ואקדים יהושע בצפרא ונטלו משטין ואתו עד ירדנא הוא וכל בני ישראל ובתו תמן קדם יעברון:
yebrwn qdm thmn wbthw yshral bny wkl hwa yrdna ed wathw mshTyn wnTlw btspra yhwshe waqdym
Joshua got up early in the morning; and they moved from Shittim and came to the Jordan, he and all the children of Israel. They camped there before they crossed over.

והוה מסוף תלתא יומין ועברו סרכיא בגו משריתא:
mshrytha bgw srkya webrw ywmyn thltha mswp whwh
After three days, the officers went through the middle of the camp;

ופקידו ית עמא למימר במחזיכון ית ארון קימא דיי אלהכון וכהניא לואי נטלין יתיה ואתון תטלון מאתריכון ותהכון בתרוהי:
bthrwhy wthhkwn mathrykwn thTlwn wathwn ythyh nTlyn lway wkhnya alhkwn dyy qyma arwn yth bmkhzykwn lmymr ema yth wpqydw
and they commanded the people, saying, “When you see the ark of Yahweh your God’s covenant, and the Levitical priests bearing it, then leave your place and follow it.

ברם רחיק יהי ביניכון ובינוהי כתרין אלפין אמין במשחתא לא תקרבון לותיה בדיל דתידעון ית אורחא די תהכון בה ארי לא עברתון באורחא מאתמלי ומדקמוהי:
wmdqmwhy mathmly bawrkha ebrthwn la ary bh thhkwn dy awrkha yth dthydewn bdyl lwthyh thqrbwn la bmshkhtha amyn alpyn kthryn wbynwhy bynykwn yhy rkhyq brm
Yet there shall be a space between you and it of about two thousand cubits by measure—don’t come closer to it—that you may know the way by which you must go; for you have not passed this way before.”

ואמר יהושע לעמא אזדמנו ארי מחר יעבד יי ביניכון פרישן:
pryshn bynykwn yy yebd mkhr ary azdmnw lema yhwshe wamr
Joshua said to the people, “Sanctify yourselves; for tomorrow Yahweh will do wonders among you.”

ואמר יהושע לכהניא למימר טולו ית ארון קימא ועברו קדם עמא ונטלו ית ארונא דקימא ואזלו קדם עמא:
ema qdm wazlw dqyma arwna yth wnTlw ema qdm webrw qyma arwn yth Twlw lmymr lkhnya yhwshe wamr
Joshua spoke to the priests, saying, “Take up the ark of the covenant, and cross over before the people.” They took up the ark of the covenant, and went before the people.

ואמר יי ליהושע יומא הדין אשרי לרביותך בעיני כל ישראל דידעין ארי במא דהוה מימרי בסעדיה דמשה כן יהי מימרי בסעדך:
bsedk mymry yhy kn dmshh bsedyh mymry dhwh bma ary dydeyn yshral kl beyny lrbywthk ashry hdyn ywma lyhwshe yy wamr
Yahweh said to Joshua, “Today I will begin to magnify you in the sight of all Israel, that they may know that as I was with Moses, so I will be with you.

ואת תפקד ית כהניא נטלי ארונא דקימא למימר כממטיכון עד קצת מי ירדנא בירדנא תקומון:
thqwmwn byrdna yrdna my qtsth ed kmmTykwn lmymr dqyma arwna nTly khnya yth thpqd wath
You shall command the priests who bear the ark of the covenant, saying, ‘When you come to the brink of the waters of the Jordan, you shall stand still in the Jordan.’”

ואמר יהושע לבני ישראל אתקריבו הלכא ושמעו ית פתגמיא דיי אלהכון:
alhkwn dyy pthgmya yth wshmew hlka athqrybw yshral lbny yhwshe wamr
Joshua said to the children of Israel, “Come here, and hear the words of Yahweh your God.”

ואמר יהושע בדא תדעון ארי אלה קים אתרעי לאשראה שכנתיה ביניכון ותרכא יתרך מן קדמיכון ית כנענאי וית חתאי וית חואי וית פריזאי וית גרגשאי ואמוראי ויבוסאי:
wybwsay wamwray grgshay wyth pryzay wyth khway wyth khthay wyth knenay yth qdmykwn mn ythrk wthrka bynykwn shknthyh lashrah athrey qym alh ary thdewn bda yhwshe wamr
Joshua said, “By this you shall know that the living God is among you, and that he will without fail drive the Canaanite, the Hittite, the Hivite, the Perizzite, the Girgashite, the Amorite, and the Jebusite out from before you.

הא ארון קימא דרבון כל ארעא עבר קדמיכון בירדנא:
byrdna qdmykwn ebr area kl drbwn qyma arwn ha
Behold, the ark of the covenant of the Lord of all the earth passes over before you into the Jordan.
12
וכען דברו לכון תרי עסר גברין משבטיא דישראל גברא חד גברא חד לשבטא:
lshbTa khd gbra khd gbra dyshral mshbTya gbryn esr thry lkwn dbrw wken
Now therefore take twelve men out of the tribes of Israel, for every tribe a man.
13
ויהי כמנח פרסת רגלי כהניא נטלי ארונא דיי רבון כל ארעא במי ירדנא מי ירדנא יפסקון מיא דנחתין מלעילא ויקומון רוקבא חד:
khd rwqba wyqwmwn mleyla dnkhthyn mya ypsqwn yrdna my yrdna bmy area kl rbwn dyy arwna nTly khnya rgly prsth kmnkh wyhy
It shall be that when the soles of the feet of the priests who bear the ark of Yahweh, the Lord of all the earth, rest in the waters of the Jordan, that the waters of the Jordan will be cut off. The waters that come down from above shall stand in one heap.”

והוה כד נטלו עמא מקרויהון למעבר ית ירדנא וכהניא נטלי ארונא דקימא קדם עמא:
ema qdm dqyma arwna nTly wkhnya yrdna yth lmebr mqrwyhwn ema nTlw kd whwh
When the people moved from their tents to pass over the Jordan, the priests who bore the ark of the covenant being before the people,

וכממטי נטלי ארונא עד ירדנא ורגלי כהניא נטלי ארונא טבילא בקצת מיא וירדנא מלי על כל כפוהי כל יומי חצדא:
khtsda ywmy kl kpwhy kl el mly wyrdna mya bqtsth Tbyla arwna nTly khnya wrgly yrdna ed arwna nTly wkmmTy
and when those who bore the ark had come to the Jordan, and the feet of the priests who bore the ark had dipped in the edge of the water (for the Jordan overflows all its banks all the time of harvest),

וקמו מיא דנחתין מלעילא קמו רוקבא חד רחיקין לחדא מאדם קרתא דבסטר צרתן ודנחתין לימא דמישרא לימא דמלחא שלימו פסקו ועמא עברו לקביל יריחו:
yrykhw lqbyl ebrw wema psqw shlymw dmlkha lyma dmyshra lyma wdnkhthyn tsrthn dbsTr qrtha madm lkhda rkhyqyn khd rwqba qmw mleyla dnkhthyn mya wqmw
the waters which came down from above stood, and rose up in one heap a great way off, at Adam, the city that is beside Zarethan; and those that went down toward the sea of the Arabah, even the Salt Sea, were wholly cut off. Then the people passed over near Jericho.

וקמו כהניא נטלי ארון קימא דיי ביבשתא בגו ירדנא מתקניא וכל ישראל עברין ביבשתא עד דשלימו כל עמא למעבר ית ירדנא:
yrdna yth lmebr ema kl dshlymw ed bybshtha ebryn yshral wkl mthqnya yrdna bgw bybshtha dyy qyma arwn nTly khnya wqmw
The priests who bore the ark of Yahweh’s covenant stood firm on dry ground in the middle of the Jordan; and all Israel crossed over on dry ground, until all the nation had passed completely over the Jordan.
