The word that came to Jeremiah from Yahweh, saying,

ܩܘܡ ܒܬܪܥ ܒܝܬܗ ܕܡܪܝܐ ܘܩܪܝ ܬܡܢ ܦܬܓܡܐ ܗܢܐ ܘܐܡܪ ܫܡܥܘ ܦܬܓܡܗ ܕܡܪܝܐ ܟܠܗܘܢ ܕܒܝܬ ܝܗܘܕܐ ܕܥܐܠܝܢ ܒܬܪ̈ܥܐ ܗܠܝܢ ܠܡܣܓܕ ܠܡܪܝܐ

“Stand in the gate of Yahweh’s house, and proclaim this word there, and say, ‘Hear Yahweh’s word, all you of Judah, who enter in at these gates to worship Yahweh.’”

ܗܟܢܐ ܐܡܪ ܡܪܝܐ ܚܝܠܬܢܐ ܐܠܗܐ ܕܐܝܣܪܝܠ ܐܛܐܒܘ ܐܘܪ̈ܚܬܟܘܢ ܘܥܒ̈ܕܝܟܘܢ ܘܐܫܪܝܟܘܢ ܒܐܬܪܐ ܗܢܐ

Yahweh of Armies, the God of Israel says, “Amend your ways and your doings, and I will cause you to dwell in this place.

ܘܠܐ ܬܬܟܠܘܢ ܠܟܘܢ ܥܠ ܦܬ̈ܓܡܐ ܕܫܘܩܪܐ ܕܐܡܪܝܢ ܠܟܘܢ ܗܝܟܠܗ ܕܡܪܝܐ ܗܝܟܠܗ ܕܡܪܝܐ ܗܝܟܠܗ ܐܢܬܘܢ ܕܡܪܝܐ
dmry' 'nthwn hyklh dmry' hyklh dmry' hyklh lkwn d'mryn dshwqr' pthgm' el lkwn ththklwn wl'
Don’t trust in lying words, saying, ‘Yahweh’s temple, Yahweh’s temple, Yahweh’s temple, are these.’

ܐܢ ܬܫܦܪܘܢ ܐܘܪ̈ܚܬܟܘܢ ܘܥܒ̈ܕܝܟܘܢ ܘܐܢ ܬܥܒܕܘܢ ܕܝܢܐ ܒܝܬ ܓܒܪܐ ܠܚܒܪܗ
lkhbrh gbr' byth dyn' thebdwn w'n webdykwn 'wrkhthkwn thshprwn 'n
For if you thoroughly amend your ways and your doings, if you thoroughly execute justice between a man and his neighbor;

ܘܠܥܡܘܪ̈ܐ ܘܠܝ̈ܬܡܐ ܘܠܐܪ̈ܡܠܬܐ ܠܐ ܬܥܠܒܘܢ ܘܠܐ ܬܛܠܡܘܢ ܘܕܡܐ ܙܟܝܐ ܠܐ ܬܐܫܕܘܢ ܒܐܬܪܐ ܗܢܐ ܘܒܬܪ ܐ̈ܠܗܐ ܐܚܪ̈ܢܐ ܠܐ ܬܐܙܠܘܢ ܕܢܒܐܫ ܠܟܘܢ
lkwn dnb'sh th'zlwn l' 'khrn' 'lh' wbthr hn' b'thr' th'shdwn l' zky' wdm' thTlmwn wl' thelbwn l' wl'rmlth' wlythm' wlemwr'
if you don’t oppress the foreigner, the fatherless, and the widow, and don’t shed innocent blood in this place, and don’t walk after other gods to your own hurt,

ܘܐܫܪܝܟܘܢ ܒܐܬܪܐ ܗܢܐ ܒܐܪܥܐ ܕܝܗܒܬ ܠܐ̈ܒܗܝܟܘܢ ܡܢ ܥܠܡ ܘܥܕܡܐ ܠܥܠܡ
lelm wedm' elm mn l'bhykwn dyhbth b're' hn' b'thr' w'shrykwn
then I will cause you to dwell in this place, in the land that I gave to your fathers, from of old even forever more.

