ ܢܫܟܚܘܢ
nshkkhwn wl' lmel nbewn dsgy'' gyr lkwn 'n' 'mr 'lyts' bthre' lmel 'thkthshw lhwn 'mr dyn yshwe
“Strive to enter in by the narrow door, for many, I tell you, will seek to enter in, and will not be able.

ܡܢ ܫܥܬܐ ܕܢܩܘܡ ܡܪܐ ܒܝܬܐ ܘܢܐܚܘܕ ܬܪܥܐ ܘܬܗܘܘܢ ܩܝܡܝܢ ܠܒܪ ܘܢܩܫܝܢ ܒܬܪܥܐ ܘܬܫܪܘܢ ܠܡܐܡܪ ܡܪܢ ܡܪܢ ܦܬܚ ܠܢ ܘܢܥܢܐ ܗܘ ܘܢܐܡܪ ܐܡܪ ܐܢܐ ܠܟܘܢ ܕܠܐ ܝܕܥ ܐܢܐ ܠܟܘܢ ܐܝܡܟܐ ܐܢܬܘܢ
'nthwn 'ymk' lkwn 'n' yde dl' lkwn 'n' 'mr wn'mr hw wnen' ln pthkh mrn mrn lm'mr wthshrwn bthre' wnqshyn lbr qymyn wthhwwn thre' wn'khwd byth' mr' dnqwm sheth' mn
When once the master of the house has risen up, and has shut the door, and you begin to stand outside, and to knock at the door, saying, ‘Lord, Lord, open to us!’ then he will answer and tell you, ‘I don’t know you or where you come from.’

ܘܬܫܪܘܢ ܠܡܐܡܪ ܩܕܡܝܟ ܐܟܠܢ ܘܐܫܬܝܢ ܘܒܫܘܩܝܢ ܐܠܦܬ
'lpth wbshwqyn w'shthyn 'kln qdmyk lm'mr wthshrwn
Then you will begin to say, ‘We ate and drank in your presence, and you taught in our streets.’

ܘܢܐܡܪ ܠܟܘܢ ܕܠܐ ܝܕܥ ܐܢܐ ܠܟܘܢ ܐܝܡܟܐ ܐܢܬܘܢ ܦܪܘܩܘ ܠܟܘܢ ܡܢܝ ܦܠܚܝ ܫܘܩܪܐ
shwqr' plkhy mny lkwn prwqw 'nthwn 'ymk' lkwn 'n' yde dl' lkwn wn'mr
He will say, ‘I tell you, I don’t know where you come from. Depart from me, all you workers of iniquity.’

ܬܡܢ ܢܗܘܐ ܒܟܝܐ ܘܚܘܪܩ ܫܢܐ ܟܕ ܬܚܙܘܢ ܠܐܒܪܗܡ ܘܠܐܝܣܚܩ ܘܠܝܥܩܘܒ ܘܠܟܠܗܘܢ ܢܒܝܐ ܒܡܠܟܘܬܐ ܕܐܠܗܐ ܐܢܬܘܢ ܕܝܢ ܬܗܘܘܢ ܡܦܩܝܢ ܠܒܪ
lbr mpqyn thhwwn dyn 'nthwn d'lh' bmlkwth' nby' wlklhwn wlyeqwb wl'yskhq l'brhm thkhzwn kd shn' wkhwrq bky' nhw' thmn
There will be weeping and gnashing of teeth, when you see Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, and all the prophets, in God’s Kingdom, and yourselves being thrown outside.

ܘܢܐܬܘܢ ܡܢ ܡܕܢܚܐ ܘܡܢ ܡܥܪܒܐ ܘܡܢ ܬܝܡܢܐ ܘܡܢ ܓܪܒܝܐ ܘܢܣܬܡܟܘܢ ܒܡܠܟܘܬܐ ܕܐܠܗܐ
d'lh' bmlkwth' wnsthmkwn grby' wmn thymn' wmn merb' wmn mdnkh' mn wn'thwn
They will come from the east, west, north, and south, and will sit down in God’s Kingdom.

