ܘܩܡ ܡܢ ܒܬܪ ܐܒܝܡܠܟ ܠܡܦܪܩ ܠܐܝܣܪܝܠ ܬܘܠܥ ܒܪ ܦܘܐܐ ܒܪ ܕܕܗ ܓܒܪܐ ܡܢ ܐܝܣܟܪ ܘܗܘ ܝܬܒ ܗܘܐ ܒܫܡܝܪ ܛܘܪܐ ܕܐܦܪܝܡ
d'prym Twr' bshmyr hw' ythb whw 'yskr mn gbr' ddh br pw'' br thwle l'ysryl lmprq 'bymlk bthr mn wqm
After Abimelech, Tola the son of Puah, the son of Dodo, a man of Issachar, arose to save Israel. He lived in Shamir in the hill country of Ephraim.

ܘܕܢ ܠܐܝܣܪܐܝܠ ܥܣܪ̈ܝܢ ܘܬܠܬ ܫ̈ܢܝܢ ܘܡܝܬ ܘܐܬܩܒܪ ܒܫܡܝܪ
bshmyr w'thqbr wmyth shnyn wthlth esryn l'ysr'yl wdn
He judged Israel twenty-three years, and died, and was buried in Shamir.

ܘܩܡ ܡܢ ܒܬܪܗ ܝܐܝܪ ܓܠܥܕܝܐ ܘܕܢ ܠܐܝܣܪܝܠ ܥܣܪ̈ܝܢ ܘܬܪ̈ܬܝܢ ܫܢܝ̈ܢ
shnyn wthrthyn esryn l'ysryl wdn gledy' y'yr bthrh mn wqm
After him Jair, the Gileadite, arose. He judged Israel twenty-two years.

ܘܗܘܘ ܠܗ ܬܠܬܝܢ ܒܢܝ̈ܢ ܘܪ̈ܟܝܒܝܢ ܗܘܘ ܥܠ ܬܠܬܝܢ ܥܝ̈ܠܝܢ ܘܬܠܬܝܢ ܩܘܪ̈ܝܐ ܐܝܬ ܗ̈ܘܝ ܠܗܘܢ ܘܩܪܝܢ ܗܘܘ ܠܗܝܢ ܟܦܪ̈ܘܢܐ ܕܝܐܝܪ ܥܕܡܐ ܠܝܘܡܢܐ ܕܒܐܪܥܐ ܕܓܠܥܕ

He had thirty sons who rode on thirty donkey colts. They had thirty cities, which are called Havvoth Jair to this day, which are in the land of Gilead.

ܘܡܝܬ ܝܐܝܪ ܘܐܬܩܒܪ ܒܩܡܘܢ
bqmwn w'thqbr y'yr wmyth
Jair died, and was buried in Kamon.

ܘܐܘܣܦܘ ܒ̈ܢܝ ܐܝܣܪܝܠ ܠܡܥܒܕ ܕܒܝܫ ܩܕܡ ܡܪܝܐ ܘܦܠܚܘ ܠܒܥܠܐ ܘܠܐܣܬܪ̈ܬܐ ܘܠܐ̈ܠܗܐ ܕܐܕܘܡ ܘܠܐ̈ܠܗܐ ܕܨܝܕܢ ܘܠܐ̈ܠܗܐ ܕܡܘܐܒ ܘܠܐ̈ܠܗܐ ܕܒܢ̈ܝ ܥܡܘܢ ܘܠܐ̈ܠܗܐ ܕܦܠܫ̈ܬܝܐ ܘܠܐ̈ܠܗܐ ܕܫܪܟܐ ܕܥܡ̈ܡܐ ܘܫܒܩܘ ܠܡܪܝܐ ܘܠܐ ܦܠܚܘܗܝ

The children of Israel again did that which was evil in Yahweh’s sight, and served the Baals, the Ashtaroth, the gods of Syria, the gods of Sidon, the gods of Moab, the gods of the children of Ammon, and the gods of the Philistines. They abandoned Yahweh, and didn’t serve him.

