ויריחו אחידא הות בדשין דפרזלא ומתקפא בעברין דנחש מן קדם בני ישראל לית דנפק מנה למעבד קרבא ולית דעלל בגוה למשאל בשלמא:
bshlma lmshal bgwh dell wlyth qrba lmebd mnh dnpq lyth yshral bny qdm mn dnkhsh bebryn wmthqpa dprzla bdshyn hwth akhyda wyrykhw
Now Jericho was tightly shut up because of the children of Israel. No one went out, and no one came in.

ואמר יי ליהושיע חזי דמסרית בידך ית יריחו וית מלכה גברי חילא:
khyla gbry mlkh wyth yrykhw yth bydk dmsryth khzy lyhwshye yy wamr
Yahweh said to Joshua, “Behold, I have given Jericho into your hand, with its king and the mighty men of valor.

ותסחרון ית קרתא כל גברי עבדי קרבא אקיף ית קרתא זמנא חדא כדין תעבד שיתא יומין:
ywmyn shytha thebd kdyn khda zmna qrtha yth aqyp qrba ebdy gbry kl qrtha yth wthskhrwn
All of your men of war shall march around the city, going around the city once. You shall do this six days.

ושבעא כהניא יסבון שבעא שופריא דקרן דכריא קדם ארונא וביומא שביעאה תסחרון ית קרתא שבע זמנין וכהניא יתקעון בשופריא:
bshwprya ythqewn wkhnya zmnyn shbe qrtha yth thskhrwn shbyeah wbywma arwna qdm dkrya dqrn shwprya shbea ysbwn khnya wshbea
Seven priests shall bear seven trumpets of rams’ horns before the ark. On the seventh day, you shall march around the city seven times, and the priests shall blow the trumpets.

ויהי במיגד בקרן דכריא במשמעכון ית קל שופרא ייבבון כל עמא יבבא רבא ויפול שורא דקרתא ויתבלע תחותה ויסקון עמא גבר לקבליה:
lqblyh gbr ema wysqwn thkhwthh wythble dqrtha shwra wypwl rba ybba ema kl yybbwn shwpra ql yth bmshmekwn dkrya bqrn bmygd wyhy
It shall be that when they make a long blast with the ram’s horn, and when you hear the sound of the trumpet, all the people shall shout with a great shout; then the city wall will fall down flat, and the people shall go up, every man straight in front of him.”

וקרא יהושע בר נון לכהניא ואמר להון טולו ית ארון קימא דיי ושבעא כהניא יטלון שבעא שופריא דקרן דכריא קדם ארונא דיי:
dyy arwna qdm dkrya dqrn shwprya shbea yTlwn khnya wshbea dyy qyma arwn yth Twlw lhwn wamr lkhnya nwn br yhwshe wqra
Joshua the son of Nun called the priests, and said to them, “Take up the ark of the covenant, and let seven priests bear seven trumpets of rams’ horns before Yahweh’s ark.”

ואמר לעמא עברו ואקיפו ית קרתא ומזרזי חילא יעברון קדם ארונא דיי:
dyy arwna qdm yebrwn khyla wmzrzy qrtha yth waqypw ebrw lema wamr
They said to the people, “Advance! March around the city, and let the armed men pass on before Yahweh’s ark.”

והוה כד אמר יהושע לעמא ושבעא כהניא נסבין שבעא שופריא דקרן דכריא קדם ארונא דיי עברין ותקעין בשופריא וארון קימא דיי אזיל בתריהון:
bthryhwn azyl dyy qyma warwn bshwprya wthqeyn ebryn dyy arwna qdm dkrya dqrn shwprya shbea nsbyn khnya wshbea lema yhwshe amr kd whwh
It was so, that when Joshua had spoken to the people, the seven priests bearing the seven trumpets of rams’ horns before Yahweh advanced and blew the trumpets, and the ark of Yahweh’s covenant followed them.

ומזרזי חילא אזלן קדם כהניא תקעי שופריא ושבטא דבית דן אזל בתר ארונא וכהניא אזלין ותקעון בשופריא:
bshwprya wthqewn azlyn wkhnya arwna bthr azl dn dbyth wshbTa shwprya thqey khnya qdm azln khyla wmzrzy
The armed men went before the priests who blew the trumpets, and the ark went after them. The trumpets sounded as they went.

