וסליק נביא בשליחות מן קדם יי מן גלגלא לבוכים ואמר אסקית יתכון ממצרים ואעלית יתכון לארעא די קימית לאבהתכון ואמרית לא אשני קימי עמכון לעלם:
lelm emkwn qymy ashny la wamryth labhthkwn qymyth dy larea ythkwn waelyth mmtsrym ythkwn asqyth wamr lbwkym glgla mn yy qdm mn bshlykhwth nbya wslyq
Yahweh’s angel came up from Gilgal to Bochim. He said, “I brought you out of Egypt, and have brought you to the land which I swore to give your fathers. I said, ‘I will never break my covenant with you.

ואתון לא תגזרון קים ליתבי ארעא הדא אגוריהון תתרעון ולא קבלתון למימרי מא דא עבדתון:
ebdthwn da ma lmymry qblthwn wla ththrewn agwryhwn hda area lythby qym thgzrwn la wathwn
You shall make no covenant with the inhabitants of this land. You shall break down their altars.’ But you have not listened to my voice. Why have you done this?

ואף אמרית לא אתריך יתהון מן קדמיכון ויהון לכון למעיקין וטעותהון יהון לכון לתקלא:
lthqla lkwn yhwn wTewthhwn lmeyqyn lkwn wyhwn qdmykwn mn ythhwn athryk la amryth wap
Therefore I also said, ‘I will not drive them out from before you; but they shall be in your sides, and their gods will be a snare to you.’”

והוה כד מליל נביא דיי ית פתגמיא האלין לכל בני ישראל וארימו עמא ית קלהון ובכו:
wbkw qlhwn yth ema warymw yshral bny lkl halyn pthgmya yth dyy nbya mlyl kd whwh
When Yahweh’s angel spoke these words to all the children of Israel, the people lifted up their voice and wept.

וקרו שמא דאתרא ההוא בוכים ונכיסו תמן נכסת קודשיא קדם דיי:
dyy qdm qwdshya nksth thmn wnkysw bwkym hhwa dathra shma wqrw
They called the name of that place Bochim, and they sacrificed there to Yahweh.

ושלח יהושע ית עמא ואזלו בני ישראל גבר לאחסנתיה למירת ית ארעא:
area yth lmyrth lakhsnthyh gbr yshral bny wazlw ema yth yhwshe wshlkh
Now when Joshua had sent the people away, the children of Israel each went to his inheritance to possess the land.

ופלח עמא קדם יי כל יומי יהושע וכל יומי סביא די אוריכו יומין בתר יהושע דחזו ית כל עובדא דיי רבא די עבד לישראל:
lyshral ebd dy rba dyy ewbda kl yth dkhzw yhwshe bthr ywmyn awrykw dy sbya ywmy wkl yhwshe ywmy kl yy qdm ema wplkh
The people served Yahweh all the days of Joshua, and all the days of the elders who outlived Joshua, who had seen all the great work of Yahweh that he had worked for Israel.

ומית יהושע בר נון עבדא דיי בר מאה ועשר שנין:
shnyn weshr mah br dyy ebda nwn br yhwshe wmyth
Joshua the son of Nun, the servant of Yahweh, died, being one hundred ten years old.

וקברו יתיה בתחום אחסנתיה בתמנת חרס בטורא דבית אפרים מציפונא לטור געש:
gesh lTwr mtsypwna aprym dbyth bTwra khrs bthmnth akhsnthyh bthkhwm ythyh wqbrw
They buried him in the border of his inheritance in Timnath Heres, in the hill country of Ephraim, on the north of the mountain of Gaash.

ואף כל דרא ההוא אתכנישו לות אבהתוהי וקם דרא אוחרנא בתריהון דלא ידעין למדחל מן קדם יי ואף ית עובדא די עבד לישראל:
lyshral ebd dy ewbda yth wap yy qdm mn lmdkhl ydeyn dla bthryhwn awkhrna dra wqm abhthwhy lwth athknyshw hhwa dra kl wap
After all that generation were gathered to their fathers, another generation arose after them who didn’t know Yahweh, nor the work which he had done for Israel.

ועבדו בני ישראל ית דביש קדם יי ופלחו ית בעליא:
belya yth wplkhw yy qdm dbysh yth yshral bny webdw
The children of Israel did that which was evil in Yahweh’s sight, and served the Baals.

ושבקו ית פולחנא דיי אלהא דאבהתהון דאפיק יתהון מארעא דמצרים וטעו בתר טעות עממיא מטעות עממיא די בסחרניהון וסגידו להן וארגיזו קדם יי:
yy qdm wargyzw lhn wsgydw bskhrnyhwn dy emmya mTewth emmya Tewth bthr wTew dmtsrym marea ythhwn dapyq dabhthhwn alha dyy pwlkhna yth wshbqw
They abandoned Yahweh, the God of their fathers, who brought them out of the land of Egypt, and followed other gods, of the gods of the peoples who were around them, and bowed themselves down to them; and they provoked Yahweh to anger.

