ܘܗܠܝܢ ܕܐܝܪܬܘ ܒܢ̈ܝ ܐܝܣܪܝܠ ܒܐܪܥܐ ܕܟܢܥܢ ܕܐܘܪܬ ܐܢܘܢ ܐܠܝܥܙܪ ܟܗܢܐ ܘܝܫܘܥ ܒܪ ܢܘܢ ܘܪ̈ܫܐ ܕܐ̈ܒܗܬܐ ܕܫܒ̈ܛܐ ܕܐܝܣܪܝܠ
d'ysryl dshbT' d'bhth' wrsh' nwn br wyshwe khn' 'lyezr 'nwn d'wrth dknen b're' 'ysryl bny d'yrthw whlyn
These are the inheritances which the children of Israel took in the land of Canaan, which Eleazar the priest, Joshua the son of Nun, and the heads of the fathers’ houses of the tribes of the children of Israel, distributed to them,

ܒܡܢܬܐ ܕܝܪܬܘܬܗܘܢ ܐܝܟܢܐ ܕܦܩܕ ܡܪܝܐ ܒܐܝܕܐ ܕܡܘܫܐ ܠܡܬܠ ܠܬܫܥܐ ܫܒ̈ܛܝܢ ܘܠܦܠܓܘܬ ܫܒܛܐ
shbT' wlplgwth shbTyn lthshe' lmthl dmwsh' b'yd' mry' dpqd 'ykn' dyrthwthhwn bmnth'
by the lot of their inheritance, as Yahweh commanded by Moses, for the nine tribes, and for the half-tribe.

ܡܛܠ ܕܝܗܒ ܡܘܫܐ ܝܪܬܘܬܐ ܠܬܪ̈ܝܢ ܫܒ̈ܛܝܢ ܘܠܦܠܓܘܬ ܫܒܛܐ ܒܥܒܪܐ ܕܝܘܪܕܢܢ ܘܠܠܘ̈ܝܐ ܠܐ ܝܗܒ ܝܪܬܘܬܐ ܒܝܢܬܗܘܢ
bynthhwn yrthwth' yhb l' wllwy' dywrdnn bebr' shbT' wlplgwth shbTyn lthryn yrthwth' mwsh' dyhb mTl
For Moses had given the inheritance of the two tribes and the half-tribe beyond the Jordan; but to the Levites he gave no inheritance among them.

ܡܛܠ ܕܗܘܘ ܒܢ̈ܝ ܝܘܣܦ ܬܪ̈ܝܢ ܫܒ̈ܛܝܢ ܡܢܫܐ ܘܐܦܪܝܡ ܘܠܐ ܝܗܒ ܦܠܓܘܬܐ ܠܠܘ̈ܝܐ ܒܐܪܥܐ ܐܠܐ ܐܢ ܩܘܪ̈ܝܐ ܠܡܥܡܪ ܒܗܝܢ ܘܐܓܘܪ̈ܣܐ ܠܒܥܝܪܗܘܢ ܘܠܩܢܝܢܗܘܢ
wlqnynhwn lbeyrhwn w'gwrs' bhyn lmemr qwry' 'n 'l' b're' llwy' plgwth' yhb wl' w'prym mnsh' shbTyn thryn ywsp bny dhww mTl
For the children of Joseph were two tribes, Manasseh and Ephraim. They gave no portion to the Levites in the land, except cities to dwell in, with their pasture lands for their livestock and for their property.

ܐܝܟܢܐ ܕܦܩܕ ܡܪܝܐ ܠܡܘܫܐ ܗܟܢܐ ܥܒܕܘ ܒܢ̈ܝ ܐܝܣܪܝܠ ܘܦܠܓܘܗ̇ ܠܐܪܥܐ
l're' wplgwh 'ysryl bny ebdw hkn' lmwsh' mry' dpqd 'ykn'
The children of Israel did as Yahweh commanded Moses, and they divided the land.

