ܘܢܦܩܘ ܟܠܗܘܢ ܒܢ̈ܝ ܐܝܣܪܝܠ ܘܐܬܟܢܫܘ ܟܢܘܫܬܐ ܟܠܗܘܢ ܐܝܟ ܚܕ ܓܒܪ ܡܢ ܕܢ ܘܥܕܡܐ ܠܒܪܫܒܥ ܠܐܪܥܐ ܕܓܠܥܕ ܩܕܡ ܡܪܝܐ ܒܡܨܦܝܐ

Then all the children of Israel went out, and the congregation was assembled as one man, from Dan even to Beersheba, with the land of Gilead, to Yahweh at Mizpah.

ܘܩܡ ܫܪ̈ܒܬܐ ܕܟܠܗ ܥܡܐ ܟܠܗܘܢ ܫ̈ܒܛܐ ܕܐܝܣܪܐܝܠ ܒܟܢܘܫܬܐ ܥܡܗ ܕܐܠܗܐ ܐܪܒܥܡܐܐ ܐ̈ܠܦܝܢ ܪ̈ܓܠܝܝܢ ܫ̈ܡܛܝ ܣܝܦܐ
syp' shmTy rglyyn 'lpyn 'rbem'' d'lh' emh bknwshth' d'ysr'yl shbT' klhwn em' dklh shrbth' wqm
The chiefs of all the people, even of all the tribes of Israel, presented themselves in the assembly of the people of God, four hundred thousand footmen who drew sword.

ܘܫܡܥܘ ܒܢ̈ܝ ܒܢܝܡܝܢ ܕܣܠܩܘ ܒܢ̈ܝ ܐܝܣܪܝܠ ܠܡܨܦܝܐ ܘܐܡܪܘ ܒܢ̈ܝ ܐܝܣܪܝܠ ܐܡܪܘ ܠܢ ܐܝܟܢܐ ܗܘܬ ܒܝܫܬܐ ܗܕܐ
hd' byshth' hwth 'ykn' ln 'mrw 'ysryl bny w'mrw lmtspy' 'ysryl bny dslqw bnymyn bny wshmew
(Now the children of Benjamin heard that the children of Israel had gone up to Mizpah.) The children of Israel said, “Tell us, how did this wickedness happen?”

ܥܢܐ ܠܘܝ ܒܥܠܗ̇ ܕܐܢܬܬܐ ܕܐܬܩܛܠܬ ܘܐܡܪ ܠܗܘܢ ܠܓܒܥ ܕܒܢܝܡܝܢ ܥܠܬ ܐܢܐ ܘܕܪܘܟܬܝ ܠܡܒܬ
lmbth wdrwkthy 'n' elth dbnymyn lgbe lhwn w'mr d'thqTlth d'nthth' belh lwy en'
The Levite, the husband of the woman who was murdered, answered, “I came into Gibeah that belongs to Benjamin, I and my concubine, to spend the night.

ܘܩܡܘ ܥܠܝ ܡܪ̈ܝܗ ܕܓܒܥ ܘܐܬܟܪܟܘܗܝ ܥܠܝ ܒܝܬܐ ܒܠܠܝܐ ܠܝ ܒܥܘ ܠܡܩܛܠ ܘܠܕܪܘܟܬܝ ܨܥܪܘ ܘܡܝܬܬ
wmythth tserw wldrwkthy lmqTl bew ly blly' byth' ely w'thkrkwhy dgbe mryh ely wqmw
The men of Gibeah rose against me, and surrounded the house by night. They intended to kill me and they raped my concubine, and she is dead.

ܘܐܚܕܬܗ̇ ܠܕܪܘܟܬܝ ܘܦܫܚܬܗ̇ ܘܫܕܝܬܗ̇ ܒܟܠܗܝܢ ܚ̈ܩܠܬܐ ܕܝܪ̈ܬܘܬܐ ܕܐܝܣܪܝܠ ܥܠ ܕܥܒܕܘ ܚܛܝܬܐ ܘܥܘܠܐ ܒܐܝܣܪܝܠ
b'ysryl wewl' khTyth' debdw el d'ysryl dyrthwth' khqlth' bklhyn wshdythh wpshkhthh ldrwkthy w'khdthh
I took my concubine and cut her in pieces, and sent her throughout all the country of the inheritance of Israel; for they have committed lewdness and folly in Israel.

ܗܐ ܟܠܟܘܢ ܒܢ̈ܝ ܐܝܣܪܝܠ ܗܒܘ ܦܬܓܡܐ ܘܡܠܟܐ ܥܠ ܗܕܐ
hd' el wmlk' pthgm' hbw 'ysryl bny klkwn h'
Behold, you children of Israel, all of you, give here your advice and counsel.”

ܘܩܡܘ ܟܠܗ ܥܡܐ ܐܝܟ ܓܒܪܐ ܚܕ ܘܐܡܪܝܢ ܠܐ ܐܢܫ ܢܐܙܠ ܠܡܫܟܢܗ ܘܠܐ ܢܣܛܐ ܐܢܫ ܠܒܝܬܗ
lbythh 'nsh nsT' wl' lmshknh n'zl 'nsh l' w'mryn khd gbr' 'yk em' klh wqmw
All the people arose as one man, saying, “None of us will go to his tent, neither will any of us turn to his house.

ܗܫܐ ܗܟܢܐ ܢܥܒܕ ܠܗ̇ ܠܓܒܥ ܢܪܡܐ ܥܠܝܗ ܦܨ̈ܐ

But now this is the thing which we will do to Gibeah: we will go up against it by lot;

ܢܕܒܪ ܥܣܪܐ ܓܒܪ̈ܝܢ ܠܡܐܐ ܠܟܠܗܘܢ ܫܒ̈ܛܐ ܕܐܝܣܪܝܠ ܘܡܐܐ ܠܐܠܦ ܘܐܠܦ ܠܪܒܘ ܕܢܣܒܘܢ ܙܘ̈ܕܐ ܠܥܡܐ ܕܥܒܪܝܢ ܕܢܐܙܠܘܢ ܥܠ ܓܒܥ ܕܒܢܝܡܝܢ ܐܝܟ ܟܠܗ ܥܘܠܐ ܕܥܒܕܘ ܒܐܝܣܪܝܠ
b'ysryl debdw ewl' klh 'yk dbnymyn gbe el dn'zlwn debryn lem' zwd' dnsbwn lrbw w'lp l'lp wm'' d'ysryl shbT' lklhwn lm'' gbryn esr' ndbr
and we will take ten men of one hundred throughout all the tribes of Israel, and one hundred of one thousand, and a thousand out of ten thousand to get food for the people, that they may do, when they come to Gibeah of Benjamin, according to all the folly that the men of Gibeah have done in Israel.”

ܘܐܬܟܢܫܘ ܟܠܗܘܢ ܐܢܫܐ ܕܐܝܣܪܝܠ ܥܠ ܩܪܝܬܐ ܐܝܟ ܓܒܪܐ ܚܕ ܟܕ ܫܘܝܢ
shwyn kd khd gbr' 'yk qryth' el d'ysryl 'nsh' klhwn w'thknshw
So all the men of Israel were gathered against the city, knit together as one man.

ܘܫܕܪܘ ܟܠܗܘܢ ܫܒ̈ܛܐ ܕܐܝܣܪܝܠ ܓܒܪ̈ܐ ܠܘܬ ܟܠܗܘܢ ܕܒܝܬ ܒܢܝܡܝܢ ܠܡܐܡܪ ܡܢܐ ܗܝ ܒܝܫܬܐ ܗܕܐ ܕܗܘܬܟܘܢ
dhwthkwn hd' byshth' hy mn' lm'mr bnymyn dbyth klhwn lwth gbr' d'ysryl shbT' klhwn wshdrw
The tribes of Israel sent men through all the tribe of Benjamin, saying, “What wickedness is this that has happened among you?

ܗܫܐ ܗܒܘ ܓܒܪ̈ܐ ܒܢ̈ܝ ܥܘܠܐ ܕܐܝܬ ܒܓܒܥ ܢܩܛܠ ܐܢܘܢ ܘܢܦܪܩ ܒܝܫܬܐ ܡܢ ܐܝܣܪܝܠ ܘܠܐ ܨܒܘ ܒܢ̈ܝ ܒܢܝܡܝܢ ܕܢܫܡܥܘܢ ܒܩܠܐ ܕܐܚܝ̈ܗܘܢ ܒܢ̈ܝ ܐܝܣܪܝܠ
'ysryl bny d'khyhwn bql' dnshmewn bnymyn bny tsbw wl' 'ysryl mn byshth' wnprq 'nwn nqTl bgbe d'yth ewl' bny gbr' hbw hsh'
Now therefore deliver up the men, the wicked fellows who are in Gibeah, that we may put them to death and put away evil from Israel.” But Benjamin would not listen to the voice of their brothers, the children of Israel.

