ܡ̇ܢ ܕܝܢ ܫܒܩܢܝ ܒܡܕܒܪܐ ܒܝܬ ܒܘܬܐ ܕܥܒܪ̈ܝ ܐܘܪܚܐ ܘܫܒܩܬ ܠܥܡܝ ܘܐܙܠܬ ܠܝ ܡܢ ܠܘܬܗܘܢ ܡܛܠ ܕܟܠܗܘܢ ܓܝܪܝܢ ܘܟܢܘܫܬܐ ܐܢܘܢ ܕܕ̈ܓܠܐ
ddgl' 'nwn wknwshth' gyryn dklhwn mTl lwthhwn mn ly w'zlth lemy wshbqth 'wrkh' debry bwth' byth bmdbr' shbqny dyn mn
Oh that my head were waters, and my eyes a spring of tears, that I might weep day and night for the slain of the daughter of my people!

ܘܫܕܘ ܠܫܢܗܘܢ ܐܝܟ ܕܒܩܫܬܗܘܢ ܒܫܘܩܪܐ ܘܠܐ ܒܗܝܡܢܘܬܐ ܥܫܢܘ ܒܐܪܥܐ ܡܛܠ ܕܡܢ ܒܝܫܬܐ ܠܒܝܫܬܐ ܢܦܩܘ ܘܠܝ ܠܐ ܝܕܥܘ ܐܡ̇ܪ ܡܪܝܐ
mry' 'mr ydew l' wly npqw lbyshth' byshth' dmn mTl b're' eshnw bhymnwth' wl' bshwqr' dbqshthhwn 'yk lshnhwn wshdw
Oh that I had in the wilderness a lodging place of wayfaring men, that I might leave my people and go from them! For they are all adulterers, an assembly of treacherous men.

ܓܒܪ ܡܢ ܚܒܪܗ ܐܙܕܗܪܘ ܘܥܠ ܟܠ ܐܚܝ ܠܐ ܬܬܟܠܘܢ ܡܛܠ ܕܟܠ ܐܚܝ ܡܢܟܠ ܢܟܠ ܘܟܠ ܪܚܡܐ ܒܢܟܠܐ ܡܗ̇ܠܟ

“They bend their tongue, as their bow, for falsehood. They have grown strong in the land, but not for truth; for they proceed from evil to evil, and they don’t know me,” says Yahweh.

ܘܓܒܪ ܒܚܒܪܗ ܡ̇ܕܓܠܝܢ ܘܩܘܫܬܐ ܠܐ ܡܡ̇ܠܠܝܢ ܐܠܦܘ ܠܫܢܗܘܢ ܠܡܡܠܠܘ ܫܘܩܪܐ ܘܐܬܛܪܦܘ ܘܠܐܝܘ

“Everyone beware of his neighbor, and don’t trust in any brother; for every brother will utterly supplant, and every neighbor will go around like a slanderer.

ܡܘܬܒܟ ܒܓܘ ܢܟܠܐ ܒܢܟܠܗܘܢ ܠܐ ܨܒܘ ܠܡܕܥܢܝ ܐܡܪ ܡܪܝܐ

Friends deceive each other, and will not speak the truth. They have taught their tongue to speak lies. They weary themselves committing iniquity.

ܡܛܠ ܗܢܐ ܗܟܢܐ ܐܡܪ ܡܪܝܐ ܚܝܠܬܢܐ ܗܐ ܨܪܦ ܐܢܐ ܠܗܘܢ ܘܒܚܪ ܐܢܐ ܠܗܘܢ ܡܛܠ ܕܐܝܟܢܐ ܐܥܒܕ ܡܢ ܩܕܡ ܒܪܬ ܥܡܝ

Your habitation is in the middle of deceit. Through deceit, they refuse to know me,” says Yahweh.

ܐܝܟ ܓܐܪܐ ܫܢܝܢܐ ܠܫܢܗܘܢ ܘܢܟܠܐ ܡܡܠܠ ܒܦܘܡܗ ܫܠܡܐ ܓܒܪ ܥܡ ܚܒܪܗ ܡܡܠܠ ܘܒܓܘܗ ܟܡܝܢ ܟܡܐܢܐ

Therefore Yahweh of Armies says, “Behold, I will melt them and test them; for how should I deal with the daughter of my people?

