ܐܡܝܢ ܐܡܝܢ ܐܡܪ ܐܢܐ ܠܟܘܢ ܕܡܢ ܕܠܐ ܥܐܠ ܡܢ ܬܪܥܐ ܠܛܝܪܐ ܕܥܢܐ ܐܠܐ ܣܠܩ ܡܢ ܕܘܟܐ ܐܚܪܢܝܐ ܗܘ ܓܢܒܐ ܗܘ ܘܓܝܣܐ
wgys' hw gnb' hw 'khrny' dwk' mn slq 'l' den' lTyr' thre' mn e'l dl' dmn lkwn 'n' 'mr 'myn 'myn
“Most certainly, I tell you, one who doesn’t enter by the door into the sheep fold, but climbs up some other way, the same is a thief and a robber.

ܗܘ ܕܝܢ ܕܥܐܠ ܡܢ ܬܪܥܐ ܪܥܝܐ ܗܘ ܕܥܢܐ
den' hw rey' thre' mn de'l dyn hw
But one who enters in by the door is the shepherd of the sheep.

ܘܠܗܢܐ ܢܛܪ ܬܪܥܐ ܦܬܚ ܠܗ ܬܪܥܐ ܘܥܢܐ ܫܡܥܐ ܩܠܗ ܘܥܪܒܘܗܝ ܩܪܐ ܒܫܡܗܝܗܘܢ ܘܡܦܩ ܠܗܘܢ
lhwn wmpq bshmhyhwn qr' werbwhy qlh shme' wen' thre' lh pthkh thre' nTr wlhn'
The gatekeeper opens the gate for him, and the sheep listen to his voice. He calls his own sheep by name, and leads them out.

ܘܡܐ ܕܐܦܩ ܥܢܗ ܩܕܡܝܗ ܐܙܠ ܘܥܪܒܘܗܝ ܕܝܠܗ ܐܙܠܝܢ ܒܬܪܗ ܡܛܠ ܕܝܕܥܝܢ ܩܠܗ
qlh dydeyn mTl bthrh 'zlyn dylh werbwhy 'zl qdmyh enh d'pq wm'
Whenever he brings out his own sheep, he goes before them, and the sheep follow him, for they know his voice.

ܒܬܪ ܢܘܟܪܝܐ ܕܝܢ ܠܐ ܐܙܠܐ ܥܢܐ ܐܠܐ ܥܪܩܐ ܡܢܗ ܕܠܐ ܝܕܥܐ ܩܠܗ ܕܢܘܟܪܝܐ
dnwkry' qlh yde' dl' mnh erq' 'l' en' 'zl' l' dyn nwkry' bthr
They will by no means follow a stranger, but will flee from him; for they don’t know the voice of strangers.”

ܗܕܐ ܦܠܐܬܐ ܐܡܪ ܠܗܘܢ ܝܫܘܥ ܗܢܘܢ ܕܝܢ ܠܐ ܝܕܥܘ ܡܢܐ ܡܠܠ ܥܡܗܘܢ
emhwn mll mn' ydew l' dyn hnwn yshwe lhwn 'mr pl'th' hd'
Jesus spoke this parable to them, but they didn’t understand what he was telling them.

ܐܡܪ ܠܗܘܢ ܕܝܢ ܬܘܒ ܝܫܘܥ ܐܡܝܢ ܐܡܝܢ ܐܡܪ ܐܢܐ ܠܟܘܢ ܕܐܢܐ ܐܢܐ ܬܪܥܗ ܕܥܢܐ
den' threh 'n' d'n' lkwn 'n' 'mr 'myn 'myn yshwe thwb dyn lhwn 'mr
Jesus therefore said to them again,
“Most certainly, I tell you, I am the sheep’s door.

ܘܟܠܗܘܢ ܐܝܠܝܢ ܕܐܬܘ ܓܢܒܐ ܐܢܘܢ ܘܓܝܣܐ ܐܠܐ ܠܐ ܫܡܥܬ ܐܢܘܢ ܥܢܐ
en' 'nwn shmeth l' 'l' wgys' 'nwn gnb' d'thw 'ylyn wklhwn
All who came before me are thieves and robbers, but the sheep didn’t listen to them.