ܘܐܬܟܢܫܘ ܟܠܗܘܢ ܒܢ̈ܝ ܒܢܝܡܝܢ ܡܢ ܩܘܪ̈ܝܗܘܢ ܠܓܒܥ ܠܡܦܩ ܘܠܡܬܟܬܫܘ ܥܡ ܒܢ̈ܝ ܐܝܣܪܝܠ
'ysryl bny em wlmthkthshw lmpq lgbe qwryhwn mn bnymyn bny klhwn w'thknshw
The children of Benjamin gathered themselves together out of the cities to Gibeah, to go out to battle against the children of Israel.

ܘܐܬܡܢܝܘ ܒ̈ܢܝ ܒܢܝܡܝܢ ܒܝܘܡܐ ܗܘ ܡܢ ܩܘܪ̈ܝܐ ܥܣܪ̈ܝܢ ܘܐܫܬܐ ܐ̈ܠܦܝܢ ܓܒܪ̈ܝܢ ܫܡ̈ܛܝ ܣܝܦܐ ܣܛܪ ܡܢ ܝܬ̈ܒܝ ܓܒܥ ܕܐܬܡܢܝܘ ܫܒܥܡܐܐ ܓܒܪ̈ܝܢ
gbryn shbem'' d'thmnyw gbe ythby mn sTr syp' shmTy gbryn 'lpyn w'shth' esryn qwry' mn hw bywm' bnymyn bny w'thmnyw
The children of Benjamin were counted on that day out of the cities twenty-six thousand men who drew the sword, in addition to the inhabitants of Gibeah, who were counted seven hundred chosen men.

ܕܦܫܝ̈ܓܢ ܐ̈ܝܕܝܗܘܢ ܕܝܡܝܢܐ ܟܠ ܕܫܕܐ ܒܩܠܥܐ ܠܥܠܥܠܐ ܘܠܐ ܡܦܝܫ
mpysh wl' lelel' bqle' dshd' kl dymyn' 'ydyhwn dpshygn
Among all these soldiers there were seven hundred chosen men who were left-handed. Every one of them could sling a stone at a hair and not miss.

ܘܓܒܪ̈ܐ ܕܐܝܣܪܐܝܠ ܐܬܡܢܝܘ ܣܛܪ ܡܢ ܒܢ̈ܝ ܒܢܝܡܝܢ ܐܪܒܥܡܐܐ ܐ̈ܠܦܝܢ ܓܒܪ̈ܐ ܫܡ̈ܛܝ ܣܝܦܐ ܟܠܗܘܢ ܓܒܪ̈ܐ ܥܒ̈ܕܝ ܩܪܒܐ
qrb' ebdy gbr' klhwn syp' shmTy gbr' 'lpyn 'rbem'' bnymyn bny mn sTr 'thmnyw d'ysr'yl wgbr'
The men of Israel, besides Benjamin, were counted four hundred thousand men who drew sword. All these were men of war.

ܘܩܡܘ ܘܣܠܩܘ ܠܒܝܬ ܐܝܠ ܘܫܐܠܘ ܒܐܠܗܐ ܘܐܡܪ̈ܝܢ ܒܢ̈ܝ ܐܝܣܪܝܠ ܡܢܘ ܢܣܩ ܠܢ ܒܪܝܫܐ ܠܡܬܟܬܫܘ ܥܡ ܒܢܝ̈ ܒܢܝܡܝܢ ܘܐܡܪ ܡܪܝܐ ܝܗܘܕܐ ܒܩܕܡܝܬܐ
bqdmyth' yhwd' mry' w'mr bnymyn bny em lmthkthshw brysh' ln nsq mnw 'ysryl bny w'mryn b'lh' wsh'lw 'yl lbyth wslqw wqmw
The children of Israel arose, went up to Bethel, and asked counsel of God. They asked, “Who shall go up for us first to battle against the children of Benjamin?” Yahweh said, “Judah first.”

ܘܩܡܘ ܒܢ̈ܝ ܐܝܣܪܝܠ ܒܨܦܪܐ ܘܫܪܘ ܥܠ ܓܒܥ

The children of Israel rose up in the morning and encamped against Gibeah.

