מי יתנינני במדברא בית מבתת עדי אורחן ואשבוק ית כנשתא דעמי ואהך מלותהון ארי כולהון זנאין סיעת שקרין:
shqryn syeth znayn kwlhwn ary mlwthhwn wahk demy knshtha yth washbwq awrkhn edy mbthth byth bmdbra ythnynny my
Oh that my head were waters, and my eyes a spring of tears, that I might weep day and night for the slain of the daughter of my people!

ואליפו ית לישנהון פתגמי שקר דמן אינון כקשתא נכילא ולא להימנותא תקיפו בארעא ארי מבישתא לבישתא נפקו ומידע דחלתי לא אליפו אמר יי:
yy amr alypw la dkhlthy wmyde npqw lbyshtha mbyshtha ary barea thqypw lhymnwtha wla nkyla kqshtha aynwn dmn shqr pthgmy lyshnhwn yth walypw
Oh that I had in the wilderness a lodging place of wayfaring men, that I might leave my people and go from them! For they are all adulterers, an assembly of treacherous men.

גבר מחבריה אסתמרו ועל כל אחא לא תתרחצון ארי כל אחא מכמן כמן וכל רחים בנכילו מהלך:
mhlk bnkylw rkhym wkl kmn mkmn akha kl ary ththrkhtswn la akha kl wel asthmrw mkhbryh gbr
“They bend their tongue, as their bow, for falsehood. They have grown strong in the land, but not for truth; for they proceed from evil to evil, and they don’t know me,” says Yahweh.

וגבר בחבריה משקרין וקושטא לא ממללין אליפו לישנהון פתגמי שקר איטפשו טעו:
Tew ayTpshw shqr pthgmy lyshnhwn alypw mmllyn la wqwshTa mshqryn bkhbryh wgbr
“Everyone beware of his neighbor, and don’t trust in any brother; for every brother will utterly supplant, and every neighbor will go around like a slanderer.

יתבין בבית כנשתהון ומשתען על עויתהון בנכילו מסרבין למידע דחלתי אמר יי:
yy amr dkhlthy lmyde msrbyn bnkylw ewythhwn el wmshthen knshthhwn bbyth ythbyn
Friends deceive each other, and will not speak the truth. They have taught their tongue to speak lies. They weary themselves committing iniquity.

בכן כדנן אמר יי צבאות הא אנא מיתי עליהון עקא וצריף להון ובחר להון ארי איכדין אעביד מן קדם חובי כנשתא דעמי:
demy knshtha khwby qdm mn aebyd aykdyn ary lhwn wbkhr lhwn wtsryp eqa elyhwn mythy ana ha tsbawth yy amr kdnn bkn
Your habitation is in the middle of deceit. Through deceit, they refuse to know me,” says Yahweh.

כגיר די מחרף לישנהון נכלין מחשב בפומהון שלמא גבר עם חבריה ממללין ובמעוהי משוי כמנתיה:
kmnthyh mshwy wbmewhy mmllyn khbryh em gbr shlma bpwmhwn mkhshb nklyn lyshnhwn mkhrp dy kgyr
Therefore Yahweh of Armies says, “Behold, I will melt them and test them; for how should I deal with the daughter of my people?

העל אילין לא אסער לאיתאה עליהון בישתא אמר יי אם מן עמא דכדין עובדוהי לא אתפרע מנהון כרעותי:
krewthy mnhwn athpre la ewbdwhy dkdyn ema mn am yy amr byshtha elyhwn laythah aser la aylyn hel
Their tongue is a deadly arrow. It speaks deceit. One speaks peaceably to his neighbor with his mouth, but in his heart, he waits to ambush him.

על טוריא אנא מרים קלי ובכי ומצוח ועל דירות מדברא אליא ארי צדיאו מבלי אנש דעדי ולא אשתמע קל בעירא בארעהון מעופא דשמיא ועד בעירא אטלטלו גלו:
glw aTlTlw beyra wed dshmya mewpa barehwn beyra ql ashthme wla dedy ansh mbly tsdyaw ary alya mdbra dyrwth wel wmtswkh wbky qly mrym ana Twrya el
Shouldn’t I punish them for these things?” says Yahweh. “Shouldn’t my soul be avenged on a nation such as this?

ואתן ית ירושלם ליגרין מדור ירודין וית קרויא דבית יהודה אתן לצדו מבלי יתיב:
ythyb mbly ltsdw athn yhwdh dbyth qrwya wyth yrwdyn mdwr lygryn yrwshlm yth wathn
I will weep and wail for the mountains, and lament for the pastures of the wilderness, because they are burned up, so that no one passes through; Men can’t hear the voice of the livestock. Both the birds of the sky and the animals have fled. They are gone.

מן גברא דחכים ויסבר ית דא ודאתמלל מן קדם יי עמיה ויחוינה על מן חרובת ארעא צדיאת כמדברא מבלי יתיב:
ythyb mbly kmdbra tsdyath area khrwbth mn el wykhwynh emyh yy qdm mn wdathmll da yth wysbr dkhkym gbra mn
“I will make Jerusalem heaps, a dwelling place of jackals. I will make the cities of Judah a desolation, without inhabitant.”

ואמר יי על די שבקו ית אוריתי דיהבית קדמיהון ולא קבילו למימרי ולא הליכו בה:
bh hlykw wla lmymry qbylw wla qdmyhwn dyhbyth awrythy yth shbqw dy el yy wamr
Who is wise enough to understand this? Who is he to whom the mouth of Yahweh has spoken, that he may declare it? Why has the land perished and burned up like a wilderness, so that no one passes through?