ܘܩܪܒܘ ܒܢ̈ܝ ܝܗܘܕܐ ܠܘܬ ܝܫܘܥ ܒܓܠܓܠܐ ܘܐܡܪ ܟܠܒ ܒܪ ܝܘܦܢܐ ܩܢܙܝܐ ܠܝܫܘܥ ܐܢܬ ܝ̇ܕܥ ܐܢܬ ܦܬܓܡܐ ܕܡܠܠ ܡܪܝܐ ܥܡ ܡܘܫܐܥܒܕܗ ܥܠ ܨܒܘܬܝ ܘܥܠ ܨܒܘܬܟ ܒܪܩܡ ܕܓܝܐ

Then the children of Judah came near to Joshua in Gilgal. Caleb the son of Jephunneh the Kenizzite said to him, “You know the thing that Yahweh spoke to Moses the man of God concerning me and concerning you in Kadesh Barnea.

ܟܕ ܒܪ ܐܪܒܥܝܢ ܗܘܝܬ ܫܢ̈ܝܢ ܗܝܕܝܢ ܟܕ ܫܕܪܢܝ ܡܘܫܐ ܥܒܕܗ ܕܐܠܗܐ ܡܢ ܪܩܡ ܕܓܝܐ ܠܡܓܫܗ̇ ܠܐܪܥܐ ܘܐܬܝܒܬܗ ܦܬܓܡܐ ܐܝܟ ܕܐܝܬ ܗܘܐ ܒܠܒܝ

I was forty years old when Moses the servant of Yahweh sent me from Kadesh Barnea to spy out the land. I brought him word again as it was in my heart.

ܘܐ̈ܚܝܢ ܐܝܠܝܢ ܕܣܠܩܘ ܗܘܘ ܥܡܢ ܐܙܝܥܘܗܝ ܠܒܗ ܕܥܡܐ ܘܐܢܐ ܫ̇ܡܠܝܬ ܒܬܪ ܡܪܝܐ ܐܠܗܝ
'lhy mry' bthr shmlyth w'n' dem' lbh 'zyewhy emn hww dslqw 'ylyn w'khyn
Nevertheless, my brothers who went up with me made the heart of the people melt; but I wholly followed Yahweh my God.

ܘܐܝܡܐ ܡܘܫܐ ܒܗ ܒܙܒܢܐ ܗ̇ܘ ܘܐܡܪ ܕܐܪܥܐ ܕܕܪܟܬ ܒܗ̇ ܪܓܠܟ ܠܟ ܬܗܘܐ ܝܪܬܘܬܐ ܘܠܒܢ̈ܝܟ ܠܥܠܡ ܡܛܠ ܕܫܡܠܝܬ ܒܬܪ ܡܪܝܐ ܐܠܗܐ
'lh' mry' bthr dshmlyth mTl lelm wlbnyk yrthwth' thhw' lk rglk bh ddrkth d're' w'mr hw bzbn' bh mwsh' w'ym'
Moses swore on that day, saying, ‘Surely the land where you walked shall be an inheritance to you and to your children forever, because you have wholly followed Yahweh my God.’

ܘܗܫܐ ܗܐ ܐܢܝܚ ܠܢ ܡܪܝܐ ܐܝܟܢܐ ܕܐܡܪ ܗܐ ܐܪܒܥܝܢ ܘܚܡܫ ܫܢ̈ܝܢ ܗܐ ܡܢ ܕܐܡܪ ܡܪܝܐ ܡܠܬܐ ܗܕܐ ܠܡܘܫܐ ܕܢܗܠܟ ܠܐܝܣܪܝܠ ܒܡܕܒܪܐ ܘܗܫܐ ܐܢܐ ܝܘܡܢܐ ܒܪ ܬܡܢܐܝܢ ܐܢܐ ܘܚܡܫ ܫܢ̈ܝܢ
shnyn wkhmsh 'n' thmn'yn br ywmn' 'n' whsh' bmdbr' l'ysryl dnhlk lmwsh' hd' mlth' mry' d'mr mn h' shnyn wkhmsh 'rbeyn h' d'mr 'ykn' mry' ln 'nykh h' whsh'
“Now, behold, Yahweh has kept me alive, as he spoke, these forty-five years, from the time that Yahweh spoke this word to Moses, while Israel walked in the wilderness. Now, behold, I am eighty-five years old, today.