ܘܢܦܩܘ ܒܢܝ̈ ܒܢܝܡܝܢ ܡܢ ܓܒܥ ܘܐܣܬܕܪܘ ܠܘܩܒܠ ܐܝܣܪܝܠ ܘܐܪܡܝܘ ܡܢ ܐܝܣܪܝܠ ܒܝܘܡܐ ܗܘ ܕܐܩܪܒܘ ܥܡܗܘܢ ܥܣܪ̈ܝܢ ܘܬܪ̈ܝܢ ܐ̈ܠܦܝܢ ܓܒܪ̈ܝܢ ܥܠ ܐܪܥܐ
're' el gbryn 'lpyn wthryn esryn emhwn d'qrbw hw bywm' 'ysryl mn w'rmyw 'ysryl lwqbl w'sthdrw gbe mn bnymyn bny wnpqw
The children of Benjamin came out of Gibeah, and on that day destroyed twenty-two thousand of the Israelite men down to the ground.

ܘܐܬܚܝܠܘ ܬܘܒ ܒܢ̈ܝ ܐܝܣܪܝܠ ܘܐܘܣܦܘ ܠܡܣܕܪ ܩܪܒܐ ܒܕܘܟܬܐ ܕܣܕܪܘ ܒܝܘܡܐ ܩܕܡܝܐ
qdmy' bywm' dsdrw bdwkth' qrb' lmsdr w'wspw 'ysryl bny thwb w'thkhylw
The people, the men of Israel, encouraged themselves, and set the battle again in array in the place where they set themselves in array the first day.

ܘܣܠܩܘ ܒܢܝ̈ ܐܝܣܪܝܠ ܘܒܟܘ ܩܕܡ ܡܪܝܐ ܥܕܡܐ ܠܪܡܫܐ ܘܫܐܠܘ ܒܡܪܝܐ ܘܐܡܪ̈ܝܢ ܢܘܣܦ ܬܘܒ ܠܡܩܪܒܘ ܩܪܒܐ ܥܡ ܒܢܝ̈ ܒܢܝܡܝܢ ܐܚܘܢ ܘܐܡܪ ܡܪܝܐ ܣܩܘ ܥܠܘܗܝ

The children of Israel went up and wept before Yahweh until evening; and they asked of Yahweh, saying, “Shall I again draw near to battle against the children of Benjamin my brother?” Yahweh said, “Go up against him.”

ܘܐܩܪܒܘ ܒܢ̈ܝ ܐܝܣܪܝܠ ܥܡ ܒܢ̈ܝ ܒܢܝܡܝܢ ܠܝܘܡܐ ܐܚܪܢܐ
'khrn' lywm' bnymyn bny em 'ysryl bny w'qrbw
The children of Israel came near against the children of Benjamin the second day.

ܘܢܦܩܘ ܒܢ̈ܝ ܒܢܝܡܝܢ ܠܘܩܒܠܗܘܢ ܡܢ ܓܒܥ ܒܝܘܡܐ ܕܬܪ̈ܝܢ ܘܐܪܡܝܘ ܬܘܒ ܒܢ̈ܝ ܒܢܝܡܝܢ ܡܢ ܐܝܣܪܝܠ ܬܡܢܬܥܣܪ̈ ܐܠܦܝܢ ܓܒܪ̈ܝܢ ܥܠ ܐܪܥܐ ܟܠܗܘܢ ܗܠܝܢ ܫܡ̈ܛܝ ܣܝܦܐ
syp' shmTy hlyn klhwn 're' el gbryn 'lpyn thmnthesr 'ysryl mn bnymyn bny thwb w'rmyw dthryn bywm' gbe mn lwqblhwn bnymyn bny wnpqw
Benjamin went out against them out of Gibeah the second day, and destroyed down to the ground of the children of Israel again eighteen thousand men. All these drew the sword.