ܐܢܐ ܐܢܐ ܬܪܥܐ ܘܒܝ ܐܢ ܐܢܫ ܢܥܘܠ ܢܚܐ ܘܢܥܘܠ ܘܢܦܘܩ ܘܪܥܝܐ ܢܫܟܚ
nshkkh wrey' wnpwq wnewl nkh' newl 'nsh 'n wby thre' 'n' 'n'
I am the door. If anyone enters in by me, he will be saved, and will go in and go out, and will find pasture.

ܓܢܒܐ ܠܐ ܐܬܐ ܐܠܐ ܕܢܓܢܘܒ ܘܕܢܩܛܘܠ ܘܕܢܘܒܕ ܐܢܐ ܐܬܝܬ ܕܚܝܐ ܢܗܘܘܢ ܠܗܘܢ ܘܡܕܡ ܕܝܬܝܪ ܢܗܘܐ ܠܗܘܢ
lhwn nhw' dythyr wmdm lhwn nhwwn dkhy' 'thyth 'n' wdnwbd wdnqTwl dngnwb 'l' 'th' l' gnb'
The thief only comes to steal, kill, and destroy. I came that they may have life, and may have it abundantly.

ܐܢܐ ܐܢܐ ܪܥܝܐ ܛܒܐ ܪܥܝܐ ܛܒܐ ܢܦܫܗ ܣܐܡ ܚܠܦ ܥܢܗ

I am the good shepherd.
The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep.

ܐܓܝܪܐ ܕܝܢ ܕܠܐ ܗܘܐ ܪܥܝܐ ܘܠܘ ܕܝܠܗ ܐܢܘܢ ܥܪܒܐ ܡܐ ܕܚܙܐ ܕܐܒܐ ܕܐܬܐ ܫܒܩ ܥܢܐ ܘܥܪܩ ܘܐܬܐ ܕܐܒܐ ܚܛܦ ܘܡܒܕܪ ܠܗ ܠܥܢܐ
len' lh wmbdr khTp d'b' w'th' werq en' shbq d'th' d'b' dkhz' m' erb' 'nwn dylh wlw rey' hw' dl' dyn 'gyr'
He who is a hired hand, and not a shepherd, who doesn’t own the sheep, sees the wolf coming, leaves the sheep, and flees. The wolf snatches the sheep, and scatters them.

ܐܓܝܪܐ ܕܝܢ ܥܪܩ ܡܛܠ ܕܐܓܝܪܐ ܗܘ ܘܠܐ ܒܛܝܠ ܠܗ ܥܠ ܥܢܐ
en' el lh bTyl wl' hw d'gyr' mTl erq dyn 'gyr'
The hired hand flees because he is a hired hand, and doesn’t care for the sheep.

ܐܢܐ ܐܢܐ ܪܥܝܐ ܛܒܐ ܘܝܕܥ ܐܢܐ ܠܕܝܠܝ ܘܡܬܝܕܥ ܐܢܐ ܡܢ ܕܝܠܝ
dyly mn 'n' wmthyde ldyly 'n' wyde Tb' rey' 'n' 'n'
I am the good shepherd. I know my own, and I’m known by my own;

ܐܝܟܢܐ ܕܝܕܥ ܠܝ ܐܒܝ ܘܐܢܐ ܝܕܥ ܐܢܐ ܠܐܒܝ ܘܢܦܫܝ ܣܐܡ ܐܢܐ ܚܠܦ ܥܢܐ
en' khlp 'n' s'm wnpshy l'by 'n' yde w'n' 'by ly dyde 'ykn'
even as the Father knows me, and I know the Father. I lay down my life for the sheep.

ܐܝܬ ܠܝ ܕܝܢ ܐܦ ܥܪܒܐ ܐܚܪܢܐ ܐܝܠܝܢ ܕܠܐ ܗܘܘ ܡܢ ܛܝܪܐ ܗܢܐ ܘܐܦ ܠܗܘܢ ܘܠܐ ܠܝ ܠܡܝܬܝܘ ܐܢܘܢ ܘܢܫܡܥܘܢ ܩܠܝ ܘܬܗܘܐ ܥܢܐ ܟܠܗ ܚܕܐ ܘܚܕ ܪܥܝܐ
rey' wkhd khd' klh en' wthhw' qly wnshmewn 'nwn lmythyw ly wl' lhwn w'p hn' Tyr' mn hww dl' 'ylyn 'khrn' erb' 'p dyn ly 'yth
I have other sheep, which are not of this fold.
I must bring them also, and they will hear my voice. They will become one flock with one shepherd.

