ܘܠܝܘܡܐ ܕܬܠܬܐ ܗܘܬ ܡܫܬܘܬܐ ܒܩܛܢܐ ܡܕܝܢܬܐ ܕܓܠܝܠܐ ܘܐܡܗ ܕܝܫܘܥ ܬܡܢ ܗܘܬ
hwth thmn dyshwe w'mh dglyl' mdynth' bqTn' mshthwth' hwth dthlth' wlywm'
The third day, there was a marriage in Cana of Galilee. Jesus’ mother was there.

ܘܐܦ ܗܘ ܝܫܘܥ ܘܬܠܡܝܕܘܗܝ ܐܬܩܪܝܘ ܠܗ ܠܡܫܬܘܬܐ

Jesus also was invited, with his disciples, to the marriage.

ܘܚܣܪ ܗܘܐ ܚܡܪܐ ܘܐܡܪܐ ܠܗ ܐܡܗ ܠܝܫܘܥ ܚܡܪܐ ܠܝܬ ܠܗܘܢ
lhwn lyth khmr' lyshwe 'mh lh w'mr' khmr' hw' wkhsr
When the wine ran out, Jesus’ mother said to him, “They have no wine.”

ܐܡܪ ܠܗ ܝܫܘܥ ܡܐ ܠܝ ܘܠܟܝ ܐܢܬܬܐ ܠܐ ܥܕܟܝܠ ܐܬܬ ܫܥܬܝ

Jesus said to her,
“Woman, what does that have to do with you and me? My hour has not yet come.”

ܐܡܪܐ ܐܡܗ ܠܡܫܡܫܢܐ ܡܕܡ ܕܐܡܪ ܠܟܘܢ ܥܒܕܘ
ebdw lkwn d'mr mdm lmshmshn' 'mh 'mr'
His mother said to the servants, “Whatever he says to you, do it.”

ܐܝܬ ܗܘܝ ܕܝܢ ܬܡܢ ܐܓܢܐ ܕܟܐܦܐ ܫܬ ܕܣܝܡܢ ܠܬܕܟܝܬܐ ܕܝܗܘܕܝܐ ܕܐܚܕܢ ܬܪܝܢ ܬܪܝܢ ܪܒܥܝܢ ܐܘ ܬܠܬܐ

Now there were six water pots of stone set there after the Jews’ way of purifying, containing two or three metretes apiece.

ܐܡܪ ܠܗܘܢ ܝܫܘܥ ܡܠܘ ܐܢܝܢ ܡܝܐ ܠܐܓܢܐ ܘܡܠܘ ܐܢܝܢ ܥܕܡܐ ܠܥܠ

Jesus said to them,
“Fill the water pots with water.” They filled them up to the brim.

ܐܡܪ ܠܗܘܢ ܙܠܘܥܘ ܡܟܝܠ ܘܐܝܬܘ ܠܪܝܫ ܣܡܟܐ ܘܐܝܬܝܘ

He said to them,
“Now draw some out, and take it to the ruler of the feast.” So they took it.

ܘܟܕ ܛܥܡ ܗܘ ܪܝܫ ܣܡܟܐ ܡܝܐ ܗܢܘܢ ܕܗܘܘ ܚܡܪܐ ܘܠܐ ܝܕܥ ܗܘܐ ܡܢ ܐܝܡܟܐ ܗܘܐ ܡܫܡܫܢܐ ܕܝܢ ܝܕܥܝܢ ܗܘܘ ܕܗܢܘܢ ܡܠܘ ܐܢܘܢ ܠܡܝܐ ܩܪܐ ܪܝܫ ܣܡܟܐ ܠܚܬܢܐ

When the ruler of the feast tasted the water now become wine, and didn’t know where it came from (but the servants who had drawn the water knew), the ruler of the feast called the bridegroom,

