ܟܠ ܫܒܫܬܐ ܕܒܝ ܦܐܪܐ ܠܐ ܝܗܒܐ ܫܩܠ ܠܗ ܘܐܝܕܐ ܕܝܗܒܐ ܦܐܪܐ ܡܕܟܐ ܠܗ ܕܦܐܪܐ ܣܓܝܐܐ ܬܝܬܐ
kl shbshth' dby p'r' l' yhb' shql lh w'yd' dyhb' p'r' mdk' lh dp'r' sgy'' thyth'
Every branch in me that doesn’t bear fruit, he takes away. Every branch that bears fruit, he prunes, that it may bear more fruit.

ܐܢܬܘܢ ܡܢ ܟܕܘ ܕܟܝܢ ܐܢܬܘܢ ܡܛܠ ܡܠܬܐ ܕܡܠܠܬ ܥܡܟܘܢ
'nthwn mn kdw dkyn 'nthwn mTl mlth' dmllth emkwn
You are already pruned clean because of the word which I have spoken to you.

ܩܘܘ ܒܝ ܘܐܢܐ ܒܟܘܢ ܐܝܟܢܐ ܕܫܒܫܬܐ ܠܐ ܡܫܟܚܐ ܕܬܬܠ ܦܐܪܐ ܡܢ ܢܦܫܗ ܐܠܐ ܡܩܘܝܐ ܒܓܦܬܐ ܗܟܢܐ ܐܦ ܠܐ ܐܢܬܘܢ ܐܠܐ ܬܩܘܘܢ ܒܝ

Remain in me, and I in you. As the branch can’t bear fruit by itself, unless it remains in the vine, so neither can you, unless you remain in me.

ܐܢܐ ܐܢܐ ܓܦܬܐ ܘܐܢܬܘܢ ܫܒܫܬܐ ܡܢ ܕܡܩܘܐ ܒܝ ܘܐܢܐ ܒܗ ܗܢܐ ܡܝܬܐ ܦܐܪܐ ܣܓܝܐܐ ܡܛܠ ܕܕܠܐ ܐܢܐ ܠܐ ܡܫܟܚܝܢ ܐܢܬܘܢ ܠܡܥܒܕ ܡܕܡ

I am the vine. You are the branches. He who remains in me, and I in him, the same bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing.

ܐܠܐ ܕܝܢ ܐܢܫ ܡܩܘܐ ܒܝ ܡܫܬܕܐ ܠܒܪ ܐܝܟ ܫܒܫܬܐ ܕܝܒܫܐ ܘܠܩܛܝܢ ܪܡܝܢ ܠܗ ܒܢܘܪܐ ܕܬܐܩܕ

If a man doesn’t remain in me, he is thrown out as a branch, and is withered; and they gather them, throw them into the fire, and they are burned.

ܐܢ ܕܝܢ ܬܩܘܘܢ ܒܝ ܘܡܠܝ ܢܩܘܝܢ ܒܟܘܢ ܟܠ ܡܐ ܕܬܨܒܘܢ ܠܡܫܐܠ ܢܗܘܐ ܠܟܘܢ
'n dyn thqwwn by wmly nqwyn bkwn kl m' dthtsbwn lmsh'l nhw' lkwn
If you remain in me, and my words remain in you, you will ask whatever you desire, and it will be done for you.

ܒܗܕܐ ܡܫܬܒܚ ܐܒܐ ܕܦܐܪܐ ܣܓܝܐܐ ܬܝܬܘܢ ܘܬܗܘܘܢ ܬܠܡܝܕܝ

“In this is my Father glorified, that you bear much fruit; and so you will be my disciples.

ܐܝܟܢܐ ܕܐܚܒܢܝ ܐܒܝ ܐܦ ܐܢܐ ܐܚܒܬܟܘܢ ܩܘܘ ܒܪܚܡܬܝ ܕܝܠܝ
'ykn' d'khbny 'by 'p 'n' 'khbthkwn qww brkhmthy dyly
Even as the Father has loved me, I also have loved you. Remain in my love.