ושבקו ית פולחנא דיי ופלחו לבעלא ולעשתרתא:
wleshthrtha lbela wplkhw dyy pwlkhna yth wshbqw
They abandoned Yahweh, and served Baal and the Ashtaroth.
14
ותקף רוגזא דיי בישראל ומסרינון ביד בוזזיהן ובזו יתהון ומסרינון ביד בעלי דבביהון מסחור סחור ולא יכילו עוד למיקם קדם בעלי דבביהון:
dbbyhwn bely qdm lmyqm ewd ykylw wla skhwr mskhwr dbbyhwn bely byd wmsrynwn ythhwn wbzw bwzzyhn byd wmsrynwn byshral dyy rwgza wthqp
Yahweh’s anger burned against Israel, and he delivered them into the hands of raiders who plundered them. He sold them into the hands of their enemies all around, so that they could no longer stand before their enemies.

בכל אתר די נפקו מחא מן קדם יי הות בהון לבישא כמא דמליל יי וכמא דקים יי להון ועקת להון לחדא:
lkhda lhwn weqth lhwn yy dqym wkma yy dmlyl kma lbysha bhwn hwth yy qdm mn mkha npqw dy athr bkl
Wherever they went out, Yahweh’s hand was against them for evil, as Yahweh had spoken, and as Yahweh had sworn to them; and they were very distressed.

ואקים יי נגידין ופרקינון מיד בזזיהון:
bzzyhwn myd wprqynwn ngydyn yy waqym
Yahweh raised up judges, who saved them out of the hand of those who plundered them.
17
ואף מן נגידיהון לא קבילו ארי טעו בתר טעות עממיא וסגידו להון סטו בפריע מן אורחא דאזלו אבהתהון לקבלא פקודיא דיי לא עבדו כן:
kn ebdw la dyy pqwdya lqbla abhthhwn dazlw awrkha mn bprye sTw lhwn wsgydw emmya Tewth bthr Tew ary qbylw la ngydyhwn mn wap
Yet they didn’t listen to their judges; for they prostituted themselves to other gods, and bowed themselves down to them. They quickly turned away from the way in which their fathers walked, obeying Yahweh’s commandments. They didn’t do so.

וארי אקים יי להון נגידין והוה מימרא דיי בסעדיה דנגידא ופריק להון מיד בעלי דבביהון כל יומי נגידא ארי מתיב ממימרא דאמר יי ומקבל צלותהון ופריק להון מן קדם דחקיהון ומשעבדיהון:
wmshebdyhwn dkhqyhwn qdm mn lhwn wpryq tslwthhwn wmqbl yy damr mmymra mthyb ary ngyda ywmy kl dbbyhwn bely myd lhwn wpryq dngyda bsedyh dyy mymra whwh ngydyn lhwn yy aqym wary
When Yahweh raised up judges for them, then Yahweh was with the judge, and saved them out of the hand of their enemies all the days of the judge; for it grieved Yahweh because of their groaning by reason of those who oppressed them and troubled them.

והוה כד מאית נגידא תיבין ומחבלין מאבהתהון למהך בתר טעות עממיא למפלחהן ולמסגד להן לא שבקין מעובדיהון בישיא ומאורחתהון מקלקלתא:
mqlqltha wmawrkhthhwn byshya mewbdyhwn shbqyn la lhn wlmsgd lmplkhhn emmya Tewth bthr lmhk mabhthhwn wmkhblyn thybyn ngyda mayth kd whwh
But when the judge was dead, they turned back, and dealt more corruptly than their fathers in following other gods to serve them and to bow down to them. They didn’t cease what they were doing, or give up their stubborn ways.

ותקיף רוגזא דיי בישראל ואמר חלף די עברו עמא הדין על קימי די פקדית ית אבהתהון ולא קבילו למימרי:
lmymry qbylw wla abhthhwn yth pqdyth dy qymy el hdyn ema ebrw dy khlp wamr byshral dyy rwgza wthqyp
Yahweh’s anger burned against Israel; and he said, “Because this nation transgressed my covenant which I commanded their fathers, and has not listened to my voice,

אף אנא לא אוסיף לתרכא אנש מן קדמיהון מן עממיא די שבק יהושע ומית:
wmyth yhwshe shbq dy emmya mn qdmyhwn mn ansh lthrka awsyp la ana ap
I also will no longer drive out any of the nations that Joshua left when he died from before them;

בדיל לנסאה בהון ית ישראל הנטרין אינון ית אורחן דתקנן קדם יי למהך בהון כמא די נטרו אבהתהון אם לא:
la am abhthhwn nTrw dy kma bhwn lmhk yy qdm dthqnn awrkhn yth aynwn hnTryn yshral yth bhwn lnsah bdyl
that by them I may test Israel, to see if they will keep Yahweh’s way to walk therein, as their fathers kept it, or not.”
