ܟܬܪ ܠܝ ܩܠܝܠ ܘܐܚܘܝܟ ܡܛܠ ܕܬܘܒ ܐܝܬ ܠܐܠܗܐ ܡ̈ܠܐ

“Bear with me a little, and I will show you; for I still have something to say on God’s behalf.

ܐܫܩܘܠ ܝܕܥܬܝ ܡܢ ܪܘܚܩܐ ܘܠܥܒܘܕܝ ܐܬܠ ܙܕܩܐ
'shqwl ydethy mn rwkhq' wlebwdy 'thl zdq'
I will get my knowledge from afar, and will ascribe righteousness to my Maker.

ܒܪܡ ܫܪܝܪܐܝܬ ܗ̈ܘܝ ܕܓ̈ܠܢ ܡ̈ܠܝ ܘܕܠܐ ܡܘܡ ܗܝ ܝܕܥܬܝ ܥܡܟ
brm shryr'yth hwy dgln mly wdl' mwm hy ydethy emk
For truly my words are not false. One who is perfect in knowledge is with you.

ܗܐ ܐܠܗܐ ܥܫܝܢܐ ܠܐ ܡܣܠܐ ܠܐܝܢܐ ܕܕܟܐ ܐܝܟ ܚܠܒܐ
h' 'lh' eshyn' l' msl' l'yn' ddk' 'yk khlb'
“Behold, God is mighty, and doesn’t despise anyone. He is mighty in strength of understanding.

ܥܘ̇ܠܐ ܠܐ ܚܝܐ ܘܕܝܢܐ ܠܒܝܫ̈ܐ ܝܗܒ
ewl' l' khy' wdyn' lbysh' yhb
He doesn’t preserve the life of the wicked, but gives justice to the afflicted.

ܠܐ ܓܝܪ ܥ̇ܢܕ ܙܕܝܩܐ ܡܢ ܩܕܡ ܥܝ̈ܢܘܗܝ ܡܘܬܒ ܡ̈ܠܟܐ ܥܠ ܟܘܪܣܝܐ ܘܡܬܬܪܝܡܝܢ ܠܥܠܡܝܢ
l' gyr end zdyq' mn qdm eynwhy mwthb mlk' el kwrsy' wmththrymyn lelmyn
He doesn’t withdraw his eyes from the righteous, but with kings on the throne, he sets them forever, and they are exalted.

ܘܐܢ ܐܣܝܪ̈ܝܢ ܒܫ̈ܫܠܬܐ ܢܚܬܝܢ ܒܚܒܠܐ ܠܡܣܟܢܘܬܐ
w'n 'syryn bshshlth' nkhthyn bkhbl' lmsknwth'
If they are bound in fetters, and are taken in the cords of afflictions,

ܘܢܚܘܐ ܐܢܘܢ ܥܒ̇ܕܝ̈ܗܘܢ ܘܣ̈ܟܠܘܬܗܘܢ ܥܠ ܕܐܬܓܒܪܘ
wnkhw' 'nwn ebdyhwn wsklwthhwn el d'thgbrw
then he shows them their work, and their transgressions, that they have behaved themselves proudly.

ܘܢܓܠܐ ܐܕܢܗܘܢ ܠܡܪܕܘܬܐ ܘܢܐܡܪ ܕܢܬܘܒܘܢ ܡܢ ܥܘܠܐ
wngl' 'dnhwn lmrdwth' wn'mr dnthwbwn mn ewl'
He also opens their ears to instruction, and commands that they return from iniquity.

ܘܢܫܡܥܘܢ ܘܢܥܒܕܘܢ ܘܢܓܡܪܘܢ ܝܘܡ̈ܝܗܘܢ ܒ̈ܛܒܬܐ ܘܫܢܝ̈ܗܘܢ ܒܒܘܣܡܐ
wnshmewn wnebdwn wngmrwn ywmyhwn bTbth' wshnyhwn bbwsm'
If they listen and serve him, they will spend their days in prosperity, and their years in pleasures.

ܘܐܢ ܠܐ ܢܫܡܥܘܢ ܒܐܒܕܢܐ ܢܐܙܠܘܢ ܘܢܣܘܦܘܢ ܕܠܐ ܝܕܥܬܐ
w'n l' nshmewn b'bdn' n'zlwn wnswpwn dl' ydeth'
But if they don’t listen, they will perish by the sword; they will die without knowledge.

