ܒܬܪ ܗܠܝܢ ܐܙܠ ܝܫܘܥ ܠܥܒܪܐ ܕܝܡܐ ܕܓܠܝܠܐ ܕܛܒܪܝܘܣ

After these things, Jesus went away to the other side of the sea of Galilee, which is also called the Sea of Tiberias.

ܘܐܙܠܘ ܒܬܪܗ ܟܢܫܐ ܣܓܝܐܐ ܡܛܠ ܕܚܙܝܢ ܗܘܘ ܐܬܘܬܐ ܕܥܒܕ ܒܟܪܝܗܐ
w'zlw bthrh knsh' sgy'' mTl dkhzyn hww 'thwth' debd bkryh'
A great multitude followed him, because they saw his signs which he did on those who were sick.

ܘܣܠܩ ܝܫܘܥ ܠܛܘܪܐ ܘܬܡܢ ܝܬܒ ܗܘܐ ܥܡ ܬܠܡܝܕܘܗܝ

Jesus went up into the mountain, and he sat there with his disciples.

ܩܪܝܒ ܗܘܐ ܕܝܢ ܥܕܥܕܐ ܕܦܨܚܐ ܕܝܗܘܕܝܐ
qryb hw' dyn eded' dptskh' dyhwdy'
Now the Passover, the feast of the Jews, was at hand.

ܘܐܪܝܡ ܥܝܢܘܗܝ ܝܫܘܥ ܘܚܙܐ ܟܢܫܐ ܣܓܝܐܐ ܕܐܬܐ ܠܘܬܗ ܘܐܡܪ ܠܦܝܠܝܦܘܣ ܐܝܡܟܐ ܢܙܒܢ ܠܚܡܐ ܕܢܐܟܠܘܢ ܗܠܝܢ

Jesus therefore lifting up his eyes, and seeing that a great multitude was coming to him, said to Philip,
“Where are we to buy bread, that these may eat?”

ܗܕܐ ܕܝܢ ܐܡܪ ܟܕ ܡܢܣܐ ܠܗ ܗܘ ܓܝܪ ܝܕܥ ܗܘܐ ܡܢܐ ܥܬܝܕ ܠܡܥܒܕ

This he said to test him, for he himself knew what he would do.

ܐܡܪ ܠܗ ܦܝܠܝܦܘܣ ܕܡܐܬܝܢ ܕܝܢܪܝܢ ܠܚܡܐ ܠܐ ܣܦܩ ܠܗܘܢ ܟܕ ܩܠܝܠ ܩܠܝܠ ܚܕ ܚܕ ܡܢܗܘܢ ܢܣܒ
'mr lh pylypws dm'thyn dynryn lkhm' l' spq lhwn kd qlyl qlyl khd khd mnhwn nsb
Philip answered him, “Two hundred denarii worth of bread is not sufficient for them, that everyone of them may receive a little.”

ܐܡܪ ܠܗ ܚܕ ܡܢ ܬܠܡܝܕܘܗܝ ܐܢܕܪܐܘܣ ܐܚܘܗܝ ܕܫܡܥܘܢ ܟܐܦܐ

One of his disciples, Andrew, Simon Peter’s brother, said to him,

ܐܝܬ ܬܢܢ ܛܠܝܐ ܚܕ ܕܐܝܬ ܥܠܘܗܝ ܚܡܫ ܓܪܝܨܢ ܕܣܥܪܐ ܘܬܪܝܢ ܢܘܢܝܢ ܐܠܐ ܗܠܝܢ ܡܢܐ ܐܢܘܢ ܠܗܠܝܢ ܟܠܗܘܢ

“There is a boy here who has five barley loaves and two fish, but what are these among so many?”

