ומליל יי עם משה ועם אהרן למימר:

Yahweh spoke to Moses and to Aaron, saying,
2
אנש ארי יהי במשך בסריה עמקא או עדיא או בהרא ויהי במשך בסריה למכתש סגירו ויתתי לות אהרן כהנא או לות חד מבנוהי כהניא:
khnya mbnwhy khd lwth aw khna ahrn lwth wyththy sgyrw lmkthsh bsryh bmshk wyhy bhra aw edya aw emqa bsryh bmshk yhy ary ansh
“When a man shall have a swelling in his body’s skin, or a scab, or a bright spot, and it becomes in the skin of his body the plague of leprosy, then he shall be brought to Aaron the priest or to one of his sons, the priests.

ויחזי כהנא ית מכתשא במשך בסרא ושער במכתשא אתהפיך למחור ומחזי מכתשא עמיק במשך בסריה מכתש סגירותא הוא ויחזניה כהנא ויסאב יתיה:
ythyh wysab khna wykhznyh hwa sgyrwtha mkthsh bsryh bmshk emyq mkthsha wmkhzy lmkhwr athhpyk bmkthsha wsher bsra bmshk mkthsha yth khna wykhzy
The priest shall examine the plague in the skin of the body. If the hair in the plague has turned white, and the appearance of the plague is deeper than the body’s skin, it is the plague of leprosy; so the priest shall examine him and pronounce him unclean.

ואם בהרא חורא היא במשך בסריה ועמיק לית מחזהא מן משכא ושערא לא אתהפיך למחור ויסגר כהנא ית מכתשא שבעא יומין:
ywmyn shbea mkthsha yth khna wysgr lmkhwr athhpyk la wshera mshka mn mkhzha lyth wemyq bsryh bmshk hya khwra bhra wam
If the bright spot is white in the skin of his body, and its appearance isn’t deeper than the skin, and its hair hasn’t turned white, then the priest shall isolate the infected person for seven days.

ויחזניה כהנא ביומא שביעאה והא מכתשא קם כד הוה לא אוסף מכתשא במשכא ויסגרניה כהנא שבעא יומין תנינות:
thnynwth ywmyn shbea khna wysgrnyh bmshka mkthsha awsp la hwh kd qm mkthsha wha shbyeah bywma khna wykhznyh
The priest shall examine him on the seventh day. Behold, if in his eyes the plague is arrested and the plague hasn’t spread in the skin, then the priest shall isolate him for seven more days.

ויחזי כהנא יתיה ביומא שביעאה תנינות והא עמיא מכתשא ולא אוסף מכתשא במשכא וידכניה כהנא עדיתא היא ויצבע לבושוהי וידכי:
wydky lbwshwhy wytsbe hya edytha khna wydknyh bmshka mkthsha awsp wla mkthsha emya wha thnynwth shbyeah bywma ythyh khna wykhzy
The priest shall examine him again on the seventh day. Behold, if the plague has faded and the plague hasn’t spread in the skin, then the priest shall pronounce him clean. It is a scab. He shall wash his clothes, and be clean.

ואם אוספא תוסף עדיתא במשכא בתר דאתחזי לכהנא לדכותיה ויתחזי תנינות לכהנא:
lkhna thnynwth wythkhzy ldkwthyh lkhna dathkhzy bthr bmshka edytha thwsp awspa wam
But if the scab spreads on the skin after he has shown himself to the priest for his cleansing, he shall show himself to the priest again.

ויחזי כהנא והא אוספת עדיתא במשכא ויסאבניה כהנא סגירותא היא:
hya sgyrwtha khna wysabnyh bmshka edytha awspth wha khna wykhzy
The priest shall examine him; and behold, if the scab has spread on the skin, then the priest shall pronounce him unclean. It is leprosy.

