ܘܡܢ ܒܬܪ ܕܡܝܬ ܡܘܫܐ ܥܒܕܗ ܕܡܪܝܐ ܐܡܪ ܡܪܝܐ ܠܝܫܘܥ ܒܪܢܘܢ ܡܫܡܫܢܗ ܕܡܘܫܐ
dmwsh' mshmshnh brnwn lyshwe mry' 'mr dmry' ebdh mwsh' dmyth bthr wmn
Now after the death of Moses the servant of Yahweh, Yahweh spoke to Joshua the son of Nun, Moses’ servant, saying,

ܡܘܫܐ ܥܒܕܝ ܡܝܬ ܡܟܝܠ ܩܘܡ ܥܒܪ ܝܘܪܕܢܢ ܗܢܐ ܐܢܬ ܘܟܠܗ ܥܡܐ ܗܢܐ ܠܐܪܥܐ ܕܝ̇ܗܒ ܐܢܐ ܠܗܘܢ ܠܒܢ̈ܝ ܐܝܣܪܝܠ
'ysryl lbny lhwn 'n' dyhb l're' hn' em' wklh 'nth hn' ywrdnn ebr qwm mkyl myth ebdy mwsh'
“Moses my servant is dead. Now therefore arise, go across this Jordan, you and all these people, to the land which I am giving to them, even to the children of Israel.

ܟܠ ܐܬܪܐ ܕܬܕܪܘܟ ܒܗ ܦܣܬܐ ܕܪܓܠܟܘܢ ܠܟܘܢ ܢܗܘܐ ܐܝܟ ܕܐܡ̇ܪܬ ܠܡܘܫܐ
lmwsh' d'mrth 'yk nhw' lkwn drglkwn psth' bh dthdrwk 'thr' kl
I have given you every place that the sole of your foot will tread on, as I told Moses.

ܡܢ ܡܕܒܪܐ ܘܛܘܪܐ ܕܠܒܢܢ ܗܢܐ ܘܥܕܡܐ ܠܦܪܬ ܢܗܪܐ ܪܒܐ ܘܟܠܗ̇ ܐܪܥܐ ܕܚ̈ܬܝܐ ܘܥܕܡܐ ܠܝܡܐ ܪܒܐ ܒܝܬ ܡܥܪ̈ܒܝ ܫܡܫܐ ܢܗܘܐ ܬܚܘܡܟܘܢ
thkhwmkwn nhw' shmsh' merby byth rb' lym' wedm' dkhthy' 're' wklh rb' nhr' lprth wedm' hn' dlbnn wTwr' mdbr' mn
From the wilderness and this Lebanon even to the great river, the river Euphrates, all the land of the Hittites, and to the great sea toward the going down of the sun, shall be your border.

ܘܠܐ ܢܩܘܡ ܐܢܫ ܩܕܡܝܟܘܢ ܟܠܗܘܢ ܝܘܡ̈ܬܐ ܕܚܝܝ̈ܟܘܢ ܘܐܝܟܢܐ ܕܗܘ̇ܝܬ ܥܡ ܡܘܫܐ ܐܗܘܐ ܐܦ ܥܡܟ ܠܐ ܐܪܦܝܟ ܘܠܐ ܐܫܒܩܟ
'shbqk wl' 'rpyk l' emk 'p 'hw' mwsh' em dhwyth w'ykn' dkhyykwn ywmth' klhwn qdmykwn 'nsh nqwm wl'
No man will be able to stand before you all the days of your life. As I was with Moses, so I will be with you. I will not fail you nor forsake you.

ܐܬܚܝܠ ܘܐܬܥܫܢ ܛܒ ܡܛܘܠ ܕܐܢܬ ܬܘܪܬܝܘܗܝ ܠܥܡܐ ܗܢܐ ܐܪܥܐ ܕܐܝܡ̇ܝܬ ܠܐ̈ܒܗܝܗܘܢ ܠܡܬܠ ܠܗܘܢ
lhwn lmthl l'bhyhwn d'ymyth 're' hn' lem' thwrthywhy d'nth mTwl Tb w'theshn 'thkhyl
“Be strong and courageous; for you shall cause this people to inherit the land which I swore to their fathers to give them.