ܘܣܠܩܘ ܟܠܗܘܢ ܒܢ̈ܝ ܐܝܣܪܝܠ ܘܟܠܗ ܥܡܐ ܘܐܬܘ ܠܒܝܬ ܐܝܠ ܘܒܟܘ ܘܐܝܬܒܘ ܬܡܢ ܩܕܡ ܡܪܝܐ ܘܨܡܘ ܒܝܘܡܐ ܗܘ ܥܕܡܐ ܠܪܡܫܐ ܘܐܣܩܘ ܥ̈ܠܘܬܐ ܘܫ̈ܠܡܐ ܩܕܡ ܡܪܝܐ
mry' qdm wshlm' elwth' w'sqw lrmsh' edm' hw bywm' wtsmw mry' qdm thmn w'ythbw wbkw 'yl lbyth w'thw em' wklh 'ysryl bny klhwn wslqw
Then all the children of Israel and all the people went up, and came to Bethel, and wept, and sat there before Yahweh, and fasted that day until evening; then they offered burnt offerings and peace offerings before Yahweh.

ܘܫܐܠܘ ܒܢ̈ܝ ܐܝܣܪܝܠ ܒܡܪܝܐ ܘܬܡܢ ܗܘܬ ܩܒܘܬܗ ܕܡܪܝܐ ܒܝ̈ܘܡܬܐ ܗܢܘܢ

The children of Israel asked Yahweh (for the ark of the covenant of God was there in those days,

ܘܦܝܢܚܣ ܒܪ ܐܠܝܥܙܪ ܒܪ ܐܗܪܘܢ ܟܗܢܐ ܩܐܡ ܗܘܐ ܩܕܡܘܗܝ ܒܝܘ̈ܡܬܐ ܗܢܘܢ ܘܐܡܪ̈ܝܢ ܢܘܣܦ ܬܘܒ ܠܡܦܩ ܠܩܪܒܐ ܥܠ ܒܢ̈ܝ ܒܢܝܡܝܢ ܐܚܘܢ ܐܘ ܢܫܠܐ ܘܐܡܪ ܡܪܝܐ ܣܩܘ ܡܛܠ ܕܡܚܪ ܡܫܠܡ ܐܢܐ ܠܗ ܒܐ̈ܝܕܝܟܘܢ
b'ydykwn lh 'n' mshlm dmkhr mTl sqw mry' w'mr nshl' 'w 'khwn bnymyn bny el lqrb' lmpq thwb nwsp w'mryn hnwn bywmth' qdmwhy hw' q'm khn' 'hrwn br 'lyezr br wpynkhs
and Phinehas, the son of Eleazar, the son of Aaron, stood before it in those days), saying, “Shall I yet again go out to battle against the children of Benjamin my brother, or shall I cease?” Yahweh said, “Go up; for tomorrow I will deliver him into your hand.”

ܘܐܟܡܢܘ ܒܢܝ̈ ܐܝܣܪܝܠ ܟܡܐܢܐ ܥܠ ܓܒܥ ܘܚܕܪܘܗ

Israel set ambushes all around Gibeah.

ܘܣܠܩܘ ܒܢ̈ܝ ܐܝܣܪܝܠ ܥܠ ܒܢ̈ܝ ܒܢܝܡܝܢ ܒܝܘܡܐ ܬܠܝܬܝܐ ܘܐܣܬܕܪܘ ܥܠ ܓܒܥ ܐܝܟ ܕܒܟܠܙܒܢ

The children of Israel went up against the children of Benjamin on the third day, and set themselves in array against Gibeah, as at other times.

ܘܢܦܩܘ ܒܢ̈ܝ ܒܢܝܡܝܢ ܠܐܘܪܥܗ ܕܥܡܐ ܘܐܬܢܦܨܘ ܡܢ ܩܪܝܬܐ ܘܫܪܝܘ ܕܢܪܡܘܢ ܡܢ ܥܡܐ ܩ̈ܛܝܠܐ ܐܝܟ ܕܒܟܠܙܒܢ ܒܫܒܝܠܐ ܚܕ ܕܣ̇ܠܩ ܠܓܒܥ ܘܚܕ ܠܒܝܬ ܐܝܠ ܒܚܩܠܐ ܐܝܟ ܬܠܬܝܢ ܓܒܪ̈ܝܢ ܡܢ ܐܝܣܪܝܠ
'ysryl mn gbryn thlthyn 'yk bkhql' 'yl lbyth wkhd lgbe dslq khd bshbyl' dbklzbn 'yk qTyl' em' mn dnrmwn wshryw qryth' mn w'thnptsw dem' l'wreh bnymyn bny wnpqw
The children of Benjamin went out against the people, and were drawn away from the city; and they began to strike and kill of the people as at other times, in the highways, of which one goes up to Bethel and the other to Gibeah, in the field, about thirty men of Israel.