ܘܗܐ ܐܝܬ ܐܚܪܝܐ ܕܢܗܘܘܢ ܩܕܡܝܐ ܘܐܝܬ ܩܕܡܝܐ ܕܢܗܘܘܢ ܐܚܪܝܐ
'khry' dnhwwn qdmy' w'yth qdmy' dnhwwn 'khry' 'yth wh'
Behold, there are some who are last who will be first, and there are some who are first who will be last.”

ܒܗ ܒܗܘ ܝܘܡܐ ܩܪܒܘ ܐܢܫܐ ܡܢ ܦܪܝܫܐ ܘܐܡܪܝܢ ܠܗ ܦܘܩ ܙܠ ܠܟ ܡܟܐ ܡܛܠ ܕܗܪܘܕܣ ܨܒܐ ܠܡܩܛܠܟ
lmqTlk tsb' dhrwds mTl mk' lk zl pwq lh w'mryn prysh' mn 'nsh' qrbw ywm' bhw bh
On that same day, some Pharisees came, saying to him, “Get out of here, and go away, for Herod wants to kill you.”

ܐܡܪ ܠܗܘܢ ܝܫܘܥ ܙܠܘ ܐܡܪܘ ܠܬܥܠܐ ܗܢܐ ܕܗܐ ܡܦܩ ܐܢܐ ܫܐܕܐ ܘܐܣܘܬܐ ܥܒܕ ܐܢܐ ܝܘܡܢܐ ܘܡܚܪ ܘܠܝܘܡܐ ܕܬܠܬܐ ܡܫܬܡܠܐ ܐܢܐ

He said to them, “Go and tell that fox, ‘Behold, I cast out demons and perform cures today and tomorrow, and the third day I complete my mission.

ܒܪܡ ܘܠܐ ܠܝ ܕܝܘܡܢܐ ܘܡܚܪ ܐܣܥܘܪ ܘܠܝܘܡܐ ܐܚܪܢܐ ܐܙܠ ܡܛܠ ܕܠܐ ܡܫܟܚܐ ܕܢܒܝܐ ܢܐܒܕ ܠܒܪ ܡܢ ܐܘܪܫܠܡ
'wrshlm mn lbr n'bd dnby' mshkkh' dl' mTl 'zl 'khrn' wlywm' 'sewr wmkhr dywmn' ly wl' brm
Nevertheless I must go on my way today and tomorrow and the next day, for it can’t be that a prophet would perish outside of Jerusalem.’

ܐܘܪܫܠܡ ܐܘܪܫܠܡ ܩܛܠܬ ܢܒܝܐ ܘܪܓܡܬ ܠܐܝܠܝܢ ܕܫܠܝܚܝܢ ܠܘܬܗ ܟܡܐ ܙܒܢܝܢ ܨܒܝܬ ܠܡܟܢܫܘ ܒܢܝܟܝ ܐܝܟ ܬܪܢܓܘܠܬܐ ܕܟܢܫܐ ܦܪܘܓܝܗ ܬܚܝܬ ܓܦܝܗ ܘܠܐ ܨܒܝܬܘܢ

“Jerusalem, Jerusalem, that kills the prophets, and stones those who are sent to her! How often I wanted to gather your children together, like a hen gathers her own brood under her wings, and you refused!

ܗܐ ܡܫܬܒܩ ܠܟܘܢ ܒܝܬܟܘܢ ܚܪܒܐ ܐܡܪ ܐܢܐ ܠܟܘܢ ܓܝܪ ܕܠܐ ܬܚܙܘܢܢܝ ܥܕܡܐ ܕܬܐܡܪܘܢ ܒܪܝܟ ܗܘ ܕܐܬܐ ܒܫܡܗ ܕܡܪܝܐ
dmry' bshmh d'th' hw bryk dth'mrwn edm' thkhzwnny dl' gyr lkwn 'n' 'mr khrb' bythkwn lkwn mshthbq h'
Behold, your house is left to you desolate. I tell you, you will not see me, until you say, ‘Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord!’”
