קרי כדון האית עני לך ולמן מן קדישיא תתפני:
ththpny qdyshya mn wlmn lk eny hayth kdwn qry
“Call now; is there any who will answer you? To which of the holy ones will you turn?

ארום לשטיא יקטול רוגזיה דקיריס ושבירא תמית טננא דבריתא:
dbrytha Tnna thmyth wshbyra dqyrys rwgzyh yqTwl lshTya arwm
For resentment kills the foolish man, and jealousy kills the simple.

אנא חמית שטיא דמתנציב ולטטית מדוריה בתכיף:
bthkyp mdwryh wlTTyth dmthntsyb shTya khmyth ana
I have seen the foolish taking root, but suddenly I cursed his habitation.

מתרחקין בנוי מפורקנא לעלמא דאתי וישתפפון במעלנא דגהנם ביום דינא רבא ולית דפצי:
dptsy wlyth rba dyna bywm dghnm bmelna wyshthppwn dathy lelma mpwrqna bnwy mthrkhqyn
His children are far from safety. They are crushed in the gate. Neither is there any to deliver them,

די חצדיה כפיני ייכלון ופולמוסין במני זינא ידברוניה ויבזון לסטיסין נכסיהון:
nksyhwn lsTysyn wybzwn ydbrwnyh zyna bmny wpwlmwsyn yyklwn kpyny khtsdyh dy
whose harvest the hungry eat up, and take it even out of the thorns. The snare gapes for their substance.

ארום לא נפיק מעפרא שקר ומן אדמתא לא ירבי לעות:
lewth yrby la admtha wmn shqr mepra npyq la arwm
For affliction doesn’t come out of the dust, neither does trouble spring out of the ground;

ארום בר נש למלעי באוריתא אתברי ובני מזיקי בגובהא יטוסון: ת״א ארום בר נש לליעות אתיליד וסופוהי היך נצין דנתרין מן גומריא ומתגבהין היכדין יעוף:
yewp hykdyn wmthgbhyn gwmrya mn dnthryn ntsyn hyk wswpwhy athylyd llyewth nsh br arwm tha yTwswn bgwbha mzyqy wbny athbry bawrytha lmley nsh br arwm
but man is born to trouble, as the sparks fly upward.

ברם אנא אתבע אולפן מן תקיפא ולאלהא אשוי מלתי:
mlthy ashwy wlalha thqypa mn awlpn athbe ana brm
“But as for me, I would seek God. I would commit my cause to God,

עבד רברבן ולית סכום פרישן עד דלית מנין:
mnyn dlyth ed pryshn skwm wlyth rbrbn ebd
who does great things that can’t be fathomed, marvelous things without number;
10
דיהב מטרא על אפי ארעא דישראל ומשדר מיא על אפי מחוזי עממיא:
emmya mkhwzy apy el mya wmshdr dyshral area apy el mTra dyhb
who gives rain on the earth, and sends waters on the fields;

מטול לשואה מכיכי אולצנא לרומא ואוכמי מסכינותא תקפו פורקנא:
pwrqna thqpw mskynwtha wawkmy lrwma awltsna mkyky lshwah mTwl
so that he sets up on high those who are low, those who mourn are exalted to safety.

דבטל מחשבתהון דמצראי דחכימו לאבאשא לישראל ולא עבדא אידיהון מלכת חכמתהון:
khkmthhwn mlkth aydyhwn ebda wla lyshral labasha dkhkymw dmtsray mkhshbthhwn dbTl
He frustrates the plans of the crafty, so that their hands can’t perform their enterprise.

מאחד חכימי פרעה בחכימותהון ומלכת אסטגנינוהי עוקמניא אוחית עליהון:
elyhwn awkhyth ewqmnya asTgnynwhy wmlkth bkhkymwthhwn preh khkymy makhd
He takes the wise in their own craftiness; the counsel of the cunning is carried headlong.

בימם יערעון חשוך והיך ליליא ימשמשון בטיהרא:
bTyhra ymshmshwn lylya whyk khshwk yerewn bymm
They meet with darkness in the day time, and grope at noonday as in the night.

ופרק עמיה מן קטילא דפומהון ומן יד מלך תקיף עמא חשיכא:
khshyka ema thqyp mlk yd wmn dpwmhwn qTyla mn emyh wprq
But he saves from the sword of their mouth, even the needy from the hand of the mighty.

והות למסכנא סברא ונכלתא דרשיעי טפית פומה:
pwmh Tpyth drshyey wnkltha sbra lmskna whwth
So the poor has hope, and injustice shuts her mouth.

הא טוביה דאברהם גברא חסידא דיכסנניה אלהא ואנת ישראל מרדותא דשדי לא תרחיק:
thrkhyq la dshdy mrdwtha yshral wanth alha dyksnnyh khsyda gbra dabrhm Twbyh ha
“Behold, happy is the man whom God corrects. Therefore do not despise the chastening of the Almighty.

ארום הוא מיתי כיבא ומעל סמתירא ימחי וידוי מסין:
msyn wydwy ymkhy smthyra wmel kyba mythy hwa arwm
For he wounds and binds up. He injures and his hands make whole.
19
בשית עקתין יפצנך ובשביעתא לא יקריב ביך ביש:
bysh byk yqryb la wbshbyetha yptsnk eqthyn bshyth
He will deliver you in six troubles; yes, in seven no evil will touch you.
20
בכפן דמצרים פרקך ממותא ובקרבא דעמלק מקטול סיפא:
sypa mqTwl demlq wbqrba mmwtha prqk dmtsrym bkpn
In famine he will redeem you from death; in war, from the power of the sword.
21
בנזקא דלישן דבלעם תטמר ביני ענניא ולא תדחל מן חבל מדינאי כד ייתי:
yythy kd mdynay khbl mn thdkhl wla ennya byny thTmr dblem dlyshn bnzqa
You will be hidden from the scourge of the tongue, neither will you be afraid of destruction when it comes.

לחבל סיחון ולאולצן מדברא תגחך ומן משרית עוג דמתיל לחיות ברא דארעא לא תדחל:
thdkhl la darea bra lkhywth dmthyl ewg mshryth wmn thgkhk mdbra wlawltsn sykhwn lkhbl
You will laugh at destruction and famine, neither will you be afraid of the animals of the earth.

ארום עם לוחי אבנא דאתיהיבו בפומבי בחקלא קימך וכנענאי דמתילין לחיות ברא אשלימו עמך:
emk ashlymw bra lkhywth dmthylyn wknenay qymk bkhqla bpwmby dathyhybw abna lwkhy em arwm
For you will be allied with the stones of the field. The animals of the field will be at peace with you.

ותנדע ארום שלם בית אולפנך תזמין מדור בית משכנך ולא תנזיק:
thnzyq wla mshknk byth mdwr thzmyn awlpnk byth shlm arwm wthnde
You will know that your tent is in peace. You will visit your fold, and will miss nothing.
25
ותנדע ארום סגיעין בנך ובני בנך היך עסבא דחקלא:
dkhqla esba hyk bnk wbny bnk sgyeyn arwm wthnde
You will know also that your offspring will be great, your offspring as the grass of the earth.

תעול בשלימות שניך בכוכא לקבורתא היך מסק גדישא בעדניה:
bednyh gdysha msq hyk lqbwrtha bkwka shnyk bshlymwth thewl
You will come to your grave in a full age, like a shock of grain comes in its season.