ܐܡܪ ܠܗܘܢ ܝܫܘܥ ܥܒܕܘ ܐܢܫܐ ܟܠܗܘܢ ܕܢܣܬܡܟܘܢ ܥܣܒܐ ܕܝܢ ܣܓܝ ܗܘܐ ܒܗ ܒܕܘܟܬܐ ܗܝ ܘܐܣܬܡܟܘ ܓܒܪܐ ܒܡܢܝܢܐ ܚܡܫܐ ܐܠܦܝܢ
'mr lhwn yshwe ebdw 'nsh' klhwn dnsthmkwn esb' dyn sgy hw' bh bdwkth' hy w'sthmkw gbr' bmnyn' khmsh' 'lpyn
Jesus said,
“Have the people sit down.” Now there was much grass in that place. So the men sat down, in number about five thousand.

ܘܫܩܠ ܝܫܘܥ ܠܚܡܐ ܘܒܪܟ ܘܦܠܓ ܠܗܢܘܢ ܕܣܡܝܟܝܢ ܘܗܟܢܐ ܐܦ ܡܢ ܢܘܢܐ ܟܡܐ ܕܨܒܘ

Jesus took the loaves; and having given thanks, he distributed to the disciples, and the disciples to those who were sitting down; likewise also of the fish as much as they desired.

ܘܟܕ ܣܒܥܘ ܐܡܪ ܠܬܠܡܝܕܘܗܝ ܟܢܫܘ ܩܨܝܐ ܕܝܬܪܘ ܕܠܐ ܢܐܒܕ ܡܕܡ

When they were filled, he said to his disciples,
“Gather up the broken pieces which are left over, that nothing be lost.”

ܘܟܢܫܘ ܘܡܠܘ ܬܪܥܣܪ ܩܘܦܝܢܝܢ ܩܨܝܐ ܐܝܠܝܢ ܕܝܬܪܘ ܠܗܢܘܢ ܕܐܟܠܘ ܡܢ ܚܡܫܐ ܠܚܡܝܢ ܕܣܥܪܐ
wknshw wmlw thresr qwpynyn qtsy' 'ylyn dythrw lhnwn d'klw mn khmsh' lkhmyn dser'
So they gathered them up, and filled twelve baskets with broken pieces from the five barley loaves, which were left over by those who had eaten.

ܗܢܘܢ ܕܝܢ ܐܢܫܐ ܕܚܙܘ ܐܬܐ ܕܥܒܕ ܝܫܘܥ ܐܡܪܝܢ ܗܘܘ ܫܪܝܪܐܝܬ ܗܢܘ ܢܒܝܐ ܕܐܬܐ ܠܥܠܡܐ
hnwn dyn 'nsh' dkhzw 'th' debd yshwe 'mryn hww shryr'yth hnw nby' d'th' lelm'
When therefore the people saw the sign which Jesus did, they said, “This is truly the prophet who comes into the world.”

ܝܫܘܥ ܕܝܢ ܝܕܥ ܕܥܬܝܕܝܢ ܕܢܐܬܘܢ ܢܚܛܦܘܢܝܗܝ ܘܢܥܒܕܘܢܝܗܝ ܡܠܟܐ ܘܫܢܝ ܠܗ ܠܛܘܪܐ ܗܘ ܒܠܚܘܕܘܗܝ

Jesus therefore, perceiving that they were about to come and take him by force, to make him king, withdrew again to the mountain by himself.

ܘܟܕ ܗܘܐ ܪܡܫܐ ܢܚܬܘ ܬܠܡܝܕܘܗܝ ܠܝܡܐ

When evening came, his disciples went down to the sea,

ܘܝܬܒܘ ܒܣܦܝܢܬܐ ܘܐܬܝܢ ܗܘܘ ܠܥܒܪܐ ܠܟܦܪܢܚܘܡ ܘܚܫܟܬ ܗܘܬ ܠܗ ܘܠܐ ܐܬܝ ܗܘܐ ܠܘܬܗܘܢ ܝܫܘܥ
wythbw bspynth' w'thyn hww lebr' lkprnkhwm wkhshkth hwth lh wl' 'thy hw' lwthhwn yshwe
and they entered into the boat, and were going over the sea to Capernaum. It was now dark, and Jesus had not come to them.

