תקעו שופרא בציון יביבו בטור קודשי יזועון כל יתבי ארעא ארי מטא יומא למיתי מן קדם יי ארי קריב:
qryb ary yy qdm mn lmythy ywma mTa ary area ythby kl yzwewn qwdshy bTwr ybybw btsywn shwpra thqew
Blow the trumpet in Zion, and sound an alarm in my holy mountain! Let all the inhabitants of the land tremble, for the day of Yahweh comes, for it is close at hand:

יום חשוך וקבלא יום עננא ואמיטתא כנהור צפרא פריס על טוריא עם סגי ותקיף דכותיה לא הוה מן עלמא ובתרוהי לא יוסיף עד שני דר ודר:
wdr dr shny ed ywsyp la wbthrwhy elma mn hwh la dkwthyh wthqyp sgy em Twrya el prys tspra knhwr wamyTtha enna ywm wqbla khshwk ywm
A day of darkness and gloominess, a day of clouds and thick darkness. As the dawn spreading on the mountains, a great and strong people; there has never been the like, neither will there be any more after them, even to the years of many generations.

קדמוהי אכלא אשתא ובתרוהי משיציא שלהוביתא כגנא דעדן ארעא קדמוהי ובתרוהי מדבר צדו ואף שיזבא לית ליה לרשיעיא:
lrshyeya lyh lyth shyzba wap tsdw mdbr wbthrwhy qdmwhy area dedn kgna shlhwbytha mshytsya wbthrwhy ashtha akla qdmwhy
A fire devours before them, and behind them, a flame burns. The land is as the garden of Eden before them, and behind them, a desolate wilderness. Yes, and no one has escaped them.

כחיזו סוסותא חזויהון וכפרשיא כן רהטין:
rhTyn kn wkprshya khzwyhwn swswtha kkhyzw
Their appearance is as the appearance of horses, and they run as horsemen.

כקל רתיכיא על רישי טוריא מקפצין כקל שלהובית אשתא דמשיציא כקשא יבישא כעמא תקיפא דידע סידרי קרבא:
qrba sydry dyde thqypa kema ybysha kqsha dmshytsya ashtha shlhwbyth kql mqptsyn Twrya ryshy el rthykya kql
Like the noise of chariots on the tops of the mountains, they leap, like the noise of a flame of fire that devours the stubble, like a strong people set in battle array.

מן קדמוהי יזועון עממיא כל אפיא אתחפיאו איכרום אוכמין כקדירא:
kqdyra awkmyn aykrwm athkhpyaw apya kl emmya yzwewn qdmwhy mn
At their presence the peoples are in anguish. All faces have grown pale.

כגבריא רהטין כגברי עבדי קרבא סלקין לשורא וגבר באורחיה אזלין ולא מעכבין אורחתהון:
awrkhthhwn mekbyn wla azlyn bawrkhyh wgbr lshwra slqyn qrba ebdy kgbry rhTyn kgbrya
They run like mighty men. They climb the wall like warriors. They each march in his line, and they don’t swerve off course.

וגבר אחוהי לא דחקין גבר בכבישיה אזלין לאתר דאינון שליחין קטלין ולא מקבלין ממון:
mmwn mqblyn wla qTlyn shlykhyn daynwn lathr azlyn bkbyshyh gbr dkhqyn la akhwhy wgbr
One doesn’t jostle another. They each march in their own path. They burst through the defenses and don’t break ranks.

בקרתא מזדינין על שורא רהטין בבתיא סלקין מן חרכיא עלין כגנבין:
kgnbyn elyn khrkya mn slqyn bbthya rhTyn shwra el mzdynyn bqrtha
They rush on the city. They run on the wall. They climb up into the houses. They enter in at the windows like thieves.

קדמוהי חרובת ארעא זעו שמיא שמשא וסיהרא קבלו וכוכביא כנשו זהורהון:
zhwrhwn knshw wkwkbya qblw wsyhra shmsha shmya zew area khrwbth qdmwhy
The earth quakes before them. The heavens tremble. The sun and the moon are darkened, and the stars withdraw their shining.

