והוה יום דינא רבא יום שבוק סרחניא ואתו כתי מלאכיא למקום בדינא קדם יי ואתא לחוד סטנא במציעיהון למקום בדינא קדם יי:
yy qdm bdyna lmqwm bmtsyeyhwn sTna lkhwd watha yy qdm bdyna lmqwm mlakya kthy wathw srkhnya shbwq ywm rba dyna ywm whwh
Again, on the day when God’s sons came to present themselves before Yahweh, Satan came also among them to present himself before Yahweh.

ואמר יי לסטנא מנן את אתי ואתיב סטנא קדם יי ואמר מן למשוט בארעא למבדק בעובדי בני נשא ומן מהלכא בה:
bh mhlka wmn nsha bny bewbdy lmbdq barea lmshwT mn wamr yy qdm sTna wathyb athy ath mnn lsTna yy wamr
Yahweh said to Satan, “Where have you come from?” Satan answered Yahweh, and said, “From going back and forth in the earth, and from walking up and down in it.”

ואמר יי לסטנא אפשר דשויתא לבך בעבדי איוב ארום לית דכמוהי בארעא דעממי גבר שלים ותריץ דחיל מן קדם יי ועדי מן ביש ועוד כדון הוא מתקף בשלימותיה וגריתא מימרי ביה לסלעמותיה מגן:
mgn lslemwthyh byh mymry wgrytha bshlymwthyh mthqp hwa kdwn wewd bysh mn wedy yy qdm mn dkhyl wthryts shlym gbr demmy barea dkmwhy lyth arwm aywb bebdy lbk dshwytha apshr lsTna yy wamr
Yahweh said to Satan, “Have you considered my servant Job? For there is no one like him in the earth, a blameless and an upright man, one who fears God, and turns away from evil. He still maintains his integrity, although you incited me against him, to ruin him without cause.”

ואתיב סטנא קדם יי ואמר אברא אמטול אברא וכל די לבר נש ימסור אמטול נפשיה:
npshyh amTwl ymswr nsh lbr dy wkl abra amTwl abra wamr yy qdm sTna wathyb
Satan answered Yahweh, and said, “Skin for skin. Yes, all that a man has he will give for his life.

ברם אושיט כדון מחת ידך וקריב לגרמיה ולבסריה אין לא באנפי מימרך ירגזינך:
yrgzynk mymrk banpy la ayn wlbsryh lgrmyh wqryb ydk mkhth kdwn awshyT brm
But stretch out your hand now, and touch his bone and his flesh, and he will renounce you to your face.”

ואמר יי לסטנא הא מסיר בידך לחוד ית נפשיה נטר:
nTr npshyh yth lkhwd bydk msyr ha lsTna yy wamr
Yahweh said to Satan, “Behold, he is in your hand. Only spare his life.”

ונפק סטנא בהרמנא מן קדם יי ומחא ית איוב בשיחנא בישא מפרסת רגליה ועד מוקדיה:
mwqdyh wed rglyh mprsth bysha bshykhna aywb yth wmkha yy qdm mn bhrmna sTna wnpq
So Satan went out from the presence of Yahweh, and struck Job with painful sores from the sole of his foot to his head.

ונסיב ליה פחד לאתקרצפא ביה והוא יתיב באמצע קטמא:
qTma bamtse ythyb whwa byh lathqrtspa pkhd lyh wnsyb
He took for himself a potsherd to scrape himself with, and he sat among the ashes.

ואמרת ליה דינה אתתיה עד כדון את מתקף בשלימותך בריך מימרא דיי ומית:
wmyth dyy mymra bryk bshlymwthk mthqp ath kdwn ed aththyh dynh lyh wamrth
Then his wife said to him, “Do you still maintain your integrity? Renounce God, and die.”

ואמר לה היכמא די ממללן חדא מן נשיא דעבדין קלנא בבית אבהתהון הכדין את ממללא לחוד ית טבא נקבל מן קדם יי וית בישא לא נקבל בכל דא לא חב איוב בספותוהי ברם ברעיניה הרהר במלין:
bmlyn hrhr breynyh brm bspwthwhy aywb khb la da bkl nqbl la bysha wyth yy qdm mn nqbl Tba yth lkhwd mmlla ath hkdyn abhthhwn bbyth qlna debdyn nshya mn khda mmlln dy hykma lh wamr
But he said to her, “You speak as one of the foolish women would speak. What? Shall we receive good at the hand of God, and shall we not receive evil?” In all this Job didn’t sin with his lips.

ושמעו תלתא חברי איוב ית כל בישתא הדא דאתת עלוהי ואתו גבר מאתריה אליפז די מן תימן ובלדד די מן שוח וצופר די מן נעמה ואתחברו כחדא למיתי למגד ליה ולנחמותיה:
wlnkhmwthyh lyh lmgd lmythy kkhda wathkhbrw nemh mn dy wtswpr shwkh mn dy wbldd thymn mn dy alypz mathryh gbr wathw elwhy dathth hda byshtha kl yth aywb khbry thltha wshmew
Now when Job’s three friends heard of all this evil that had come on him, they each came from his own place: Eliphaz the Temanite, Bildad the Shuhite, and Zophar the Naamathite; and they made an appointment together to come to sympathize with him and to comfort him.

וזקפו ית עיניהון מן רחיק ולא אשתמודעוהי וארימו קלהון ובכו ובזעו גבר מעיליה ודרקון עפרא על רישיהון לצית שמיא:
shmya ltsyth ryshyhwn el epra wdrqwn meylyh gbr wbzew wbkw qlhwn warymw ashthmwdewhy wla rkhyq mn eynyhwn yth wzqpw
When they lifted up their eyes from a distance, and didn’t recognize him, they raised their voices, and wept; and they each tore his robe, and sprinkled dust on their heads toward the sky.

ויתיבו עמיה לארעא שבעא יומין ושבעא לילון ולית די ממלל עמיה פתגם ארום דחמון ארום סגא כיבא לחדא:
lkhda kyba sga arwm dkhmwn arwm pthgm emyh mmll dy wlyth lylwn wshbea ywmyn shbea larea emyh wythybw
So they sat down with him on the ground seven days and seven nights, and no one spoke a word to him, for they saw that his grief was very great.