ܘܗܐ ܐܢܬܘܢ ܡܬܬܟܠܝܢ ܥܠ ܦܬ̈ܓܡܐ ܕܫܘܩܪܐ ܕܠܐ ܡܘܬܪܝܢ
mwthryn dl' dshwqr' pthgm' el mththklyn 'nthwn wh'
Behold, you trust in lying words that can’t profit.

ܓܢܒ̈ܝܢ ܐܢܬܘܢ ܘܩ̈ܛܘܠܝܢ ܐܢܬܘܢ ܘܓܝܪ̈ܝܢ ܐܢܬܘܢ ܘܝܡܝܢ ܐܢܬܘܢ ܒܫܡܝ ܒܫܘܩܪܐ ܘܣܝܡܝܢ ܐܢܬܘܢ ܒܣ̈ܡܐ ܠܒܥܠܐ ܘܐܙܠܝܢ ܐܢܬܘܢ ܒܬܪ ܐ̈ܠܗܐ ܐܚܪ̈ܢܐ ܕܠܐ ܝܕܥܬܘܢ
ydethwn dl' 'khrn' 'lh' bthr 'nthwn w'zlyn lbel' bsm' 'nthwn wsymyn bshwqr' bshmy 'nthwn wymyn 'nthwn wgyryn 'nthwn wqTwlyn 'nthwn gnbyn
Will you steal, murder, commit adultery, swear falsely, burn incense to Baal, and walk after other gods that you have not known,

ܘܐܬ̇ܝܢ ܐܢܬܘܢ ܘܩܝ̇ܡܝܢ ܐܢܬܘܢ ܩܕܡܝ ܒܒܝܬܐ ܗܢܐ ܕܐܬܩܪܝ ܫܡܝ ܥܠܘܗܝ ܘܐܡܪܝܢ ܐܢܬܘܢ ܦܨܢ ܘܥܒܕܝܢ ܐܢܬܘܢ ܗܠܝܢ ܟܠܗܝܢ ܒܝܫ̈ܬܐ
byshth' klhyn hlyn 'nthwn webdyn ptsn 'nthwn w'mryn elwhy shmy d'thqry hn' bbyth' qdmy 'nthwn wqymyn 'nthwn w'thyn
then come and stand before me in this house, which is called by my name, and say, ‘We are delivered,’ that you may do all these abominations?

ܕܠܡܐ ܡܥܪܬܐ ܕܓܢܒ̈ܐ ܗܘܐ ܒܝܬܐ ܗܢܐ ܕܐܬܩܪܝ ܫܡܝ ܥܠܘܗܝ ܒܥܝܢ̈ܝܟܘܢ ܘܐܦ ܐܢܐ ܗܐ ܚܙܝܬ ܐܡܪ ܡܪܝܐ
mry' 'mr khzyth h' 'n' w'p beynykwn elwhy shmy d'thqry hn' byth' hw' dgnb' merth' dlm'
Has this house, which is called by my name, become a den of robbers in your eyes? Behold, I myself have seen it,” says Yahweh.

ܡܛܠ ܗܢܐ ܙܠܘ ܠܐܬܪܝ ܕܒܫܝܠܘ ܕܐܫܪܝܬ ܫܡܝ ܬܡܢ ܒܩܕܡܝܬܐ ܘܚܙܘ ܡܕܡ ܕܥܒܕܬ ܠܗ ܡܛܠ ܒܝܫܘܬܗ ܕܥܡܝ ܐܝܣܪܐܝܠ

“But go now to my place which was in Shiloh, where I caused my name to dwell at the first, and see what I did to it for the wickedness of my people Israel.