ואזלו בתר הרהור לבהון ובתר בעליא דאליפינון אבהתהון:
abhthhwn dalypynwn belya wbthr lbhwn hrhwr bthr wazlw
Yahweh says, “Because they have forsaken my law which I set before them, and have not obeyed my voice or walked in my ways,

בכן כדנן אמר יי צבאות אלהא דישראל הא אנא מיתי עקא על עמא הדין מרר כגידין ואשקינון כס דלוט ברישי חיוין:
khywyn bryshy dlwT ks washqynwn kgydyn mrr hdyn ema el eqa mythy ana ha dyshral alha tsbawth yy amr kdnn bkn
but have walked after the stubbornness of their own heart and after the Baals, which their fathers taught them.”

ואבדרינון ביני עממיא דלא ידעו אינון ואבהתהון ואגרי בתריהון דקטלין בחרבא עד דאשיצי יתהון:
ythhwn dashytsy ed bkhrba dqTlyn bthryhwn wagry wabhthhwn aynwn ydew dla emmya byny wabdrynwn
Therefore Yahweh of Armies, the God of Israel, says, “Behold, I will feed them, even this people, with wormwood and give them poisoned water to drink.

כדנן אמר יי צבאות אסתכלו וקרו לאליתא וייתין ולחכימתא שלחו וייתין:
wyythyn shlkhw wlkhkymtha wyythyn lalytha wqrw asthklw tsbawth yy amr kdnn
I will scatter them also among the nations, whom neither they nor their fathers have known. I will send the sword after them, until I have consumed them.”

ויוחין ויטלן עלנא אליא וישגרן עיננא דמעין וגלגלי עיננא יגרון מיא:
mya ygrwn eynna wglgly dmeyn eynna wyshgrn alya elna wyTln wywkhyn
Yahweh of Armies says, “Consider, and call for the mourning women, that they may come. Send for the skillful women, that they may come.

ארי קל אליא אשתמע מציון אכדין אתבזיזנא בהיתנא לחדא ארי חרובת ארעא ארי צדיאה ברניתהא:
brnythha tsdyah ary area khrwbth ary lkhda bhythna athbzyzna akdyn mtsywn ashthme alya ql ary
Let them make haste and take up a wailing for us, that our eyes may run down with tears and our eyelids gush out with waters.

ארי שמעא נשיא פתגמא דיי ותצית אודניכון למלי נביוהי ואליפנא לבנתיכון אליא ואתתא לחברתה ענויא:
enwya lkhbrthh waththa alya lbnthykwn walypna nbywhy lmly awdnykwn wthtsyth dyy pthgma nshya shmea ary
For a voice of wailing is heard out of Zion, ‘How we are ruined! We are greatly confounded because we have forsaken the land, because they have cast down our dwellings.’”
20
ארי סליק מותא בחרכנא על בברניתנא לשיצאה ינקין משוקא עולימין מרחובין:
mrkhwbyn ewlymyn mshwqa ynqyn lshytsah bbrnythna el bkhrkna mwtha slyq ary
Yet hear Yahweh’s word, you women. Let your ear receive the word of his mouth. Teach your daughters wailing. Everyone teach her neighbor a lamentation.

אתנבי כדנן אמר יי ותתרמי נבלתא דאנשא כזיבל מבדר על אפי חקלא וכעמירא מבתר חצדא ולית דמכנש:
dmknsh wlyth khtsda mbthr wkemyra khqla apy el mbdr kzybl dansha nbltha wththrmy yy amr kdnn athnby
For death has come up into our windows. It has entered into our palaces to cut off the children from outside, and the young men from the streets.

כדנן אמר יי לא ישתבח שלמה בר דוד חכימא בחוכמתיה ולא ישתבח שמשון בר מנוח גברא בגבורתיה ולא ישתבח אחאב בר עמרי עתירא בעותריה:
bewthryh ethyra emry br akhab yshthbkh wla bgbwrthyh gbra mnwkh br shmshwn yshthbkh wla bkhwkmthyh khkyma dwd br shlmh yshthbkh la yy amr kdnn
Speak, “Yahweh says, “‘The dead bodies of men will fall as dung on the open field, and as the handful after the harvester. No one will gather them.’”

אלהין בדא ישתבח דמשתבח דחכים ואליף למידע דחלתי ארי אנא יי עבידנא חסדא ודין דקשוט וזכו בארעא ארי באלין רעוה קדמי אמר יי:
yy amr qdmy rewh balyn ary barea wzkw dqshwT wdyn khsda ebydna yy ana ary dkhlthy lmyde walyp dkhkym dmshthbkh yshthbkh bda alhyn
Yahweh says, “Don’t let the wise man glory in his wisdom. Don’t let the mighty man glory in his might. Don’t let the rich man glory in his riches.

הא יומיא אתן אמר יי ואסער על כל עממיא פלחי כוכביא ועל בית ישראל דדמן עובדיהון לפלחי כוכביא:
kwkbya lplkhy ewbdyhwn ddmn yshral byth wel kwkbya plkhy emmya kl el waser yy amr athn ywmya ha
But let him who glories glory in this, that he has understanding, and knows me, that I am Yahweh who exercises loving kindness, justice, and righteousness in the earth, for I delight in these things,” says Yahweh.

על מצראי ועל יהודה ועל אדומאי ועל בני עמון ועל מואבאי ועל כל מקפי פתא דשרן בשכונין במדברא ארי כל עממיא ערלין בבשרהון וכל בית ישראל ערלין בלבהון:
blbhwn erlyn yshral byth wkl bbshrhwn erlyn emmya kl ary bmdbra bshkwnyn dshrn ptha mqpy kl wel mwabay wel emwn bny wel adwmay wel yhwdh wel mtsray el
“Behold, the days come,” says Yahweh, “that I will punish all those who are circumcised only in their flesh:
