בעדנא ההיא אמר יי יפקון ית גרמי מלכיא דבית יהודה וית גרמי רברביהון וית גרמי כהניא וית גרמי נביי שקרא וית גרמי יתבי ירושלם מקבריהון:
mqbryhwn yrwshlm ythby grmy wyth shqra nbyy grmy wyth khnya grmy wyth rbrbyhwn grmy wyth yhwdh dbyth mlkya grmy yth ypqwn yy amr hhya bedna
“At that time,” says Yahweh, “they will bring the bones of the kings of Judah, the bones of his princes, the bones of the priests, the bones of the prophets, and the bones of the inhabitants of Jerusalem, out of their graves.

וישטחונון לקביל שמשא וסיהרא ולכל חילי שמיא דרחמונון ודפלחונון ודטעו בתריהון ודתבעונון ודסגידו להון לא יתכנשון ולא יתקברון לזיבל מבדר על אפי ארעא יהון:
yhwn area apy el mbdr lzybl ythqbrwn wla ythknshwn la lhwn wdsgydw wdthbewnwn bthryhwn wdTew wdplkhwnwn drkhmwnwn shmya khyly wlkl wsyhra shmsha lqbyl wyshTkhwnwn
They will spread them before the sun, the moon, and all the army of the sky, which they have loved, which they have served, after which they have walked, which they have sought, and which they have worshiped. They will not be gathered or be buried. They will be like dung on the surface of the earth.

ויתרעון במותא מדבחיא לכל שארא דישתארון מן זרעיתא בישתא הדא בכל אתריא דישתארון דאגליתינון לתמן אמר יי צבאות:
tsbawth yy amr lthmn daglythynwn dyshtharwn athrya bkl hda byshtha zreytha mn dyshtharwn shara lkl mdbkhya bmwtha wythrewn
Death will be chosen rather than life by all the residue that remain of this evil family, that remain in all the places where I have driven them,” says Yahweh of Armies.

ותימר להון כדנן אמר יי היפלון ולא יקומון אם למיתב גלי קדמי דלא יתובון:
ythwbwn dla qdmy gly lmythb am yqwmwn wla hyplwn yy amr kdnn lhwn wthymr
“Moreover you shall tell them, ‘Yahweh says: “‘Do men fall, and not rise up again? Does one turn away, and not return?

מה דין מתחסנין למיתב לפולחני עמא הדין יתבי ירושלם תבו למרד מן אוריתא ולא צבן למיתב אתקיפו בנכלין מסרבין למיתב:
lmythb msrbyn bnklyn athqypw lmythb tsbn wla awrytha mn lmrd thbw yrwshlm ythby hdyn ema lpwlkhny lmythb mthkhsnyn dyn mh
Why then have the people of Jerusalem fallen back by a perpetual backsliding? They cling to deceit. They refuse to return.

אציתת וגלי קדמי לא כדכשר ממללין לית גבר דמתיב מן בישתיה למימר מה עבדית כולהון מסגן ברעות נפשיהון כסוסיא דגזר בקרבא:
bqrba dgzr kswsya npshyhwn brewth msgn kwlhwn ebdyth mh lmymr byshthyh mn dmthyb gbr lyth mmllyn kdkshr la qdmy wgly atsythth
I listened and heard, but they didn’t say what is right. No one repents of his wickedness, saying, “What have I done?” Everyone turns to his course, as a horse that rushes headlong in the battle.

אף חוריתא בשמיא ידעא זמנהא ושפנינא וכורכיא וסנוניתא נטרין ית עדן מיעלהון ועמי לא הוו ידעין למעבד ית קימא דיי:
dyy qyma yth lmebd ydeyn hww la wemy myelhwn edn yth nTryn wsnwnytha wkwrkya wshpnyna zmnha ydea bshmya khwrytha ap
Yes, the stork in the sky knows her appointed times. The turtledove, the swallow, and the crane observe the time of their coming; but my people don’t know Yahweh’s law.

איכדין תימרון חכימין אנחנא ועל אוריתא דיי אנחנא רחיצין בכן הא לשקרא עביד ספר קולמס דשקר לזיפא:
lzypa dshqr qwlms spr ebyd lshqra ha bkn rkhytsyn ankhna dyy awrytha wel ankhna khkymyn thymrwn aykdyn
“‘How do you say, “We are wise, and Yahweh’s law is with us”? But, behold, the false pen of the scribes has made that a lie.

בהיתו חכימיא אתברו ואתאחידו הא בפתגמא דיי קצו וחולק בחוכמתא לית להון:
lhwn lyth bkhwkmtha wkhwlq qtsw dyy bpthgma ha wathakhydw athbrw khkymya bhythw
The wise men are disappointed. They are dismayed and trapped. Behold, they have rejected Yahweh’s word. What kind of wisdom is in them?

בכן אתן ית נשיהון לאוחרנין חקלתהון לירותין ארי מן זעירא ועד רבא כולהון אנסי ממון מספר ועד כהן כולהון עבדי שקר:
shqr ebdy kwlhwn khn wed mspr mmwn ansy kwlhwn rba wed zeyra mn ary lyrwthyn khqlthhwn lawkhrnyn nshyhwn yth athn bkn
Therefore I will give their wives to others and their fields to those who will possess them. For everyone from the least even to the greatest is given to covetousness; from the prophet even to the priest everyone deals falsely.

ואסיאו ית תבר כנשתא דעמי במלי שקריהון למימר שלמא שלמא ולית שלם:
shlm wlyth shlma shlma lmymr shqryhwn bmly demy knshtha thbr yth wasyaw
They have healed the hurt of the daughter of my people slightly, saying, “Peace, peace,” when there is no peace.