ܘܗܫܐ ܚܠܦ ܕܥܒܕܬܘܢ ܥ̇ܒ̈ܕܐ ܗܠܝܢ ܟܠܗܘܢ ܐܡܪ ܡܪܝܐ ܘܩܕܡ̇ܬ ܘܐܡܪܬ ܠܟܘܢ ܘܠܐ ܫܡܥܬܘܢ ܘܩܪܝܬ ܠܟܘܢ ܘܠܐ ܥܢܝܬܘܢ
enythwn wl' lkwn wqryth shmethwn wl' lkwn w'mrth wqdmth mry' 'mr klhwn hlyn ebd' debdthwn khlp whsh'
Now, because you have done all these works,” says Yahweh, “and I spoke to you, rising up early and speaking, but you didn’t hear; and I called you, but you didn’t answer;

ܐܥܒܕܝܘܗܝ ܠܒܝܬܐ ܗܢܐ ܕܐܬܩܪܝ ܫܡܝ ܥܠܘܗܝ ܕܐܢܬܘܢ ܬܟܝܠܝܢ ܥܠܘܗܝ ܘܠܩܪܝܬܐ ܕܝܗܒܬ ܠܟܘܢ ܘܠܐ̈ܒܗܝܟܘܢ ܐܝܟ ܕܥܒܕܬ ܠܫܝܠܘ
lshylw debdth 'yk wl'bhykwn lkwn dyhbth wlqryth' elwhy thkylyn d'nthwn elwhy shmy d'thqry hn' lbyth' 'ebdywhy
therefore I will do to the house which is called by my name, in which you trust, and to the place which I gave to you and to your fathers, as I did to Shiloh.

ܘܐܫܕܝܟܘܢ ܡܢ ܩܕܡ ܐ̈ܦܝ ܐܝܟ ܕܫܕܝܬ ܠܟܠܗܘܢ ܐ̈ܚܝܟܘܢ ܠܟܠܗ ܙܪܥܗ ܕܐܦܪܝܡ
d'prym zreh lklh 'khykwn lklhwn dshdyth 'yk 'py qdm mn w'shdykwn
I will cast you out of my sight, as I have cast out all your brothers, even the whole offspring of Ephraim.

ܘܐܢܬ ܠܐ ܬܨܠܐ ܥܠ ܥܡܐ ܗܢܐ ܘܠܐ ܬܒܥܐ ܥܠܝܗܘܢ ܘܠܐ ܬܒܥܐ ܡܢܝ ܡܛܠ ܕܠܐ ܫܡܥ ܐܢܐ ܠܟ
lk 'n' shme dl' mTl mny thbe' wl' elyhwn thbe' wl' hn' em' el thtsl' l' w'nth
“Therefore don’t pray for this people. Don’t lift up a cry or prayer for them or make intercession to me; for I will not hear you.

ܠܐ ܚܙܐ ܐܢܬ ܡܕܡ ܕܥܒܕܝܢ ܒܩܘܪ̈ܝܐ ܕܝܗܘܕܐ ܘܒܫ̈ܘܩܝܗ̇ ܕܐܘܪܫܠܡ
d'wrshlm wbshwqyh dyhwd' bqwry' debdyn mdm 'nth khz' l'
Don’t you see what they do in the cities of Judah and in the streets of Jerusalem?

ܒܢ̈ܝܐ ܡܠܩܛܝܢ ܩܝ̈ܣܐ ܘܐܒܗ̈ܐ ܡܘܩܕܝܢ ܢܘܪܐ ܘܢܫ̈ܐ ܠܝܫ̈ܢ ܠܝܫܐ ܠܡܥܒܕ ܙܘܬܪ̈ܐ ܠܦܘܠܚܢ ܫܡܝܐ ܘܠܡܢܩܝܘ ܢܘܩ̈ܝܐ ܠܐ̈ܠܗܐ ܐܚܪ̈ܢܐ ܕܢܪܓܙܘܢܢܝ
dnrgzwnny 'khrn' l'lh' nwqy' wlmnqyw shmy' lpwlkhn zwthr' lmebd lysh' lyshn wnsh' nwr' mwqdyn w'bh' qys' mlqTyn bny'
The children gather wood, and the fathers kindle the fire, and the women knead the dough, to make cakes to the queen of the sky, and to pour out drink offerings to other gods, that they may provoke me to anger.

