הוי דכיר יי מה דאתגזר למהוי לנא אסתכל מן שמיא וחזי ית כסופנא:
kswpna yth wkhzy shmya mn asthkl lna lmhwy dathgzr mh yy dkyr hwy
Remember, Yahweh, what has come on us. Look, and see our reproach.

אחסנתנא אתהפכת לחלונאי ביתנא לעמין נוכראין:
nwkrayn lemyn bythna lkhlwnay athhpkth akhsnthna
Our inheritance has been turned over to strangers, our houses to aliens.

הוינן מתילין ליתמין דלית להון אבא אמהתנא כארמלן דאזלו גבריהון בקרוי ימא ומספקא להון אם אינון קיימין:
qyymyn aynwn am lhwn wmspqa yma bqrwy gbryhwn dazlw karmln amhthna aba lhwn dlyth lythmyn mthylyn hwynn
We are orphans and fatherless. Our mothers are as widows.

מימנא בכספא שתינא קיסנא בדמין ייתון:
yythwn bdmyn qysna shthyna bkspa mymna
We must pay for water to drink. Our wood is sold to us.

על פירקת צוורנא אטעננא כד הוינא אזלין בשביתא חמא נבוכדנצר רשיעא סרכיא דבני ישראל דאזלין ריקנין פקיד לחייטא ספרי אוריתא ולמעבד מנהון גואלקן ומליאו יתהון מן פרידא די על ספר פרת וטען יתהון על צווריהון ובי היא זימנא לעינא ולא הות ניחא לנא:
lna nykha hwth wla leyna zymna hya wby tswwryhwn el ythhwn wTen prth spr el dy pryda mn ythhwn wmlyaw gwalqn mnhwn wlmebd awrytha spry lkhyyTa pqyd ryqnyn dazlyn yshral dbny srkya rshyea nbwkdntsr khma bshbytha azlyn hwyna kd aTenna tswwrna pyrqth el
Our pursuers are on our necks. We are weary, and have no rest.

מצריים יהבנא סטר לאתפרנסא תמן ולאתור למסבע לחמא:
lkhma lmsbe wlathwr thmn lathprnsa sTr yhbna mtsryym
We have given our hands to the Egyptians, and to the Assyrians, to be satisfied with bread.

אבהתנא חבו וליתהון בעלמא ונחנא בתריהון עוייתהון סוברנא:
swbrna ewyythhwn bthryhwn wnkhna belma wlythhwn khbw abhthna
Our fathers sinned, and are no more. We have borne their iniquities.

בנוי דחם דאתיהיבו עבדין לבנוי דשם אינון שליטו בנא פריק לית מידהון:
mydhwn lyth pryq bna shlyTw aynwn dshm lbnwy ebdyn dathyhybw dkhm bnwy
Servants rule over us. There is no one to deliver us out of their hand.

בסכנת נפשנא נייתא לחם פרנסותנא מן קדם קטול דחרבא דאתי מן סטר מדברא:
mdbra sTr mn dathy dkhrba qTwl qdm mn prnswthna lkhm nyytha npshna bsknth
We get our bread at the peril of our lives, because of the sword in the wilderness.

משכנא היך תנורא אתקדרו מן קדם מפח כפנא:
kpna mpkh qdm mn athqdrw thnwra hyk mshkna
Our skin is black like an oven, because of the burning heat of famine.

נשיא דהוו נסיבן לגבר בציון אתעניאו מן ארמאי ובתולתיא בקירוי יהודה מן כשדאי:
kshday mn yhwdh bqyrwy wbthwlthya armay mn athenyaw btsywn lgbr nsybn dhww nshya
They ravished the women in Zion, the virgins in the cities of Judah.

רברבנין בדיהול אצטליבו אפי סביא לא סברו:
sbrw la sbya apy atsTlybw bdyhwl rbrbnyn
Princes were hanged up by their hands. The faces of elders were not honored.

רובין ריחיא נטלו וטליא בצליבת קיסא תקלו:
thqlw qysa btslybth wTlya nTlw rykhya rwbyn
The young men carry millstones. The children stumbled under loads of wood.

סביא מתרע סנהדרין אתבטלו ורובין מן בית זמריהון:
zmryhwn byth mn wrwbyn athbTlw snhdryn mthre sbya
The elders have ceased from the gate, and the young men from their music.

בטילת חדות לבבנא איתהפיך לאבלא חינוגנא:
khynwgna labla aythhpyk lbbna khdwth bTylth
The joy of our heart has ceased. Our dance is turned into mourning.

נפלת כלילא דרישנא ווי לנא ארום חבנא:
khbna arwm lna wwy dryshna klyla nplth
The crown has fallen from our head. Woe to us, for we have sinned!

על דין בית מוקדשא דאצתדי הוה חליש לבבנא ועל אלין עמא בית ישראל דאזלו בגלותא מתמן הוו חשיכן עיננא:
eynna khshykn hww mthmn bglwtha dazlw yshral byth ema alyn wel lbbna khlysh hwh datsthdy mwqdsha byth dyn el
For this our heart is faint. For these things our eyes are dim:

על טורא דציון דהוא צדי תעלין הליכו ביה:
byh hlykw thelyn tsdy dhwa dtsywn Twra el
for the mountain of Zion, which is desolate. The foxes walk on it.
19
את הוא יי לעלם בית מותבך בשמי מרומא כורסי יקרך לדרי דריא:
drya ldry yqrk kwrsy mrwma bshmy mwthbk byth lelm yy hwa ath
You, Yahweh, remain forever. Your throne is from generation to generation.
20
למה לעלמין תשליננא תשבקיננא לאוריכות יומין:
ywmyn lawrykwth thshbqynna thshlynna lelmyn lmh
Why do you forget us forever, and forsake us for so long a time?
21
אתיב יי יתנא לותך וניתוב בתיובתא שלימתא תחדת יומנא לטב כזמן יומיא טביא דהוו מלקדמין:
mlqdmyn dhww Tbya ywmya kzmn lTb ywmna thkhdth shlymtha bthywbtha wnythwb lwthk ythna yy athyb
Turn us to yourself, Yahweh, and we will be turned. Renew our days as of old.