ܘܐܡܪܘ ܒܢ̈ܝ ܒܢܝܡܝܢ ܡܬܬܒܪܝܢ ܐܢܘܢ ܡܢ ܩܕܡܝܢ ܐܝܟ ܕܒܩܕܡܝܬܐ ܘܒܢ̈ܝ ܐܝܣܪܝܠ ܐܡܪܘ ܢܥܪܘܩ ܘܢܦܩ ܐܢܘܢ ܡܢ ܩܪܝܬܐ ܠܫܒܝܠܐ
lshbyl' qryth' mn 'nwn wnpq nerwq 'mrw 'ysryl wbny dbqdmyth' 'yk qdmyn mn 'nwn mththbryn bnymyn bny w'mrw
The children of Benjamin said, “They are struck down before us, as at the first.” But the children of Israel said, “Let’s flee, and draw them away from the city to the highways.”

ܘܟܠܗܘܢ ܒܢ̈ܝ ܐܝܣܪܝܠ ܩܡܘ ܡܢ ܕܘܟܝ̈ܬܗܘܢ ܘܐܣܬܕܪܘ ܒܒܥܠ ܬܡܪ ܘܟܡܐܢܐ ܕܐܝܣܪܐܝܠ ܡܕܝܩ ܗܘܐ ܡܢ ܕܘܟܬܗ ܡܢ ܡܥܪܬܐ ܕܒܓܒܥ
dbgbe merth' mn dwkthh mn hw' mdyq d'ysr'yl wkm'n' thmr bbel w'sthdrw dwkythhwn mn qmw 'ysryl bny wklhwn
All the men of Israel rose up out of their place and set themselves in array at Baal Tamar. Then the ambushers of Israel broke out of their place, even out of Maareh Geba.

ܘܐܬܘ ܡܢ ܠܘܩܒܠ ܓܒܥ ܥܣܪܐ ܐ̈ܠܦܝܢ ܓܒܪ̈ܝܢ ܓܒܝ̈ܐ ܡܢ ܟܠܗ ܐܝܣܪܝܠ ܘܩܪܒܐ ܥܫܢ ܘܗܢܘܢ ܠܐ ܐܝܕܥܘ ܕܡܛܬ ܥܠܝܗܘܢ ܒܝܫܬܐ
byshth' elyhwn dmTth 'ydew l' whnwn eshn wqrb' 'ysryl klh mn gby' gbryn 'lpyn esr' gbe lwqbl mn w'thw
Ten thousand chosen men out of all Israel came over against Gibeah, and the battle was severe; but they didn’t know that disaster was close to them.

ܘܬܒܪܗ ܡܪܝܐ ܠܒܢܝܡܝܢ ܩܕܡ ܐܝܣܪܝܠ ܘܐܪܡܝܘ ܕܒܝܬ ܐܝܣܪܝܠ ܡܢ ܕܒܝܬ ܒܢܝܡܝܢ ܒܝܘܡܐ ܗܘ ܥܣܪ̈ܝܢ ܘܚܡܫܐ ܐ̈ܠܦܝܢ ܘܡܐܐ ܓܒܪ̈ܝܢ ܟܠܗܘܢ ܗܠܝܢ ܫܡ̈ܛܝ ܣܝܦܐ
syp' shmTy hlyn klhwn gbryn wm'' 'lpyn wkhmsh' esryn hw bywm' bnymyn dbyth mn 'ysryl dbyth w'rmyw 'ysryl qdm lbnymyn mry' wthbrh
Yahweh struck Benjamin before Israel; and the children of Israel destroyed of Benjamin that day twenty-five thousand one hundred men. All these drew the sword.

ܘܚܙܘ ܒܢ̈ܝ ܒܢܝܡܝܢ ܕܐܬܬܒܪܘ ܘܝܗܒܘ ܒܢܝ̈ ܐܝܣܪܝܠ ܐܬܪܐ ܠܓܒܪ̈ܐ ܕܒܢܝܡܝܢ ܡܛܠ ܕܐܬܬܟܠܘ ܥܠ ܟܡܐܢܐ ܕܐܬܟܡܢܘ ܥܠ ܓܒܥ
gbe el d'thkmnw km'n' el d'ththklw mTl dbnymyn lgbr' 'thr' 'ysryl bny wyhbw d'ththbrw bnymyn bny wkhzw
So the children of Benjamin saw that they were struck, for the men of Israel yielded to Benjamin because they trusted the ambushers whom they had set against Gibeah.

