הא כולא חמת עיני שמעת אודני ואתבינת לה:
lh wathbynth awdny shmeth eyny khmth kwla ha
“Behold, my eye has seen all this. My ear has heard and understood it.

היך מנדעכון ידעית אוף אנא לית פריש אנא מנכון:
mnkwn ana prysh lyth ana awp ydeyth mndekwn hyk
What you know, I know also. I am not inferior to you.

ברם אנא לות שדי אמלל ומכסנא עם אלוה אצבי:
atsby alwh em wmksna amll shdy lwth ana brm
“Surely I would speak to the Almighty. I desire to reason with God.

וברם אתון מחברי שקר כמאסי אליל ומודרקא דפלטיה סכינא הכדין כולכון:
kwlkwn hkdyn skyna dplTyh wmwdrqa alyl kmasy shqr mkhbry athwn wbrm
But you are forgers of lies. You are all physicians of no value.

לוי דמשתק תשתקון ותהי לכון לחוכמתא:
lkhwkmtha lkwn wthhy thshthqwn dmshthq lwy
Oh that you would be completely silent! Then you would be wise.

שמעו כדון מכסנותי ומצות ספותי אציתו:
atsythw spwthy wmtswth mksnwthy kdwn shmew
Hear now my reasoning. Listen to the pleadings of my lips.

הלאלהא אתון ממללין שקר ולותיה תמללון נכלתא:
nkltha thmllwn wlwthyh shqr mmllyn athwn hlalha
Will you speak unrighteously for God, and talk deceitfully for him?

האפוי תסבון אין לאלהא תנצון:
thntswn lalha ayn thsbwn hapwy
Will you show partiality to him? Will you contend for God?

התקין ארום יפשפש יתבון אין היך דמתלעבא בבר נש תתלעבון ביה:
byh ththlebwn nsh bbr dmthleba hyk ayn ythbwn ypshpsh arwm hthqyn
Is it good that he should search you out? Or as one deceives a man, will you deceive him?

מכסנא יכסן יתכון אין בטומרא אפוי תסבון:
thsbwn apwy bTwmra ayn ythkwn yksn mksna
He will surely reprove you if you secretly show partiality.

הלא באזדקפותיה על כורסי דינא רתיתיה תבעת יתכון ורתיתיה יפול עליכון:
elykwn ypwl wrthythyh ythkwn thbeth rthythyh dyna kwrsy el bazdqpwthyh hla
Won’t his majesty make you afraid and his dread fall on you?

דכרנכון מתיל לקטמא לגב טנא גביכון:
gbykwn Tna lgb lqTma mthyl dkrnkwn
Your memorable sayings are proverbs of ashes. Your defenses are defenses of clay.

שתקו מני ואמלל אנא ויעבר עלי מדעם:
mdem ely wyebr ana wamll mny shthqw
“Be silent! Leave me alone, that I may speak. Let come on me what will.

מטול מה אטול בסרי בככי ונפשי אשוי כד על גב ידוי:
ydwy gb el kd ashwy wnpshy bkky bsry aTwl mh mTwl
Why should I take my flesh in my teeth, and put my life in my hand?

הא אין יקטלנני קדמוי אצלי ברם אורחתי קדמוי אכסן:
aksn qdmwy awrkhthy brm atsly qdmwy yqTlnny ayn ha
Behold, he will kill me. I have no hope. Nevertheless, I will maintain my ways before him.

לחוד הוא לי לפורקנא ארום לא קדמוי דילטור יעול:
yewl dylTwr qdmwy la arwm lpwrqna ly hwa lkhwd
This also will be my salvation, that a godless man will not come before him.

שמעו וקבילו מלתי ותנויי באודניכון:
bawdnykwn wthnwyy mlthy wqbylw shmew
Listen carefully to my speech. Let my declaration be in your ears.

הא כדון סדרית דינא ידעית ארום אנא אזכי:
azky ana arwm ydeyth dyna sdryth kdwn ha
See now, I have set my cause in order. I know that I am righteous.

מן הוא דינצי בהדי ארום השתא אשתוקו ואתנגיד:
wathngyd ashthwqw hshtha arwm bhdy dyntsy hwa mn
Who is he who will contend with me? For then I would hold my peace and give up the spirit.

לחוד תרתין לא תעבד עמי הידין מן קדמך לא אטמר:
aTmr la qdmk mn hydyn emy thebd la thrthyn lkhwd
“Only don’t do two things to me, then I will not hide myself from your face:

ידך מעלוי ארחק ודחלתך לא תבעית יתי:
ythy thbeyth la wdkhlthk arkhq melwy ydk
withdraw your hand far from me, and don’t let your terror make me afraid.
22
ותקרי ואנא אתיב או אמלל ותתיבנני:
wththybnny amll aw athyb wana wthqry
Then call, and I will answer, or let me speak, and you answer me.
23
כמה לי עוין וחובין מרודי וסורחני אודע יתי:
ythy awde wswrkhny mrwdy wkhwbyn ewyn ly kmh
How many are my iniquities and sins? Make me know my disobedience and my sin.
24
למה שכנתך תסלק ותחשבנני לבעל דבבא לך:
lk dbba lbel wthkhshbnny thslq shknthk lmh
Why do you hide your face, and consider me your enemy?

הטרפא דשקיף תתבר וית גלא יבש תרדוף:
thrdwp ybsh gla wyth ththbr dshqyp hTrpa
Will you harass a driven leaf? Will you pursue the dry stubble?

ארום תכתוב עלי מרירתא ותרתנני עוית טליותי:
Tlywthy ewyth wthrthnny mryrtha ely thkthwb arwm
For you write bitter things against me, and make me inherit the iniquities of my youth.

ותשוי כד בשיע רגלי ותנטור כולהון אסרטי על סמיוני רגלי תרשום:
thrshwm rgly smywny el asrTy kwlhwn wthnTwr rgly bshye kd wthshwy
You also put my feet in the stocks, and mark all my paths. You set a bound to the soles of my feet,
