ܒܗܕܐ ܐܬܚܫܒܬ ܒܕܝܢܐ ܕܐܡܪܬ ܐܙܕܕܩܬ ܡܢ ܐܠܗܐ
bhd' 'thkhshbth bdyn' d'mrth 'zddqth mn 'lh'
“Do you think this to be your right, or do you say, ‘My righteousness is more than God’s,’

ܐܢ ܐܡ̇ܪ ܐܢܬ ܡܢܐ ܡܘܬܪ ܐܢܬ ܥܠ ܢܦܫܟ ܘܡܢܐ ܝܘܬܪܢܐ ܕܐܚܝܒܟ
'n 'mr 'nth mn' mwthr 'nth el npshk wmn' ywthrn' d'khybk
that you ask, ‘What advantage will it be to you? What profit will I have, more than if I had sinned?’

ܐܢܐ ܐܬܝܒܟ ܡ̈ܠܐ ܘܐܦ ܠܪ̈ܚܡܝܟ ܥܡܟ
'n' 'thybk ml' w'p lrkhmyk emk
I will answer you, and your companions with you.

ܚܘܪ ܒܫܡܝܐ ܘܐܬܒܩܐ ܒܥ̈ܢܢܐ ܕܪ̈ܡܢ ܡܢܟ
khwr bshmy' w'thbq' benn' drmn mnk
Look to the skies, and see. See the skies, which are higher than you.

ܐܢ ܚ̇ܛܐ ܐܢܬ ܡܢܐ ܥ̇ܒܕ ܐܢܬ ܠܗ ܘܐܢ ܣ̇ܓܐ ܥܘܠܟ ܡܢܐ ܬܥܒܕ ܠܗ
'n khT' 'nth mn' ebd 'nth lh w'n sg' ewlk mn' thebd lh
If you have sinned, what effect do you have against him? If your transgressions are multiplied, what do you do to him?

ܘܐܢ ܗܘ̇ܐ ܐܢܬ ܙܕܝܩ ܡܢܐ ܡܘܬܪ ܐܢܬ ܠܗ ܐܘ ܡܢܐ ܢ̇ܣܒ ܡܢܟ
w'n hw' 'nth zdyq mn' mwthr 'nth lh 'w mn' nsb mnk
If you are righteous, what do you give him? Or what does he receive from your hand?

ܠܢܦܫܟ ܗܘ ܪܘܫܥܟ ܘܠܢܦܫܟ ܗܝ ܙܕܝܩܘܬܟ
lnpshk hw rwshek wlnpshk hy zdyqwthk
Your wickedness may hurt a man as you are, and your righteousness may profit a son of man.

ܡܢ ܣܘܓܐܐ ܕܛܠܘܡܝܐ ܡܝܠܠܝܢ ܘܓܥܝܢ ܡܢ ܥܘܠܐ ܣ̈ܓܝܐܐ
mn swg'' dTlwmy' myllyn wgeyn mn ewl' sgy''
“By reason of the multitude of oppressions they cry out. They cry for help by reason of the arm of the mighty.

ܘܠܐ ܐܡܪܘ ܐܝܟܘ ܐܠܗܐ ܕܥܒܕܢ ܕܝܗܒ ܡܚܫܒܬܐ ܒܠܠܝܐ
wl' 'mrw 'ykw 'lh' debdn dyhb mkhshbth' blly'
But no one says, ‘Where is God my Maker, who gives songs in the night,

ܡܢ ܩܕܡ ܚܝܘܬܐ ܕܐܪܥܐ ܘܡܢ ܦܪܚܬܐ ܕܫܡܝܐ ܚܟܡܢ
mn qdm khywth' d're' wmn prkhth' dshmy' khkmn
who teaches us more than the animals of the earth, and makes us wiser than the birds of the sky?’

ܬܡܢ ܓܥܝܢ ܘܠܐ ܥܢ̇ܐ ܠܗܘܢ ܡܛܠ ܓܐܝܘܬܐ ܕܒܝ̈ܫܐ
thmn geyn wl' en' lhwn mTl g'ywth' dbysh'
There they cry, but no one answers, because of the pride of evil men.

ܣܪܝܩܐܝܬ ܠܐ ܫܡ̇ܥ ܐܠܗܐ ܐܦ ܠܐ ܐܠܗܐ ܡܫܒܚ ܠܗ
sryq'yth l' shme 'lh' 'p l' 'lh' mshbkh lh
Surely God will not hear an empty cry, neither will the Almighty regard it.

ܘܐܦܢ ܐܡܪܬ ܠܐ ܬܫܒܚܝܘܗܝ ܕܘܢ ܩܕܡܘܗܝ ܘܐܬܟܫܦ ܠܗ
w'pn 'mrth l' thshbkhywhy dwn qdmwhy w'thkshp lh
How much less when you say you don’t see him. The cause is before him, and you wait for him!

ܕܗܫܐ ܠܐ ܦܩ̇ܕ ܪܘܓܙܗ ܘܠܐ ܡܒܐܫ ܠܢܦܫܐ
dhsh' l' pqd rwgzh wl' mb'sh lnpsh'
But now, because he has not visited in his anger, neither does he greatly regard arrogance,

ܘܐܝܘܒ ܣܪܝܩܐܝܬ ܦܬܚ ܦܘܡܗ ܘܕܠܐ ܒܝܕܥܬܐ ܡܣܓܐ ܡ̈ܠܐ
w'ywb sryq'yth pthkh pwmh wdl' bydeth' msg' ml'
therefore Job opens his mouth with empty talk, and he multiplies words without knowledge.”