ܥܠ ܗܠܝܢ ܠܐ ܐܦܩܘܕ ܐܡܪ ܡܪܝܐ ܘܒܥܡܐ ܕܗܟܢܐ ܠܐ ܬܬܢܩܡ ܢܦܫܝ

Their tongue is a deadly arrow. It speaks deceit. One speaks peaceably to his neighbor with his mouth, but in his heart, he waits to ambush him.

ܥܠ ܛܘܪ̈ܐ ܫܩܘܠܘ ܒܟܬܐ ܘܐܘܠܝܬܐ ܘܥܠ ܕܝܪ̈ܐ ܕܡܕܒܪܐ ܐܘܠܝܬܐ ܕܨ̈ܕܝ ܡܢ ܒܠܝ ܐܢܫ ܕܥܒܪ ܘܠܐ ܫܡܥ ܩܠܐ ܕܩܢܝܢܐ ܡܢ ܦܪܚܬܐ ܕܫܡܝܐ ܘܥܕܡܐ ܠܒܥܝܪܐ ܐܬܒܕܪܘ ܘܐܙܠܘ

Shouldn’t I punish them for these things?” says Yahweh. “Shouldn’t my soul be avenged on a nation such as this?

ܘܐܥܒܕܝܗ̇ ܠܐܘܪܫܠܡ ܚܪܒܬܐ ܡܥܡܪܐ ܠܝܪ̈ܘܪܐ ܘܩܘܪ̈ܝܐ ܕܝܗܘܕܐ ܐܬܠ ܠܚܘܪܒܐ ܡܢ ܒܠܝ ܕܝܬܒ
dythb bly mn lkhwrb' 'thl dyhwd' wqwry' lyrwr' memr' khrbth' l'wrshlm w'ebdyh
I will weep and wail for the mountains, and lament for the pastures of the wilderness, because they are burned up, so that no one passes through; Men can’t hear the voice of the livestock. Both the birds of the sky and the animals have fled. They are gone.

ܡܢܘ ܓܒܪܐ ܕܚܟܝܡ ܢܣܬܟܠ ܗܕܐ ܘܕܡܠܬ ܦܘܡܗ ܕܡܪܝܐ ܥܠܘܗܝ ܢܚܘܝܗ̇ ܥܠ ܡܢܐ ܐܒܕܬ ܐܪܥܐ ܘܨܕܬ ܐܝܟ ܡܕܒܪܐ ܡܢ ܒܠܝ ܕܥܒܪ
debr bly mn mdbr' 'yk wtsdth 're' 'bdth mn' el nkhwyh elwhy dmry' pwmh wdmlth hd' nsthkl dkhkym gbr' mnw
“I will make Jerusalem heaps, a dwelling place of jackals. I will make the cities of Judah a desolation, without inhabitant.”

ܘܐܡܪ ܡܪܝܐ ܥܠ ܕܫܒܩܘ ܢܡܘܣܝ ܕܝܗܒܬ ܠܗܘܢ ܘܠܐܒ̈ܗܝܗܘܢ ܘܠܐ ܫܡܥܘ ܒܩܠܝ ܘܠܐ ܗܠܟܘ ܒܗ
bh hlkw wl' bqly shmew wl' wl'bhyhwn lhwn dyhbth nmwsy dshbqw el mry' w'mr
Who is wise enough to understand this? Who is he to whom the mouth of Yahweh has spoken, that he may declare it? Why has the land perished and burned up like a wilderness, so that no one passes through?

ܘܐܙܠܘ ܒܬܪ ܨܒܝ̈ܢܝ ܠܒܗܘܢ ܒܝܫ̣ܐ ܘܒܬܪ ܦܬܟܪ̈ܐ ܕܐܠܦܘ ܐܢܘܢ ܐ̈ܒܗܝܗܘܢ
'bhyhwn 'nwn d'lpw pthkr' wbthr bysh' lbhwn tsbyny bthr w'zlw
Yahweh says, “Because they have forsaken my law which I set before them, and have not obeyed my voice or walked in my ways,

ܡܛܠ ܗܢܐ ܗܟܢܐ ܐܡܪ ܡܪܝܐ ܚܝܠܬܢܐ ܐܠܗܐ ܕܐܝܣܪܝܠ ܗܐ ܡܘܟܠ ܐܢܐ ܠܗܘܢ ܠܥܡܐ ܗܢܐ ܡܪ̈ܪܐ ܘܐܫܩܐ ܐܢܘܢ ܡ̈ܝܐ ܡܪ̈ܝܪܐ
mryr' my' 'nwn w'shq' mrr' hn' lem' lhwn 'n' mwkl h' d'ysryl 'lh' khylthn' mry' 'mr hkn' hn' mTl
but have walked after the stubbornness of their own heart and after the Baals, which their fathers taught them.”