מכתש סגירו ארי תהי באנשא ויתתי לות כהנא:
khna lwth wyththy bansha thhy ary sgyrw mkthsh
“When the plague of leprosy is in a man, then he shall be brought to the priest;

ויחזי כהנא והא עמקא חורא במשכא והיא הפכת שער לחור ורשם בסרא חיתא בעמקתא:
bemqtha khytha bsra wrshm lkhwr sher hpkth whya bmshka khwra emqa wha khna wykhzy
and the priest shall examine him. Behold, if there is a white swelling in the skin, and it has turned the hair white, and there is raw flesh in the swelling,

סגירות עתיקא היא במשך בסריה ויסאבניה כהנא לא יסגרניה ארי מסאב הוא:
hwa msab ary ysgrnyh la khna wysabnyh bsryh bmshk hya ethyqa sgyrwth
it is a chronic leprosy in the skin of his body, and the priest shall pronounce him unclean. He shall not isolate him, for he is already unclean.

ואם מסגא תסגי סגירותא במשכא ותחפי סגירותא ית כל משך מכתשא מרישיה ועד רגלוהי לכל חיזו עיני כהנא:
khna eyny khyzw lkl rglwhy wed mryshyh mkthsha mshk kl yth sgyrwtha wthkhpy bmshka sgyrwtha thsgy msga wam
“If the leprosy breaks out all over the skin, and the leprosy covers all the skin of the infected person from his head even to his feet, as far as it appears to the priest,

ויחזי כהנא והא חפת סגירותא ית כל בסריה וידכי ית מכתשא כליה אתהפיך למחור דכי הוא:
hwa dky lmkhwr athhpyk klyh mkthsha yth wydky bsryh kl yth sgyrwtha khpth wha khna wykhzy
then the priest shall examine him. Behold, if the leprosy has covered all his flesh, he shall pronounce him clean of the plague. It has all turned white: he is clean.

וביומא דאתחזי ביה בסרא חיא יהי מסאב:
msab yhy khya bsra byh dathkhzy wbywma
But whenever raw flesh appears in him, he shall be unclean.
15
ויחזי כהנא ית בסרא חיא ויסאבניה בסרא חיא מסאב הוא סגירות הוא:
hwa sgyrwth hwa msab khya bsra wysabnyh khya bsra yth khna wykhzy
The priest shall examine the raw flesh, and pronounce him unclean: the raw flesh is unclean. It is leprosy.

או ארי יתוב בסרא חיא ויתהפיך למחור ויתתי לות כהנא:
khna lwth wyththy lmkhwr wythhpyk khya bsra ythwb ary aw
Or if the raw flesh turns again, and is changed to white, then he shall come to the priest.
17
ויחזניה כהנא והא אתהפיך מכתשא למחור וידכי כהנא ית מכתשא דכי הוא:
hwa dky mkthsha yth khna wydky lmkhwr mkthsha athhpyk wha khna wykhznyh
The priest shall examine him. Behold, if the plague has turned white, then the priest shall pronounce him clean of the plague. He is clean.

ובסרא ארי יהי ביה במשכיה שחנא ויתסי:
wythsy shkhna bmshkyh byh yhy ary wbsra
“When the body has a boil on its skin, and it has healed,
19
ויהי באתר שחנא עמקא חורא או בהרא חורא סמקא ויתחזי לכהנא:
lkhna wythkhzy smqa khwra bhra aw khwra emqa shkhna bathr wyhy
and in the place of the boil there is a white swelling, or a bright spot, reddish-white, then it shall be shown to the priest.
20
ויחזי כהנא והא מחזהא מכיך מן משכא ושערה אתהפיך למחור ויסאביניה כהנא מכתש סגירותא היא בשחנא סגיאת:
sgyath bshkhna hya sgyrwtha mkthsh khna wysabynyh lmkhwr athhpyk wsherh mshka mn mkyk mkhzha wha khna wykhzy
The priest shall examine it. Behold, if its appearance is deeper than the skin, and its hair has turned white, then the priest shall pronounce him unclean. It is the plague of leprosy. It has broken out in the boil.
21
ואם יחזנה כהנא והא לית בה שער חור ומכיכא ליתהא מן משכא והיא עמיא ויסגרניה כהנא שבעא יומין:
ywmyn shbea khna wysgrnyh emya whya mshka mn lythha wmkyka khwr sher bh lyth wha khna ykhznh wam
But if the priest examines it, and behold, there are no white hairs in it, and it isn’t deeper than the skin, but is dim, then the priest shall isolate him seven days.
22
ואם אוספא תוסף במשכא ויסאב כהנא יתיה מכתשא היא:
hya mkthsha ythyh khna wysab bmshka thwsp awspa wam
If it spreads in the skin, then the priest shall pronounce him unclean. It is a plague.
23
ואם באתרהא קמת בהרתא לא אוספת רשם שחנא היא וידכניה כהנא:
khna wydknyh hya shkhna rshm awspth la bhrtha qmth bathrha wam
But if the bright spot stays in its place, and hasn’t spread, it is the scar from the boil; and the priest shall pronounce him clean.
24
או בסרא ארי יהי במשכיה כואה דנור ותהי רשם כואה בהרא חורא סמקא או חורא:
khwra aw smqa khwra bhra kwah rshm wthhy dnwr kwah bmshkyh yhy ary bsra aw
“Or when the body has a burn from fire on its skin, and the raw flesh of the burn becomes a bright spot, reddish-white, or white,