ܠܐ ܗܘܐ ܠܝ ܡܪܓܙܝܢ ܐܡܪ ܡܪܝܐ ܐܠܐ ܠܢܦܫܗܘܢ ܕܢܒܗܬܢ ܐ̈ܦܝܗܘܢ
'pyhwn dnbhthn lnpshhwn 'l' mry' 'mr mrgzyn ly hw' l'
Do they provoke me to anger?” says Yahweh. “Don’t they provoke themselves, to the confusion of their own faces?”

ܡܛܠ ܗܢܐ ܗܟܢܐ ܐܡܪ ܡܪܝܐ ܐܠܗܐ ܗܐ ܪܘܓܙܝ ܘܚܡܬܝ ܡܬܬܢܝܚܝܢ ܥܠ ܐܬܪܐ ܗܢܐ ܥܠ ܒܢ̈ܝ ܐܢܫܐ ܘܥܠ ܒܥܝܪܐ ܘܥܠ ܐ̈ܝܠܢܐ ܕܕܒܪܐ ܘܥܠ ܦܐܪ̈ܐ ܕܐܪܥܐ ܘܬܘܩܕ ܘܠܐ ܬܕܥܟ

Therefore the Lord Yahweh says: “Behold, my anger and my wrath will be poured out on this place, on man, on animal, on the trees of the field, and on the fruit of the ground; and it will burn and will not be quenched.”

ܗܟܢܐ ܐܡܪ ܡܪܝܐ ܚܝܠܬܢܐ ܐܠܗܐ ܕܐܝܣܪܝܠ ܥ̈ܠܘܬܗܘܢ ܐܘܣܦܘ ܥܠ ܕܒܚܝܗܘܢ ܘܐܟܠܘ ܒܣܪܐ

Yahweh of Armies, the God of Israel says: “Add your burnt offerings to your sacrifices and eat meat.

ܕܠܐ ܐܡܪܬ ܠܐ̈ܒܗܝܗܘܢ ܘܠܐ ܦܩܕܬ ܐܢܘܢ ܒܝܘܡܐ ܕܐܣܩܬ ܐܢܘܢ ܡܢ ܐܪܥܐ ܕܡܨܪܝܢ ܠܐ ܥܠ ܥܠܬܐ ܘܠܐ ܥܠ ܕܒ̈ܚܐ
dbkh' el wl' elth' el l' dmtsryn 're' mn 'nwn d'sqth bywm' 'nwn pqdth wl' l'bhyhwn 'mrth dl'
For I didn’t speak to your fathers or command them in the day that I brought them out of the land of Egypt concerning burnt offerings or sacrifices;

ܐܠܐ ܐܢܐ ܗܢܐ ܦܬܓܡܐ ܦܩܕܬ ܐܢܘܢ ܘܐܡܪܬ ܫܡܥܘ ܒܩܠܝ ܘܐܗܘܐ ܠܟܘܢ ܐܠܗܐ ܘܐܢܬܘܢ ܬܗܘܘܢ ܠܝ ܥܡܐ ܘܗܠܟܘ ܒܟܠ ܐܘܪܚܐ ܕܡܦܩܕ ܐܢܐ ܠܟܘܢ ܕܢܛܐܒ ܠܟܘܢ

but this thing I commanded them, saying, ‘Listen to my voice, and I will be your God, and you shall be my people. Walk in all the way that I command you, that it may be well with you.’