ܘܟܡܐܢܐ ܪܟܝܟܐܝܬ ܢܦܠ ܥܠ ܓܒܥ ܘܗܠܟ ܟܡܐܢܐ ܘܡܚܐ ܠܟܠܗ̇ ܩܪܝܬܐ ܒܦܘܡܐ ܕܚܪܒܐ
dkhrb' bpwm' qryth' lklh wmkh' km'n' whlk gbe el npl rkyk'yth wkm'n'
The ambushers hurried, and rushed on Gibeah; then the ambushers spread out, and struck all the city with the edge of the sword.

ܘܘܥܕܐ ܗܘܐ ܠܓܒܪ̈ܐ ܕܐܝܣܪܝܠ ܥܠ ܟܡܐܢܐ ܠܡܣܩܘ ܐܢܘܢ ܐܝܟ ܡܣܩ ܬܢܢܐ ܡܢ ܩܪܝܬܐ
qryth' mn thnn' msq 'yk 'nwn lmsqw km'n' el d'ysryl lgbr' hw' wwed'
Now the appointed sign between the men of Israel and the ambushers was that they should make a great cloud of smoke rise up out of the city.

ܘܗܦܟܘ ܓܒܪ̈ܐ ܕܐܝܣܪܝܠ ܡܢ ܩܪܒܐ ܘܒܢܝܡܝܢ ܫܪܝ ܕܢܪܡܐ ܩ̈ܛܝܠܐ ܡܢ ܐܝܣܪܝܠ ܬܠܬܝܢ ܓܒܪ̈ܝܢ ܡܛܠ ܕܐܡܪ̈ܝܢ ܡܬܬܒܪܘ ܡܬܬܒܪܝܢ ܡܢ ܩܕܡܝܢ ܐܝܟ ܕܒܩܪ̈ܒܐ ܩܕܡ̈ܝܐ

The men of Israel turned in the battle, and Benjamin began to strike and kill of the men of Israel about thirty persons; for they said, “Surely they are struck down before us, as in the first battle.”

ܘܬܢܢܐ ܫܪܝ ܕܢܣܩ ܡܢ ܩܪܝܬܐ ܐܝܟ ܥܡܘܕܐ ܘܐܬܦܢܝܘ ܒܢܝ̈ ܒܢܝܡܝܢ ܠܒܣܬܪܗܘܢ ܘܗܐ ܣܠܩ ܝܚܒܘܪܗ̇ ܕܩܪܝܬܐ ܠܫܡܝܐ
lshmy' dqryth' ykhbwrh slq wh' lbsthrhwn bnymyn bny w'thpnyw emwd' 'yk qryth' mn dnsq shry wthnn'
But when the cloud began to arise up out of the city in a pillar of smoke, the Benjamites looked behind them; and behold, the whole city went up in smoke to the sky.

ܘܓܒܪ̈ܐ ܕܐܝܣܪܝܠ ܗܦܟܘ ܥܠܝܗܘܢ ܘܕܚܠܘ ܓܒܪ̈ܐ ܕܒܢܝܡܝܢ ܡܛܠ ܕܚܙܘ ܕܩܪܒܬ ܥܠܝܗܘܢ ܒܝܫܬܐ

The men of Israel turned, and the men of Benjamin were dismayed; for they saw that disaster had come on them.

ܘܥܪܩܘ ܡܢ ܩܕܡ ܒܢ̈ܝ ܐܝܣܪܝܠ ܠܐܘܪܚܐ ܕܡܕܒܪܐ ܘܩܪܒܐ ܐܕܪܟ ܐܢܘܢ ܘܕܒܩܕܡܝܬܐ ܥܒܕ ܐܢܘܢ ܒܡܨܥܬܐ
bmtseth' 'nwn ebd wdbqdmyth' 'nwn 'drk wqrb' dmdbr' l'wrkh' 'ysryl bny qdm mn werqw
Therefore they turned their backs before the men of Israel to the way of the wilderness, but the battle followed hard after them; and those who came out of the cities destroyed them in the middle of it.

