ܒܚܕ ܒܫܒܐ ܕܝܢ ܐܬܬ ܡܪܝܡ ܡܓܕܠܝܬܐ ܒܨܦܪܐ ܥܕ ܚܫܘܟ ܠܒܝܬ ܩܒܘܪܐ ܘܚܙܬ ܠܟܐܦܐ ܕܫܩܝܠܐ ܡܢ ܩܒܪܐ

Now on the first day of the week, Mary Magdalene went early, while it was still dark, to the tomb, and saw the stone taken away from the tomb.

ܘܪܗܛܬ ܐܬܬ ܠܘܬ ܫܡܥܘܢ ܟܐܦܐ ܘܠܘܬ ܗܘ ܬܠܡܝܕܐ ܐܚܪܢܐ ܕܪܚܡ ܗܘܐ ܝܫܘܥ ܘܐܡܪܐ ܠܗܘܢ ܕܫܩܠܘܗܝ ܠܡܪܢ ܡܢ ܗܘ ܒܝܬ ܩܒܘܪܐ ܘܠܐ ܝܕܥܐ ܐܢܐ ܐܝܟܐ ܣܡܘܗܝ

Therefore she ran and came to Simon Peter, and to the other disciple whom Jesus loved, and said to them, “They have taken away the Lord out of the tomb, and we don’t know where they have laid him!”

ܘܢܦܩ ܫܡܥܘܢ ܘܗܘ ܬܠܡܝܕܐ ܐܚܪܢܐ ܘܐܬܝܢ ܗܘܘ ܠܒܝܬ ܩܒܘܪܐ

Therefore Peter and the other disciple went out, and they went toward the tomb.

ܘܪܗܛܝܢ ܗܘܘ ܬܪܝܗܘܢ ܐܟܚܕܐ ܗܘ ܕܝܢ ܬܠܡܝܕܐ ܪܗܛ ܩܕܡܗ ܠܫܡܥܘܢ ܘܐܬܐ ܩܕܡܝܐ ܠܒܝܬ ܩܒܘܪܐ
qbwr' lbyth qdmy' w'th' lshmewn qdmh rhT thlmyd' dyn hw 'kkhd' thryhwn hww wrhTyn
They both ran together. The other disciple outran Peter, and came to the tomb first.

ܘܐܕܝܩ ܚܙܐ ܟܬܢܐ ܟܕ ܣܝܡܝܢ ܡܥܠ ܕܝܢ ܠܐ ܥܠ
el l' dyn mel symyn kd kthn' khz' w'dyq
Stooping and looking in, he saw the linen cloths lying, yet he didn’t enter in.

ܐܬܐ ܕܝܢ ܫܡܥܘܢ ܒܬܪܗ ܘܥܠ ܠܒܝܬ ܩܒܘܪܐ ܘܚܙܐ ܟܬܢܐ ܟܕ ܣܝܡܝܢ

Then Simon Peter came, following him, and entered into the tomb. He saw the linen cloths lying,

ܘܣܘܕܪܐ ܗܘ ܕܚܙܝܩ ܗܘܐ ܒܪܫܗ ܠܐ ܥܡ ܟܬܢܐ ܐܠܐ ܟܕ ܟܪܝܟ ܘܣܝܡ ܠܣܛܪ ܒܚܕܐ ܕܘܟܐ
dwk' bkhd' lsTr wsym kryk kd 'l' kthn' em l' brshh hw' dkhzyq hw wswdr'
and the cloth that had been on his head, not lying with the linen cloths, but rolled up in a place by itself.

ܗܝܕܝܢ ܥܠ ܐܦ ܗܘ ܬܠܡܝܕܐ ܕܐܬܐ ܩܕܡܝܐ ܠܒܝܬ ܩܒܘܪܐ ܘܚܙܐ ܘܗܝܡܢ
whymn wkhz' qbwr' lbyth qdmy' d'th' thlmyd' hw 'p el hydyn
So then the other disciple who came first to the tomb also entered in, and he saw and believed.

ܠܐ ܓܝܪ ܥܕܟܝܠ ܝܕܥܝܢ ܗܘܘ ܡܢ ܟܬܒܐ ܕܥܬܝܕ ܗܘܐ ܠܡܩܡ ܡܢ ܡܝܬܐ
myth' mn lmqm hw' dethyd kthb' mn hww ydeyn edkyl gyr l'
For as yet they didn’t know the Scripture, that he must rise from the dead.

