1
ואתכנש אנש אפרים ועבר לצפונא ואמרו ליפתח מא דין עברתא לאגחא קרבא בבני עמון ולנא לא קריתא למיזל עמך ביתך נוקד עלך בנורא:
bnwra elk nwqd bythk emk lmyzl qrytha la wlna emwn bbny qrba lagkha ebrtha dyn ma lypthkh wamrw ltspwna webr aprym ansh wathknsh
The men of Ephraim were gathered together, and passed northward; and they said to Jephthah, “Why did you pass over to fight against the children of Ammon, and didn’t call us to go with you? We will burn your house around you with fire!”

ואמר יפתח להון אנש דין הויתי אנא ועמי ובני עמון לחדא ובעית אנא מנכון ולא פרקתון יתי מידהון:
mydhwn ythy prqthwn wla mnkwn ana wbeyth lkhda emwn wbny wemy ana hwythy dyn ansh lhwn ypthkh wamr
Jephthah said to them, “I and my people were at great strife with the children of Ammon; and when I called you, you didn’t save me out of their hand.

וחזית ארי ליתך פריק ומסרית נפשי כעל גב לאתקטלא ועברית לות בני עמון ומסרינון יי בידי ולמא סליקתון לותי יומא דין לאגחא קרבא בי:
by qrba lagkha dyn ywma lwthy slyqthwn wlma bydy yy wmsrynwn emwn bny lwth webryth lathqTla gb kel npshy wmsryth pryq lythk ary wkhzyth
When I saw that you didn’t save me, I put my life in my hand, and passed over against the children of Ammon, and Yahweh delivered them into my hand. Why then have you come up to me today, to fight against me?”

וכנש יפתח ית כל אנשי גלעד ואגיח קרבא עם דבית אפרים ומחו אנשי גלעד ית דבית אפרים ארי אמרו משיזביא דבית אפרים מה אתון חשיבין דבית גלעד בני בית אפרים בגו בית מנשה:
mnshh byth bgw aprym byth bny gled dbyth khshybyn athwn mh aprym dbyth mshyzbya amrw ary aprym dbyth yth gled anshy wmkhw aprym dbyth em qrba wagykh gled anshy kl yth ypthkh wknsh
Then Jephthah gathered together all the men of Gilead, and fought with Ephraim. The men of Gilead struck Ephraim, because they said, “You are fugitives of Ephraim, you Gileadites, in the middle of Ephraim, and in the middle of Manasseh.”

ואחדו דבית גלעד ית מגיזת ירדנא על דבית אפרים והוה כד אמר חד ממשיזביא דבית אפרים אעבר ואמרין ליה אנשי גלעד אפרתי את ואמר לא:

The Gileadites took the fords of the Jordan against the Ephraimites. Whenever a fugitive of Ephraim said, “Let me go over,” the men of Gilead said to him, “Are you an Ephraimite?” If he said, “No;”

ואמרין ליה אמר כען שובלתא ואמר סובלתא ולא מתקין למללא כן ואחדין ליה ונכסין ליה במזיגת ירדנא ואתקטלו בעידנא ההיא מאפרים ארבעין ותרין אלפין:
alpyn wthryn arbeyn maprym hhya beydna wathqTlw yrdna bmzygth lyh wnksyn lyh wakhdyn kn lmlla mthqyn wla swbltha wamr shwbltha ken amr lyh wamryn
then they said to him, “Now say ‘Shibboleth;’” and he said “Sibboleth”; for he couldn’t manage to pronounce it correctly, then they seized him and killed him at the fords of the Jordan. At that time, forty-two thousand of Ephraim fell.

ודן יפתח ית ישראל שית שנין ומית יפתח גלעדאה ואתקבר בקרוי גלעד:
gled bqrwy wathqbr gledah ypthkh wmyth shnyn shyth yshral yth ypthkh wdn
Jephthah judged Israel six years. Then Jephthah the Gileadite died, and was buried in the cities of Gilead.

ודן בתרוהי ית ישראל אבצן דמבית לחם:
lkhm dmbyth abtsn yshral yth bthrwhy wdn
After him Ibzan of Bethlehem judged Israel.

והוה ליה תלתין בנין ותלתין בנן שלח לברא ותלתין בנן כלן אעיל לבנוהי מן ברא ודן ית ישראל שבע שנין:
shnyn shbe yshral yth wdn bra mn lbnwhy aeyl kln bnn wthlthyn lbra shlkh bnn wthlthyn bnyn thlthyn lyh whwh
He had thirty sons. He sent his thirty daughters outside his clan, and he brought in thirty daughters from outside his clan for his sons. He judged Israel seven years.

ומית אבצן ואתקבר בבית לחם:
lkhm bbyth wathqbr abtsn wmyth
Ibzan died, and was buried at Bethlehem.

ודן בתרוהי ית ישראל אילון דמבית זבולן ודן ית ישראל עסר שנין:
shnyn esr yshral yth wdn zbwln dmbyth aylwn yshral yth bthrwhy wdn
After him, Elon the Zebulunite judged Israel; and he judged Israel ten years.
12
ומית אילון דבית זבולן ואתקבר באילון בארע זבולן:
zbwln bare baylwn wathqbr zbwln dbyth aylwn wmyth
Elon the Zebulunite died, and was buried in Aijalon in the land of Zebulun.

ודן בתרוהי ית ישראל עבדון בר הלל דמפרעתון:
dmprethwn hll br ebdwn yshral yth bthrwhy wdn
After him, Abdon the son of Hillel the Pirathonite judged Israel.

והוה ליה ארבעין בנין ותלתין בני בנין רכיבין על שבעין עילין ודן ית ישראל תמניא שנין:
shnyn thmnya yshral yth wdn eylyn shbeyn el rkybyn bnyn bny wthlthyn bnyn arbeyn lyh whwh
He had forty sons and thirty sons’ sons who rode on seventy donkey colts. He judged Israel eight years.