ܘܚ̈ܠܦܝ ܠܒܐ ܢܣܘܦܘܢ ܘܠܐ ܢܓܥܘܢ ܒܪܘܓܙܐ ܢܓܥܘܢ ܟܕ ܢܐܣܘܪ ܐܢܘܢ
wkhlpy lb' nswpwn wl' ngewn brwgz' ngewn kd n'swr 'nwn
“But those who are godless in heart lay up anger. They don’t cry for help when he binds them.

ܘܬܡܘܬ ܢܦܫܗܘܢ ܒܥܠܝܡܘܬܐ ܘܚܝ̈ܝܗܘܢ ܒܟܦܢܐ
wthmwth npshhwn belymwth' wkhyyhwn bkpn'
They die in youth. Their life perishes among the unclean.

ܢܫܬܘܙܒ ܡܟܝܟܐ ܒܡܟܝܟܘܬܗ ܘܢܓܠܐ ܐܘܪܚܗܘܢ ܒܐܘܠܨܢܐ
nshthwzb mkyk' bmkykwthh wngl' 'wrkhhwn b'wltsn'
He delivers the afflicted by their affliction, and opens their ear in oppression.

ܘܐܦ ܢܫܘܙܒܟ ܡܢ ܦܘܡܐ ܕܡܥܝܩܢܐ ܘܪܘܚܬܐ ܚܠܦ ܥܩܬܐ ܘܢܬܩܢ ܦܬܘܪܐ ܟܕ ܡܠܐ ܕܘܗܢܐ
w'p nshwzbk mn pwm' dmeyqn' wrwkhth' khlp eqth' wnthqn pthwr' kd ml' dwhn'
Yes, he would have allured you out of distress, into a wide place, where there is no restriction. That which is set on your table would be full of fatness.

ܘܢܕܘܢ ܠܪ̈ܫܝܥܐ ܡܠܝܐܝܬ ܠܕܝܢܐ ܘܒܕܝܢܐ ܢܬܬܚܕܘܢ
wndwn lrshye' mly'yth ldyn' wbdyn' nththkhdwn
“But you are full of the judgment of the wicked. Judgment and justice take hold of you.

ܒܚܡܬܐ ܕܩܪܒܐ ܠܐ ܢܓܪܓܟ ܘܠܐ ܢܣܢܩܟ ܥܠ ܣܓܝܐܘܬ ܦܘܪܩܢܐ
bkhmth' dqrb' l' ngrgk wl' nsnqk el sgy'wth pwrqn'
Don’t let riches entice you to wrath, neither let the great size of a bribe turn you aside.

ܢܬܩܦ ܥܠܝܟ ܕܢܦܪܩܟ ܕܠܐ ܬܥܘܩ ܠܟ ܡܢ ܟܠ ܬܩܝ̈ܦܝ ܚܝܠܐ
nthqp elyk dnprqk dl' thewq lk mn kl thqypy khyl'
Would your wealth sustain you in distress, or all the might of your strength?

ܘܡܢ ܕܘܚܩܐ ܕܒܠܠܝܐ ܘܢܬܠ ܥܡ̈ܡܐ ܚ̈ܠܦܝܟ ܘܐܡ̈ܘܬܐ ܚܠܦ ܢܦܫܟ
wmn dwkhq' dblly' wnthl emm' khlpyk w'mwth' khlp npshk
Don’t desire the night, when people are cut off in their place.

ܐܙܕܗܪ ܕܠܐ ܬܬܦܢܐ ܥܠ ܥܘܠܐ ܡܛܠ ܗܢܘ ܓܝܪ ܐܬܒܚܪܬ ܒܡܣܟܢܘܬܐ
'zdhr dl' ththpn' el ewl' mTl hnw gyr 'thbkhrth bmsknwth'
Take heed, don’t regard iniquity; for you have chosen this rather than affliction.

ܐܠܗܐ ܡܥܫܢ ܒܚܝܠܐ ܡܢܘ ܐܝܬ ܐܟܘܬܗ ܕܡ̇ܠܦ
'lh' meshn bkhyl' mnw 'yth 'kwthh dmlp
Behold, God is exalted in his power. Who is a teacher like him?