ܘܐܒܕܪ ܐܢܘܢ ܒܥܡ̈ܡܐ ܕܠܐ ܝܕܥܘ ܐܢܘܢ ܗܢܘܢ ܘܐ̈ܒܗܝܗܘܢ ܘܐܫܕܪ ܒܬܪܗܘܢ ܚܪܒܐ ܥܕܡܐ ܕܐܓܡܪ ܐܢܘܢ
'nwn d'gmr edm' khrb' bthrhwn w'shdr w'bhyhwn hnwn 'nwn ydew dl' bemm' 'nwn w'bdr
Therefore Yahweh of Armies, the God of Israel, says, “Behold, I will feed them, even this people, with wormwood and give them poisoned water to drink.

ܗܟܢܐ ܐܡܪ ܡܪܝܐ ܚܝܠܬܢܐ ܩܪܘ ܠܐ̈ܠܝܬܐ ܘܢܐܬܝܢ ܘܥܠ ܚ̈ܟܝܡܬܐ ܫܕܪܘ ܘܢܐܬܝܢ
wn'thyn shdrw khkymth' wel wn'thyn l'lyth' qrw khylthn' mry' 'mr hkn'
I will scatter them also among the nations, whom neither they nor their fathers have known. I will send the sword after them, until I have consumed them.”

ܘܢܣܬܪ̈ܗܒܢ ܘܢܫ̈ܩܠܢ ܥܠܝܢ ܐ̈ܘܠܝܬܐ ܘܢܚ̈ܬܢ ܥܝ̈ܢܝܢ ܕܡ̈ܥܐ ܘܒܒ̈ܬܢ ܢܪܕܝܢ ܡ̈ܝܐ
my' nrdyn wbbthn dme' eynyn wnkhthn 'wlyth' elyn wnshqln wnsthrhbn
Yahweh of Armies says, “Consider, and call for the mourning women, that they may come. Send for the skillful women, that they may come.

ܡܛܠ ܕܩܠܐ ܕܐܘܠܝܬܐ ܐܫܬܡܥ ܡܢ ܨܗܝܘܢ ܕܐܡܪ ܐܝܟܢܐ ܐܬܒܙܙܢ ܒܗܬܢ ܛܒ ܛܒ ܡܛܠ ܕܫܒܩܢ ܐܪܥܐ ܘܢܦܠܘ ܡܫ̈ܟܢܝܢ

Let them make haste and take up a wailing for us, that our eyes may run down with tears and our eyelids gush out with waters.

ܡܛܠ ܗܢܐ ܫܡܥܝܢ ܢ̈ܫܐ̈ ܦܬܓܡܗ ܕܡܪܝܐ ܘܢܩܒܠܢ ܐ̈ܕܢܝܟܝܢ ܡܠܬ ܦܘܡܗ ܘܐܠܦܝܢ ܒܢ̈ܬܟܝܢ ܐ̈ܘܠܝܬܐ ܘܐܢܬܬܐ ܠܚܒܪܬܗ̇ ܩܝܢܬܐ
qynth' lkhbrthh w'nthth' 'wlyth' bnthkyn w'lpyn pwmh mlth 'dnykyn wnqbln dmry' pthgmh nsh' shmeyn hn' mTl
For a voice of wailing is heard out of Zion, ‘How we are ruined! We are greatly confounded because we have forsaken the land, because they have cast down our dwellings.’”

ܡܛܠ ܕܣܠܩ ܡܘܬܐ ܠܟܘ̈ܝܢ ܘܥܠ ܒܣܚܪ̈ܬܢ ܠܡܘܒܕܘ ܛܠܝܐ ܡܢ ܫܘ̈ܩܐ ܘܥ̈ܠܝܡܐ ܡܢ ܦ̈ܠܛܘܬܐ
plTwth' mn welym' shwq' mn Tly' lmwbdw bskhrthn wel lkwyn mwth' dslq mTl
Yet hear Yahweh’s word, you women. Let your ear receive the word of his mouth. Teach your daughters wailing. Everyone teach her neighbor a lamentation.