ויחזי יתה כהנא והא אתהפיך שער חור בבהרתא ומחזהא עמיק מן משכא סגירותא היא בכואה סגיאה ויסאב יתיה כהנא מכתש סגירותא היא:
hya sgyrwtha mkthsh khna ythyh wysab sgyah bkwah hya sgyrwtha mshka mn emyq wmkhzha bbhrtha khwr sher athhpyk wha khna ythh wykhzy
then the priest shall examine it; and behold, if the hair in the bright spot has turned white, and its appearance is deeper than the skin, it is leprosy. It has broken out in the burning, and the priest shall pronounce him unclean. It is the plague of leprosy.
26
ואם יחזנה כהנא והא לית בבהרתא שער חור ומכיכא ליתהא מן משכא והיא עמיא ויסגרניה כהנא שבעא יומין:
ywmyn shbea khna wysgrnyh emya whya mshka mn lythha wmkyka khwr sher bbhrtha lyth wha khna ykhznh wam
But if the priest examines it, and behold, there is no white hair in the bright spot, and it isn’t deeper than the skin, but has faded, then the priest shall isolate him seven days.
27
ויחזניה כהנא ביומא שביעאה אם אוספא תוסף במשכא ויסאב כהנא יתיה מכתש סגירותא היא:
hya sgyrwtha mkthsh ythyh khna wysab bmshka thwsp awspa am shbyeah bywma khna wykhznyh
The priest shall examine him on the seventh day. If it has spread in the skin, then the priest shall pronounce him unclean. It is the plague of leprosy.
28
ואם באתרהא קמת בהרתא לא אוספת במשכא והיא עמיא עמק כואה היא וידכניה כהנא ארי רשם כואה היא:
hya kwah rshm ary khna wydknyh hya kwah emq emya whya bmshka awspth la bhrtha qmth bathrha wam
If the bright spot stays in its place, and hasn’t spread in the skin, but is faded, it is the swelling from the burn, and the priest shall pronounce him clean, for it is the scar from the burn.
29
וגבר או אתתא ארי יהי ביה מכתשא ברישא או בדקן:
bdqn aw brysha mkthsha byh yhy ary aththa aw wgbr
“When a man or woman has a plague on the head or on the beard,
30
ויחזי כהנא ית מכתשא והא מחזוהי עמיק מן משכא וביה שער סמק דעדק ויסאב יתיה כהנא נתקא הוא סגירות רישא או דקנא הוא:
hwa dqna aw rysha sgyrwth hwa nthqa khna ythyh wysab dedq smq sher wbyh mshka mn emyq mkhzwhy wha mkthsha yth khna wykhzy
then the priest shall examine the plague; and behold, if its appearance is deeper than the skin, and the hair in it is yellow and thin, then the priest shall pronounce him unclean. It is an itch. It is leprosy of the head or of the beard.
31
וארי יחזי כהנא ית מכתש נתקא והא לית מחזוהי עמיק מן משכא ושער אכם לית ביה ויסגר כהנא ית מכתש נתקא שבעת יומין:
ywmyn shbeth nthqa mkthsh yth khna wysgr byh lyth akm wsher mshka mn emyq mkhzwhy lyth wha nthqa mkthsh yth khna ykhzy wary
If the priest examines the plague of itching, and behold, its appearance isn’t deeper than the skin, and there is no black hair in it, then the priest shall isolate the person infected with itching seven days.
32
ויחזי כהנא ית מכתשא ביומא שביעאה והא לא אוסף נתקא ולא הוה ביה שער סמק ומחזי נתקא לית עמיק מן משכא:
mshka mn emyq lyth nthqa wmkhzy smq sher byh hwh wla nthqa awsp la wha shbyeah bywma mkthsha yth khna wykhzy
On the seventh day the priest shall examine the plague; and behold, if the itch hasn’t spread, and there is no yellow hair in it, and the appearance of the itch isn’t deeper than the skin,
33
ויגלח סחרני נתקא ודעם נתקא לא יגלח ויסגר כהנא ית נתקא שבעא יומין תנינות:
thnynwth ywmyn shbea nthqa yth khna wysgr yglkh la nthqa wdem nthqa skhrny wyglkh
then he shall be shaved, but he shall not shave the itch. Then the priest shall isolate the one who has the itch seven more days.
34
ויחזי כהנא ית נתקא ביומא שביעאה והא לא אוסף נתקא במשכא ומחזוהי ליתוהי עמיק מן משכא וידכי יתיה כהנא ויצבע לבושוהי וידכי:
wydky lbwshwhy wytsbe khna ythyh wydky mshka mn emyq lythwhy wmkhzwhy bmshka nthqa awsp la wha shbyeah bywma nthqa yth khna wykhzy
On the seventh day, the priest shall examine the itch; and behold, if the itch hasn’t spread in the skin, and its appearance isn’t deeper than the skin, then the priest shall pronounce him clean. He shall wash his clothes and be clean.
35
ואם אוספא יוסף נתקא במשכא בתר דכותיה:
dkwthyh bthr bmshka nthqa ywsp awspa wam
But if the itch spreads in the skin after his cleansing,
36
ויחזניה כהנא והא אוסף נתקא במשכא לא יבקר כהנא לשער סמק מסאב הוא:
hwa msab smq lsher khna ybqr la bmshka nthqa awsp wha khna wykhznyh
then the priest shall examine him; and behold, if the itch has spread in the skin, the priest shall not look for the yellow hair; he is unclean.
37
ואם כד הוה קם נתקא ושער אכם צמח ביה אתסי נתקא דכי הוא וידכניה כהנא:
khna wydknyh hwa dky nthqa athsy byh tsmkh akm wsher nthqa qm hwh kd wam
But if in his eyes the itch is arrested and black hair has grown in it, then the itch is healed. He is clean. The priest shall pronounce him clean.
38
וגבר או אתתא ארי יהי במשך בסרהון בהרן בהרן חורן:
khwrn bhrn bhrn bsrhwn bmshk yhy ary aththa aw wgbr
“When a man or a woman has bright spots in the skin of the body, even white bright spots,
39
ויחזי כהנא והא במשך בסרהון בהרן עמין חורן בהקא הוא סגי במשכא דכי הוא:
hwa dky bmshka sgy hwa bhqa khwrn emyn bhrn bsrhwn bmshk wha khna wykhzy
then the priest shall examine them. Behold, if the bright spots on the skin of their body are a dull white, it is a harmless rash. It has broken out in the skin. He is clean.
40
וגבר ארי יתר שער רישיה קרח הוא דכי הוא:
hwa dky hwa qrkh ryshyh sher ythr ary wgbr
“If a man’s hair has fallen from his head, he is bald. He is clean.
41
ואם מלקבל אפוהי יתר שער רישיה גלוש הוא דכי הוא:
hwa dky hwa glwsh ryshyh sher ythr apwhy mlqbl wam
If his hair has fallen off from the front part of his head, his forehead is bald. He is clean.
42
וארי יהי בקרחותיה או בגלושותיה מכתש חור סמוק סגירות סגיא היא בקרחותיה או בגלושותיה:
bglwshwthyh aw bqrkhwthyh hya sgya sgyrwth smwq khwr mkthsh bglwshwthyh aw bqrkhwthyh yhy wary
But if a reddish-white plague is in the bald head or the bald forehead, it is leprosy breaking out in his bald head or his bald forehead.
43
ויחזי יתיה כהנא והא עמיק מכתשא חורא סמקא בקרחותיה או בגלושותיה כמחזי סגירותא משך בסרא:
bsra mshk sgyrwtha kmkhzy bglwshwthyh aw bqrkhwthyh smqa khwra mkthsha emyq wha khna ythyh wykhzy
Then the priest shall examine him. Behold, if the swelling of the plague is reddish-white in his bald head, or in his bald forehead, like the appearance of leprosy in the skin of the body,
44
גבר סגיר הוא מסאב הוא סאבא יסאבניה כהנא ברישיה מכתשיה:
mkthshyh bryshyh khna ysabnyh saba hwa msab hwa sgyr gbr
he is a leprous man. He is unclean. The priest shall surely pronounce him unclean. His plague is on his head.
45
וסגירא די ביה מכתשא לבושוהי יהון מבזעין ורישיה יהי פריע ועל שפם כאבלא יתעטף ולא תסתאבון ולא תסתאבון יקרי:
yqry thsthabwn wla thsthabwn wla ytheTp kabla shpm wel prye yhy wryshyh mbzeyn yhwn lbwshwhy mkthsha byh dy wsgyra
“The leper in whom the plague is shall wear torn clothes, and the hair of his head shall hang loose. He shall cover his upper lip, and shall cry, ‘Unclean! Unclean!’
46
כל יומי די מכתשא ביה יהי מסאב מסאב הוא בלחודוהי ייתב מברא למשריתא מותביה:
mwthbyh lmshrytha mbra yythb blkhwdwhy hwa msab msab yhy byh mkthsha dy ywmy kl
All the days in which the plague is in him he shall be unclean. He is unclean. He shall dwell alone. His dwelling shall be outside of the camp.
47
ולבושא ארי יהי ביה מכתש סגירו בלבוש עמר או בלבוש כתן:
kthn blbwsh aw emr blbwsh sgyrw mkthsh byh yhy ary wlbwsha
“The garment also that the plague of leprosy is in, whether it is a woolen garment, or a linen garment;

או בשתיא או בערבא לכתנא ולעמרא או במשכא או בכל עבידת משך:
mshk ebydth bkl aw bmshka aw wlemra lkthna berba aw bshthya aw
whether it is in warp or woof; of linen or of wool; whether in leather, or in anything made of leather;
49
ויהי מכתשא ירוק או סמוק בלבושא או במשכא או בשתיא או בערבא או בכל מאן דמשך מכתש סגירותא הוא ויתחזי לכהנא:
lkhna wythkhzy hwa sgyrwtha mkthsh dmshk man bkl aw berba aw bshthya aw bmshka aw blbwsha smwq aw yrwq mkthsha wyhy
if the plague is greenish or reddish in the garment, or in the leather, or in the warp, or in the woof, or in anything made of leather; it is the plague of leprosy, and shall be shown to the priest.
50
ויחזי כהנא ית מכתשא ויסגר ית מכתשא שבעת יומין:
ywmyn shbeth mkthsha yth wysgr mkthsha yth khna wykhzy
The priest shall examine the plague, and isolate the plague seven days.
51
ויחזי ית מכתשא ביומא שביעאה ארי אוסף מכתשא בלבושא או בשתיא או בערבא או במשכא לכל די יתעבד משכא לעבידא סגירות מחסרא מכתשא מסאב הוא:
hwa msab mkthsha mkhsra sgyrwth lebyda mshka ythebd dy lkl bmshka aw berba aw bshthya aw blbwsha mkthsha awsp ary shbyeah bywma mkthsha yth wykhzy
He shall examine the plague on the seventh day. If the plague has spread in the garment, either in the warp, or in the woof, or in the skin, whatever use the skin is used for, the plague is a destructive mildew. It is unclean.