ܘܐܬܚܡܬ ܪܘܓܙܗ ܕܡܪܝܐ ܥܠ ܐܝܣܪܝܠ ܘܐܫܠܡ ܐܢܘܢ ܒܐܝܕܐ ܕܦܠܫ̈ܬܝܐ ܘܒܐܝܕܐ ܕܒܢ̈ܝ ܥܡܘܢ
emwn dbny wb'yd' dplshthy' b'yd' 'nwn w'shlm 'ysryl el dmry' rwgzh w'thkhmth
Yahweh’s anger burned against Israel, and he sold them into the hand of the Philistines and into the hand of the children of Ammon.

ܘܥܨܘ ܘܐܠܨܘ ܠܒܢ̈ܝ ܐܝܣܪܝܠ ܡܢ ܗܝ ܫܢܬܐ ܬܡܢܥܣܪܐ ܫܢܝ̈ܢ ܠܟܠܗܘܢ ܒܢ̈ܝ ܐܝܣܪܝܠ ܕܒܥܒܪܐ ܕܝܘܪܕܢܢ ܒܐܪܥܐ ܕܐܡܘܪ̈ܝܐ ܕܒܓܠܥܕ
dbgled d'mwry' b're' dywrdnn dbebr' 'ysryl bny lklhwn shnyn thmnesr' shnth' hy mn 'ysryl lbny w'ltsw wetsw
They troubled and oppressed the children of Israel that year. For eighteen years they oppressed all the children of Israel that were beyond the Jordan in the land of the Amorites, which is in Gilead.

ܘܥܒܪܘ ܒܢ̈ܝ ܥܡܘܢ ܝܘܪܕܢܢ ܠܡܬܟܬܫܘ ܥܡ ܝܗܘܕܐ ܘܐܦ ܥܡ ܒܢ̈ܝ ܐܦܪܝܡ ܘܒܢܝܡܝܢ ܘܥܩܬ ܠܐܝܣܪܝܠ ܛܒ
Tb l'ysryl weqth wbnymyn 'prym bny em w'p yhwd' em lmthkthshw ywrdnn emwn bny webrw
The children of Ammon passed over the Jordan to fight also against Judah, and against Benjamin, and against the house of Ephraim, so that Israel was very distressed.

ܘܐܙܥܩܘ ܒ̈ܢܝ ܐܝܣܪܝܠ ܠܘܬ ܡܪܝܐ ܘܐܡܪ̈ܝܢ ܚܛܝܢ ܠܟ ܕܫܒܩܢ ܠܐܠܗܢ ܘܦܠܚܢ ܠܒܥܠܐ
lbel' wplkhn l'lhn dshbqn lk khTyn w'mryn mry' lwth 'ysryl bny w'zeqw
The children of Israel cried to Yahweh, saying, “We have sinned against you, even because we have forsaken our God, and have served the Baals.”

ܘܐܡܪ ܡܪܝܐ ܠܒܢ̈ܝ ܐܝܣܪܝܠ ܠܐ ܡܨܪ̈ܝܐ ܘܡܘܐ̈ܒܝܐ ܘܒܢ̈ܝ ܥܡܘܢ ܘܦܠܫ̈ܬܝܐ
wplshthy' emwn wbny wmw'by' mtsry' l' 'ysryl lbny mry' w'mr
Yahweh said to the children of Israel, “Didn’t I save you from the Egyptians, and from the Amorites, from the children of Ammon, and from the Philistines?

ܘܨܝ̈ܕܢܝܐ ܘܥܡܠܝܩ ܘܥܡܘܢ ܐܠܨܟܘܢ ܘܓܥܝܬܘܢ ܠܘܬܝ ܘܦܪܩܬܟܘܢ ܡܢ ܐ̈ܝܕܝܗܘܢ
'ydyhwn mn wprqthkwn lwthy wgeythwn 'ltskwn wemwn wemlyq wtsydny'
The Sidonians also, and the Amalekites, and the Maonites, oppressed you; and you cried to me, and I saved you out of their hand.