ܝܡܐ ܕܝܢ ܐܙܕܩܦ ܗܘܐ ܥܠܝܗܘܢ ܡܛܠ ܕܪܘܚܐ ܪܒܬܐ ܢܫܒܬ ܗܘܬ

The sea was tossed by a great wind blowing.

ܘܕܒܪܘ ܐܝܟ ܐܣܛܕܘܬܐ ܥܣܪܝܢ ܘܚܡܫܐ ܐܘ ܬܠܬܝܢ ܘܚܙܘ ܠܝܫܘܥ ܟܕ ܡܗܠܟ ܥܠ ܝܡܬܐ ܘܟܕ ܩܪܒ ܠܘܬ ܣܦܝܢܬܗܘܢ ܕܚܠܘ
wdbrw 'yk 'sTdwth' esryn wkhmsh' 'w thlthyn wkhzw lyshwe kd mhlk el ymth' wkd qrb lwth spynthhwn dkhlw
When therefore they had rowed about twenty-five or thirty stadia,
they saw Jesus walking on the sea, and drawing near to the boat; and they were afraid.

ܗܘ ܕܝܢ ܝܫܘܥ ܐܡܪ ܠܗܘܢ ܐܢܐ ܐܢܐ ܠܐ ܬܕܚܠܘܢ
hw dyn yshwe 'mr lhwn 'n' 'n' l' thdkhlwn
But he said to them,
“It is I.
Don’t be afraid.”

ܘܨܒܘ ܗܘܘ ܕܢܩܒܠܘܢܝܗܝ ܒܣܦܝܢܬܐ ܘܒܗ ܒܫܥܬܐ ܣܦܝܢܬܐ ܗܝ ܗܘܬ ܠܘܬ ܐܪܥܐ ܗܝ ܕܐܙܠܝܢ ܗܘܘ ܠܗ
wtsbw hww dnqblwnyhy bspynth' wbh bsheth' spynth' hy hwth lwth 're' hy d'zlyn hww lh
They were willing therefore to receive him into the boat. Immediately the boat was at the land where they were going.

ܘܠܝܘܡܐ ܕܒܬܪܗ ܗܘ ܟܢܫܐ ܕܩܐܡ ܗܘܐ ܒܥܒܪܐ ܕܝܡܐ ܚܙܘ ܕܣܦܝܢܬܐ ܐܚܪܬܐ ܠܝܬ ܗܘܐ ܬܡܢ ܐܠܐ ܐܢ ܗܝ ܕܣܠܩܘ ܠܗ ܬܠܡܝܕܐ ܘܕܠܐ ܥܠ ܗܘܐ ܥܡܗܘܢ ܝܫܘܥ ܥܡ ܬܠܡܝܕܘܗܝ ܠܣܦܝܢܬܐ

On the next day, the multitude that stood on the other side of the sea saw that there was no other boat there, except the one in which his disciples had embarked, and that Jesus hadn’t entered with his disciples into the boat, but his disciples had gone away alone.

ܐܬܝ ܗܘܝ ܕܝܢ ܐܠܦܐ ܐܚܪܢܝܬܐ ܡܢ ܛܒܪܝܘܣ ܥܠ ܓܢܒ ܕܘܟܬܐ ܗܝ ܕܐܟܠܘ ܒܗ ܠܚܡܐ ܟܕ ܒܪܟ ܝܫܘܥ
'thy hwy dyn 'lp' 'khrnyth' mn Tbryws el gnb dwkth' hy d'klw bh lkhm' kd brk yshwe
However boats from Tiberias came near to the place where they ate the bread after the Lord had given thanks.