ויי ארים מימריה קדם משריתיה ארי סגי לחדא משריתיה ארי תקיפין עבדי מימריה ארי רב יומא דעתיד למיתי מן קדם יי וחסין לחדא ומן יכיל לסוברותיה:
lswbrwthyh ykyl wmn lkhda wkhsyn yy qdm mn lmythy dethyd ywma rb ary mymryh ebdy thqypyn ary mshrythyh lkhda sgy ary mshrythyh qdm mymryh arym wyy
Yahweh thunders his voice before his army, for his forces are very great; for he is strong who obeys his command; for the day of Yahweh is great and very awesome, and who can endure it?

ואף כען אמר יי תובו לפולחני בכל לבכון ובצומא ובבכיתא ובמספדא:
wbmspda wbbkytha wbtswma lbkwn bkl lpwlkhny thwbw yy amr ken wap
“Yet even now,” says Yahweh, “turn to me with all your heart, and with fasting, and with weeping, and with mourning.”

ואעדו רשע לבכון ולא בביזוע לבושיכון ותובו לפולחנא דיי אלהכון ארי חננא ורחמנא הוא מרחיק רגז ומסגי למעבד טבון וקשוט ומיתיב מימריה מלאיתאה בישא:
bysha mlaythah mymryh wmythyb wqshwT Tbwn lmebd wmsgy rgz mrkhyq hwa wrkhmna khnna ary alhkwn dyy lpwlkhna wthwbw lbwshykwn bbyzwe wla lbkwn rshe waedw
Tear your heart and not your garments, and turn to Yahweh, your God; for he is gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and abundant in loving kindness, and relents from sending calamity.

מן ידע דאית ביה חובין יתוב מנהון ויתרחים עלוהי וכל מן דיתוב ישתיבקון ליה חובוהי ויקביל ברכן ונחמן וצלותיה כגבר דמקריב קורבנין ונכסין בבית מקדשא דיי אלהכון:
alhkwn dyy mqdsha bbyth wnksyn qwrbnyn dmqryb kgbr wtslwthyh wnkhmn brkn wyqbyl khwbwhy lyh yshthybqwn dythwb mn wkl elwhy wythrkhym mnhwn ythwb khwbyn byh dayth yde mn
Who knows? He may turn and relent, and leave a blessing behind him, even a meal offering and a drink offering to Yahweh, your God.

תקעו שופרא בציון גזרו תענו ערעו כנישא:
knysha erew thenw gzrw btsywn shwpra thqew
Blow the trumpet in Zion! Sanctify a fast. Call a solemn assembly.
16
כנשו עמא זמינו קהלא כנושו סביא איתו טליא וינקי חדיא יפוק חתנא מאידרון בית משכביה וכלתא מבית גנונהא:
gnwnha mbyth wkltha mshkbyh byth maydrwn khthna ypwq khdya wynqy Tlya aythw sbya knwshw qhla zmynw ema knshw
Gather the people. Sanctify the assembly. Assemble the elders. Gather the children, and those who nurse from breasts. Let the bridegroom go out of his room, and the bride out of her chamber.

בין אולמא ולמדבחא יבכון כהניא דמשמשין קדם יי ויימרון חוס יי על עמך ואל תתן אחסנתך לחיסודין למישלט בהון עממיא למה יימרון בעממיא אן דאתפריקו במימר אלההון:
alhhwn bmymr dathpryqw an bemmya yymrwn lmh emmya bhwn lmyshlT lkhyswdyn akhsnthk ththn wal emk el yy khws wyymrwn yy qdm dmshmshyn khnya ybkwn wlmdbkha awlma byn
Let the priests, the ministers of Yahweh, weep between the porch and the altar, and let them say, “Spare your people, Yahweh, and don’t give your heritage to reproach, that the nations should rule over them. Why should they say among the peoples, ‘Where is their God?’”