וית עמא פקיד יהושע למימר לא תיבבון ולא תשמעון ית קלכון ולא יפוק מפומכון פתגמא עד יומא דאימר לכון יביבו ותיבבון:
wthybbwn ybybw lkwn daymr ywma ed pthgma mpwmkwn ypwq wla qlkwn yth thshmewn wla thybbwn la lmymr yhwshe pqyd ema wyth
Joshua commanded the people, saying, “You shall not shout nor let your voice be heard, neither shall any word proceed out of your mouth until the day I tell you to shout. Then you shall shout.”

ואסחר ארונא דיי ית קרתא אקיף זמנא חדא ועלו במשריתא ובתו במשריתא:
bmshrytha wbthw bmshrytha welw khda zmna aqyp qrtha yth dyy arwna waskhr
So he caused Yahweh’s ark to go around the city, circling it once. Then they came into the camp, and stayed in the camp.

ואקדים יהושע בצפרא ונטלו כהניא ית ארונא דיי:
dyy arwna yth khnya wnTlw btspra yhwshe waqdym
Joshua rose early in the morning, and the priests took up Yahweh’s ark.

ושבעא כהניא נסיבו שבעא שופריא דקרן דכריא קדם ארונא דיי אזלין מיזל ותקעין בשופריא ומזרזי חילא אזלין קדמיהון ושבטא דבית דן אזיל בתר ארונא דיי וכהניא אזלין ותקעין בשופריא:
bshwprya wthqeyn azlyn wkhnya dyy arwna bthr azyl dn dbyth wshbTa qdmyhwn azlyn khyla wmzrzy bshwprya wthqeyn myzl azlyn dyy arwna qdm dkrya dqrn shwprya shbea nsybw khnya wshbea
The seven priests bearing the seven trumpets of rams’ horns in front of Yahweh’s ark went on continually, and blew the trumpets. The armed men went in front of them. The rear guard came after Yahweh’s ark. The trumpets sounded as they went.

ואסחרו ית קרתא ביומא תנינא זמנא חדא ותבו למשריתא כדין עבדו שתא יומין:
ywmyn shtha ebdw kdyn lmshrytha wthbw khda zmna thnyna bywma qrtha yth waskhrw
The second day they marched around the city once, and returned into the camp. They did this six days.

והוה ביומא שביעאה ואקדימו כמיסק צפרא ואסחרו ית קרתא כהלכתא הדין שבע זמנין לחוד ביומא ההוא אקיפו ית קרתא שבע זמנין:
zmnyn shbe qrtha yth aqypw hhwa bywma lkhwd zmnyn shbe hdyn khlktha qrtha yth waskhrw tspra kmysq waqdymw shbyeah bywma whwh
On the seventh day, they rose early at the dawning of the day, and marched around the city in the same way seven times. On this day only they marched around the city seven times.

והוה בזמנא שביעיתא תקעו כהניא בשופריא ואמר יהושע לעמא יביבו ארי יהב יי לכון ית קרתא:
qrtha yth lkwn yy yhb ary ybybw lema yhwshe wamr bshwprya khnya thqew shbyeytha bzmna whwh
At the seventh time, when the priests blew the trumpets, Joshua said to the people, “Shout, for Yahweh has given you the city!

ותהי קרתא חרמא היא וכל דבה קדם יי לחוד רחב פונדקיתא תחי היא וכל דעמה בביתא ארי אטמרת ית אזגדיא די שלחנא:
shlkhna dy azgdya yth aTmrth ary bbytha demh wkl hya thkhy pwndqytha rkhb lkhwd yy qdm dbh wkl hya khrma qrtha wthhy
The city shall be devoted, even it and all that is in it, to Yahweh. Only Rahab the prostitute shall live, she and all who are with her in the house, because she hid the messengers that we sent.

ולחוד אתון אסתמרו מן חרמא דלמא תחרמון ותסבון מן חרמא ותשוון ית משריתא דישראל לחרמא ותעכרון יתיה:
ythyh wthekrwn lkhrma dyshral mshrytha yth wthshwwn khrma mn wthsbwn thkhrmwn dlma khrma mn asthmrw athwn wlkhwd
But as for you, only keep yourselves from what is devoted to destruction, lest when you have devoted it, you take of the devoted thing; so you would make the camp of Israel accursed and trouble it.