ܘܐܙܠܘ ܗܢܘܢ ܬܠܡܝܕܐ ܬܘܒ ܠܕܘܟܬܗܘܢ

So the disciples went away again to their own homes.

ܡܪܝܡ ܕܝܢ ܩܝܡܐ ܗܘܬ ܠܘܬ ܩܒܪܐ ܘܒܟܝܐ ܘܟܕ ܒܟܝܐ ܐܕܝܩܬ ܒܩܒܪܐ
bqbr' 'dyqth bky' wkd wbky' qbr' lwth hwth qym' dyn mrym
But Mary was standing outside at the tomb weeping. So, as she wept, she stooped and looked into the tomb,

ܘܚܙܬ ܬܪܝܢ ܡܠܐܟܐ ܒܚܘܪܐ ܕܝܬܒܝܢ ܚܕ ܡܢ ܐܣܕܘܗܝ ܘܚܕ ܡܢ ܪܓܠܘܗܝ ܐܝܟܐ ܕܣܝܡ ܗܘܐ ܦܓܪܗ ܕܝܫܘܥ
dyshwe pgrh hw' dsym 'yk' rglwhy mn wkhd 'sdwhy mn khd dythbyn bkhwr' ml'k' thryn wkhzth
and she saw two angels in white sitting, one at the head, and one at the feet, where the body of Jesus had lain.

ܘܐܡܪܝܢ ܠܗ ܐܢܬܬܐ ܡܢܐ ܒܟܝܐ ܐܢܬܝ ܐܡܪܐ ܠܗܘܢ ܕܫܩܠܘܗܝ ܠܡܪܝ ܘܠܐ ܝܕܥܐ ܐܢܐ ܐܝܟܐ ܣܡܘܗܝ
smwhy 'yk' 'n' yde' wl' lmry dshqlwhy lhwn 'mr' 'nthy bky' mn' 'nthth' lh w'mryn
They told her, “Woman, why are you weeping?”
She said to them, “Because they have taken away my Lord, and I don’t know where they have laid him.”

ܗܕܐ ܐܡܪܬ ܘܐܬܦܢܝܬ ܠܒܣܬܪܗ ܘܚܙܬ ܠܝܫܘܥ ܕܩܐܡ ܘܠܐ ܝܕܥܐ ܗܘܬ ܕܝܫܘܥ ܗܘ
hw dyshwe hwth yde' wl' dq'm lyshwe wkhzth lbsthrh w'thpnyth 'mrth hd'
When she had said this, she turned around and saw Jesus standing, and didn’t know that it was Jesus.

ܐܡܪ ܠܗ ܝܫܘܥ ܐܢܬܬܐ ܡܢܐ ܒܟܝܐ ܐܢܬܝ ܘܠܡܢ ܒܥܝܐ ܐܢܬܝ ܗܝ ܕܝܢ ܣܒܪܬ ܕܓܢܢܐ ܗܘ ܘܐܡܪܐ ܠܗ ܡܪܝ ܐܢ ܐܢܬ ܫܩܠܬܝܗܝ ܐܡܪ ܠܝ ܐܝܟܐ ܣܡܬܝܗܝ ܐܙܠ ܐܫܩܠܝܘܗܝ

Jesus said to her,
“Woman, why are you weeping? Who are you looking for?”
She, supposing him to be the gardener, said to him, “Sir, if you have carried him away, tell me where you have laid him, and I will take him away.”

ܐܡܪ ܠܗ ܝܫܘܥ ܡܪܝܡ ܘܐܬܦܢܝܬ ܘܐܡܪܐ ܠܗ ܥܒܪܐܝܬ ܪܒܘܠܝ ܕܡܬܐܡܪ ܡܠܦܢܐ
mlpn' dmth'mr rbwly ebr'yth lh w'mr' w'thpnyth mrym yshwe lh 'mr
Jesus said to her,
“Mary.”
She turned and said to him, “Rabboni!” which is to say, “Teacher!”

ܐܡܪ ܠܗ ܝܫܘܥ ܠܐ ܬܬܩܪܒܝܢ ܠܝ ܠܐ ܓܝܪ ܥܕܟܝܠ ܣܠܩܬ ܠܘܬ ܐܒܝ ܙܠܝ ܕܝܢ ܠܘܬ ܐܚܝ ܘܐܡܪܝ ܠܗܘܢ ܣܠܩ ܐܢܐ ܠܘܬ ܐܒܝ ܘܐܒܘܟܘܢ ܘܐܠܗܝ ܘܐܠܗܟܘܢ

Jesus said to her,
“Don’t hold me, for I haven’t yet ascended to my Father; but go to my brothers, and tell them, ‘I am ascending to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God.’”