ܡܛܠ ܗܢܐ ܐܒܝ ܪܚܡ ܠܝ ܕܐܢܐ ܣܐܡ ܐܢܐ ܢܦܫܝ ܕܬܘܒ ܐܣܒܝܗ
'sbyh dthwb npshy 'n' s'm d'n' ly rkhm 'by hn' mTl
Therefore the Father loves me, because I lay down my life,
that I may take it again.

ܠܐ ܗܘܐ ܐܢܫ ܫܩܠ ܠܗ ܡܢܝ ܐܠܐ ܐܢܐ ܣܐܡ ܐܢܐ ܠܗ ܡܢ ܨܒܝܢܝ ܫܠܝܛ ܐܢܐ ܓܝܪ ܕܐܣܝܡܝܗ ܘܫܠܝܛ ܐܢܐ ܕܬܘܒ ܐܣܒܝܗ ܕܗܢܐ ܦܘܩܕܢܐ ܩܒܠܬ ܡܢ ܐܒܝ
'by mn qblth pwqdn' dhn' 'sbyh dthwb 'n' wshlyT d'symyh gyr 'n' shlyT tsbyny mn lh 'n' s'm 'n' 'l' mny lh shql 'nsh hw' l'
No one takes it away from me, but I lay it down by myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. I received this commandment from my Father.”

ܘܗܘܬ ܬܘܒ ܦܠܓܘܬܐ ܒܝܢܝ ܝܗܘܕܝܐ ܡܛܠ ܡܠܐ ܗܠܝܢ

Therefore a division arose again among the Jews because of these words.

ܘܐܡܪܝܢ ܗܘܘ ܣܓܝܐܐ ܡܢܗܘܢ ܕܕܝܘܐ ܐܝܬ ܠܗ ܘܡܫܢܐ ܫܢܐ ܡܢܐ ܫܡܥܝܢ ܐܢܬܘܢ ܠܗ
lh 'nthwn shmeyn mn' shn' wmshn' lh 'yth ddyw' mnhwn sgy'' hww w'mryn
Many of them said, “He has a demon, and is insane! Why do you listen to him?”

ܐܚܪܢܐ ܕܝܢ ܐܡܪܝܢ ܗܘܘ ܗܠܝܢ ܡܠܐ ܠܐ ܗܘܝ ܕܕܝܘܢܐ ܠܡܐ ܕܝܘܐ ܡܫܟܚ ܥܝܢܐ ܕܣܡܝܐ ܠܡܦܬܚܘ
lmpthkhw dsmy' eyn' mshkkh dyw' lm' ddywn' hwy l' ml' hlyn hww 'mryn dyn 'khrn'
Others said, “These are not the sayings of one possessed by a demon. It isn’t possible for a demon to open the eyes of the blind, is it?”

ܗܘܐ ܕܝܢ ܥܐܕܐ ܕܚܘܕܬܐ ܒܐܘܪܫܠܡ ܘܣܬܘܐ ܗܘܐ
hw' wsthw' b'wrshlm dkhwdth' e'd' dyn hw'
It was the Feast of the Dedication at Jerusalem.

ܘܡܗܠܟ ܗܘܐ ܝܫܘܥ ܒܗܝܟܠܐ ܒܐܣܛܘܐ ܕܫܠܝܡܘܢ
dshlymwn b'sTw' bhykl' yshwe hw' wmhlk
It was winter, and Jesus was walking in the temple, in Solomon’s porch.

ܘܚܕܪܘܗܝ ܝܗܘܕܝܐ ܘܐܡܪܝܢ ܠܗ ܥܕܡܐ ܠܐܡܬܝ ܢܣܒ ܐܢܬ ܢܦܫܢ ܐܢ ܐܢܬ ܗܘ ܡܫܝܚܐ ܐܡܪ ܠܢ ܓܠܝܐܝܬ

The Jews therefore came around him and said to him, “How long will you hold us in suspense? If you are the Christ, tell us plainly.”

ܥܢܐ ܝܫܘܥ ܘܐܡܪ ܠܗܘܢ ܐܡܪܬ ܠܟܘܢ ܘܠܐ ܡܗܝܡܢܝܢ ܐܢܬܘܢ ܘܥܒܕܐ ܕܐܢܐ ܥܒܕ ܐܢܐ ܒܫܡܗ ܕܐܒܝ ܗܢܘܢ ܣܗܕܝܢ ܥܠܝ
ely shdyn hnwn d'by bshmh 'n' ebd d'n' webd' 'nthwn mhymnyn wl' lkwn 'mrth lhwn w'mr yshwe en'
Jesus answered them,
“I told you, and you don’t believe. The works that I do in my Father’s name, these testify about me.