ܘܟܕ ܚܙܐ ܗܘ ܟܢܫܐ ܕܠܐ ܗܘܐ ܬܡܢ ܝܫܘܥ ܐܦܠܐ ܬܠܡܝܕܘܗܝ ܣܠܩܘ ܠܗܠܝܢ ܐܠܦܐ ܘܐܬܘ ܠܟܦܪܢܚܘܡ ܘܒܥܝܢ ܗܘܘ ܠܗ ܠܝܫܘܥ
wkd khz' hw knsh' dl' hw' thmn yshwe 'pl' thlmydwhy slqw lhlyn 'lp' w'thw lkprnkhwm wbeyn hww lh lyshwe
When the multitude therefore saw that Jesus wasn’t there, nor his disciples, they themselves got into the boats, and came to Capernaum, seeking Jesus.

ܘܟܕ ܐܫܟܚܘܗܝ ܒܥܒܪܐ ܕܝܡܐ ܐܡܪܝܢ ܠܗ ܪܒܢ ܐܡܬܝ ܐܬܝܬ ܠܗܪܟܐ

When they found him on the other side of the sea, they asked him, “Rabbi, when did you come here?”

ܥܢܐ ܝܫܘܥ ܘܐܡܪ ܠܗܘܢ ܐܡܝܢ ܐܡܝܢ ܐܡܪ ܐܢܐ ܠܟܘܢ ܕܒܥܝܢ ܐܢܬܘܢ ܠܝ ܠܐ ܗܘܐ ܡܛܠ ܕܚܙܝܬܘܢ ܐܬܘܬܐ ܐܠܐ ܕܐܟܠܬܘܢ ܠܚܡܐ ܘܣܒܥܬܘܢ
en' yshwe w'mr lhwn 'myn 'myn 'mr 'n' lkwn dbeyn 'nthwn ly l' hw' mTl dkhzythwn 'thwth' 'l' d'klthwn lkhm' wsbethwn
Jesus answered them,
“Most certainly I tell you, you seek me, not because you saw signs, but because you ate of the loaves, and were filled.

ܠܐ ܬܦܠܚܘܢ ܡܐܟܘܠܬܐ ܕܐܒܕܐ ܐܠܐ ܡܐܟܘܠܬܐ ܕܡܩܘܝܐ ܠܚܝܐ ܕܠܥܠܡ ܐܝܕܐ ܕܒܪܗ ܕܐܢܫܐ ܢܬܠ ܠܟܘܢ ܠܗܢܐ ܓܝܪ ܐܒܐ ܚܬܡ ܐܠܗܐ
l' thplkhwn m'kwlth' d'bd' 'l' m'kwlth' dmqwy' lkhy' dlelm 'yd' dbrh d'nsh' nthl lkwn lhn' gyr 'b' khthm 'lh'
Don’t work for the food which perishes, but for the food which remains to eternal life, which the Son of Man will give to you. For God the Father has sealed him.”

ܐܡܪܝܢ ܠܗ ܡܢܐ ܢܥܒܕ ܕܢܦܠܘܚ ܥܒܕܐ ܕܐܠܗܐ

They said therefore to him, “What must we do, that we may work the works of God?”

ܥܢܐ ܝܫܘܥ ܘܐܡܪ ܠܗܘܢ ܗܢܘ ܥܒܕܐ ܕܐܠܗܐ ܕܬܗܝܡܢܘܢ ܒܡܢ ܕܗܘ ܫܕܪ

Jesus answered them,
“This is the work of God, that you believe in him whom he has sent.”

ܐܡܪܝܢ ܠܗ ܡܢܐ ܐܬܐ ܥܒܕ ܐܢܬ ܕܢܚܙܐ ܘܢܗܝܡܢ ܒܟ ܡܢܐ ܣܥܪ ܐܢܬ

They said therefore to him, “What then do you do for a sign, that we may see, and believe you? What work do you do?

