אמתן לי צבחר ואחוינך ארום תוב לאלהא מליא:
mlya lalha thwb arwm wakhwynk tsbkhr ly amthn
“Bear with me a little, and I will show you; for I still have something to say on God’s behalf.

אטול מנדעי מן רחיק ולעבד יתי אתן צדקתא:
tsdqtha athn ythy wlebd rkhyq mn mndey aTwl
I will get my knowledge from afar, and will ascribe righteousness to my Maker.

ארום בקושטא לא שקרא מלי שלים מנדעתא עמך:
emk mndetha shlym mly shqra la bqwshTa arwm
For truly my words are not false. One who is perfect in knowledge is with you.

הא אלהא רבא לא ירחק צדיקא מטול דהוא רב חילא וחכים לבא:
lba wkhkym khyla rb dhwa mTwl tsdyqa yrkhq la rba alha ha
“Behold, God is mighty, and doesn’t despise anyone. He is mighty in strength of understanding.

לא יחיי חיבא ודין עניי יהב:
yhb enyy wdyn khyba ykhyy la
He doesn’t preserve the life of the wicked, but gives justice to the afflicted.

לא ימנע מצדיקיא עיניה ועם מלכיא תקניא למיתב על כורסי מלכותא ויותיבנון לעלמא ומתגבהין:
wmthgbhyn lelma wywthybnwn mlkwtha kwrsy el lmythb thqnya mlkya wem eynyh mtsdyqya ymne la
He doesn’t withdraw his eyes from the righteous, but with kings on the throne, he sets them forever, and they are exalted.

ואין אסירין רשיעיא בשולשון מתאחדן באשלי סגופא:
sgwpa bashly mthakhdn bshwlshwn rshyeya asyryn wayn
If they are bound in fetters, and are taken in the cords of afflictions,

ויחוי להון עובדיהון ומרדיהון ארום אתגברו:
athgbrw arwm wmrdyhwn ewbdyhwn lhwn wykhwy
then he shows them their work, and their transgressions, that they have behaved themselves proudly.
10
וגלי משמעהון למרדותא ואמר דיתובון מן עובדיהון בישיא דדמין ללמא:
llma ddmyn byshya ewbdyhwn mn dythwbwn wamr lmrdwtha mshmehwn wgly
He also opens their ears to instruction, and commands that they return from iniquity.

אין ישמעון ופלחין ליה ישלמון יומיהון בטב ושניהון במזמוטין:
bmzmwTyn wshnyhwn bTb ywmyhwn yshlmwn lyh wplkhyn yshmewn ayn
If they listen and serve him, they will spend their days in prosperity, and their years in pleasures.

ואין לא שמעין בזיני קרבא יעברון ויתנגדון מדלית מנדעא:
mndea mdlyth wythngdwn yebrwn qrba bzyny shmeyn la wayn
But if they don’t listen, they will perish by the sword; they will die without knowledge.

וזהוהי לבא ישוון רוגזא לא יבעון רחמיה ארום כפתנון:
kpthnwn arwm rkhmyh ybewn la rwgza yshwwn lba wzhwhy
“But those who are godless in heart lay up anger. They don’t cry for help when he binds them.

תמות בטליות נפשהון וחיתהון היך מרי זנו:
znw mry hyk wkhythhwn npshhwn bTlywth thmwth
They die in youth. Their life perishes among the unclean.
15
יפצי עניא בסגופיה ומפרסם בדוחקא משמעהון:
mshmehwn bdwkhqa wmprsm bsgwpyh enya yptsy
He delivers the afflicted by their affliction, and opens their ear in oppression.
16
ואף פצענך מפום מעיקא אפתי דלא יתעק באתרה ובניח פתורך מלא דיהנא:
dyhna mla pthwrk wbnykh bathrh ytheq dla apthy meyqa mpwm ptsenk wap
Yes, he would have allured you out of distress, into a wide place, where there is no restriction. That which is set on your table would be full of fatness.

ודין דחיבא אשלמתא דין והלכתא סעדין:
sedyn whlktha dyn ashlmtha dkhyba wdyn
“But you are full of the judgment of the wicked. Judgment and justice take hold of you.