ܐܢ ܦܘܩܕܢܝ ܬܛܪܘܢ ܬܩܘܘܢ ܒܚܘܒܐ ܕܝܠܝ ܐܝܟܢܐ ܕܐܢܐ ܢܛܪܬ ܦܘܩܕܢܘܗܝ ܕܐܒܝ ܘܡܩܘܐ ܐܢܐ ܒܚܘܒܗ
'n pwqdny thTrwn thqwwn bkhwb' dyly 'ykn' d'n' nTrth pwqdnwhy d'by wmqw' 'n' bkhwbh
If you keep my commandments, you will remain in my love; even as I have kept my Father’s commandments, and remain in his love.

ܗܠܝܢ ܡܠܠܬ ܥܡܟܘܢ ܕܚܕܘܬܝ ܬܗܘܐ ܒܟܘܢ ܘܬܫܬܡܠܐ ܚܕܘܬܟܘܢ

I have spoken these things to you, that my joy may remain in you, and that your joy may be made full.

ܗܢܘ ܦܘܩܕܢܝ ܕܬܚܒܘܢ ܚܕ ܠܚܕ ܐܝܟܢܐ ܕܐܢܐ ܐܚܒܬܟܘܢ

“This is my commandment, that you love one another, even as I have loved you.

ܚܘܒܐ ܕܪܒ ܡܢ ܗܢܐ ܠܝܬ ܕܐܢܫ ܢܦܫܗ ܢܣܝܡ ܚܠܦ ܪܚܡܘܗܝ

Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends.

ܐܢܬܘܢ ܪܚܡܝ ܐܢܬܘܢ ܐܢ ܬܥܒܕܘܢ ܟܠ ܕܡܦܩܕ ܐܢܐ ܠܟܘܢ

You are my friends, if you do whatever I command you.

ܠܐ ܡܟܝܠ ܩܪܐ ܐܢܐ ܠܟܘܢ ܥܒܕܐ ܡܛܠ ܕܥܒܕܐ ܠܐ ܝܕܥ ܡܢܐ ܥܒܕ ܡܪܗ ܪܚܡܝ ܕܝܢ ܩܪܝܬܟܘܢ ܡܛܠ ܕܟܠ ܕܫܡܥܬ ܡܢ ܐܒܝ ܐܘܕܥܬܟܘܢ
l' mkyl qr' 'n' lkwn ebd' mTl debd' l' yde mn' ebd mrh rkhmy dyn qrythkwn mTl dkl dshmeth mn 'by 'wdethkwn
No longer do I call you servants, for the servant doesn’t know what his lord does. But I have called you friends, for everything that I heard from my Father, I have made known to you.

ܠܐ ܗܘܐ ܐܢܬܘܢ ܓܒܝܬܘܢܢܝ ܐܠܐ ܐܢܐ ܗܘ ܓܒܝܬܟܘܢ ܘܣܡܬܟܘܢ ܕܐܦ ܐܢܬܘܢ ܬܐܙܠܘܢ ܬܝܬܘܢ ܦܐܪܐ ܘܦܐܪܝܟܘܢ ܢܩܘܘܢ ܕܟܠ ܕܬܫܐܠܘܢ ܠܐܒܝ ܒܫܡܝ ܢܬܠ ܠܟܘܢ

You didn’t choose me, but I chose you, and appointed you, that you should go and bear fruit, and that your fruit should remain; that whatever you will ask of the Father in my name, he may give it to you.

ܗܠܝܢ ܡܦܩܕ ܐܢܐ ܠܟܘܢ ܕܬܚܒܘܢ ܚܕ ܠܚܕ

“I command these things to you, that you may love one another.

ܘܐܢ ܥܠܡܐ ܣܢܐ ܠܟܘܢ ܕܥܘ ܕܩܕܡܝܟܘܢ ܠܝ ܣܢܐ
w'n elm' sn' lkwn dew dqdmykwn ly sn'
If the world hates you, you know that it has hated me before it hated you.

ܘܐܠܘ ܡܢ ܥܠܡܐ ܗܘܝܬܘܢ ܥܠܡܐ ܠܕܝܠܗ ܪܚܡ ܗܘܐ ܐܠܐ ܠܐ ܗܘܝܬܘܢ ܡܢ ܥܠܡܐ ܐܢܐ ܓܝܪ ܓܒܝܬܟܘܢ ܡܢ ܥܠܡܐ ܡܛܠ ܗܢܐ ܣܢܐ ܠܟܘܢ ܥܠܡܐ
w'lw mn elm' hwythwn elm' ldylh rkhm hw' 'l' l' hwythwn mn elm' 'n' gyr gbythkwn mn elm' mTl hn' sn' lkwn elm'
If you were of the world, the world would love its own. But because you are not of the world, since I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you.

