ܘܐܦ ܥܠ ܗܕܐ ܢܬܬܙܝܥ ܠܒܗ ܘܢܙܘܥ ܡܢ ܕܘܟܬܗ

“Yes, at this my heart trembles, and is moved out of its place.

ܫܡܥܘ ܡܫܡܥ ܩܠܗ ܒܪܘܓܙܐ ܕܝܢܐ ܕܢ̇ܦܩ ܡܢ ܦܘܡܗ
shmew mshme qlh brwgz' dyn' dnpq mn pwmh
Hear, oh, hear the noise of his voice, the sound that goes out of his mouth.

ܬܚܝܬ ܟܠܗܘܢ ܫܡܝܐ ܢܫܒܚܘܢܗ ܘܢܘܗܪܗ ܥܠ ܟܢ̈ܦܝܗ̇ ܕܐܪܥܐ
thkhyth klhwn shmy' nshbkhwnh wnwhrh el knpyh d're'
He sends it out under the whole sky, and his lightning to the ends of the earth.

ܒܐܬܪܗ ܢܪܥܡ ܒܩܠܐ ܕܓܐܝܘܬܗ ܘܠܐ ܢܥܩܒ ܐܢܘܢ ܡܛܠ ܕܢܫܡܥܘܢ ܩܠܗ
b'thrh nrem bql' dg'ywthh wl' neqb 'nwn mTl dnshmewn qlh
After it a voice roars. He thunders with the voice of his majesty. He doesn’t hold back anything when his voice is heard.

ܘܢܪܥܡ ܐܠܗܐ ܒܩܠܗ ܬܕܡܪ̈ܬܐ ܥ̇ܒܕ ܘܪ̈ܘܪܒܬܐ ܘܠܐ ܡܬܝܕܥ
wnrem 'lh' bqlh thdmrth' ebd wrwrbth' wl' mthyde
God thunders marvelously with his voice. He does great things, which we can’t comprehend.

ܡܛܠ ܕܠܬܠܓܐ ܐܡܪ ܗܘܝ ܐܪܥܐ ܘܡܛܪܐ ܘܪܒܝܥܐ ܪܒܐ
mTl dlthlg' 'mr hwy 're' wmTr' wrbye' rb'
For he says to the snow, ‘Fall on the earth,’ likewise to the shower of rain, and to the showers of his mighty rain.

ܒܝܕ ܟܘܠ ܐܢܫ ܚܬܡ ܕܢܘܕܥ ܠܟܘܠ ܐܢܫ ܥܒ̇ܕܘ̈ܗܝ
byd kwl 'nsh khthm dnwde lkwl 'nsh ebdwhy
He seals up the hand of every man, that all men whom he has made may know it.

ܘܬܥܘܠ ܚܝܘܬܐ ܒܟܡܐܢܐ ܘܬܫܪܐ ܒܡܪܒܘܥܝܬܗ̇
wthewl khywth' bkm'n' wthshr' bmrbweythh
Then the animals take cover, and remain in their dens.

ܡܢ ܬܘ̈ܘܢܐ ܬܐܬܐ ܟܘܟܝܬܐ ܘܡܢ ܙܪܝܦܬܐ ܩܘܪܫܐ
mn thwwn' th'th' kwkyth' wmn zrypth' qwrsh'
Out of its room comes the storm, and cold out of the north.

ܘܡܢ ܢܫܡܬܗ ܕܐܠܗܐ ܢܬܝܗܒ ܓܠܝܕܐ ܘܣܘܓܐܐ ܕܡ̈ܝܐ ܡܚܬ
wmn nshmthh d'lh' nthyhb glyd' wswg'' dmy' mkhth
By the breath of God, ice is given, and the width of the waters is frozen.

ܘܪܟܝܟܐܝܬ ܡܬܡܬ̈ܚܢ ܥܢ̈ܢܐ ܘܦܪܣ ܥܢ̈ܢܐ ܕܢܘܗܪܗ
wrkyk'yth mthmthkhn enn' wprs enn' dnwhrh
Yes, he loads the thick cloud with moisture. He spreads abroad the cloud of his lightning.

ܘܗܘ ܡܬܟܪܟ ܘܡܬܗܦܟ ܠܡܥܒܕ ܡܚܫ̈ܒܢ ܟܠ ܕܦ̇ܩܕ ܠܗܘܢ ܥܠ ܐ̈ܦܝ ܬܒܝܠ ܐܪܥܗ
whw mthkrk wmthhpk lmebd mkhshbn kl dpqd lhwn el 'py thbyl 'reh
It is turned around by his guidance, that they may do whatever he commands them on the surface of the habitable world,

ܐܢ ܠܫ̈ܠܝܛܢܐ ܘܐܢ ܠܐܪܥܐ ܘܐܢ ܠܚܣܝܕܐ ܕܡܫܬܟܚ ܒܗ̇
'n lshlyTn' w'n l're' w'n lkhsyd' dmshthkkh bh
whether it is for correction, or for his land, or for loving kindness, that he causes it to come.

