ܒܣܘܓܐܐ ܕܡ̈ܠܐ ܠܐ ܥ̇ܢܐ ܐܦ ܠܐ ܓܒܪܐ ܡܠܠܐ ܒܦ̈ܬܓܡܘܗܝ ܡܙܕܕܩ
mzddq bpthgmwhy mll' gbr' l' 'p en' l' dml' bswg''
“Shouldn’t the multitude of words be answered? Should a man full of talk be justified?

ܗܐ ܥܠ ܡ̈ܠܝܟ ܡ̈ܝܬܐ ܗܘ ܢܫܬܩܘܢ ܐܢܬ ܡܡܠܠ ܘܠܝܬ ܕܟ̇ܠܐ ܠܟ ܘܐܢ ܡܡܝܩ ܐܢܬ ܠܝܬ ܕܡ̇ܟܣ ܠܟ
lk dmks lyth 'nth mmyq w'n lk dkl' wlyth mmll 'nth nshthqwn hw myth' mlyk el h'
Should your boastings make men hold their peace? When you mock, will no man make you ashamed?

ܘܐܡܪ ܐܢܬ ܕܟܐܢܐܝܬ ܐܬܕܒܪܬ ܘܕܟܐ ܗܘܝܬ ܒܥܝܢ̈ܝ ܢܦܫܟ

For you say, ‘My doctrine is pure. I am clean in your eyes.’

ܒܪܡ ܡ̇ܢ ܕܝܢ ܥܒܕ ܕܝ̇ܗܒ ܗܘܐ ܐܠܗܐ ܦܬܓܡܐ ܘܡܪܝܡ ܗܘܐ ܣ̈ܦܘܬܗ ܥܡܟ

But oh that God would speak, and open his lips against you,

ܘܡܚܘܐ ܗܘܐ ܠܟ ܟܣ̈ܝܬܗ̇ ܕܚܟܡܬܐ ܡܛܠ ܕܐܝܬ ܠܗ̇ ܩ̈ܦܠܐ ܠܚܟܡܬܐ ܘܝ̇ܕܥ ܗܘܝܬ ܕܫ̇ܒܩ ܗܘܐ ܠܟ ܐܠܗܐ ܚ̈ܛܗܝܟ
khThyk 'lh' lk hw' dshbq hwyth wyde lkhkmth' qpl' lh d'yth mTl dkhkmth' ksythh lk hw' wmkhw'
that he would show you the secrets of wisdom! For true wisdom has two sides. Know therefore that God exacts of you less than your iniquity deserves.

ܒܘܕܩܗ ܕܐܠܗܐ ܡܫܟܚ ܐܢܬ ܠܡܕܥ ܐܘ ܥܠ ܣܘܦܗ ܕܚܣܝܢܐ ܡܫܟܚ ܐܢܬ ܠܡܩܡ
lmqm 'nth mshkkh dkhsyn' swph el 'w lmde 'nth mshkkh d'lh' bwdqh
“Can you fathom the mystery of God? Or can you probe the limits of the Almighty?

ܪܘܡܐ ܕܫܡܝܐ ܝ̇ܕܥ ܐܢܬ ܐܘ ܥܘܡܩܐ ܕܫܝܘܠ ܡܢ ܐܝܡܟܐ ܝ̇ܕܥ ܐܢܬ
'nth yde 'ymk' mn dshywl ewmq' 'w 'nth yde dshmy' rwm'
They are high as heaven. What can you do? They are deeper than Sheol. What can you know?

ܐܪܝܟܐ ܗܝ ܡܢ ܐܪܥܐ ܡܫܘܚܬܗ̇ ܘܦܬܝܐ ܗܝ ܡܢ ܝܡܐ

Its measure is longer than the earth, and broader than the sea.

ܐܢ ܢܥܒܪ ܢܐܚܘܕ ܘܢܟܢܫ ܡܢܘ ܡܗܦܟ ܠܗ
lh mhpk mnw wnknsh n'khwd nebr 'n
If he passes by, or confines, or convenes a court, then who can oppose him?

ܡܛܘܠ ܕܗܘܝܘ ܓܝܪ ܝ̇ܕܥ ܐܡܬܝ ܗܘܐ ܙܒܢܐ ܘܚ̇ܙܐ ܥܘܠܐ ܘܗܘ ܡܬܒܝܢ
mthbyn whw ewl' wkhz' zbn' hw' 'mthy yde gyr dhwyw mTwl
For he knows false men. He sees iniquity also, even though he doesn’t consider it.

ܘܓܒܪܐ ܕܕܟܐ ܡܬܠܒܒ ܘܕܓܢܒܪ ܥ̇ܕܪ ܠܐܢܫ
l'nsh edr wdgnbr mthlbb ddk' wgbr'
An empty-headed man becomes wise when a man is born as a wild donkey’s colt.

ܐܠܘ ܐܢܬ ܐܬܩܢܬ ܠܒܟ ܘܦܫܛܬ ܐ̈ܝܕܝܟ ܠܘܬܗ
lwthh 'ydyk wpshTth lbk 'thqnth 'nth 'lw
“If you set your heart aright, stretch out your hands toward him.

ܐܢ ܐܝܬ ܗܘܐ ܥܘܠܐ ܒܐܝ̈ܕܝܟ ܡܪܚܩ ܗܘܐ ܠܗ ܘܠܐ ܐܫܪܝܬ ܒܡܫܟܢܟ ܥܘܠܐ
ewl' bmshknk 'shryth wl' lh hw' mrkhq b'ydyk ewl' hw' 'yth 'n
If iniquity is in your hand, put it far away. Don’t let unrighteousness dwell in your tents.

ܘܗܝܕܝܢ ܬܪܝܡ ܐ̈ܝܕܝܟ ܘܡܢ ܥܩܐ ܠܐ ܬܕܚܠ
thdkhl l' eq' wmn 'ydyk thrym whydyn
Surely then you will lift up your face without spot. Yes, you will be steadfast, and will not fear,

ܘܗܝܕܝܢ ܥܡܠܟ ܬܬܢܫܐ ܘܐܝܟ ܡ̈ܝܐ ܥܒܘܪ̈ܐ ܬܬܕܒܪ
ththdbr ebwr' my' w'yk ththnsh' emlk whydyn
for you will forget your misery. You will remember it like waters that have passed away.

ܘܡܢ ܛܗܪܐ ܢܩܘܡ ܚܦܪܐ ܘܥܪܦܠܐ ܐܝܟ ܨܦܪܐ ܬܗܘܐ
thhw' tspr' 'yk werpl' khpr' nqwm Thr' wmn
Life will be clearer than the noonday. Though there is darkness, it will be as the morning.

ܘܬܬܟܠ ܕܐܝܬ ܣܒܪܐ ܘܬܕܡܟ ܘܬܬܢܝܚ
wththnykh wthdmk sbr' d'yth wththkl
You will be secure, because there is hope. Yes, you will search, and will take your rest in safety.

ܘܠܝܬ ܕܡܥܝܪ ܠܟ ܢܒܥܘܢ ܐ̈ܦܝܟ ܣ̈ܓܝܐܐ
sgy'' 'pyk nbewn lk dmeyr wlyth
Also you will lie down, and no one will make you afraid. Yes, many will court your favor.