ܥܗܕܘ ܡܠܬܐ ܕܐܢܐ ܐܡܪܬ ܠܟܘܢ ܕܠܝܬ ܥܒܕܐ ܕܪܒ ܡܢ ܡܪܗ ܐܢ ܠܝ ܪܕܦܘ ܐܦ ܠܟܘܢ ܢܪܕܦܘܢ ܘܐܢ ܡܠܬܝ ܢܛܪܘ ܐܦ ܕܝܠܟܘܢ ܢܛܪܘܢ
ehdw mlth' d'n' 'mrth lkwn dlyth ebd' drb mn mrh 'n ly rdpw 'p lkwn nrdpwn w'n mlthy nTrw 'p dylkwn nTrwn
Remember the word that I said to you: ‘A servant is not greater than his lord.’
If they persecuted me, they will also persecute you. If they kept my word, they will also keep yours.

ܐܠܐ ܗܠܝܢ ܟܠܗܝܢ ܢܥܒܕܘܢ ܒܟܘܢ ܡܛܠ ܫܡܝ ܕܝܠܝ ܕܠܐ ܝܕܥܝܢ ܠܡܢ ܕܫܕܪܢܝ
'l' hlyn klhyn nebdwn bkwn mTl shmy dyly dl' ydeyn lmn dshdrny
But all these things will they do to you for my name’s sake, because they don’t know him who sent me.

ܐܠܘ ܐܢܐ ܠܐ ܐܬܝܬ ܡܠܠܬ ܥܡܗܘܢ ܠܝܬ ܗܘܬ ܠܗܘܢ ܚܛܝܬܐ ܗܫܐ ܕܝܢ ܠܝܬ ܠܗܘܢ ܥܠܬܐ ܥܠ ܐܦܝ ܚܛܝܬܗܘܢ
'lw 'n' l' 'thyth mllth emhwn lyth hwth lhwn khTyth' hsh' dyn lyth lhwn elth' el 'py khTythhwn
If I had not come and spoken to them, they would not have had sin; but now they have no excuse for their sin.

ܡܢ ܕܠܝ ܣܢܐ ܘܐܦ ܠܐܒܝ ܣܢܐ

He who hates me, hates my Father also.

ܘܐܠܘ ܥܒܕܐ ܠܐ ܥܒܕܬ ܠܥܢܝܗܘܢ ܐܝܠܝܢ ܕܐܢܫ ܐܚܪܝܢ ܠܐ ܥܒܕ ܠܝܬ ܗܘܐ ܠܗܘܢ ܚܛܝܬܐ ܗܫܐ ܕܝܢ ܘܚܙܘ ܘܣܢܘ ܐܦ ܠܝ ܘܐܦ ܠܐܒܝ

If I hadn’t done among them the works which no one else did, they wouldn’t have had sin. But now have they seen and also hated both me and my Father.

ܕܬܬܡܠܐ ܡܠܬܐ ܕܟܬܝܒܐ ܒܢܡܘܣܗܘܢ ܕܣܢܐܘܢܝ ܡܓܢ

But this happened so that the word may be fulfilled which was written in their law, ‘They hated me without a cause.’

ܡܐ ܕܝܢ ܕܐܬܐ ܦܪܩܠܛܐ ܗܘ ܕܐܢܐ ܡܫܕܪ ܐܢܐ ܠܟܘܢ ܡܢ ܠܘܬ ܐܒܝ ܪܘܚܐ ܕܫܪܪܐ ܗܘ ܕܡܢ ܠܘܬ ܐܒܝ ܢܦܩ ܗܘ ܢܣܗܕ ܥܠܝ

“When the Counselor
has come, whom I will send to you from the Father, the Spirit of truth, who proceeds from the Father, he will testify about me.

ܐܦ ܐܢܬܘܢ ܣܗܕܝܢ ܐܢܬܘܢ ܕܡܢ ܫܘܪܝܐ ܥܡܝ ܐܢܬܘܢ

You will also testify, because you have been with me from the beginning.