ܘܥܕܡܐ ܠܗܫܐ ܚܝܠܐ ܐܝܬ ܒܝ ܐܝܟ ܕܒܝܘܡܐ ܗ̇ܘ ܕܫܕܪܢܝ ܡܘܫܐ ܚܝܠܝ ܕܗܝܕܝܢ ܘܕܗܫܐ ܫܘܐ ܗܘ ܠܩܪܒܐ ܘܠܡܦܩ ܘܠܡܥܠ
wlmel wlmpq lqrb' hw shw' wdhsh' dhydyn khyly mwsh' dshdrny hw dbywm' 'yk by 'yth khyl' lhsh' wedm'
As yet I am as strong today as I was in the day that Moses sent me. As my strength was then, even so is my strength now for war, to go out and to come in.

ܗܫܐ ܗܒ ܠܝ ܛܘܪܐ ܗܢܐ ܕܐܡܪ ܡܪܝܐ ܒܗ ܒܝܘܡܐ ܗ̇ܘ ܘܐܢܬ ܫܡܥܬ ܒܗ ܒܝܘܡܐ ܗ̇ܘ ܕܓܢܒܪ̈ܐ ܐܝܬ ܬܡܢ ܘܡܕܝܢ̈ܬܐ ܪ̈ܘܪܒܢ ܐܢܝ̈ܢ ܘܚܣ̈ܝܢܢ ܟܒܪ ܢܗܘܐ ܡܪܝܐ ܥܡܝ ܘܐܚܪܘܒ ܐܢܘܢ ܐܝܟ ܕܐܡܪ ܡܪܝܐ
mry' d'mr 'yk 'nwn w'khrwb emy mry' nhw' kbr wkhsynn 'nyn rwrbn wmdynth' thmn 'yth dgnbr' hw bywm' bh shmeth w'nth hw bywm' bh mry' d'mr hn' Twr' ly hb hsh'
Now therefore give me this hill country, of which Yahweh spoke in that day; for you heard in that day how the Anakim were there, and great and fortified cities. It may be that Yahweh will be with me, and I shall drive them out, as Yahweh said.”

ܘܒܪܟܗ ܝܫܘܥ ܠܟܠܒ ܒܪ ܝܘܦܢܐ ܘܝܗܒ ܠܗ ܠܚܒܪܘܢ ܟܪܟܐ ܝܪܬܘܬܐ

Joshua blessed him; and he gave Hebron to Caleb the son of Jephunneh for an inheritance.

ܡܛܠ ܗܢܐ ܗܘܐ ܚܒܪܘܢ ܟܪܟܐ ܝܪܬܘܬܐ ܠܟܠܒ ܒܪ ܝܘܦܢܐ ܩܢܙܝܐ ܥܕܡܐ ܠܝܘܡܢܐ ܡܛܠ ܕܫܡܠܝ ܒܬܪ ܡܪܝܐ ܐܠܗܐ ܕܐܝܣܪܝܠ
d'ysryl 'lh' mry' bthr dshmly mTl lywmn' edm' qnzy' ywpn' br lklb yrthwth' krk' khbrwn hw' hn' mTl
Therefore Hebron became the inheritance of Caleb the son of Jephunneh the Kenizzite to this day, because he followed Yahweh, the God of Israel wholeheartedly.

ܘܫܡܗ̇ ܕܚܒܪܘܢ ܟܪܟܐ ܡܢ ܩܕܝܡ ܩܘܪܝܬ ܐܪܒܥ ܕܐ̈ܢܫܐ ܓܢܒܪ̈ܐ ܘܐܪܥܐ ܐܬܬܢܝܚܬ ܡܢ ܩܪܒܐ
qrb' mn 'ththnykhth w're' gnbr' d'nsh' 'rbe qwryth qdym mn krk' dkhbrwn wshmh
Now the name of Hebron before was Kiriath Arba, after the greatest man among the Anakim. Then the land had rest from war.