ויוקיד ית לבושא או ית שתיא או ית ערבא בעמרא או בכתנא או ית כל מאן דמשך די יהי ביה מכתשא ארי סגירות מחסרא היא בנורא תתוקד:
ththwqd bnwra hya mkhsra sgyrwth ary mkthsha byh yhy dy dmshk man kl yth aw bkthna aw bemra erba yth aw shthya yth aw lbwsha yth wywqyd
He shall burn the garment, whether the warp or the woof, in wool or in linen, or anything of leather, in which the plague is, for it is a destructive mildew. It shall be burned in the fire.
53
ואם יחזי כהנא והא לא אוסף מכתשא בלבושא או בשתיא או בערבא או בכל מאן דמשך:
dmshk man bkl aw berba aw bshthya aw blbwsha mkthsha awsp la wha khna ykhzy wam
“If the priest examines it, and behold, the plague hasn’t spread in the garment, either in the warp, or in the woof, or in anything of skin;

ויפקד כהנא ויחורון ית די ביה מכתשא ויסגרניה שבעת יומין תנינות:
thnynwth ywmyn shbeth wysgrnyh mkthsha byh dy yth wykhwrwn khna wypqd
then the priest shall command that they wash the thing that the plague is in, and he shall isolate it seven more days.
55
ויחזי כהנא בתר דחורו ית מכתשא והא לא שנא מכתשא מן כד הוה ומכתשא לא אוסף מסאב הוא בנורא תוקדניה תברא היא בשחיקותיה או בחדתותיה:
bkhdthwthyh aw bshkhyqwthyh hya thbra thwqdnyh bnwra hwa msab awsp la wmkthsha hwh kd mn mkthsha shna la wha mkthsha yth dkhwrw bthr khna wykhzy
Then the priest shall examine it, after the plague is washed; and behold, if the plague hasn’t changed its color, and the plague hasn’t spread, it is unclean; you shall burn it in the fire. It is a mildewed spot, whether the bareness is inside or outside.
56
ואם חזא כהנא והא עמיא מכתשא בתר דחורו יתיה ובזע יתיה מן לבושא או מן משכא או מן שתיא או מן ערבא:
erba mn aw shthya mn aw mshka mn aw lbwsha mn ythyh wbze ythyh dkhwrw bthr mkthsha emya wha khna khza wam
If the priest looks, and behold, the plague has faded after it is washed, then he shall tear it out of the garment, or out of the skin, or out of the warp, or out of the woof;
57
ואם תתחזי עוד בלבושא או בשתיא או בערבא או בכל מאן דמשך סגיא היא בנורא תוקדניה ית די ביה מכתשא:
mkthsha byh dy yth thwqdnyh bnwra hya sgya dmshk man bkl aw berba aw bshthya aw blbwsha ewd ththkhzy wam
and if it appears again in the garment, either in the warp, or in the woof, or in anything of skin, it is spreading. You shall burn what the plague is in with fire.
58
ולבושא או שתיא או ערבא או כל מאן דמשך די יתחור ויעדי מנהון מכתשא ויצטבע תנינות וידכי:
wydky thnynwth wytsTbe mkthsha mnhwn wyedy ythkhwr dy dmshk man kl aw erba aw shthya aw wlbwsha
The garment, either the warp, or the woof, or whatever thing of skin it is, which you shall wash, if the plague has departed from them, then it shall be washed the second time, and it will be clean.”
59
דא אוריתא דמכתש סגירו בלבוש עמר או כתנא או שתיא או ערבא או כל מאן דמשך לדכיותיה או לסאבותיה:
lsabwthyh aw ldkywthyh dmshk man kl aw erba aw shthya aw kthna aw emr blbwsh sgyrw dmkthsh awrytha da
This is the law of the plague of mildew in a garment of wool or linen, either in the warp, or the woof, or in anything of skin, to pronounce it clean, or to pronounce it unclean.