ܐܒܗܝܢ ܡܢܢܐ ܐܟܠܘ ܒܡܕܒܪܐ ܐܝܟܢܐ ܕܟܬܝܒ ܕܠܚܡܐ ܡܢ ܫܡܝܐ ܝܗܒ ܠܗܘܢ ܠܡܐܟܠ
'bhyn mnn' 'klw bmdbr' 'ykn' dkthyb dlkhm' mn shmy' yhb lhwn lm'kl
Our fathers ate the manna in the wilderness. As it is written, ‘He gave them bread out of heaven to eat.’”

ܐܡܪ ܠܗܘܢ ܝܫܘܥ ܐܡܝܢ ܐܡܝܢ ܐܡܪ ܐܢܐ ܠܟܘܢ ܕܠܐ ܗܘܐ ܡܘܫܐ ܝܗܒ ܠܟܘܢ ܠܚܡܐ ܡܢ ܫܡܝܐ ܐܠܐ ܐܒܝ ܝܗܒ ܠܟܘܢ ܠܚܡܐ ܕܩܘܫܬܐ ܡܢ ܫܡܝܐ
'mr lhwn yshwe 'myn 'myn 'mr 'n' lkwn dl' hw' mwsh' yhb lkwn lkhm' mn shmy' 'l' 'by yhb lkwn lkhm' dqwshth' mn shmy'
Jesus therefore said to them,
“Most certainly, I tell you, it wasn’t Moses who gave you the bread out of heaven, but my Father gives you the true bread out of heaven.

ܠܚܡܗ ܓܝܪ ܕܐܠܗܐ ܐܝܬܘܗܝ ܗܘ ܕܢܚܬ ܡܢ ܫܡܝܐ ܘܝܗܒ ܚܝܐ ܠܥܠܡܐ
lkhmh gyr d'lh' 'ythwhy hw dnkhth mn shmy' wyhb khy' lelm'
For the bread of God is that which comes down out of heaven, and gives life to the world.”

ܐܡܪܝܢ ܠܗ ܡܪܢ ܒܟܠܙܒܢ ܗܒ ܠܢ ܠܚܡܐ ܗܢܐ
'mryn lh mrn bklzbn hb ln lkhm' hn'
They said therefore to him, “Lord, always give us this bread.”

ܐܡܪ ܠܗܘܢ ܝܫܘܥ ܐܢܐ ܐܢܐ ܠܚܡܐ ܕܚܝܐ ܡܢ ܕܐܬܐ ܠܘܬܝ ܠܐ ܢܟܦܢ ܘܡܢ ܕܡܗܝܡܢ ܒܝ ܠܐ ܢܨܗܐ ܠܥܠܡ
'mr lhwn yshwe 'n' 'n' lkhm' dkhy' mn d'th' lwthy l' nkpn wmn dmhymn by l' ntsh' lelm
Jesus said to them,
“I am the bread of life. He who comes to me will not be hungry, and he who believes in me will never be thirsty.

ܐܠܐ ܐܡܪܬ ܠܟܘܢ ܕܚܙܝܬܘܢܢܝ ܘܠܐ ܡܗܝܡܢܝܢ ܐܢܬܘܢ
'l' 'mrth lkwn dkhzythwnny wl' mhymnyn 'nthwn
But I told you that you have seen me, and yet you don’t believe.

ܟܠ ܕܝܗܒ ܠܝ ܐܒܝ ܠܘܬܝ ܢܐܬܐ ܘܡܢ ܕܠܘܬܝ ܢܐܬܐ ܠܐ ܐܦܩܗ ܠܒܪ
kl dyhb ly 'by lwthy n'th' wmn dlwthy n'th' l' 'pqh lbr
All those whom the Father gives me will come to me. He who comes to me I will in no way throw out.

ܕܢܚܬܬ ܡܢ ܫܡܝܐ ܠܐ ܗܘܐ ܕܐܥܒܕ ܨܒܝܢܝ ܐܠܐ ܕܐܥܒܕ ܨܒܝܢܗ ܕܡܢ ܕܫܕܪܢܝ
dnkhthth mn shmy' l' hw' d'ebd tsbyny 'l' d'ebd tsbynh dmn dshdrny
For I have come down from heaven, not to do my own will, but the will of him who sent me.

ܗܢܘ ܕܝܢ ܨܒܝܢܗ ܕܡܢ ܕܫܕܪܢܝ ܕܟܠ ܕܝܗܒ ܠܝ ܠܐ ܐܘܒܕ ܡܢܗ ܐܠܐ ܐܩܝܡܝܘܗܝ ܒܝܘܡܐ ܐܚܪܝܐ
hnw dyn tsbynh dmn dshdrny dkl dyhb ly l' 'wbd mnh 'l' 'qymywhy bywm' 'khry'
This is the will of my Father who sent me, that of all he has given to me I should lose nothing, but should raise him up at the last day.

ܗܢܘ ܓܝܪ ܨܒܝܢܗ ܕܐܒܝ ܕܟܠ ܕܚܙܐ ܠܒܪܐ ܘܡܗܝܡܢ ܒܗ ܢܗܘܘܢ ܠܗ ܚܝܐ ܕܠܥܠܡ ܘܐܢܐ ܐܩܝܡܝܘܗܝ ܒܝܘܡܐ ܐܚܪܝܐ
hnw gyr tsbynh d'by dkl dkhz' lbr' wmhymn bh nhwwn lh khy' dlelm w'n' 'qymywhy bywm' 'khry'
This is the will of the one who sent me, that everyone who sees the Son, and believes in him, should have eternal life; and I will raise him up at the last day.”

ܝܗܘܕܝܐ ܕܝܢ ܪܛܢܝܢ ܗܘܘ ܥܠܘܗܝ ܕܐܡܪ ܕܐܢܐ ܐܢܐ ܠܚܡܐ ܕܢܚܬܬ ܡܢ ܫܡܝܐ

The Jews therefore murmured concerning him, because he said,
“I am the bread which came down out of heaven.”

ܘܐܡܪܝܢ ܗܘܘ ܠܐ ܗܘܐ ܗܢܐ ܝܫܘܥ ܒܪܗ ܕܝܘܣܦ ܗܘ ܕܚܢܢ ܝܕܥܝܢ ܠܐܒܘܗܝ ܘܠܐܡܗ ܘܐܝܟܢܐ ܐܡܪ ܗܢܐ ܕܡܢ ܫܡܝܐ ܢܚܬܬ
w'mryn hww l' hw' hn' yshwe brh dywsp hw dkhnn ydeyn l'bwhy wl'mh w'ykn' 'mr hn' dmn shmy' nkhthth
They said, “Isn’t this Jesus, the son of Joseph, whose father and mother we know? How then does he say,
‘I have come down out of heaven?’”

ܥܢܐ ܝܫܘܥ ܘܐܡܪ ܠܗܘܢ ܠܐ ܬܪܛܢܘܢ ܚܕ ܥܡ ܚܕ

Therefore Jesus answered them,
“Don’t murmur among yourselves.

ܠܐ ܐܢܫ ܡܫܟܚ ܕܢܐܬܐ ܠܘܬܝ ܐܠܐ ܐܢ ܢܓܕܗ ܐܒܐ ܕܫܕܪܢܝ ܘܐܢܐ ܐܩܝܡܝܘܗܝ ܒܝܘܡܐ ܐܚܪܝܐ
l' 'nsh mshkkh dn'th' lwthy 'l' 'n ngdh 'b' dshdrny w'n' 'qymywhy bywm' 'khry'
No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws him, and I will raise him up in the last day.

It is written in the prophets, ‘They will all be taught by God.’
Therefore everyone who hears from the Father, and has learned, comes to me.

Not that anyone has seen the Father, except he who is from God. He has seen the Father.

Most certainly, I tell you, he who believes in me has eternal life.