ܘܠܐ ܫܡܥܘ ܘܠܐ ܐܪܟܢܘ ܐܕܢܗܘܢ ܠܡܫܡܥ ܐܠܐ ܐܙܠܘ ܒܬܪ ܬܪ̈ܥܝܬܗܘܢ ܘܒܬܪ ܨܒܝ̈ܢܝ ܠܒܗܘܢ ܒܝܫܐ ܘܗܦܟܘ ܠܒܣܬܪܗܘܢ ܘܠܐ ܠܩܕܡܝܗܘܢ
lqdmyhwn wl' lbsthrhwn whpkw bysh' lbhwn tsbyny wbthr threythhwn bthr 'zlw 'l' lmshme 'dnhwn 'rknw wl' shmew wl'
But they didn’t listen or turn their ear, but walked in their own counsels and in the stubbornness of their evil heart, and went backward, and not forward.

ܡܢ ܝܘܡܐ ܕܢܦܩܘ ܐ̈ܒܗܝܗܘܢ ܡܢ ܐܪܥܐ ܕܡܨܪܝܢ ܘܥܕܡܐ ܠܝܘܡܢܐ ܘܫܕܪܬ ܠܘܬܗܘܢ ܟܠܗܘܢ ܥܒ̈ܕܝ ܢܒ̈ܝܐ ܒܟܠܝܘܡ ܩܕܡܬ ܘܫܕܪܬ
wshdrth qdmth bklywm nby' ebdy klhwn lwthhwn wshdrth lywmn' wedm' dmtsryn 're' mn 'bhyhwn dnpqw ywm' mn
Since the day that your fathers came out of the land of Egypt to this day, I have sent to you all my servants the prophets, daily rising up early and sending them.

ܘܠܐ ܫܡܥܘ ܘܠܐ ܐܪܟܢܘ ܐܕܢܗܘܢ ܠܘܬܝ ܘܩܫܝܘ ܩܕܠܗܘܢ ܛܒ ܡܢ ܐܒ̈ܗܝܗܘܢ
'bhyhwn mn Tb qdlhwn wqshyw lwthy 'dnhwn 'rknw wl' shmew wl'
Yet they didn’t listen to me or incline their ear, but made their neck stiff. They did worse than their fathers.

ܘܬܐܡܪ ܠܗܘܢ ܗܠܝܢ ܟܠܗܘܢ ܦܬ̈ܓܡܐ ܘܠܐ ܢܫܡܥܘܢܟ ܘܩܪܐ ܐܢܬ ܠܗܘܢ ܘܠܐ ܥܢܝܢ ܠܟ
lk enyn wl' lhwn 'nth wqr' nshmewnk wl' pthgm' klhwn hlyn lhwn wth'mr
“You shall speak all these words to them, but they will not listen to you. You shall also call to them, but they will not answer you.

ܐܒܕܬ ܗܝܡܢܘܬܐ ܘܓܙܬ ܡܢ ܦܘܡܗܘܢ
pwmhwn mn wgzth hymnwth' 'bdth
You shall tell them, ‘This is the nation that has not listened to Yahweh their God’s voice, nor received instruction. Truth has perished, and is cut off from their mouth.’

ܓܘܙܝ ܣܥܪܟܝ ܘܫܕܝ ܘܫܩܘܠ ܥܠ ܫܒܝ̈ܠܐ ܐܘܠܝܬܐ ܕܪܓܙ ܡܪܝܐ ܘܫܒܩܗ ܠܕܪܐ ܥܒܘܪܐ
ebwr' ldr' wshbqh mry' drgz 'wlyth' shbyl' el wshqwl wshdy serky gwzy
Cut off your hair, and throw it away, and take up a lamentation on the bare heights; for Yahweh has rejected and forsaken the generation of his wrath.