ܨܘܬ ܗܕܐ ܐܝܘܒ ܘܫܡܥ ܘܐܬܒܝܢ ܬܕܡܪ̈ܬܗ ܕܐܠܗܐ
tswth hd' 'ywb wshme w'thbyn thdmrthh d'lh'
“Listen to this, Job. Stand still, and consider the wondrous works of God.

ܗܐ ܝ̇ܕܥ ܐܢܬ ܡܕܡ ܕܣܡ ܐܠܗܐ ܥܠܝܗܘܢ ܘܓܠܐ ܢܘܗܪܐ ܕܥܢ̈ܢܘܗܝ
h' yde 'nth mdm dsm 'lh' elyhwn wgl' nwhr' dennwhy
Do you know how God controls them, and causes the lightning of his cloud to shine?

ܝ̇ܕܥ ܐܢܬ ܡܦܩܐ ܕܥܢ̈ܢܐ ܘܬܕܡܪ̈ܬܐ ܕܕܠܐ ܡܘܡ ܒܐܝܕܥܬܐ
yde 'nth mpq' denn' wthdmrth' ddl' mwm b'ydeth'
Do you know the workings of the clouds, the wondrous works of him who is perfect in knowledge?

ܠܒ̈ܘܫܝܟ ܢܚܡܘܢ ܘܬܫ̇ܢܐ ܐܪܥܐ ܡܢ ܬܝܡܢܐ
lbwshyk nkhmwn wthshn' 're' mn thymn'
You whose clothing is warm when the earth is still by reason of the south wind?

ܘܬܪܩܘܥ ܥܡܗ ܠܪܩܝܥܐ ܬܩܝܦܐ ܠܡܣܡܟܘ ܐܟܚܕܐ
wthrqwe emh lrqye' thqyp' lmsmkw 'kkhd'
Can you, with him, spread out the sky, which is strong as a cast metal mirror?

ܐܘܕܥܝܢܝ ܡܢܐ ܐܡܪ ܠܗ ܘܠܐ ܢܣܬܬܪ ܡܢ ܩܕܡ ܚܫܘܟܐ
'wdeyny mn' 'mr lh wl' nsththr mn qdm khshwk'
Teach us what we will tell him, for we can’t make our case by reason of darkness.

ܘܐܫܬܥܐ ܠܗ ܡܕܡ ܕܐܡܪ ܘܐܢ ܢܐܡܪ ܓܒܪܐ ܢܬܒܠܥ
w'shthe' lh mdm d'mr w'n n'mr gbr' nthble
Will it be told him that I would speak? Or should a man wish that he were swallowed up?

ܘܗܫܐ ܠܐ ܚܙܘ ܢܘܗܪܐ ܢܗܝܪ ܗܘ ܒܪܩܝܥܐ ܕܫܡܝܐ ܘܪܘܚܐ ܬܥܒܪ ܘܬܕܟܐ ܐܢܘܢ
whsh' l' khzw nwhr' nhyr hw brqye' dshmy' wrwkh' thebr wthdk' 'nwn
Now men don’t see the light which is bright in the skies, but the wind passes, and clears them.

ܡܢ ܓܪܒܝܐ ܕܗܒܐ ܢܐܬܐ ܘܡܢ ܐܠܗܐ ܢܘܗܪܐ ܚܣܝܢܐ
mn grby' dhb' n'th' wmn 'lh' nwhr' khsyn'
Out of the north comes golden splendor. With God is awesome majesty.

ܣܓܝ ܚܝܠܐ ܘܕܝܢܐ ܘܪܒ ܙܟܝ̈ܝܢ ܠܐ ܢܥܢܐ
sgy khyl' wdyn' wrb zkyyn l' nen'
We can’t reach the Almighty. He is exalted in power. In justice and great righteousness, he will not oppress.

ܡܛܠ ܗܢܐ ܢܕܚܠܘܢ ܐܢ̈ܫܝܢ ܘܢܙܘܥܘܢ ܡܢܗ ܟܠܗܘܢ ܚ̈ܟܝܡܝ ܠܒܐ
mTl hn' ndkhlwn 'nshyn wnzwewn mnh klhwn khkymy lb'
Therefore men revere him. He doesn’t regard any who are wise of heart.”