וחס יי על ארעיה ורחים על עמיה:
emyh el wrkhym areyh el yy wkhs
Then Yahweh was jealous for his land, and had pity on his people.
19
ואתיב יי ואמר לעמיה הא אנא מברך לכון עבורא וחמרא ומשחא ותסבעון יתיה ולא אתן יתכון עוד חיסודי כפנא ביני עממיא:
emmya byny kpna khyswdy ewd ythkwn athn wla ythyh wthsbewn wmshkha wkhmra ebwra lkwn mbrk ana ha lemyh wamr yy wathyb
Yahweh answered his people, “Behold, I will send you grain, new wine, and oil, and you will be satisfied with them; and I will no more make you a reproach among the nations.

וית עמא דאתי מצפונא ארחיק מנכון ואגליניה לארעא צדיא וחריבא רישיה לימא מדינחא וסופיה לימא מערבאה ותסק סרוחיה ויהך ריחיה ארי אסני למעבד בישין:
byshyn lmebd asny ary rykhyh wyhk srwkhyh wthsq merbah lyma wswpyh mdynkha lyma ryshyh wkhryba tsdya larea waglynyh mnkwn arkhyq mtspwna dathy ema wyth
But I will remove the northern army far away from you, and will drive it into a barren and desolate land, its front into the eastern sea, and its back into the western sea; and its stench will come up, and its bad smell will rise.” Surely he has done great things.

לא תדחלין ארעא דישראל בועי וחדי ארי אסגי יי למעבד ביך טבין לעמיה:
lemyh Tbyn byk lmebd yy asgy ary wkhdy bwey dyshral area thdkhlyn la
Land, don’t be afraid. Be glad and rejoice, for Yahweh has done great things.

לא תדחלון חיות ברא ארי אתעטרו דרות מדברא ארי אילנא אצלח אביה תיניא וגופניא טענו פריהון:
pryhwn Tenw wgwpnya thynya abyh atslkh aylna ary mdbra drwth atheTrw ary bra khywth thdkhlwn la
Don’t be afraid, you animals of the field; for the pastures of the wilderness spring up, for the tree bears its fruit. The fig tree and the vine yield their strength.

ובני ציון ביעו וחדו במימרא דיי אלהכון ארי אתיב לכון ית מלפכון בזכו ומחית מטר בכיר בעדניה ולקישא בירח ניסן:
nysn byrkh wlqysha bednyh bkyr mTr wmkhyth bzkw mlpkwn yth lkwn athyb ary alhkwn dyy bmymra wkhdw byew tsywn wbny
“Be glad then, you children of Zion, and rejoice in Yahweh, your God; for he gives you the early rain in just measure, and he causes the rain to come down for you, the early rain and the latter rain, as before.
24
ויתמלון אדריא עבורא ויטופון נעויא חמרא וביריא משרא:
mshra wbyrya khmra newya wyTwpwn ebwra adrya wythmlwn
The threshing floors will be full of wheat, and the vats will overflow with new wine and oil.
25
ואשלם לכון שניא טבתא חלף שניא דבזו יתכון פלחי כוכביא אומיא ולישניא ושלטוניא ומלכותא פורענות חילי רבא דשלחית בכון:
bkwn dshlkhyth rba khyly pwrenwth wmlkwtha wshlTwnya wlyshnya awmya kwkbya plkhy ythkwn dbzw shnya khlp Tbtha shnya lkwn washlm
I will restore to you the years that the swarming locust has eaten, the great locust, the grasshopper, and the caterpillar, my great army, which I sent among you.
26
ותכלון מיכל ותסבעון ותשבחון ית שמא דיי אלהכון דעבד עמכון פרישן ולא יבהתון עמי לעלם:
lelm emy ybhthwn wla pryshn emkwn debd alhkwn dyy shma yth wthshbkhwn wthsbewn mykl wthklwn
You will have plenty to eat and be satisfied, and will praise the name of Yahweh, your God, who has dealt wondrously with you; and my people will never again be disappointed.
27
ותדעון ארי בגו בית ישראל אשריתי שכנתי ואנא יי אלהכון ולית עוד ולא יבהתון עמי בית ישראל לעלם:
lelm yshral byth emy ybhthwn wla ewd wlyth alhkwn yy wana shknthy ashrythy yshral byth bgw ary wthdewn
You will know that I am among Israel, and that I am Yahweh, your God, and there is no one else; and my people will never again be disappointed.