Your fathers ate the manna in the wilderness, and they died.

This is the bread which comes down out of heaven, that anyone may eat of it and not die.

I am the living bread which came down out of heaven. If anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever. Yes, the bread which I will give for the life of the world is my flesh.”

The Jews therefore contended with one another, saying, “How can this man give us his flesh to eat?”

ܘܐܡܪ ܠܗܘܢ ܝܫܘܥ ܐܡܝܢ ܐܡܝܢ ܐܡܪ ܐܢܐ ܠܟܘܢ ܕܐܠܐ ܬܐܟܠܘܢ ܦܓܪܗ ܕܒܪܗ ܕܐܢܫܐ ܘܬܫܬܘܢ ܕܡܗ ܠܝܬ ܠܟܘܢ ܚܝܐ ܒܩܢܘܡܟܘܢ

Jesus therefore said to them,

He who eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day.

For my flesh is food indeed, and my blood is drink indeed.

Therefore many of his disciples, when they heard this, said, “This is a hard saying! Who can listen to it?”

But Jesus knowing in himself that his disciples murmured at this, said to them,
“Does this cause you to stumble?

Then what if you would see the Son of Man ascending to where he was before?

ܪܘܚܐ ܗܝ ܕܡܚܝܐ ܦܓܪܐ ܠܐ ܡܗܢܐ ܡܕܡ ܡܠܐ ܕܐܢܐ ܡܠܠܬ ܥܡܟܘܢ ܪܘܚܐ ܐܢܝܢ ܘܚܝܐ ܐܢܝܢ

It is the spirit who gives life. The flesh profits nothing. The words that I speak to you are spirit, and are life.

ܐܠܐ ܐܝܬ ܐܢܫܐ ܡܢܟܘܢ ܕܠܐ ܡܗܝܡܢܝܢ ܝܕܥ ܗܘܐ ܓܝܪ ܝܫܘܥ ܡܢ ܩܕܝܡ ܡܢ ܐܢܘܢ ܐܝܠܝܢ ܕܠܐ ܡܗܝܡܢܝܢ ܘܡܢܘ ܗܘ ܕܡܫܠܡ ܠܗ
'l' 'yth 'nsh' mnkwn dl' mhymnyn yde hw' gyr yshwe mn qdym mn 'nwn 'ylyn dl' mhymnyn wmnw hw dmshlm lh
But there are some of you who don’t believe.” For Jesus knew from the beginning who they were who didn’t believe, and who it was who would betray him.

He said,
“For this cause I have said to you that no one can come to me, unless it is given to him by my Father.”

At this, many of his disciples went back, and walked no more with him.

Jesus said therefore to the twelve,
“You don’t also want to go away, do you?”

ܥܢܐ ܫܡܥܘܢ ܟܐܦܐ ܘܐܡܪ ܡܪܝ ܠܘܬ ܡܢ ܢܐܙܠ ܡܠܐ ܕܚܝܐ ܕܠܥܠܡ ܐܝܬ ܠܟ

Simon Peter answered him, “Lord, to whom would we go? You have the words of eternal life.

We have come to believe and know that you are the Christ, the Son of the living God.”

ܐܡܪ ܠܗܘܢ ܝܫܘܥ ܠܐ ܗܘܐ ܐܢܐ ܓܒܝܬܟܘܢ ܠܬܪܥܣܪ ܘܡܢܟܘܢ ܚܕ ܣܛܢܐ ܗܘ
'mr lhwn yshwe l' hw' 'n' gbythkwn lthresr wmnkwn khd sTn' hw
Jesus answered them,
“Didn’t I choose you, the twelve, and one of you is a devil?”

'mr hw' dyn el yhwd' br shmewn skrywT' hw gyr ethyd hw' dnshlmywhy khd mn thresr
Now he spoke of Judas, the son of Simon Iscariot, for it was he who would betray him, being one of the twelve.