ܐܠܐ ܐܢܬܘܢ ܠܐ ܡܗܝܡܢܝܢ ܐܢܬܘܢ ܡܛܠ ܕܠܐ ܗܘܝܬܘܢ ܡܢ ܥܪܒܝ ܐܝܟܢܐ ܕܐܡܪܬ ܠܟܘܢ
lkwn d'mrth 'ykn' erby mn hwythwn dl' mTl 'nthwn mhymnyn l' 'nthwn 'l'
But you don’t believe, because you are not of my sheep, as I told you.

ܥܪܒܐ ܕܝܠܝ ܩܠܝ ܫܡܥܝܢ ܘܐܢܐ ܝܕܥ ܐܢܐ ܠܗܘܢ ܘܗܢܘܢ ܐܬܝܢ ܒܬܪܝ
bthry 'thyn whnwn lhwn 'n' yde w'n' shmeyn qly dyly erb'
My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me.

ܘܐܢܐ ܝܗܒ ܐܢܐ ܠܗܘܢ ܚܝܐ ܕܠܥܠܡ ܘܠܐ ܢܐܒܕܘܢ ܠܥܠܡ ܘܠܐ ܐܢܫ ܢܚܛܘܦ ܐܢܘܢ ܡܢ ܐܝܕܝ
'ydy mn 'nwn nkhTwp 'nsh wl' lelm n'bdwn wl' dlelm khy' lhwn 'n' yhb w'n'
I give eternal life to them. They will never perish, and no one will snatch them out of my hand.

ܐܒܝ ܓܝܪ ܕܝܗܒ ܠܝ ܡܢ ܟܠ ܪܒ ܗܘ ܘܠܐ ܐܢܫ ܡܫܟܚ ܕܡܢ ܐܝܕܗ ܕܐܒܝ ܢܚܛܘܦ
nkhTwp d'by 'ydh dmn mshkkh 'nsh wl' hw rb kl mn ly dyhb gyr 'by
My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all. No one is able to snatch them out of my Father’s hand.

ܘܫܩܠܘ ܬܘܒ ܝܗܘܕܝܐ ܟܐܦܐ ܠܡܪܓܡܗ

Therefore Jews took up stones again to stone him.

ܐܡܪ ܠܗܘܢ ܝܫܘܥ ܣܓܝܐܐ ܥܒܕܐ ܫܦܝܪܐ ܡܢ ܠܘܬ ܐܒܝ ܚܘܝܬܟܘܢ ܡܛܠ ܐܝܢܐ ܥܒܕܐ ܡܢܗܘܢ ܪܓܡܝܢ ܐܢܬܘܢ ܠܝ
ly 'nthwn rgmyn mnhwn ebd' 'yn' mTl khwythkwn 'by lwth mn shpyr' ebd' sgy'' yshwe lhwn 'mr
Jesus answered them,
“I have shown you many good works from my Father. For which of those works do you stone me?”

ܐܡܪܝܢ ܠܗ ܝܗܘܕܝܐ ܠܐ ܗܘܐ ܡܛܠ ܥܒܕܐ ܫܦܝܪܐ ܪܓܡܝܢ ܚܢܢ ܠܟ ܐܠܐ ܡܛܠ ܕܡܓܕܦ ܐܢܬ ܘܟܕ ܐܝܬܝܟ ܒܪ ܐܢܫܐ ܥܒܕ ܐܢܬ ܢܦܫܟ ܐܠܗܐ
'lh' npshk 'nth ebd 'nsh' br 'ythyk wkd 'nth dmgdp mTl 'l' lk khnn rgmyn shpyr' ebd' mTl hw' l' yhwdy' lh 'mryn
The Jews answered him, “We don’t stone you for a good work, but for blasphemy: because you, being a man, make yourself God.”

ܐܡܪ ܠܗܘܢ ܝܫܘܥ ܠܐ ܗܘܐ ܗܟܢܐ ܟܬܝܒ ܒܢܡܘܣܟܘܢ ܕܐܢܐ ܐܡܪܬ ܕܐܠܗܐ ܐܢܬܘܢ
'nthwn d'lh' 'mrth d'n' bnmwskwn kthyb hkn' hw' l' yshwe lhwn 'mr
Jesus answered them,
“Isn’t it written in your law, ‘I said, you are gods?’

ܐܢ ܠܗܢܘܢ ܐܡܪ ܐܠܗܐ ܡܛܠ ܕܠܘܬܗܘܢ ܗܘܬ ܡܠܬܐ ܕܐܠܗܐ ܘܠܐ ܡܫܟܚ ܟܬܒܐ ܕܢܫܬܪܐ
dnshthr' kthb' mshkkh wl' d'lh' mlth' hwth dlwthhwn mTl 'lh' 'mr lhnwn 'n
If he called them gods, to whom the word of God came (and the Scripture can’t be broken),

ܠܐܝܢܐ ܕܐܒܐ ܩܕܫܗ ܘܫܕܪܗ ܠܥܠܡܐ ܐܢܬܘܢ ܐܡܪܝܢ ܐܢܬܘܢ ܕܡܓܕܦ ܐܢܬ ܥܠ ܕܐܡܪܬ ܠܟܘܢ ܕܒܪܗ ܐܢܐ ܕܐܠܗܐ
d'lh' 'n' dbrh lkwn d'mrth el 'nth dmgdp 'nthwn 'mryn 'nthwn lelm' wshdrh qdshh d'b' l'yn'
do you say of him whom the Father sanctified and sent into the world, ‘You blaspheme,’ because I said, ‘I am the Son of God?’

ܐܠܐ ܥܒܕ ܐܢܐ ܥܒܕܐ ܕܐܒܝ ܠܐ ܬܗܝܡܢܘܢܢܝ

If I don’t do the works of my Father, don’t believe me.

ܐܢ ܕܝܢ ܥܒܕ ܐܢܐ ܐܦܢ ܠܝ ܠܐ ܡܗܝܡܢܝܢ ܐܢܬܘܢ ܠܗܘܢ ܠܥܒܕܐ ܗܝܡܢܘ ܕܬܕܥܘܢ ܘܬܗܝܡܢܘܢ ܕܐܒܝ ܒܝ ܘܐܢܐ ܒܐܒܝ
b'by w'n' by d'by wthhymnwn dthdewn hymnw lebd' lhwn 'nthwn mhymnyn l' ly 'pn 'n' ebd dyn 'n
But if I do them, though you don’t believe me, believe the works; that you may know and believe that the Father is in me, and I in the Father.”

ܘܒܥܘ ܗܘܘ ܬܘܒ ܕܢܐܚܕܘܢܝܗܝ ܘܢܦܩ ܠܗ ܡܢ ܒܝܬ ܐܝܕܝܗܘܢ
'ydyhwn byth mn lh wnpq dn'khdwnyhy thwb hww wbew
They sought again to seize him, and he went out of their hand.

ܘܐܙܠ ܠܗ ܠܥܒܪܐ ܕܝܘܪܕܢܢ ܠܕܘܟܬܐ ܐܝܟܐ ܕܐܝܬܘܗܝ ܗܘܐ ܝܘܚܢܢ ܡܢ ܩܕܝܡ ܟܕ ܡܥܡܕ ܗܘܐ ܘܗܘܐ ܬܡܢ
thmn whw' hw' memd kd qdym mn ywkhnn hw' d'ythwhy 'yk' ldwkth' dywrdnn lebr' lh w'zl
He went away again beyond the Jordan into the place where John was baptizing at first, and there he stayed.

ܘܐܬܘ ܐܢܫܐ ܣܓܝܐܐ ܠܘܬܗ ܘܐܡܪܝܢ ܗܘܘ ܕܝܘܚܢܢ ܐܦ ܠܐ ܚܕܐ ܐܬܐ ܥܒܕ ܟܠܡܕܡ ܕܝܢ ܕܐܡܪ ܝܘܚܢܢ ܥܠ ܓܒܪܐ ܗܢܐ ܫܪܝܪ ܗܘ
hw shryr hn' gbr' el ywkhnn d'mr dyn klmdm ebd 'th' khd' l' 'p dywkhnn hww w'mryn lwthh sgy'' 'nsh' w'thw
Many came to him. They said, “John indeed did no sign, but everything that John said about this man is true.”