ארום ירגז דלמא אטעינך במסת מזלא וסגי פורקנא דעתרא לא יצלנך:
ytslnk la dethra pwrqna wsgy mzla bmsth aTeynk dlma yrgz arwm
Don’t let riches entice you to wrath, neither let the great size of a bribe turn you aside.

האפשר דמסתדר בעותך וכל דמתאלמין משכחין חילא: ת״א האפשר דמסדר צלותך לא בעקתא וכל מה דמתקפין כח מדבקין חילא:
khyla mdbqyn kkh dmthqpyn mh wkl beqtha la tslwthk dmsdr hapshr tha khyla mshkkhyn dmthalmyn wkl bewthk dmsthdr hapshr
Would your wealth sustain you in distress, or all the might of your strength?

לא תדחוק בליליא לאסקא עממיא באתריהון: ת״א לא תגיר אתת חברך בלליא לסלקא עממיא חלופיהון:
khlwpyhwn emmya lslqa bllya khbrk athth thgyr la tha bathryhwn emmya lasqa blylya thdkhwq la
Don’t desire the night, when people are cut off in their place.

אסתמר לא תתפני לשקרא ארום על דא בחרתא מסגופא:
msgwpa bkhrtha da el arwm lshqra ththpny la asthmr
Take heed, don’t regard iniquity; for you have chosen this rather than affliction.
22
הא בלחודוי אלהא תקיף בחיליה מן דכמיה מלף תריצותא:
thrytswtha mlp dkmyh mn bkhylyh thqyp alha blkhwdwy ha
Behold, God is exalted in his power. Who is a teacher like him?

מן יסער עלוי אורחיה ומן יימר עבדתא עיליתא:
eylytha ebdtha yymr wmn awrkhyh elwy yser mn
Who has prescribed his way for him? Or who can say, ‘You have committed unrighteousness’?
24
אדכר ארום תפיש עובדיה די שבחו גוברין צדיקין:
tsdyqyn gwbryn shbkhw dy ewbdyh thpysh arwm adkr
“Remember that you magnify his work, about which men have sung.
25
כל בני נשא חמון ביה אנש אסתכל מרחיק:
mrkhyq asthkl ansh byh khmwn nsha bny kl
All men have looked on it. Man sees it afar off.
26
הא אלהא סגיא ולא נדע סכום שנוי ולית סוף:
swp wlyth shnwy skwm nde wla sgya alha ha
Behold, God is great, and we don’t know him. The number of his years is unsearchable.
27
ארום ימנע טיופי מיא יזלפון מטרא לענניה:
lennyh mTra yzlpwn mya Tywpy ymne arwm
For he draws up the drops of water, which distill in rain from his vapor,

דזלחין שחקיא דאתי מטול צלותא דבר נש רב:
rb nsh dbr tslwtha mTwl dathy shkhqya dzlkhyn
which the skies pour down and which drop on man abundantly.

לחוד אין אתבין פרישותא דעיבא רכפת ענניה טלליה:
Tllyh ennyh rkpth deyba pryshwtha athbyn ayn lkhwd
Indeed, can anyone understand the spreading of the clouds and the thunderings of his pavilion?

הא פרס עלוי מטרא ועקרי ימא חפא:
khpa yma weqry mTra elwy prs ha
Behold, he spreads his light around him. He covers the bottom of the sea.
31
ארום בהון דאן עממיא יהב מיכלא לסוגעא:
lswgea mykla yhb emmya dan bhwn arwm
For by these he judges the people. He gives food in abundance.
32
מטול חטוף ידא מנע מטרא ופקיד עלוי למחת מטול מצלי:
mtsly mTwl lmkhth elwy wpqyd mTra mne yda khTwp mTwl
He covers his hands with the lightning, and commands it to strike the mark.
33
דיחוי לישן תליתי בחבריה קנאתא ורוגזא עלוי יסק: ת״א יחוון באוריתא חד עם חבריה מטננין ברוגזא ומסלקין ליה לעילא: ת״א יחוי עלוהי זכותא דחבריה קנאתא ורוגזא מעלוהי יסלק:
yslq melwhy wrwgza qnatha dkhbryh zkwtha elwhy ykhwy tha leyla lyh wmslqyn brwgza mTnnyn khbryh em khd bawrytha ykhwwn tha ysq elwy wrwgza qnatha bkhbryh thlythy lyshn dykhwy
Its noise tells about him, and the livestock also, concerning the storm that comes up.
