ܗܐ ܗܠܝܢ ܟܠܗܝܢ ܚܙܬ ܥܝܢܝ ܘܫܡܥܬ ܐܕܢܝ ܘܐܬܒܝܢܬ
w'thbynth 'dny wshmeth eyny khzth klhyn hlyn h'
“Behold, my eye has seen all this. My ear has heard and understood it.

ܐܝܟ ܝܕܥܬܟܘܢ ܝ̇ܕܥ ܐܢܐ ܐܦ ܐܢܐ ܘܠܐ ܗܘܝܬ ܒܨܝܪ ܡܢܟܘܢ
mnkwn btsyr hwyth wl' 'n' 'p 'n' yde ydethkwn 'yk
What you know, I know also. I am not inferior to you.

ܒܪܡ ܕܝܢ ܐܢܐ ܠܘܬ ܚܣܝܢܐ ܡܡܠܠ ܐܢܐ ܘܡܟܣܢܘܬܝ ܠܘܬ ܐܠܗܐ ܐܚܘܐ
'khw' 'lh' lwth wmksnwthy 'n' mmll khsyn' lwth 'n' dyn brm
“Surely I would speak to the Almighty. I desire to reason with God.

ܒܪܡ ܕܝܢ ܐܢܬܘܢ ܡ̈ܡܠܠܝ ܫܘܩܪܐ ܐܢܬܘܢ ܘܡܐ̈ܣܝܝ ܒܠܐ ܡܕܡ ܐܢܬܘܢ
'nthwn mdm bl' wm'syy 'nthwn shwqr' mmlly 'nthwn dyn brm
But you are forgers of lies. You are all physicians of no value.

ܡ̇ܢ ܕܝܢ ܥܒܕ ܕܡܫܬܩ ܫܬܝܩܝܢ ܗܘܝܬܘܢ ܘܗܘܬ ܠܟܘܢ ܕܝܢ ܗܕܐ ܠܚܟܡܐ
lkhkm' hd' dyn lkwn whwth hwythwn shthyqyn dmshthq ebd dyn mn
Oh that you would be completely silent! Then you would be wise.

ܫܡܥܘ ܗܟܝܠ ܡܟܣܢܘܬܝ ܘܨܘܬܘ ܕܝܢܐ ܕܣ̈ܦܘܬܝ
dspwthy dyn' wtswthw mksnwthy hkyl shmew
Hear now my reasoning. Listen to the pleadings of my lips.

ܥܠ ܐܠܗܐ ܡܡܠܠܝܢ ܐܢܬܘܢ ܥܘܠܐ ܘܥܠܘܗܝ ܡܡܠܠܝܢ ܐܢܬܘܢ ܢܟܠܐ
nkl' 'nthwn mmllyn welwhy ewl' 'nthwn mmllyn 'lh' el
Will you speak unrighteously for God, and talk deceitfully for him?

ܒܐ̈ܦܘܗܝ ܢܣܒܝܢ ܐܢܬܘܢ ܐܘ ܥܡ ܐܠܗܐ ܕܝܢܝܢ ܐܢܬܘܢ
'nthwn dynyn 'lh' em 'w 'nthwn nsbyn b'pwhy
Will you show partiality to him? Will you contend for God?

ܛܒ ܠܟܘܢ ܕܒܨܐ ܠܟܘܢ ܐܘ ܐܝܟ ܕܡܬܕܝܢ ܒܟܠ ܐܢܫ ܡܬܕܝܢܝܢ ܐܢܬܘܢ ܒܗ
bh 'nthwn mthdynyn 'nsh bkl dmthdyn 'yk 'w lkwn dbts' lkwn Tb
Is it good that he should search you out? Or as one deceives a man, will you deceive him?

ܡܟܣܘ ܢܟܣܟܘܢ ܐܘ ܒܐ̈ܦܘܗܝ ܢܣܒܝܢ ܐܢܬܘܢ
'nthwn nsbyn b'pwhy 'w nkskwn mksw
He will surely reprove you if you secretly show partiality.

ܕܚܠܬܗ ܬܒܥܬܟܘܢ ܘܙܘܥܬܗ ܬܦܠ ܥܠܝܟܘܢ
elykwn thpl wzwethh thbethkwn dkhlthh
Won’t his majesty make you afraid and his dread fall on you?

ܐܬܕܟܪܘ ܕܡܢ ܥܦܪܐ ܗܘ ܫܘܠܛܢܟܘܢ ܘܥܠ ܓܢܒ ܛܝܢܐ ܗܘ ܡܕܝܪܟܘܢ
mdyrkwn hw Tyn' gnb wel shwlTnkwn hw epr' dmn 'thdkrw
Your memorable sayings are proverbs of ashes. Your defenses are defenses of clay.

ܫܬܘܩܘ ܡܢܝ ܘܐܡܠܠ ܐܦ ܐܢܐ ܘܐܡܪ ܟܠ ܡܕܡ ܕܥܒܪ ܥܠܝ

“Be silent! Leave me alone, that I may speak. Let come on me what will.

