ܘܐܡܪ ܡܪܝܐ ܠܝܫܘܥ

Yahweh spoke to Joshua, saying,

ܐܡܪ ܠܒܢ̈ܝ ܐܝܣܪܝܠ ܫܒܘܩܘ ܠܟܘܢ ܩܘܪ̈ܝܐ ܠܡܫܘܙܒܘܬܐ ܐܝܟܢܐ ܕܐܡ̇ܪܬ ܠܟܘܢ ܒܐܝܕܐ ܕܥܒܕܝ ܡܘܫܐ

“Speak to the children of Israel, saying, ‘Assign the cities of refuge, of which I spoke to you by Moses,

ܕܢܥܪܘܩ ܠܬܡܢ ܩܛܘܠܐ ܐܝܢܐ ܕܢܩܛܘܠ ܢܦܫܐ ܡܢ ܫܠܝܐ ܟܕ ܠܐ ܝ̇ܕܥ ܘܢܗ̈ܘܝܢ ܠܟܘܢ ܠܡܫܘܙܒܘܬܐ ܡܢ ܬܒ̇ܥ ܥܝܪܬܐ ܕܕܡܐ
ddm' eyrth' thbe mn lmshwzbwth' lkwn wnhwyn yde l' kd shly' mn npsh' dnqTwl 'yn' qTwl' lthmn dnerwq
that the man slayer who kills any person accidentally or unintentionally may flee there. They shall be to you for a refuge from the avenger of blood.

ܘܢܥܪܘܩ ܠܚܕܐ ܡܢ ܗܠܝܢ ܩܘܪ̈ܝܐ ܘܢܩܘܡ ܒܡܥܠܢܐ ܕܬܪܥܐ ܕܩܪܝܬܐ ܘܢܡܠܠ ܩܕܡ ܩܫܝܫ̈ܐ ܕܩܪܝܬܐ ܗ̇ܝ ܘܢܐܡܪ ܡ̈ܠܘܗܝ ܘܢܚܡܠܘܢܗ ܠܘܬܗܘܢ ܒܩܪܝܬܐ ܘܢܬܠܘܢ ܠܗ ܕܘܟܬܐ ܠܡܥܡܪ ܥܡܗܘܢ
emhwn lmemr dwkth' lh wnthlwn bqryth' lwthhwn wnkhmlwnh mlwhy wn'mr hy dqryth' qshysh' qdm wnmll dqryth' dthre' bmeln' wnqwm qwry' hlyn mn lkhd' wnerwq
He shall flee to one of those cities, and shall stand at the entrance of the gate of the city, and declare his case in the ears of the elders of that city. They shall take him into the city with them, and give him a place, that he may live among them.

ܟܕ ܢܪܕܘܦ ܬܒ̇ܥ ܥܝܪܬܐ ܕܕܡܐ ܒܬܪܗ ܘܠܐ ܢܫܠܡܘܢܗ ܒܐ̈ܝܕܘܗܝ ܠܩܛܘܠܐ ܡܛܠ ܕܟܕ ܠܐ ܝ̇ܕܥ ܡܚܝܗܝ ܠܚܒܪܗ ܘܠܐ ܣ̇ܢܐ ܗܘܐ ܠܗ ܡܢ ܩܕܡ ܝܘܡ̈ܬܐ
ywmth' qdm mn lh hw' sn' wl' lkhbrh mkhyhy yde l' dkd mTl lqTwl' b'ydwhy nshlmwnh wl' bthrh ddm' eyrth' thbe nrdwp kd
If the avenger of blood pursues him, then they shall not deliver up the man slayer into his hand; because he struck his neighbor unintentionally, and didn’t hate him before.