וכל כספא ודהבא ומני נחשא וברזלא קודשא אינון קדם יי לאוצר בית מקדשא דיי יתעלון:
ythelwn dyy mqdsha byth lawtsr yy qdm aynwn qwdsha wbrzla nkhsha wmny wdhba kspa wkl
But all the silver, gold, and vessels of bronze and iron are holy to Yahweh. They shall come into Yahweh’s treasury.”

ויביבו עמא ותקעו בשופריא והוה כד שמע עמא ית קל שפרא ויביבו עמא יבבא רבא ונפל שורא דקרתא ואתבלע תחותוהי וסליק עמא לקרתא גבר לקבליה וכבשו ית קרתא:
qrtha yth wkbshw lqblyh gbr lqrtha ema wslyq thkhwthwhy wathble dqrtha shwra wnpl rba ybba ema wybybw shpra ql yth ema shme kd whwh bshwprya wthqew ema wybybw
So the people shouted and the priests blew the trumpets. When the people heard the sound of the trumpet, the people shouted with a great shout, and the wall fell down flat, so that the people went up into the city, every man straight in front of him, and they took the city.
21
וגמרו ית כל דבקרתא מגבר ועד אתא מעולימא ועד סבא ועד תור ואמר וחמר לפתגם דחרב:
dkhrb lpthgm wkhmr wamr thwr wed sba wed mewlyma atha wed mgbr dbqrtha kl yth wgmrw
They utterly destroyed all that was in the city, both man and woman, both young and old, and ox, sheep, and donkey, with the edge of the sword.

ולתרין גבריא דאלילו ית ארעא אמר יהושע עלו לבית אתתא פונדקיתא ואפיקו מתמן ית אתתא וית כל די לה כמא דקימתון לה:
lh dqymthwn kma lh dy kl wyth aththa yth mthmn wapyqw pwndqytha aththa lbyth elw yhwshe amr area yth dalylw gbrya wlthryn
Joshua said to the two men who had spied out the land, “Go into the prostitute’s house, and bring the woman and all that she has out from there, as you swore to her.”

ועלו עולמיא מאלליא ואפיקו ית רחב וית אבוהא וית אמה וית אחוהא וית כל די לה וית כל זרעיתהא אפיקו ואשרונון מברא למשריתא דישראל:
dyshral lmshrytha mbra washrwnwn apyqw zreythha kl wyth lh dy kl wyth akhwha wyth amh wyth abwha wyth rkhb yth wapyqw mallya ewlmya welw
The young men who were spies went in, and brought out Rahab with her father, her mother, her brothers, and all that she had. They also brought out all of her relatives, and they set them outside of the camp of Israel.

וקרתא אוקידו בנורא וכל די בה לחוד כספא ודהבא ומאני נחשא וברזלא יהבו באוצר בית מקדשא דיי:
dyy mqdsha byth bawtsr yhbw wbrzla nkhsha wmany wdhba kspa lkhwd bh dy wkl bnwra awqydw wqrtha
They burned the city with fire, and all that was in it. Only they put the silver, the gold, and the vessels of bronze and of iron into the treasury of Yahweh’s house.

וית רחב פונדקיתא וית בית אבוהא וית כל די לה קים יהושע ויתיבת בגו ישראל עד יומא הדין ארי אטמרת ית אזגדיא דשלח יהושע לאללא ית ארעא:
area yth lalla yhwshe dshlkh azgdya yth aTmrth ary hdyn ywma ed yshral bgw wythybth yhwshe qym lh dy kl wyth abwha byth wyth pwndqytha rkhb wyth
But Rahab the prostitute, her father’s household, and all that she had, Joshua saved alive. She lives in the middle of Israel to this day, because she hid the messengers whom Joshua sent to spy out Jericho.

ואומי יהושע בעידנא ההיא למימר ליט גברא קדם יי דיקום ויבני ית קרתא הדא ית יריחו בבכוריה ישכללינה ובזעיר בנוהי יקים דשהא:
dshha yqym bnwhy wbzeyr yshkllynh bbkwryh yrykhw yth hda qrtha yth wybny dyqwm yy qdm gbra lyT lmymr hhya beydna yhwshe wawmy
Joshua commanded them with an oath at that time, saying, “Cursed is the man before Yahweh who rises up and builds this city Jericho. With the loss of his firstborn he will lay its foundation, and with the loss of his youngest son he will set up its gates.”