ܥܠ ܡܢܐ ܫܩܝܠ ܐܢܐ ܒܣܪܝ ܒܫ̈ܢܝ ܘܢܦܫܝ ܣܝܡܐ ܒܐ̈ܝܕܝ
b'ydy sym' wnpshy bshny bsry 'n' shqyl mn' el
Why should I take my flesh in my teeth, and put my life in my hand?

ܐܢ ܢܩܛܠܢܝ ܠܗ ܗܘ ܡܣܟܐ ܐܢܐ ܒܠܚܘܕ ܡܛܠ ܕܐܘܪ̈ܚܬܝ ܩܕܡܘܗܝ ܐܢܝ̈ܢ
'nyn qdmwhy d'wrkhthy mTl blkhwd 'n' msk' hw lh nqTlny 'n
Behold, he will kill me. I have no hope. Nevertheless, I will maintain my ways before him.

ܘܐܦ ܗܘ ܢܗܘܐ ܠܝ ܦܪܘܩܐ ܡܛܠ ܕܠܐ ܥܐܠ ܩܕܡܘܗܝ ܚܠܦܐ
khlp' qdmwhy e'l dl' mTl prwq' ly nhw' hw w'p
This also will be my salvation, that a godless man will not come before him.

ܫܡܥܘ ܡܫܡܥ ܡ̈ܠܝ ܘܬܚܘܝܬܝ ܐܡܪ ܩܕܡܝܟܘܢ
qdmykwn 'mr wthkhwythy mly mshme shmew
Listen carefully to my speech. Let my declaration be in your ears.

ܗܐ ܐܦ ܐܢܐ ܡ̇ܝܬܐ ܐܢܐ ܕܝܢܝ ܘܝܕܥ̇ ܐܢܐ ܕܐܢܐ ܗܘ ܙܟܝ
zky hw d'n' 'n' wyde dyny 'n' myth' 'n' 'p h'
See now, I have set my cause in order. I know that I am righteous.

ܡ̇ܢ ܗܘ ܕܐ̇ܢ ܥܡܝ ܕܗܫܐ ܐܫܬܘܩ ܘܐܬܬܢܝܚ

Who is he who will contend with me? For then I would hold my peace and give up the spirit.

ܒܪܡ ܬܪ̈ܬܝܢ ܠܐ ܬܥܒܪ ܡܢܝ ܘܗܝܕܝܢ ܡܢ ܩܕܡܝܟ ܠܐ ܐܬܛܥܐ

“Only don’t do two things to me, then I will not hide myself from your face:

ܐܝܕܟ ܠܐ ܬܦܪܩ ܡܢܝ ܘܕܚܠܬܟ ܠܐ ܬܙܝܥܢܝ
thzyeny l' wdkhlthk mny thprq l' 'ydk
withdraw your hand far from me, and don’t let your terror make me afraid.

ܘܩܪܝܢܝ ܘܐܢܐ ܐܥܢܐ ܐܘ ܐܡܠܠ ܘܐܬܝܒܝܢܝ ܦܬܓܡܐ
pthgm' w'thybyny 'mll 'w 'en' w'n' wqryny
Then call, and I will answer, or let me speak, and you answer me.

ܟܡܐ ܠܝ ܚ̈ܘܒܐ ܘܚ̈ܛܗܐ ܚ̈ܘܒܝ ܘܚ̈ܛܗܝ ܐܘܕܥܝܢܝ
'wdeyny wkhThy khwby wkhTh' khwb' ly km'
How many are my iniquities and sins? Make me know my disobedience and my sin.

ܠܡܢܐ ܡܗܦܟ ܐܢܬ ܐ̈ܦܝܟ ܡܢܝ ܘܚܫܒܬܢܝ ܠܟ ܐܝܟ ܒܥܠܕܒܒܐ

Why do you hide your face, and consider me your enemy?

ܠܛܪܦܐ ܝܒܝܫܐ ܕܢ̇ܬܪ ܕܐ̇ܫ ܐܢܬ ܘܠܓܠܐ ܝܒܝܫܐ ܪܕ̇ܦ ܐܢܬ
'nth rdp ybysh' wlgl' 'nth d'sh dnthr ybysh' lTrp'
Will you harass a driven leaf? Will you pursue the dry stubble?

ܕܟܬܒܬ ܥܠܝ ܡܪܕܘܬܐ ܘܡܕܟܪ ܐܢܬ ܥܠܝ ܚ̈ܘܒܐ ܕܛܠܝܘܬܝ
dTlywthy khwb' ely 'nth wmdkr mrdwth' ely dkthbth
For you write bitter things against me, and make me inherit the iniquities of my youth.

ܘܣܡܬ ܪ̈ܓܠܝ ܒܣܕܐ ܘܢܛܪܬ ܒܟܠܗܝܢ ܐܘܪ̈ܚܬܝ ܘܥܠ ܬܘܩܦܐ ܕܪ̈ܓܠܝ ܬܚܙܐ
thkhz' drgly thwqp' wel 'wrkhthy bklhyn wnTrth bsd' rgly wsmth
You also put my feet in the stocks, and mark all my paths. You set a bound to the soles of my feet,