ܘܐܡܪ ܠܗ ܟܠ ܐܢܫ ܠܘܩܕܡ ܚܡܪܐ ܛܒܐ ܡܝܬܐ ܘܡܐ ܕܪܘܝܘ ܗܝܕܝܢ ܐܝܢܐ ܕܒܨܝܪ ܐܢܬ ܕܝܢ ܢܛܪܬܝܗܝ ܠܚܡܪܐ ܛܒܐ ܥܕܡܐ ܠܗܫܐ
lhsh' edm' Tb' lkhmr' nTrthyhy dyn 'nth dbtsyr 'yn' hydyn drwyw wm' myth' Tb' khmr' lwqdm 'nsh kl lh w'mr
and said to him, “Everyone serves the good wine first, and when the guests have drunk freely, then that which is worse. You have kept the good wine until now!”

ܗܕܐ ܗܝ ܐܬܐ ܩܕܡܝܬܐ ܕܥܒܕ ܝܫܘܥ ܒܩܛܢܐ ܕܓܠܝܠܐ ܘܐܘܕܥ ܫܘܒܚܗ ܘܗܝܡܢܘ ܒܗ ܬܠܡܝܕܘܗܝ
thlmydwhy bh whymnw shwbkhh w'wde dglyl' bqTn' yshwe debd qdmyth' 'th' hy hd'
This beginning of his signs Jesus did in Cana of Galilee, and revealed his glory; and his disciples believed in him.

ܒܬܪ ܗܕܐ ܢܚܬ ܠܟܦܪܢܚܘܡ ܗܘ ܘܐܡܗ ܘܐܚܘܗܝ ܘܬܠܡܝܕܘܗܝ ܘܬܡܢ ܗܘܘ ܩܠܝܠ ܝܘܡܬܐ
ywmth' qlyl hww wthmn wthlmydwhy w'khwhy w'mh hw lkprnkhwm nkhth hd' bthr
After this, he went down to Capernaum, he, and his mother, his brothers, and his disciples; and they stayed there a few days.

ܘܩܪܝܒ ܗܘܐ ܦܨܚܐ ܕܝܗܘܕܝܐ ܘܣܠܩ ܠܐܘܪܫܠܡ ܝܫܘܥ

The Passover of the Jews was at hand, and Jesus went up to Jerusalem.

ܘܐܫܟܚ ܒܗܝܟܠܐ ܠܗܠܝܢ ܕܡܙܒܢܝܢ ܬܘܪܐ ܘܥܪܒܐ ܘܝܘܢܐ ܘܠܡܥܪܦܢܐ ܕܝܬܒܝܢ
dythbyn wlmerpn' wywn' werb' thwr' dmzbnyn lhlyn bhykl' w'shkkh
He found in the temple those who sold oxen, sheep, and doves, and the changers of money sitting.

ܘܥܒܕ ܠܗ ܦܪܓܠܐ ܡܢ ܚܒܠܐ ܘܠܟܠܗܘܢ ܐܦܩ ܡܢ ܗܝܟܠܐ ܘܠܥܪܒܐ ܘܠܬܘܪܐ ܘܠܡܥܪܦܢܐ ܘܐܫܕ ܥܘܪܦܢܗܘܢ ܘܦܬܘܪܝܗܘܢ ܗܦܟ
hpk wpthwryhwn ewrpnhwn w'shd wlmerpn' wlthwr' wlerb' hykl' mn 'pq wlklhwn khbl' mn prgl' lh webd
He made a whip of cords, and threw all out of the temple, both the sheep and the oxen; and he poured out the changers’ money, and overthrew their tables.

ܘܠܗܢܘܢ ܕܡܙܒܢܝܢ ܝܘܢܐ ܐܡܪ ܫܩܘܠܘ ܗܠܝܢ ܡܟܐ ܘܠܐ ܬܥܒܕܘܢܗ ܠܒܝܬܗ ܕܐܒܝ ܒܝܬ ܬܐܓܘܪܬܐ
th'gwrth' byth d'by lbythh thebdwnh wl' mk' hlyn shqwlw 'mr ywn' dmzbnyn wlhnwn
To those who sold the doves, he said,
“Take these things out of here! Don’t make my Father’s house a marketplace!”