ܘܢܬܒ ܒܩܪܝܬܐ ܗ̇ܝ ܥܕܡܐ ܕܩ̇ܐܡ ܩܕܡ ܟܢܘܫܬܐ ܒܕܝܢܐ ܥܕܡܐ ܕܢܡܘܬ ܟܗܢܐ ܪܒܐ ܕܢܗܘܐ ܒܝܘܡ̈ܬܐ ܗ̇ܢܘܢ ܘܗܝܕܝܢ ܢܗܦܘܟ ܩܛܘܠܐ ܘܢܐܬܐ ܠܒܝܬܗ ܘܠܩܪܝܬܗ ܘܠܡܕܝܢܬܐ ܕܥܪܩ ܡܢܗ̇
mnh derq wlmdynth' wlqrythh lbythh wn'th' qTwl' nhpwk whydyn hnwn bywmth' dnhw' rb' khn' dnmwth edm' bdyn' knwshth' qdm dq'm edm' hy bqryth' wnthb
He shall dwell in that city until he stands before the congregation for judgment, until the death of the high priest that shall be in those days. Then the man slayer shall return, and come to his own city, and to his own house, to the city he fled from.’”

ܗܝܕܝܢ ܦܪܫܘ ܩܘܪ̈ܝܐ ܗܠܝܢ ܠܒܝܬ ܓܘܣܐ ܠܪܩܡ ܕܒܓܠܝܠܐ ܕܒܛܘܪܐ ܕܢܦܬܠܝ ܘܠܫܟܝܡ ܕܒܛܘܪܐ ܕܐܦܪܝܡ ܘܠܩܘܪܝܬ ܐܪܒܥ ܕܗܝ ܗܝ ܚܒܪܘܢ ܕܒܛܘܪܐ ܕܝܗܘܕܐ
dyhwd' dbTwr' khbrwn hy dhy 'rbe wlqwryth d'prym dbTwr' wlshkym dnpthly dbTwr' dbglyl' lrqm gws' lbyth hlyn qwry' prshw hydyn
They set apart Kedesh in Galilee in the hill country of Naphtali, Shechem in the hill country of Ephraim, and Kiriath Arba (also called Hebron) in the hill country of Judah.

ܘܒܥܒܪܐ ܕܝܘܪܕܢܢ ܕܐܝܪܝܚܘ ܡܢ ܡܕܢܚܐ ܝܗܒܘ ܒܘܨܪ ܕܒܡܕܒܪܐ ܕܝ̇ܬܒܐ ܒܦܩܥܬܐ ܡܢ ܫܒܛܐ ܕܪܘܒܝܠ ܘܪܡܬ ܓܠܥܕ ܡܢ ܫܒܛܐ ܕܓܕ ܘܓܘܠܢ ܕܒܡܬܢܝܢ ܡܢ ܫܒܛܐ ܕܡܢܫܐ

Beyond the Jordan at Jericho eastward, they assigned Bezer in the wilderness in the plain out of the tribe of Reuben, Ramoth in Gilead out of the tribe of Gad, and Golan in Bashan out of the tribe of Manasseh.

ܗܠܝܢ ܐܢܝ̈ܢ ܩܘܪ̈ܝܐ ܕܫܘܘܙܒܐ ܘܕܒܝܬ ܓܘܣܐ ܠܟܠܗܘܢ ܒܢ̈ܝ ܐܝܣܪܝܠ ܘܠܥܡܘܪ̈ܐ ܕܥ̇ܡܪܝܢ ܒܝܢܬܗܘܢ ܕܢܗܘܐ ܥ̇ܪܩ ܠܬܡܢ ܟܠ ܡ̇ܢ ܕܩ̇ܛܠ ܢܦܫܐ ܡܢ ܫܠܝܐ ܕܠܐ ܢܫܬܠܡ ܒܐܝܕܐ ܕܬܒ̇ܥ ܥܝܪܬܐ ܕܕܡܐ ܥܕܡܐ ܕܢܩܘܡ ܩܕܡ ܟܢܘܫܬܐ ܒܕܝܢܐ
bdyn' knwshth' qdm dnqwm edm' ddm' eyrth' dthbe b'yd' nshthlm dl' shly' mn npsh' dqTl mn kl lthmn erq dnhw' bynthhwn demryn wlemwr' 'ysryl bny lklhwn gws' wdbyth dshwwzb' qwry' 'nyn hlyn
These were the appointed cities for all the children of Israel, and for the alien who lives among them, that whoever kills any person unintentionally might flee there, and not die by the hand of the avenger of blood, until he stands trial before the congregation.
