בכן קרא יהושע לשבטא דראובן ולשבטא דגד ולפלגות שבטא דמנשה:
dmnshh shbTa wlplgwth dgd wlshbTa drawbn lshbTa yhwshe qra bkn
Then Joshua called the Reubenites, the Gadites, and the half-tribe of Manasseh,

ואמר להון אתון נטרתון ית כל דפקד יתכון משה עבדא דיי וקבילתון למימרי לכל די פקדית יתכון:
ythkwn pqdyth dy lkl lmymry wqbylthwn dyy ebda mshh ythkwn dpqd kl yth nTrthwn athwn lhwn wamr
and said to them, “You have kept all that Moses the servant of Yahweh commanded you, and have listened to my voice in all that I commanded you.

לא שבקתון ית אחוכון דנן יומין סגיאין עד יומא הדין ונטרתון ית מטרת תפקידתא ממרא דיי אלהכון:
alhkwn dyy mmra thpqydtha mTrth yth wnTrthwn hdyn ywma ed sgyayn ywmyn dnn akhwkwn yth shbqthwn la
You have not left your brothers these many days to this day, but have performed the duty of the commandment of Yahweh your God.

וכען אניח יי אלהכון לאחוכון כמא די מליל להון וכען אתפניאו ואזילו לכון לקרויכון לארעא אחסנתכון דיהב לכון משה עבדא דיי בעברא דירדנא:
dyrdna bebra dyy ebda mshh lkwn dyhb akhsnthkwn larea lqrwykwn lkwn wazylw athpnyaw wken lhwn mlyl dy kma lakhwkwn alhkwn yy anykh wken
Now Yahweh your God has given rest to your brothers, as he spoke to them. Therefore now return and go to your tents, to the land of your possession, which Moses the servant of Yahweh gave you beyond the Jordan.

לחוד אסתמרו לחדא למעבד ית תפקדתא וית אוריתא די פקיד יתכון משה עבדא דיי למרחם ית יי אלהכון ולמהך בכל אורחן דתקנן קדמוהי ולמטר פקודהי ולאתקרבא לדחלתיה ולמפלח קדמוהי בכל לבכון ובכל נפשכון:
npshkwn wbkl lbkwn bkl qdmwhy wlmplkh ldkhlthyh wlathqrba pqwdhy wlmTr qdmwhy dthqnn awrkhn bkl wlmhk alhkwn yy yth lmrkhm dyy ebda mshh ythkwn pqyd dy awrytha wyth thpqdtha yth lmebd lkhda asthmrw lkhwd
Only take diligent heed to do the commandment and the law which Moses the servant of Yahweh commanded you, to love Yahweh your God, to walk in all his ways, to keep his commandments, to hold fast to him, and to serve him with all your heart and with all your soul.”

וברכינון יהושע ושלחינון ואזלו לקרויהון:
lqrwyhwn wazlw wshlkhynwn yhwshe wbrkynwn
So Joshua blessed them, and sent them away; and they went to their tents.

ולפלגות שבטא דמנשה יהב משה במתנן ולפלגיהון יהב יהושע עם אחיהון בעברא דירדנא למערבא ואף ארי שלחינון יהושע לקרויהון וברכינון:
wbrkynwn lqrwyhwn yhwshe shlkhynwn ary wap lmerba dyrdna bebra akhyhwn em yhwshe yhb wlplgyhwn bmthnn mshh yhb dmnshh shbTa wlplgwth
Now to the one half-tribe of Manasseh Moses had given inheritance in Bashan; but Joshua gave to the other half among their brothers beyond the Jordan westward. Moreover when Joshua sent them away to their tents, he blessed them,

ואמר להון למימר בנכסין סגיאין תובו לקרויכון ובבעירא סגי לחדא בכספא ובדהבא ובנחשא ובפרזלא ובלבושין סגי לחדא פליגו בזת בעלי דבביכון עם אחיכון:
akhykwn em dbbykwn bely bzth plygw lkhda sgy wblbwshyn wbprzla wbnkhsha wbdhba bkspa lkhda sgy wbbeyra lqrwykwn thwbw sgyayn bnksyn lmymr lhwn wamr
and spoke to them, saying, “Return with much wealth to your tents, with very much livestock, with silver, with gold, with bronze, with iron, and with very much clothing. Divide the plunder of your enemies with your brothers.”

ותבו ואזלו בני ראובן ובני גד ופלגות שבטא דמנשה מלות בני ישראל משלה די בארעא דכנען למיזל לארעא דגלעד לארעא אחסנתהון דאחסינו בה על מימרא דיי בידא דמשה:
dmshh byda dyy mymra el bh dakhsynw akhsnthhwn larea dgled larea lmyzl dknen barea dy mshlh yshral bny mlwth dmnshh shbTa wplgwth gd wbny rawbn bny wazlw wthbw
The children of Reuben and the children of Gad and the half-tribe of Manasseh returned, and departed from the children of Israel out of Shiloh, which is in the land of Canaan, to go to the land of Gilead, to the land of their possession, which they owned, according to the commandment of Yahweh by Moses.

ואתו לגלילי ירדנא די בארעא דכנען ובנו בני ראובן ובני גד ופלגות שבטא דמנשה תמן מדבחא על ירדנא מדבח רב למחזי:
lmkhzy rb mdbkh yrdna el mdbkha thmn dmnshh shbTa wplgwth gd wbny rawbn bny wbnw dknen barea dy yrdna lglyly wathw
When they came to the region near the Jordan, that is in the land of Canaan, the children of Reuben and the children of Gad and the half-tribe of Manasseh built an altar there by the Jordan, a great altar to look at.

ושמעו בני ישראל למימר הא בנו בני ראובן ובני גד ופלגות שבטא דמנשה ית מדבחא לקביל ארעא דכנען בגלילי ירדנא דלעבר בני ישראל:
yshral bny dlebr yrdna bglyly dknen area lqbyl mdbkha yth dmnshh shbTa wplgwth gd wbny rawbn bny bnw ha lmymr yshral bny wshmew
The children of Israel heard this, “Behold, the children of Reuben and the children of Gad and the half-tribe of Manasseh have built an altar along the border of the land of Canaan, in the region around the Jordan, on the side that belongs to the children of Israel.”

ושמעו בני ישראל ואתכנישו כל כנשתא דבני ישראל לשלה למיסק עליהון לחילא:
lkhyla elyhwn lmysq lshlh yshral dbny knshtha kl wathknyshw yshral bny wshmew
When the children of Israel heard of it, the whole congregation of the children of Israel gathered themselves together at Shiloh, to go up against them to war.

ושלחו בני ישראל לות בני ראובן ולות בני גד ולות פלגות שבטא דמנשה לארעא גלעד ית פנחס בר אלעזר כהנא:
khna alezr br pnkhs yth gled larea dmnshh shbTa plgwth wlwth gd bny wlwth rawbn bny lwth yshral bny wshlkhw
The children of Israel sent to the children of Reuben, and to the children of Gad, and to the half-tribe of Manasseh, into the land of Gilead, Phinehas the son of Eleazar the priest.

ועשרא רברבין עמיה רבא חד רבא חד לבית אבא לכל שבטיא דישראל וגבר ריש בית אבהתהון אינון לאלפיא דישראל:
dyshral lalpya aynwn abhthhwn byth rysh wgbr dyshral shbTya lkl aba lbyth khd rba khd rba emyh rbrbyn weshra
With him were ten princes, one prince of a fathers’ house for each of the tribes of Israel; and they were each head of their fathers’ houses among the thousands of Israel.

ואתו לות בני ראובן ולות בני גד ולות פלגות שבטא דמנשה לארעא דגלעד ומלילו עמהון למימר:
lmymr emhwn wmlylw dgled larea dmnshh shbTa plgwth wlwth gd bny wlwth rawbn bny lwth wathw
They came to the children of Reuben, and to the children of Gad, and to the half-tribe of Manasseh, to the land of Gilead, and they spoke with them, saying,

כדין אמרו כל כנשתא דיי מא שקרא הדין די שקרתון במימרא דאלהא ישראל למיתב יומא דין מבתר פולחנא דיי במבנכן לכון מדבחא לממרדכון יומא דין במימרא דיי:
dyy bmymra dyn ywma lmmrdkwn mdbkha lkwn bmbnkn dyy pwlkhna mbthr dyn ywma lmythb yshral dalha bmymra shqrthwn dy hdyn shqra ma dyy knshtha kl amrw kdyn
“The whole congregation of Yahweh says, ‘What trespass is this that you have committed against the God of Israel, to turn away today from following Yahweh, in that you have built yourselves an altar, to rebel today against Yahweh?

הזעיר לנא ית חובא דפעור דלא אדכינא מניה עד יומא הדין והות מחתא בכנשתא דיי:
dyy bknshtha mkhtha whwth hdyn ywma ed mnyh adkyna dla dpewr khwba yth lna hzeyr
Is the iniquity of Peor too little for us, from which we have not cleansed ourselves to this day, although there came a plague on the congregation of Yahweh,

ואתון תתובון יומא דין מבתר פולחנא דיי ויהי אתון תמרדון יומא דין במימרא דיי ומחר על כל כנשתא דישראל יהי רוגזא:
rwgza yhy dyshral knshtha kl el wmkhr dyy bmymra dyn ywma thmrdwn athwn wyhy dyy pwlkhna mbthr dyn ywma ththwbwn wathwn
that you must turn away today from following Yahweh? It will be, since you rebel today against Yahweh, that tomorrow he will be angry with the whole congregation of Israel.
19
וברם אם מסאבא ארע אחסנתכון עברו לכון לארע אחסנת עמא דיי די שרא תמן משכנא דיי ואחסינו ביננא ובמימרא דיי לא תמרדון ובנא לא תמרדון במבניכון לכון מדבחא בר ממדבחא דיי אלהנא:
alhna dyy mmdbkha br mdbkha lkwn bmbnykwn thmrdwn la wbna thmrdwn la dyy wbmymra bynna wakhsynw dyy mshkna thmn shra dy dyy ema akhsnth lare lkwn ebrw akhsnthkwn are msaba am wbrm
However, if the land of your possession is unclean, then pass over to the land of the possession of Yahweh, in which Yahweh’s tabernacle dwells, and take possession among us; but don’t rebel against Yahweh, nor rebel against us, in building an altar other than Yahweh our God’s altar.

הלא עכן בר זרח שקר שקרא בחרמא ועל כל כנשתא דישראל הוה רוגזא והוא גברא חד לא מית בחוביה:
bkhwbyh myth la khd gbra whwa rwgza hwh dyshral knshtha kl wel bkhrma shqra shqr zrkh br ekn hla
Didn’t Achan the son of Zerah commit a trespass in the devoted thing, and wrath fell on all the congregation of Israel? That man didn’t perish alone in his iniquity.’”

ואתיבו בני ראובן ובני גד ופלגות שבטא דמנשה ומלילו עם רישי אלפיא דישראל:
dyshral alpya ryshy em wmlylw dmnshh shbTa wplgwth gd wbny rawbn bny wathybw
Then the children of Reuben and the children of Gad and the half-tribe of Manasseh answered, and spoke to the heads of the thousands of Israel,

אל אלהים יי אל אלהים יי קדמוהי ידיע וישראל בסופא ידע אם במרדא ואם בשקרא שקרנא במימרא דיי לא תפרקיננא יומא הדין:
hdyn ywma thprqynna la dyy bmymra shqrna bshqra wam bmrda am yde bswpa wyshral ydye qdmwhy yy alhym al yy alhym al
“The Mighty One, God, Yahweh, the Mighty One, God, Yahweh, he knows; and Israel shall know: if it was in rebellion, or if in trespass against Yahweh (don’t save us today),
23
למבנא לנא מדבחא למיתב מבתר פולחנא דיי ואם לאסקא עלוהי עלתא ומנחתא ואם למעבד עלוהי נכסת קודשין יי הוא יתבע:
ythbe hwa yy qwdshyn nksth elwhy lmebd wam wmnkhtha eltha elwhy lasqa wam dyy pwlkhna mbthr lmythb mdbkha lna lmbna
that we have built us an altar to turn away from following Yahweh; or if to offer burnt offering or meal offering, or if to offer sacrifices of peace offerings, let Yahweh himself require it.
24
ואם לא מיוצפא מפתגם עבדנא ית דא למימר מחר יימרון בניכון לבננא למימר לית לכון חולק במימרא דיי אלהא דישראל:
dyshral alha dyy bmymra khwlq lkwn lyth lmymr lbnna bnykwn yymrwn mkhr lmymr da yth ebdna mpthgm mywtspa la wam
“If we have not out of concern done this, and for a reason, saying, ‘In time to come your children might speak to our children, saying, “What have you to do with Yahweh, the God of Israel?

ותחומא יהב יי ביננא וביניכון בני ראובן ובני גד ית ירדנא לית לכון חולק במימרא דיי ויבטלון בניכון ית בננא בדיל דלא למדחל מן קדם יי:
yy qdm mn lmdkhl dla bdyl bnna yth bnykwn wybTlwn dyy bmymra khwlq lkwn lyth yrdna yth gd wbny rawbn bny wbynykwn bynna yy yhb wthkhwma
For Yahweh has made the Jordan a border between us and you, you children of Reuben and children of Gad. You have no portion in Yahweh.”’ So your children might make our children cease from fearing Yahweh.
26
ואמרנא נעביד כען לנא למבני ית מדבחא לא לעלתא ולא לנכסת קודשיא:
qwdshya lnksth wla leltha la mdbkha yth lmbny lna ken nebyd wamrna
“Therefore we said, ‘Let’s now prepare to build ourselves an altar, not for burnt offering, nor for sacrifice;

ארי סהיד הוא ביננא וביניכון ובין דרנא בתרנא למפלח ית פולחנא דיי קדמוהי בעלותנא ובדבחנא ובנכסת קודשנא ולא ימרון בניכון לבננא מחר לית לכון חולק במימרא דיי:
dyy bmymra khwlq lkwn lyth mkhr lbnna bnykwn ymrwn wla qwdshna wbnksth wbdbkhna belwthna qdmwhy dyy pwlkhna yth lmplkh bthrna drna wbyn wbynykwn bynna hwa shyd ary
but it will be a witness between us and you, and between our generations after us, that we may perform the service of Yahweh before him with our burnt offerings, with our sacrifices, and with our peace offerings;’ that your children may not tell our children in time to come, ‘You have no portion in Yahweh.’
28
ואמרנא ויהי ארי יימרון לנא ולדרנא מחר ונימר חזו ית דמות מדבחא דיי די עבדו אבהתנא לא לעלתא ולא לנכסת קודשיא ארי סהיד הוא ביננא וביניכון:
wbynykwn bynna hwa shyd ary qwdshya lnksth wla leltha la abhthna ebdw dy dyy mdbkha dmwth yth khzw wnymr mkhr wldrna lna yymrwn ary wyhy wamrna
“Therefore we said, ‘It shall be, when they tell us or our generations this in time to come, that we shall say, “Behold the pattern of Yahweh’s altar, which our fathers made, not for burnt offering, nor for sacrifice; but it is a witness between us and you.”’
29
חס לנא מננא מלמחטי קדמוהי מלמרד במימרא דיי ולמיתב יומא דין מבתר פולחנא דיי למבני מדבחא לעלתא למנחתא ולנכסת קודשיא בר ממדבחא דיי אלהנא די קדם משכניה:
mshknyh qdm dy alhna dyy mmdbkha br qwdshya wlnksth lmnkhtha leltha mdbkha lmbny dyy pwlkhna mbthr dyn ywma wlmythb dyy bmymra mlmrd qdmwhy mlmkhTy mnna lna khs
“Far be it from us that we should rebel against Yahweh, and turn away today from following Yahweh, to build an altar for burnt offering, for meal offering, or for sacrifice, besides Yahweh our God’s altar that is before his tabernacle!”
30
ושמע פינחס כהנא ורברבי כנשתא ורישי אלפיא דישראל די עמיה ית פתגמיא די מלילו בני ראובן ובני גד ובני מנשה ושפר בעיניהון:
beynyhwn wshpr mnshh wbny gd wbny rawbn bny mlylw dy pthgmya yth emyh dy dyshral alpya wryshy knshtha wrbrby khna pynkhs wshme
When Phinehas the priest, and the princes of the congregation, even the heads of the thousands of Israel that were with him, heard the words that the children of Reuben and the children of Gad and the children of Manasseh spoke, it pleased them well.
31
ואמר פינחס בר אלעזר כהנא לבני ראובן ולבני גד ולבני מנשה יומא דין ידענא ארי ביננא שריא שכינתא דיי דלא שקרתון במימרא דיי שקרא הדין בכן שיזבתון ית בני ישראל מיד מימרא דיי:
dyy mymra myd yshral bny yth shyzbthwn bkn hdyn shqra dyy bmymra shqrthwn dla dyy shkyntha shrya bynna ary ydena dyn ywma mnshh wlbny gd wlbny rawbn lbny khna alezr br pynkhs wamr
Phinehas the son of Eleazar the priest said to the children of Reuben, to the children of Gad, and to the children of Manasseh, “Today we know that Yahweh is among us, because you have not committed this trespass against Yahweh. Now you have delivered the children of Israel out of Yahweh’s hand.”

ותב פינחס בר אלעזר כהנא ורברביא מלות בני ראובן ומלות בני גד מארעא גלעד לארעא דכנען לות בני ישראל ואתיבו יתהון פתגמא:
pthgma ythhwn wathybw yshral bny lwth dknen larea gled marea gd bny wmlwth rawbn bny mlwth wrbrbya khna alezr br pynkhs wthb
Phinehas the son of Eleazar the priest, and the princes, returned from the children of Reuben, and from the children of Gad, out of the land of Gilead, to the land of Canaan, to the children of Israel, and brought them word again.
33
ושפר פתגמא בעיני בני ישראל ואודיאו קדם יי בני ישראל ולא אמרו למיסק עליהון לחילא לחבלא ית ארעא דבני ראובן ובני גד יתבין בה:
bh ythbyn gd wbny rawbn dbny area yth lkhbla lkhyla elyhwn lmysq amrw wla yshral bny yy qdm wawdyaw yshral bny beyny pthgma wshpr
The thing pleased the children of Israel; and the children of Israel blessed God, and spoke no more of going up against them to war, to destroy the land in which the children of Reuben and the children of Gad lived.