ܘܪܕܦܘܗܝ ܠܒܢܝܡܝܢ ܘܛܪܕܘܗܝ ܘܒܢܝܚܐ ܚܪܒܘܗܝ ܥܕܡܐ ܠܘܩܒܠ ܓܒܥ ܡܢ ܡܕܢܚ̈ܝ ܫܡܫܐ
shmsh' mdnkhy mn gbe lwqbl edm' khrbwhy wbnykh' wTrdwhy lbnymyn wrdpwhy
They surrounded the Benjamites, chased them, and trod them down at their resting place, as far as near Gibeah toward the sunrise.

ܘܢܦܠܘ ܡܢ ܒܢ̈ܝ ܒܢܝܡܝܢ ܬܡܢܬܥܣܪ̈ ܐ̈ܠܦܝܢ ܓܒܪ̈ܝܢ ܟܠܗܘܢ ܗܠܝܢ ܓܒܪ̈ܐ ܩܪ̈ܒܬܢܐ
qrbthn' gbr' hlyn klhwn gbryn 'lpyn thmnthesr bnymyn bny mn wnplw
Eighteen thousand men of Benjamin fell; all these were men of valor.

ܘܐܬܦܢܝܘ ܘܥܪܩܘ ܠܡܕܒܪܐ ܠܫܩܝܦܐ ܕܪܡܘܢ ܘܢܦܠܘ ܒܫܒܝܠܐ ܚܡܫܐ ܐ̈ܠܦܝܢ ܓܒܪ̈ܝܢ ܫܡ̈ܛܝ ܣܝܦܐ ܘܪܕܦܘ ܒܬܪܗܘܢ ܥܕܡܐ ܠܓܒܥܘܢ ܘܚܪܒܘ ܡܢܗܘܢ ܬܪ̈ܝܢ ܐ̈ܠܦܝܢ ܓܒܪ̈ܝܢ
gbryn 'lpyn thryn mnhwn wkhrbw lgbewn edm' bthrhwn wrdpw syp' shmTy gbryn 'lpyn khmsh' bshbyl' wnplw drmwn lshqyp' lmdbr' werqw w'thpnyw
They turned and fled toward the wilderness to the rock of Rimmon. They gleaned five thousand men of them in the highways, and followed hard after them to Gidom, and struck two thousand men of them.

ܘܟܠ ܕܢܦܠܘ ܡܢ ܒܢ̈ܝ ܒܢܝܡܝܢ ܥܣܪ̈ܝܢ ܘܚܡܫܐ ܐ̈ܠܦܝܢ ܓܒܪ̈ܝܢ ܫܡ̈ܛܝ ܣܝܦܐ ܒܝܘܡܐ ܗܘ ܟܠܗܘܢ ܓܒܪ̈ܐ ܚܝ̈ܠܬܢܐ

So that all who fell that day of Benjamin were twenty-five thousand men who drew the sword. All these were men of valor.

ܘܐܬܦܢܝܘ ܘܥܪܩܘ ܠܡܕܒܪܐ ܠܫܩܝܦܐ ܕܪܡܘܢ ܫܬܡܐܐ ܓܒܪ̈ܝܢ ܘܐܝܬܒܘ ܒܫܩܝܦܐ ܕܪܡܘܢ ܐܪ̈ܒܥܐ ܝܪ̈ܚܝܢ
yrkhyn 'rbe' drmwn bshqyp' w'ythbw gbryn shthm'' drmwn lshqyp' lmdbr' werqw w'thpnyw
But six hundred men turned and fled toward the wilderness to the rock of Rimmon, and stayed in the rock of Rimmon four months.

ܘܒܢ̈ܝ ܐܝܣܪܝܠ ܗܦܟܘ ܥܠ ܒ̈ܢܝ ܒܢܝܡܝܢ ܘܡܚܘ ܐܢܘܢ ܒܦܘܡܐ ܕܚܪܒܐ ܘܓܡܪܘ ܐܢܘܢ ܡܢ ܩܘܪ̈ܝܐ ܡܢ ܒܢ̈ܝ ܐܢܫܐ ܘܥܕܡܐ ܠܒܥܝܪܐ ܘܥܕܡܐ ܠܟܠ ܕܐܫܬܟܚ ܘܐܦ ܟܠܗܝܢ ܩܘܪ̈ܝܐ ܕܐܫܬܟܚ ܐܘܩܕܘ ܐܢܝ̈ܢ ܒܢܘܪܐ

The men of Israel turned again on the children of Benjamin, and struck them with the edge of the sword—including the entire city, the livestock, and all that they found. Moreover they set all the cities which they found on fire.