ܘܐܬܕܟܪܘ ܬܠܡܝܕܘܗܝ ܕܟܬܝܒ ܕܛܢܢܗ ܕܒܝܬܟ ܐܟܠܢܝ
'klny dbythk dTnnh dkthyb thlmydwhy w'thdkrw
His disciples remembered that it was written, “Zeal for your house will eat me up.”

ܥܢܘ ܕܝܢ ܝܗܘܕܝܐ ܘܐܡܪܘ ܠܗ ܡܢܐ ܐܬܐ ܡܚܘܐ ܐܢܬ ܠܢ ܕܗܠܝܢ ܥܒܕ ܐܢܬ
'nth ebd dhlyn ln 'nth mkhw' 'th' mn' lh w'mrw yhwdy' dyn enw
The Jews therefore answered him, “What sign do you show us, seeing that you do these things?”

ܥܢܐ ܝܫܘܥ ܘܐܡܪ ܠܗܘܢ ܣܬܘܪܘ ܗܝܟܠܐ ܗܢܐ ܘܠܬܠܬܐ ܝܘܡܝܢ ܐܢܐ ܡܩܝܡ ܐܢܐ ܠܗ
lh 'n' mqym 'n' ywmyn wlthlth' hn' hykl' sthwrw lhwn w'mr yshwe en'
Jesus answered them,
“Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up.”

ܐܡܪܝܢ ܠܗ ܝܗܘܕܝܐ ܠܐܪܒܥܝܢ ܘܫܬ ܫܢܝܢ ܐܬܒܢܝ ܗܝܟܠܐ ܗܢܐ ܘܐܢܬ ܠܬܠܬܐ ܝܘܡܝܢ ܡܩܝܡ ܐܢܬ ܠܗ
lh 'nth mqym ywmyn lthlth' w'nth hn' hykl' 'thbny shnyn wshth l'rbeyn yhwdy' lh 'mryn
The Jews therefore said, “It took forty-six years to build this temple! Will you raise it up in three days?”

ܗܘ ܕܝܢ ܐܡܪ ܗܘܐ ܥܠ ܗܝܟܠܐ ܕܦܓܪܗ
dpgrh hykl' el hw' 'mr dyn hw
But he spoke of the temple of his body.

ܟܕ ܩܡ ܕܝܢ ܡܢ ܒܝܬ ܡܝܬܐ ܐܬܕܟܪܘ ܬܠܡܝܕܘܗܝ ܕܗܕܐ ܐܡܪ ܗܘܐ ܘܗܝܡܢܘ ܠܟܬܒܐ ܘܠܡܠܬܐ ܕܐܡܪ ܝܫܘܥ
yshwe d'mr wlmlth' lkthb' whymnw hw' 'mr dhd' thlmydwhy 'thdkrw myth' byth mn dyn qm kd
When therefore he was raised from the dead, his disciples remembered that he said this, and they believed the Scripture, and the word which Jesus had said.

ܟܕ ܐܝܬܘܗܝ ܗܘܐ ܕܝܢ ܝܫܘܥ ܒܐܘܪܫܠܡ ܒܦܨܚܐ ܒܥܕܥܕܐ ܣܓܝܐܐ ܗܝܡܢܘ ܒܗ ܕܚܙܘ ܐܬܘܬܐ ܕܥܒܕ
debd 'thwth' dkhzw bh hymnw sgy'' beded' bptskh' b'wrshlm yshwe dyn hw' 'ythwhy kd
Now when he was in Jerusalem at the Passover, during the feast, many believed in his name, observing his signs which he did.

ܗܘ ܕܝܢ ܝܫܘܥ ܠܐ ܡܗܝܡܢ ܗܘܐ ܠܗܘܢ ܢܦܫܗ ܡܛܠ ܕܗܘ ܝܕܥ ܗܘܐ ܠܟܠܢܫ

But Jesus didn’t entrust himself to them, because he knew everyone,