עליהון למבהת ארי תועבה עבדו אף מבהת לית אינון בהתין ואתכנעו לית אינון ידעין בכן יתרמון קטילין בעדן דאסער עליהון חוביהון יתקלון אמר יי:
yy amr ythqlwn khwbyhwn elyhwn daser bedn qTylyn ythrmwn bkn ydeyn aynwn lyth wathknew bhthyn aynwn lyth mbhth ap ebdw thwebh ary lmbhth elyhwn
Were they ashamed when they had committed abomination? No, they were not at all ashamed. They couldn’t blush. Therefore they will fall among those who fall. In the time of their visitation they will be cast down, says Yahweh.

שצאה אשיצינון אמר יי ויסופון כמיסף ענבין מגפן וכנבלא מתינא וכטרף מאילן על דיהבית להון אוריתי מסיני ועברו עלה:
elh webrw msyny awrythy lhwn dyhbyth el mayln wkTrp mthyna wknbla mgpn enbyn kmysp wyswpwn yy amr ashytsynwn shtsah
“‘I will utterly consume them, says Yahweh. No grapes will be on the vine, no figs on the fig tree, and the leaf will fade. The things that I have given them will pass away from them.’”

על מה אנחנא יתבון אתכנשו וניעול לקרוין כריכן ונשתוק תמן ארי יי אלהנא איתי עלנא תבר ואבהתנא ואשקנא כס דלוט ביש כרישי חיון ארי חבנא קדם יי:
yy qdm khbna ary khywn kryshy bysh dlwT ks washqna wabhthna thbr elna aythy alhna yy ary thmn wnshthwq krykn lqrwyn wnyewl athknshw ythbwn ankhna mh el
“Why do we sit still? Assemble yourselves! Let’s enter into the fortified cities, and let’s be silent there; for Yahweh our God has put us to silence, and given us poisoned water to drink, because we have sinned against Yahweh.

סברנא לשלם ולית טב ולעדן סליחות חובין והא פורענות חטאין:
khTayn pwrenwth wha khwbyn slykhwth wledn Tb wlyth lshlm sbrna
We looked for peace, but no good came; and for a time of healing, and behold, dismay!

על די פלחו לעגלא דבדן מלך במשריתיה יסק עליהון ויגלי יתהון מקל פסיעות גברוהי יזועון כל יתבי ארעא ייתון ויבזון ארעא ומלואה קרויא ודיתבין בהון:
bhwn wdythbyn qrwya wmlwah area wybzwn yythwn area ythby kl yzwewn gbrwhy psyewth mql ythhwn wygly elyhwn ysq bmshrythyh mlk dbdn legla plkhw dy el
The snorting of his horses is heard from Dan. The whole land trembles at the sound of the neighing of his strong ones; for they have come, and have devoured the land and all that is in it, the city and those who dwell therein.”

ארי הא אנא מגרי בכון עממין קטולין כחיוין חורמנין דלית להון לחשא ויקטלון יתכון אמר יי:
yy amr ythkwn wyqTlwn lkhsha lhwn dlyth khwrmnyn kkhywyn qTwlyn emmyn bkwn mgry ana ha ary
“For, behold, I will send serpents, adders among you, which will not be charmed; and they will bite you,” says Yahweh.

על דהוו מלעיגין לקבל נבייא דמתנבן להון דונא ותינחתא איתי עליהון מן קדם חוביהון עליהון אמר נבייא לבי דוי:
dwy lby nbyya amr elyhwn khwbyhwn qdm mn elyhwn aythy wthynkhtha dwna lhwn dmthnbn nbyya lqbl mleygyn dhww el
Oh that I could comfort myself against sorrow! My heart is faint within me.

הא קל צוחת כנשתא דעמי מארעא רחיקא נבייא אוכח יתהון השכינתא דיי לית בציון אם מלכא לית בה מא דין מרגזין קדמי בצלמניהון בפולחן טעותא:
Tewtha bpwlkhn btslmnyhwn qdmy mrgzyn dyn ma bh lyth mlka am btsywn lyth dyy hshkyntha ythhwn awkkh nbyya rkhyqa marea demy knshtha tswkhth ql ha
Behold, the voice of the cry of the daughter of my people from a land that is very far off: “Isn’t Yahweh in Zion? Isn’t her King in her?” “Why have they provoked me to anger with their engraved images, and with foreign idols?”

אמרת כנשתא דישראל עדא זמנא שלים קבא ואנחנא לא מתפרקין:
mthprqyn la wankhna qba shlym zmna eda dyshral knshtha amrth
“The harvest is past. The summer has ended, and we are not saved.”

אמרית ירושלם על תבר כנשתא דעמי אזדעזעית אתחפיאו אפי אכרום אוכמין כקדרא אשתממו אחדתני:
akhdthny ashthmmw kqdra awkmyn akrwm apy athkhpyaw azdezeyth demy knshtha thbr el yrwshlm amryth
For the hurt of the daughter of my people, I am hurt. I mourn. Dismay has taken hold of me.

אמר ירמיה נביא דלמא לא אית בי עובדין טבין למבעי על בית ישראל הלא מחמיד הויתי לאולפניה דאליה נביא דמגלעד דפתגמוהי אינון אסותא ארי על דלא תבו בכן לא סליקת אסו למחת כנשתא דעמי:
demy knshtha lmkhth asw slyqth la bkn thbw dla el ary aswtha aynwn dpthgmwhy dmgled nbya dalyh lawlpnyh hwythy mkhmyd hla yshral byth el lmbey Tbyn ewbdyn by ayth la dlma nbya yrmyh amr
Is there no balm in Gilead? Is there no physician there? Why then isn’t the health of the daughter of my people recovered?