ܗܝܕܝܢ ܐܬܬ ܡܪܝܡ ܡܓܕܠܝܬܐ ܘܣܒܪܬ ܠܬܠܡܝܕܐ ܕܚܙܬ ܠܡܪܢ ܘܕܗܠܝܢ ܐܡܪ ܠܗ
lh 'mr wdhlyn lmrn dkhzth lthlmyd' wsbrth mgdlyth' mrym 'thth hydyn
Mary Magdalene came and told the disciples that she had seen the Lord, and that he had said these things to her.

ܟܕ ܗܘܐ ܕܝܢ ܪܡܫܐ ܕܝܘܡܐ ܗܘ ܕܚܕ ܒܫܒܐ ܘܬܪܥܐ ܐܚܝܕܝܢ ܗܘܘ ܕܐܝܟܐ ܕܐܝܬܝܗܘܢ ܗܘܘ ܬܠܡܝܕܐ ܡܛܠ ܕܚܠܬܐ ܕܝܗܘܕܝܐ ܐܬܐ ܝܫܘܥ ܩܡ ܒܝܢܬܗܘܢ ܘܐܡܪ ܠܗܘܢ ܫܠܡܐ ܥܡܟܘܢ

When therefore it was evening, on that day, the first day of the week, and when the doors were locked where the disciples were assembled, for fear of the Jews, Jesus came and stood in the middle, and said to them,
“Peace be to you.”

ܗܕܐ ܐܡܪ ܘܚܘܝ ܐܢܘܢ ܐܝܕܘܗܝ ܘܣܛܪܗ ܘܚܕܝܘ ܬܠܡܝܕܐ ܕܚܙܘ ܠܡܪܢ
lmrn dkhzw thlmyd' wkhdyw wsTrh 'ydwhy 'nwn wkhwy 'mr hd'
When he had said this, he showed them his hands and his side. The disciples therefore were glad when they saw the Lord.

ܐܡܪ ܠܗܘܢ ܕܝܢ ܬܘܒ ܝܫܘܥ ܫܠܡܐ ܥܡܟܘܢ ܐܝܟܢܐ ܕܫܕܪܢܝ ܐܒܝ ܐܦ ܐܢܐ ܡܫܕܪ ܐܢܐ ܠܟܘܢ
lkwn 'n' mshdr 'n' 'p 'by dshdrny 'ykn' emkwn shlm' yshwe thwb dyn lhwn 'mr
Jesus therefore said to them again,
“Peace be to you. As the Father has sent me, even so I send you.”

ܘܟܕ ܐܡܪ ܗܠܝܢ ܢܦܚ ܒܗܘܢ ܘܐܡܪ ܠܗܘܢ ܩܒܠܘ ܪܘܚܐ ܕܩܘܕܫܐ
dqwdsh' rwkh' qblw lhwn w'mr bhwn npkh hlyn 'mr wkd
When he had said this, he breathed on them, and said to them,
“Receive the Holy Spirit!

ܐܢ ܬܫܒܩܘܢ ܚܛܗܐ ܠܐܢܫ ܢܫܬܒܩܘܢ ܠܗ ܘܐܢ ܬܐܚܕܘܢ ܕܐܢܫ ܐܚܝܕܝܢ
'khydyn d'nsh th'khdwn w'n lh nshthbqwn l'nsh khTh' thshbqwn 'n
If you forgive anyone’s sins, they have been forgiven them. If you retain anyone’s sins, they have been retained.”

ܬܐܘܡܐ ܕܝܢ ܚܕ ܡܢ ܬܪܥܣܪܬܐ ܗܘ ܕܡܬܐܡܪ ܬܐܡܐ ܠܐ ܗܘܐ ܬܡܢ ܗܘܐ ܥܡܗܘܢ ܟܕ ܐܬܐ ܝܫܘܥ
yshwe 'th' kd emhwn hw' thmn hw' l' th'm' dmth'mr hw thresrth' mn khd dyn th'wm'
But Thomas, one of the twelve, called Didymus, wasn’t with them when Jesus came.