ܘܐܢܬܘܢ ܫܒܩܬܘܢܢܝ ܘܦܠܚܬܘܢ ܠܐ̈ܠܗܐ ܐܚܪ̈ܢܐ ܡܛܠ ܗܢܐ ܠܐ ܐܘܣܦ ܬܘܒ ܕܐܦܪܘܩܟܘܢ
d'prwqkwn thwb 'wsp l' hn' mTl 'khrn' l'lh' wplkhthwn shbqthwnny w'nthwn
Yet you have forsaken me and served other gods. Therefore I will save you no more.

ܙܠܘ ܨܠܘ ܠܘܬ ܐ̈ܠܗܐ ܕܨܒܝܬܘܢ ܒܗܘܢ ܗܢܘܢ ܢܗܘܘܢ ܠܟܘܢ ܦܪ̈ܘܩܐ ܒܙܒܢܐ ܕܥܩܬܟܘܢ
deqthkwn bzbn' prwq' lkwn nhwwn hnwn bhwn dtsbythwn 'lh' lwth tslw zlw
Go and cry to the gods which you have chosen. Let them save you in the time of your distress!”

ܘܐܡܪܘ ܒܢ̈ܝ ܐܝܣܪܝܠ ܠܡܪܝܐ ܚܛܝܢ ܠܟ ܐܢܬ ܥܒܕ ܠܢ ܡܕܡ ܕܫܦܝܪ ܒܥܝܢ̈ܝܟ ܒܠܚܘܕ ܦܨܢ ܝܘܡܢܐ
ywmn' ptsn blkhwd beynyk dshpyr mdm ln ebd 'nth lk khTyn lmry' 'ysryl bny w'mrw
The children of Israel said to Yahweh, “We have sinned! Do to us whatever seems good to you; only deliver us, please, today.”

ܘܐܦܪܩܘ ܒ̈ܢܝ ܐܝܣܪܝܠ ܐ̈ܠܗܐ ܢܘܟܪ̈ܝܐ ܡܢ ܒܝܢܬܗܘܢ ܘܦܠܚܘ ܠܡܪܝܐ ܡܛܠ ܕܐܬܬܥܝܩܬ ܢܦܫܗ ܕܐܝܣܪܝܠ
d'ysryl npshh d'ththeyqth mTl lmry' wplkhw bynthhwn mn nwkry' 'lh' 'ysryl bny w'prqw
They put away the foreign gods from among them and served Yahweh; and his soul was grieved for the misery of Israel.

ܘܐܬܟܢܫܘ ܒܢ̈ܝ ܥܡܘܢ ܘܫܪܘ ܒܓܠܥܕ ܘܐܬܟܢܫܘ ܒܢ̈ܝ ܐܝܣܪܝܠ ܘܫܪܘ ܒܡܨܦܝܐ
bmtspy' wshrw 'ysryl bny w'thknshw bgled wshrw emwn bny w'thknshw
Then the children of Ammon were gathered together and encamped in Gilead. The children of Israel assembled themselves together and encamped in Mizpah.

ܘܐܡܪܘ ܥܡܐ ܪ̈ܘܪܒܢܝ ܓܠܥܕ ܐܢܫ ܠܚܒܪܗ ܐܝܢܐ ܓܒܪܐ ܕܢܫܪܐ ܠܡܬܟܬܫܘ ܥܡ ܒܢ̈ܝ ܥܡܘܢ ܗܘ ܢܗܘܐ ܪܝܫܐ ܠܟܠ ܝ̈ܬܒܝ ܓܠܥܕ

The people, the princes of Gilead, said to one another, “Who is the man who will begin to fight against the children of Ammon? He shall be head over all the inhabitants of Gilead.”