ܡܛܠ ܕܗܟܢܐ ܐܡܪ ܡܪܝܐ ܢܦܠܢ ܫܠܕܝܗܘܢ ܕܒܢܝܢܫ̈ܐ ܐܝܟ ܙܒܠܐ ܥܠ ܐ̈ܦܝ ܚܩܠܐ ܘܐܝܟ ܥܡܝܪܐ ܒܬܪ ܚܨܘܕܐ ܘܠܝܬ ܡܟܢܫܢܐ
mknshn' wlyth khtswd' bthr emyr' w'yk khql' 'py el zbl' 'yk dbnynsh' shldyhwn npln mry' 'mr dhkn' mTl
For death has come up into our windows. It has entered into our palaces to cut off the children from outside, and the young men from the streets.

ܗܟܢܐ ܐܡܪ ܡܪܝܐ ܠܐ ܢܫܬܒܗܪ ܚܟܝܡܐ ܒܚܟܡܬܗ ܘܠܐ ܢܫܬܒܗܪ ܓܢܒܪܐ ܒܓܢܒܪܘܬܗ ܘܠܐ ܢܫܬܒܗܪ ܥܬܝܪܐ ܒܥܘܬܪܗ
bewthrh ethyr' nshthbhr wl' bgnbrwthh gnbr' nshthbhr wl' bkhkmthh khkym' nshthbhr l' mry' 'mr hkn'
Speak, “Yahweh says, “‘The dead bodies of men will fall as dung on the open field, and as the handful after the harvester. No one will gather them.’”

ܐܠܐ ܒܗܕܐ ܢܫܬܒܗܪ ܡ̇ܢ ܕܡܫܬܒܗܪ ܡܢ ܕܡܣܬܟܠ ܘܝܕܥ ܠܝ ܕܐܢܐ ܐܢܐ ܡܪܝܐ ܥܒܕ ܛܝܒܘܬܐ ܘܕܝܢܐ ܘܙܕܝܩܘܬܐ ܒܐܪܥܐ ܘܒܗܠܝܢ ܨܒܝܬ ܐܡܪ ܡܪܝܐ
mry' 'mr tsbyth wbhlyn b're' wzdyqwth' wdyn' Tybwth' ebd mry' 'n' d'n' ly wyde dmsthkl mn dmshthbhr mn nshthbhr bhd' 'l'
Yahweh says, “Don’t let the wise man glory in his wisdom. Don’t let the mighty man glory in his might. Don’t let the rich man glory in his riches.

ܗܐ ܝܘܡ̈ܬܐ ܐܬ̈ܝܢ ܐܡܪ ܡܪܝܐ ܘܐܦܩܘܕ ܥܠ ܟܠ ܕܓܙܪ ܒܥܘܪܠܘܬܐ
bewrlwth' dgzr kl el w'pqwd mry' 'mr 'thyn ywmth' h'
But let him who glories glory in this, that he has understanding, and knows me, that I am Yahweh who exercises loving kindness, justice, and righteousness in the earth, for I delight in these things,” says Yahweh.

ܥܠ ܡܨܪ̈ܝܐ ܘܥܠ ܝܗ̈ܘܕܝܐ ܘܥܠ ܐܕܘܡ ܘܥܠ ܒܢ̈ܝ ܥܡܘܢ ܘܥܠ ܡܘܐܒ ܘܥܠ ܟܠ ܩܨܝ̈ܨܝ ܦܐܬܐ ܕܝܬܒܝܢ ܒܡܕܒܪܐ ܡܛܠ ܕܟܠܗܘܢ ܥܡ̈ܡܐ ܥܘܪ̈ܠܝܢ ܒܒܣܪܗܘܢ ܘܟܠܗܘܢ ܕܒܝܬ ܐܝܣܪܝܠ ܥܘܪ̈ܠܝܢ ܒܠܒܗܘܢ

“Behold, the days come,” says Yahweh, “that I will punish all those who are circumcised only in their flesh:
