ואמר יי למשה אמר לכהניא בני אהרן ותימר להון על מית לא יסתאב בעמיה:
wamr yy lmshh amr lkhnya bny ahrn wthymr lhwn el myth la ysthab bemyh
Yahweh said to Moses, “Speak to the priests, the sons of Aaron, and say to them, ‘A priest shall not defile himself for the dead among his people,

אלהן לקריביה דקריב ליה לאמיה ולאבוהי ולבריה ולברתיה ולאחוהי:
alhn lqrybyh dqryb lyh lamyh wlabwhy wlbryh wlbrthyh wlakhwhy
except for his relatives that are near to him: for his mother, for his father, for his son, for his daughter, for his brother,

ולאחתיה בתלתא דקריבא ליה די לא הות לגבר לה יסתאב:
wlakhthyh bthltha dqryba lyh dy la hwth lgbr lh ysthab
and for his virgin sister who is near to him, who has had no husband; for her he may defile himself.

לא יסתאב רבא בעמיה לאחלותיה:
la ysthab rba bemyh lakhlwthyh
He shall not defile himself, being a chief man among his people, to profane himself.
5
לא ימרטון מרט ברישהון ופאתא דדקנהון לא יגלחון ובבשרהון לא יחבלון חבול:
la ymrTwn mrT bryshhwn wpatha ddqnhwn la yglkhwn wbbshrhwn la ykhblwn khbwl
“‘They shall not shave their heads or shave off the corners of their beards or make any cuttings in their flesh.

קדישין יהון קדם אלההון ולא יחלון שמא דאלההון ארי ית קרבניא דיי קרבן אלההון אנון מקריבין ויהון קדישין:
qdyshyn yhwn qdm alhhwn wla ykhlwn shma dalhhwn ary yth qrbnya dyy qrbn alhhwn anwn mqrybyn wyhwn qdyshyn
They shall be holy to their God, and not profane the name of their God, for they offer the offerings of Yahweh made by fire, the bread of their God. Therefore they shall be holy.

אתתא מטעיא ומחללא לא יסבון ואתתא דמתרכא מבעלה לא יסבון ארי קדיש הוא קדם אלהיה:
aththa mTeya wmkhlla la ysbwn waththa dmthrka mbelh la ysbwn ary qdysh hwa qdm alhyh
“‘They shall not marry a woman who is a prostitute, or profane. A priest shall not marry a woman divorced from her husband; for he is holy to his God.

ותקדשניה ארי ית קרבן אלהך הוא מקרב קדיש יהי לך ארי קדיש אנא יי מקדשכון:
wthqdshnyh ary yth qrbn alhk hwa mqrb qdysh yhy lk ary qdysh ana yy mqdshkwn
Therefore you shall sanctify him, for he offers the bread of your God. He shall be holy to you, for I Yahweh, who sanctify you, am holy.

ובת גבר כהן ארי תתחל למטעי מקדשת אבוה היא מתחלא בנורא תתוקד:
wbth gbr khn ary ththkhl lmTey mqdshth abwh hya mthkhla bnwra ththwqd
“‘The daughter of any priest, if she profanes herself by playing the prostitute, she profanes her father. She shall be burned with fire.

וכהנא דאתרבא מאחוהי ד יתריק על רישיה משחא דרבותא ודי קריב ית קרבניה למלבש ית לבושיא ית רישיה לא ירבי פרוע ולבושוהי לא יבזע:
wkhna dathrba makhwhy d ythryq el ryshyh mshkha drbwtha wdy qryb yth qrbnyh lmlbsh yth lbwshya yth ryshyh la yrby prwe wlbwshwhy la ybze
“‘He who is the high priest among his brothers, upon whose head the anointing oil is poured, and who is consecrated to put on the garments, shall not let the hair of his head hang loose, or tear his clothes.

ועל כל נפשת מתא לא ייעול לאבוהי ולאמיה לא יסתאב:
wel kl npshth mtha la yyewl labwhy wlamyh la ysthab
He must not go in to any dead body, or defile himself for his father or for his mother.
12
ומין מקדשא לא יפוק ולא יחל ית מקדשא דאלהיה ארי כליל משח רבותא דאלהיה עלוהי אנא יי:
wmyn mqdsha la ypwq wla ykhl yth mqdsha dalhyh ary klyl mshkh rbwtha dalhyh elwhy ana yy
He shall not go out of the sanctuary, nor profane the sanctuary of his God; for the crown of the anointing oil of his God is upon him. I am Yahweh.

והוא אתתא בבתלתהא יסב:
whwa aththa bbthlthha ysb
“‘He shall take a wife in her virginity.
14
ארמלא ומתרכא וחלילא מטעיא ית אלין לא יסב אלהן בתלתא מעמיה יסב אתתא:
armla wmthrka wkhlyla mTeya yth alyn la ysb alhn bthltha memyh ysb aththa
He shall not marry a widow, or one divorced, or a woman who has been defiled, or a prostitute. He shall take a virgin of his own people as a wife.
15
ולא יחל זרעיה בעמיה ארי אנא יי מקדשיה:
wla ykhl zreyh bemyh ary ana yy mqdshyh
He shall not profane his offspring among his people, for I am Yahweh who sanctifies him.’”
17
מלל עם אהרן למימר גבר מבניך לדריהון די יהי ביה מומא לא יקרב לקרבא קרבנא קדם אלהיה:
mll em ahrn lmymr gbr mbnyk ldryhwn dy yhy byh mwma la yqrb lqrba qrbna qdm alhyh
“Say to Aaron, ‘None of your offspring throughout their generations who has a defect may approach to offer the bread of his God.

ארי כל גבר די ביה מומא לא יקרב גבר עויר או חגיר או חרים או שריע:
ary kl gbr dy byh mwma la yqrb gbr ewyr aw khgyr aw khrym aw shrye
For whatever man he is that has a defect, he shall not draw near: a blind man, or a lame, or he who has a flat nose, or any deformity,

או גבר די יהי ביה תבר רגלא או תבר ידא:
aw gbr dy yhy byh thbr rgla aw thbr yda
or a man who has an injured foot, or an injured hand,
20
או גבין או דקא או חליז בעיניה או גרבן או חזזן או מרס פחדין:
aw gbyn aw dqa aw khlyz beynyh aw grbn aw khzzn aw mrs pkhdyn
or hunchbacked, or a dwarf, or one who has a defect in his eye, or an itching disease, or scabs, or who has damaged testicles.
21
כל גבר די ביה מומא מזרעא דאהרן כהנא לא יקרב לקרבא ית קרבניא דיי מומא ביה ית קרבן אלהיה לא יקרב לקרבא:
kl gbr dy byh mwma mzrea dahrn khna la yqrb lqrba yth qrbnya dyy mwma byh yth qrbn alhyh la yqrb lqrba
No man of the offspring of Aaron the priest who has a defect shall come near to offer the offerings of Yahweh made by fire. Since he has a defect, he shall not come near to offer the bread of his God.
22
קרבן אלהיה מקדש קודשיא ומן קודשיא ייכול:
qrbn alhyh mqdsh qwdshya wmn qwdshya yykwl
He shall eat the bread of his God, both of the most holy, and of the holy.
23
ברם לפרכתא לא ייעול ולמדבחא לא יקרב ארי מומא ביה ולא יחל ית מקדשי ארי אנא יי מקדשהון:
brm lprktha la yyewl wlmdbkha la yqrb ary mwma byh wla ykhl yth mqdshy ary ana yy mqdshhwn
He shall not come near to the veil, nor come near to the altar, because he has a defect; that he may not profane my sanctuaries, for I am Yahweh who sanctifies them.’”
24
ומליל משה עם אהרן ועם בנוהי ועם כל בני ישראל:
wmlyl mshh em ahrn wem bnwhy wem kl bny yshral
So Moses spoke to Aaron, and to his sons, and to all the children of Israel.