ܡܛܠ ܕܥܒܕܘ ܒܢ̈ܝ ܝܗܘܕܐ ܕܒܝܫ ܩܕܡܝ ܐܡܪ ܡܪܝܐ ܣܡܘ ܛܢܦܘܬܗܘܢ ܒܒܝܬܐ ܕܐܬܩܪܝ ܫܡܝ ܥܠܘܗܝ ܘܛܢܦܘܗܝ
wTnpwhy elwhy shmy d'thqry bbyth' Tnpwthhwn smw mry' 'mr qdmy dbysh yhwd' bny debdw mTl
“For the children of Judah have done that which is evil in my sight,” says Yahweh. “They have set their abominations in the house which is called by my name, to defile it.

ܘܒܢܘ ܥ̈ܠܘܬܐ ܒܬܦܬ ܕܒܢܚܠܐ ܕܒܪܗܢܘܡ ܠܡܘܩܕܘ ܒܢܝ̈ܗܘܢ ܘܒܢܬ̈ܗܘܢ ܒܢܘܪܐ ܕܠܐ ܦܩܕܬ ܐܢܘܢ ܘܠܐ ܣܠܩܬ ܥܠ ܠܒܝ
lby el slqth wl' 'nwn pqdth dl' bnwr' wbnthhwn bnyhwn lmwqdw dbrhnwm dbnkhl' bthpth elwth' wbnw
They have built the high places of Topheth, which is in the valley of the son of Hinnom, to burn their sons and their daughters in the fire, which I didn’t command, nor did it come into my mind.

ܡܛܠ ܗܢܐ ܗܐ ܝܘܡ̈ܬܐ ܐܬܝܢ ܐܡܪ ܡܪܝܐ ܘܠܐ ܢܬܐܡܪ ܬܘܒ ܬܦܬ ܘܢܚܠܐ ܕܒܪܗܢܘܡ ܐܠܐ ܐܢ ܢܚܠܐ ܕܩ̈ܛܝܠܐ ܘܢܩܒܪܘܢ ܒܬܦܬ ܡܢ ܒܠܝ ܐܬܪܐ
'thr' bly mn bthpth wnqbrwn dqTyl' nkhl' 'n 'l' dbrhnwm wnkhl' thpth thwb nth'mr wl' mry' 'mr 'thyn ywmth' h' hn' mTl
Therefore behold, the days come”, says Yahweh, “that it will no more be called ‘Topheth’ or ‘The valley of the son of Hinnom’, but ‘The valley of Slaughter’; for they will bury in Topheth until there is no place to bury.

ܘܢܗ̈ܘܝܢ ܫܠܕܝܗܘܢ ܕܥܡܐ ܗܢܐ ܡܐܟܘܠܬܐ ܠܦܪܚܬܐ ܕܫܡܝܐ ܘܠܚܝܘܬܐ ܕܐܪܥܐ ܘܠܝܬ ܡܦܨܝܢܐ
mptsyn' wlyth d're' wlkhywth' dshmy' lprkhth' m'kwlth' hn' dem' shldyhwn wnhwyn
The dead bodies of this people will be food for the birds of the sky, and for the animals of the earth. No one will frighten them away.

ܘܐܒܛܠ ܡܢ ܩܘܪ̈ܝܐ ܕܝܗܘܕܐ ܘܡܢ ܫ̈ܘܩܝܗ̇ ܕܐܘܪܫܠܡ ܩܠܐ ܕܕܝܨܐ ܘܩܠܐ ܕܚܕܘܬܐ ܩܠܐ ܕܚܬܢܐ ܘܩܠܐ ܕܟܠܬܐ ܡܛܠ ܕܠܚܘܪܒܐ ܬܗܘܐ ܟܠܗ̇ ܐܪܥܐ
're' klh thhw' dlkhwrb' mTl dklth' wql' dkhthn' ql' dkhdwth' wql' ddyts' ql' d'wrshlm shwqyh wmn dyhwd' qwry' mn w'bTl
Then I will cause to cease from the cities of Judah and from the streets of Jerusalem the voice of mirth and the voice of gladness, the voice of the bridegroom and the voice of the bride; for the land will become a waste.”