ܒܠܚܘܕ ܐܬܚܝܠ ܘܐܬܥܫܢ ܛܒ ܠܡܛܪ ܘܠܡܥܒܕ ܟܠ ܢܡ̈ܘܣܐ ܕܦܩܕܟ ܡܘܫܐ ܥܒܕܝ ܠܐ ܬܥܒܪ ܡܢܗܘܢ ܠܐ ܠܝܡܝܢܐ ܘܠܐ ܠܣܡܠܐ ܡܛܠ ܕܬܨܠܚ ܒܟܘܠ ܕܬܗܠܟ
dthhlk bkwl dthtslkh mTl lsml' wl' lymyn' l' mnhwn thebr l' ebdy mwsh' dpqdk nmws' kl wlmebd lmTr Tb w'theshn 'thkhyl blkhwd
Only be strong and very courageous. Be careful to observe to do according to all the law which Moses my servant commanded you. Don’t turn from it to the right hand or to the left, that you may have good success wherever you go.

ܘܠܐ ܢܥܢܕ ܗܢܐ ܣܦܪܐ ܕܢܡܘܣܐ ܡܢ ܦܘܡܟ ܐܠܐ ܗܘܝܬ ܪܢ̇ܐ ܒܗ ܒܠܠܝܐ ܘܒܐܝܡܡܐ ܘܬܛܪ ܘܬܥܒܕ ܟܠ ܕܟܬܝܒ ܒܗ ܕܬܨܠܚ ܘܬܟܫܪ
wthkshr dthtslkh bh dkthyb kl wthebd wthTr wb'ymm' blly' bh rn' hwyth 'l' pwmk mn dnmws' spr' hn' nend wl'
This book of the law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it; for then you shall make your way prosperous, and then you shall have good success.

ܗܐ ܦܩ̇ܕܬܟ ܐܬܚܝܠ ܘܐܬܥܫܢ ܠܐ ܬܕܚܠ ܘܠܐ ܬܙܘܥ ܡܛܠ ܕܥܡܟ ܗܘ ܡܪܝܐ ܐܠܗܟ ܐܬܪ ܕܐ̇ܙܠ ܐܢܬ
'nth d'zl 'thr 'lhk mry' hw demk mTl thzwe wl' thdkhl l' w'theshn 'thkhyl pqdthk h'
Haven’t I commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Don’t be afraid. Don’t be dismayed, for Yahweh your God is with you wherever you go.”

ܘܦܩܕ ܝܫܘܥ ܠܫ̈ܠܝܛܢܐ ܕܥܡܐ ܘܠܣܦܪ̈ܘܗܝ ܘܐܡܪ ܠܗܘܢ

Then Joshua commanded the officers of the people, saying,

ܥܒܪܘ ܒܓܘ ܡܫܪܝܬܐ ܘܦܩܕܘ ܠܥܡܐ ܘܐܡܪܘ ܠܗܘܢ ܛܝܒܘ ܠܟܘܢ ܙܘ̈ܕܐ ܡܛܠ ܕܡܟܐ ܠܬܠܬܐ ܝܘܡ̈ܝܢ ܥ̇ܒܪܝܢ ܐܢܬܘܢ ܝܘܪܕܢܢ ܗܢܐ ܠܡܥܠ ܠܡܐܪܬ ܐܪܥܐ ܕܡܪܝܐ ܐܠܗܟܘܢ ܝ̇ܗܒ ܠܟܘܢ ܠܡܐܪܬܗ̇
lm'rthh lkwn yhb 'lhkwn dmry' 're' lm'rth lmel hn' ywrdnn 'nthwn ebryn ywmyn lthlth' dmk' mTl zwd' lkwn Tybw lhwn w'mrw lem' wpqdw mshryth' bgw ebrw
“Pass through the middle of the camp, and command the people, saying, ‘Prepare food; for within three days you are to pass over this Jordan, to go in to possess the land which Yahweh your God gives you to possess.’”

ܘܠܪܘܒܝܠ ܘܠܓܕ ܘܠܦܠܓܗ ܕܫܒܛܐ ܕܡܢܫܐ ܐܡܪ ܝܫܘܥ
yshwe 'mr dmnsh' dshbT' wlplgh wlgd wlrwbyl
Joshua spoke to the Reubenites, and to the Gadites, and to the half-tribe of Manasseh, saying,

ܐܬܕܟܪܘ ܦܬܓܡܐ ܕܦܩܕܟܘܢ ܡܘܫܐ ܥܒܕܗ ܕܡܪܝܐ ܘܐܡܪ ܠܟܘܢ ܡܪܝܐ ܐܠܗܟܘܢ ܡܢܝܚ ܠܟܘܢ ܘܝ̇ܗܒ ܠܟܘܢ ܐܪܥܐ ܗܕܐ
hd' 're' lkwn wyhb lkwn mnykh 'lhkwn mry' lkwn w'mr dmry' ebdh mwsh' dpqdkwn pthgm' 'thdkrw
“Remember the word which Moses the servant of Yahweh commanded you, saying, ‘Yahweh your God gives you rest, and will give you this land.

ܢܫܝ̈ܟܘܢ ܘܐܝܩܪܬܟܘܢ ܘܩܢܝܢܟܘܢ ܢܬܒܘܢ ܒܐܪܥܐ ܕܝܗܒ ܠܟܘܢ ܡܘܫܐ ܒܥܒܪܐ ܕܝܘܪܕܢܢ ܘܐܢܬܘܢ ܥܒܪܘ ܟܕ ܡܙܝܢܝܢ ܐܢܬܘܢ ܩܕܡ ܐ̈ܚܝܟܘܢ ܟܠܟܘܢ ܓܢܒܪ̈ܝ ܚܝܠܐ ܘܥܕܪܘ ܐܢܘܢ
'nwn wedrw khyl' gnbry klkwn 'khykwn qdm 'nthwn mzynyn kd ebrw w'nthwn dywrdnn bebr' mwsh' lkwn dyhb b're' nthbwn wqnynkwn w'yqrthkwn nshykwn
Your wives, your little ones, and your livestock shall live in the land which Moses gave you beyond the Jordan; but you shall pass over before your brothers armed, all the mighty men of valor, and shall help them

ܥܕܡܐ ܕܢܢܝܚ ܡܪܝܐ ܠܐ̈ܚܝܟܘܢ ܐܟܘܬܟܘܢ ܘܢܐܪܬܘܢ ܐܦ ܗܢܘܢ ܐܪܥܐ ܕܡܪܝܐ ܐܠܗܟܘܢ ܝ̇ܗܒ ܠܗܘܢ ܘܬܗܦܟܘܢ ܠܐܪܥܐ ܕܝܪܬܘܬܟܘܢ ܘܬܐܪܬܘܢܗ̇ ܕܝܗܒ ܠܟܘܢ ܡܘܫܐ ܥܒܕܗ ܕܡܪܝܐ ܒܥܒܪܐ ܕܝܘܪܕܢܢ ܡܢ ܡܕܢܚ̈ܝ ܫܡܫܐ
shmsh' mdnkhy mn dywrdnn bebr' dmry' ebdh mwsh' lkwn dyhb wth'rthwnh dyrthwthkwn l're' wthhpkwn lhwn yhb 'lhkwn dmry' 're' hnwn 'p wn'rthwn 'kwthkwn l'khykwn mry' dnnykh edm'
until Yahweh has given your brothers rest, as he has given you, and they have also possessed the land which Yahweh your God gives them. Then you shall return to the land of your possession and possess it, which Moses the servant of Yahweh gave you beyond the Jordan toward the sunrise.’”

ܘܥܢܘ ܒܢ̈ܝ ܪܘܒܝܠ ܘܒܢ̈ܝ ܓܕ ܘܒܢ̈ܝ ܡܢܫܐ ܘܐܡܪܘ ܠܝܫܘܥ ܟܠ ܕܦ̇ܩܕ ܐܢܬ ܠܢ ܢܥܒܕ ܘܠܐܝܟܐ ܕܬܫܕܪܢ ܢܐܙܠ
n'zl dthshdrn wl'yk' nebd ln 'nth dpqd kl lyshwe w'mrw mnsh' wbny gd wbny rwbyl bny wenw
They answered Joshua, saying, “All that you have commanded us we will do, and wherever you send us we will go.

ܘܐܝܟܢܐ ܕܫ̇ܡܥܝܢ ܗܘܝܢ ܠܡܘܫܐ ܗܟܢܐ ܢܫܡܥܟ ܒܠܚܘܕ ܡܪܝܐ ܐܠܗܟ ܢܗܘܐ ܥܡܟ ܐܝܟܢܐ ܕܗܘܐ ܥܡ ܡܘܫܐ
mwsh' em dhw' 'ykn' emk nhw' 'lhk mry' blkhwd nshmek hkn' lmwsh' hwyn dshmeyn w'ykn'
Just as we listened to Moses in all things, so will we listen to you. Only may Yahweh your God be with you, as he was with Moses.

ܘܟܠ ܐܢܫ ܕܢܬܚܪܐ ܥܡܟ ܘܠܐ ܢܫܡܥ ܡܠܬܟ ܠܟܠ ܡܕܡ ܕܦ̇ܩܕ ܐܢܬ ܠܗ ܢܬܩܛܠ ܒܠܚܘܕ ܐܬܚܝܠ ܘܐܬܥܫܢ
w'theshn 'thkhyl blkhwd nthqTl lh 'nth dpqd mdm lkl mlthk nshme wl' emk dnthkhr' 'nsh wkl
Whoever rebels against your commandment, and doesn’t listen to your words in all that you command him shall himself be put to death. Only be strong and courageous.”