ܘܐܡܪܝܢ ܠܗ ܬܠܡܝܕܐ ܚܙܝܢ ܠܡܪܢ ܗܘ ܕܝܢ ܐܡܪ ܠܗܘܢ ܐܠܐ ܚܙܐ ܐܢܐ ܒܐܝܕܘܗܝ ܕܘܟܝܬܐ ܕܨܨܐ ܘܪܡܐ ܐܢܐ ܒܗܝܢ ܨܒܥܬܝ ܘܡܘܫܛ ܐܢܐ ܐܝܕܝ ܒܕܦܢܗ ܠܐ ܡܗܝܡܢ ܐܢܐ
'n' mhymn l' bdpnh 'ydy 'n' wmwshT tsbethy bhyn 'n' wrm' dtsts' dwkyth' b'ydwhy 'n' khz' 'l' lhwn 'mr dyn hw lmrn khzyn thlmyd' lh w'mryn
The other disciples therefore said to him, “We have seen the Lord!”
But he said to them, “Unless I see in his hands the print of the nails, put my finger into the print of the nails, and put my hand into his side, I will not believe.”

ܘܒܬܪ ܬܡܢܝܐ ܝܘܡܝܢ ܬܘܒ ܠܓܘ ܗܘܘ ܬܠܡܝܕܐ ܘܬܐܘܡܐ ܥܡܗܘܢ ܘܐܬܐ ܝܫܘܥ ܟܕ ܐܚܝܕܝܢ ܬܪܥܐ ܩܡ ܒܡܨܥܬܐ ܘܐܡܪ ܠܗܘܢ ܫܠܡܐ ܥܡܟܘܢ
emkwn shlm' lhwn w'mr bmtseth' qm thre' 'khydyn kd yshwe w'th' emhwn wth'wm' thlmyd' hww lgw thwb ywmyn thmny' wbthr
After eight days again his disciples were inside, and Thomas was with them. Jesus came, the doors being locked, and stood in the middle, and said,
“Peace be to you.”

ܘܐܡܪ ܠܬܐܘܡܐ ܐܝܬܐ ܨܒܥܟ ܠܗܪܟܐ ܘܚܙܝ ܐܝܕܝ ܘܐܝܬܐ ܐܝܕܟ ܘܐܘܫܛ ܒܓܒܝ ܘܠܐ ܬܗܘܐ ܠܐ ܡܗܝܡܢܐ ܐܠܐ ܡܗܝܡܢܐ
mhymn' 'l' mhymn' l' thhw' wl' bgby w'wshT 'ydk w'yth' 'ydy wkhzy lhrk' tsbek 'yth' lth'wm' w'mr
Then he said to Thomas,
“Reach here your finger, and see my hands. Reach here your hand, and put it into my side. Don’t be unbelieving, but believing.”

ܘܥܢܐ ܬܐܘܡܐ ܘܐܡܪ ܠܗ ܡܪܝ ܘܐܠܗܝ

Thomas answered him, “My Lord and my God!”

ܐܡܪ ܠܗ ܝܫܘܥ ܗܫܐ ܕܚܙܝܬܢܝ ܗܝܡܢܬ ܛܘܒܝܗܘܢ ܠܐܝܠܝܢ ܕܠܐ ܚܙܐܘܢܝ ܘܗܝܡܢܘ
whymnw khz'wny dl' l'ylyn Twbyhwn hymnth dkhzythny hsh' yshwe lh 'mr
Jesus said to him,
“Because you have seen me,
you have believed. Blessed are those who have not seen, and have believed.”

ܣܓܝܐܬܐ ܕܝܢ ܐܬܘܬܐ ܐܚܪܢܝܬܐ ܥܒܕ ܝܫܘܥ ܩܕܡ ܬܠܡܝܕܘܗܝ ܐܝܠܝܢ ܕܠܐ ܟܬܝܒܢ ܒܟܬܒܐ ܗܢܐ
hn' bkthb' kthybn dl' 'ylyn thlmydwhy qdm yshwe ebd 'khrnyth' 'thwth' dyn sgy'th'
Therefore Jesus did many other signs in the presence of his disciples, which are not written in this book;

ܐܦ ܗܠܝܢ ܕܝܢ ܕܟܬܝܒܢ ܕܬܗܝܡܢܘܢ ܕܝܫܘܥ ܗܘ ܡܫܝܚܐ ܒܪܗ ܕܐܠܗܐ ܘܡܐ ܕܗܝܡܢܬܘܢ ܢܗܘܘܢ ܠܟܘܢ ܒܫܡܗ ܚܝܐ ܕܠܥܠܡ
dlelm khy' bshmh lkwn nhwwn dhymnthwn wm' d'lh' brh mshykh' hw dyshwe dthhymnwn dkthybn dyn hlyn 'p
but these are written, that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that believing you may have life in his name.