ܡܢܘ ܦ̇ܩܕ ܥܠ ܐܘܪ̈ܚܬܐ ܘܡܢܘ ܐܡܪ ܠܗ ܕܥܒܕܬ ܥܘܠܐ
mnw pqd el 'wrkhth' wmnw 'mr lh debdth ewl'
Who has prescribed his way for him? Or who can say, ‘You have committed unrighteousness’?

ܐܬܕܟܪ ܕܣܓ̈ܝܐܝܢ ܐܢܘܢ ܥܒ̇ܕܘ̈ܗܝ ܘܫܒܚܘܗܝ ܐܢܫܐ ܟܠܗܘܢ
'thdkr dsgy'yn 'nwn ebdwhy wshbkhwhy 'nsh' klhwn
“Remember that you magnify his work, about which men have sung.

ܘܒ̈ܢܝ ܐܢܫܐ ܚܙܐܘܗܝ ܘܐܕܝܩܘ ܡܢ ܪܘܚܩܐ
wbny 'nsh' khz'why w'dyqw mn rwkhq'
All men have looked on it. Man sees it afar off.

ܗܐ ܐܠܗܐ ܬܩܝܦ ܗܘ ܘܠܐ ܡܬܝܕܥ ܘܠܡܡܢܐ ܫܢ̈ܘܗܝ ܠܝܬ ܣܘܦ
h' 'lh' thqyp hw wl' mthyde wlmmn' shnwhy lyth swp
Behold, God is great, and we don’t know him. The number of his years is unsearchable.

ܐܢ ܢܡܢܐ ܥܡ̈ܘܕܝ ܫܡܝܐ ܘܢܨܘܪ ܢܘ̈ܛܦܝ ܡܛܪܐ ܒܠܚܘܕܘܗܝ
'n nmn' emwdy shmy' wntswr nwTpy mTr' blkhwdwhy
For he draws up the drops of water, which distill in rain from his vapor,

ܕܡܚܬܝܢ ܫܡܝܐ ܒܙܒܢܐ ܘܪ̈ܣܢ ܥܢ̈ܢܐ ܥܠ ܒܢ̈ܝ ܐܢܫܐ ܘܢܪܘܙܘܢ ܪܘܪܒܐܝܬ
dmkhthyn shmy' bzbn' wrsn enn' el bny 'nsh' wnrwzwn rwrb'yth
which the skies pour down and which drop on man abundantly.

ܘܡܢܘ ܢܬܒܝܢ ܘܦܪܣ̇ ܥܢ̈ܢܐ ܡܢ ܣܘܓܐܐ ܕܡܛܠܠܗ
wmnw nthbyn wprs enn' mn swg'' dmTllh
Indeed, can anyone understand the spreading of the clouds and the thunderings of his pavilion?

ܦ̣ܪܣ ܠܥܠ ܡܢܗܘܢ ܢܘܗܪܗ ܘܐܫܬܗ ܕܝܡܐ ܟܣܝ

Behold, he spreads his light around him. He covers the bottom of the sea.

ܡܛܠ ܕܒܗܘܢ ܢܕܘܢ ܥܡ̈ܡܐ ܘܢܬܠ ܡܐܟܘܠܬܐ ܠܣ̈ܓܝܐܐ
mTl dbhwn ndwn emm' wnthl m'kwlth' lsgy''
For by these he judges the people. He gives food in abundance.

ܘܥܠ ܐ̈ܝܕܝܐ ܢܟܣܐ ܢܘܗܪܐ ܘܢܦܘܩ ܥܠܝܗܘܢ ܕܢܦܓܥܘܢ ܒܗ
wel 'ydy' nks' nwhr' wnpwq elyhwn dnpgewn bh
He covers his hands with the lightning, and commands it to strike the mark.

ܢܚܘܐ ܠܪ̈ܚܡܘܗܝ ܩܢܝܢܗ ܘܐܦ ܠܥܘ̇ܠܐ̈
nkhw' lrkhmwhy qnynh w'p lewl'
Its noise tells about him, and the livestock also, concerning the storm that comes up.
