גלו בני בנימן מגו ירושלם ארי קל צוחת קרנא אשתמעת בארעא ועל בית בקעת כרמיא זקופו עממיא סמותא ארי בישתא אסתכיאת מצפונא ותבירא רבא:
rba wthbyra mtspwna asthkyath byshtha ary smwtha emmya zqwpw krmya bqeth byth wel barea ashthmeth qrna tswkhth ql ary yrwshlm mgw bnymn bny glw
“Flee for safety, you children of Benjamin, out of the middle of Jerusalem! Blow the trumpet in Tekoa and raise up a signal on Beth Haccherem, for evil looks out from the north with a great destruction.

יאתה ומפנקתא איכדין קלקילתא ית אורחתיך בכן בהיתת כנשתא דציון:
dtsywn knshtha bhythth bkn awrkhthyk yth qlqyltha aykdyn wmpnqtha yathh
I will cut off the beautiful and delicate one, the daughter of Zion.

לה ייתון מלכין ומשריתהון יגדון עלה משכנין סחור סחור וסיעין גבר ית חבריה:
khbryh yth gbr wsyeyn skhwr skhwr mshknyn elh ygdwn wmshrythhwn mlkyn yythwn lh
Shepherds with their flocks will come to her. They will pitch their tents against her all around. They will feed everyone in his place.”

זמינו עלה עבדי קרבא קומו ונסק בטיהרא וי לנא ארי פנא יומא ארי נגדו טולי רמשא:
rmsha Twly ngdw ary ywma pna ary lna wy bTyhra wnsq qwmw qrba ebdy elh zmynw
“Prepare war against her! Arise! Let’s go up at noon. Woe to us! For the day declines, for the shadows of the evening are stretched out.

קומו ונסק בליליא ונחבל בירניתהא:
byrnythha wnkhbl blylya wnsq qwmw
Arise! Let’s go up by night, and let’s destroy her palaces.”

ארי כדנן אמר יי צבאות קוצו אעא וצברו על ירושלם מליתא הא קרתא דאתפקידו לה חובהא כולהון אונסין בגוה:
bgwh awnsyn kwlhwn khwbha lh dathpqydw qrtha ha mlytha yrwshlm el wtsbrw aea qwtsw tsbawth yy amr kdnn ary
For Yahweh of Armies said, “Cut down trees, and cast up a mound against Jerusalem. This is the city to be visited. She is filled with oppression within herself.

כגובא דמקיים מוהי כן אוריכו ואתקימו בגוה עבדי בישתא קל חטופין ובזוזין משתמע בה קדמי תדירא על כן איתיתי עלה מרע ומחא:
wmkha mre elh aythythy kn el thdyra qdmy bh mshthme wbzwzyn khTwpyn ql byshtha ebdy bgwh wathqymw awrykw kn mwhy dmqyym kgwba
As a well produces its waters, so she produces her wickedness. Violence and destruction is heard in her. Sickness and wounds are continually before me.

איתרדא ירושלם דלמא ירחק מימרי יתך דלמא אשוינך צדיא כארע סדום דלא אתותבת:
athwthbth dla sdwm kare tsdya ashwynk dlma ythk mymry yrkhq dlma yrwshlm aythrda
Be instructed, Jerusalem, lest my soul be alienated from you, lest I make you a desolation, an uninhabited land.”

כדנן אמר יי צבאות אתבזזא יתבזזון כמא דמהלכין על שולי גפן למקטף שארא דישראל ותתיב מחתך עליהון כדקטיף על סלסלין:
slslyn el kdqTyp elyhwn mkhthk wththyb dyshral shara lmqTp gpn shwly el dmhlkyn kma ythbzzwn athbzza tsbawth yy amr kdnn
Yahweh of Armies says, “They will thoroughly glean the remnant of Israel like a vine. Turn again your hand as a grape gatherer into the baskets.”

על מה אמליל ואסהיד ויקבלון אולפן הא אטפשת אודנהון ולא יכלין למיצת הא פתגמא דיי הוה להון לחיסודין מדלא צבן ביה:
byh tsbn mdla lkhyswdyn lhwn hwh dyy pthgma ha lmytsth yklyn wla awdnhwn aTpshth ha awlpn wyqblwn washyd amlyl mh el
To whom should I speak and testify, that they may hear? Behold, their ear is uncircumcised, and they can’t listen. Behold, Yahweh’s word has become a reproach to them. They have no delight in it.

וית נבואת דיי בתקוף מן קדם יי אתמליתי לאיתי לסוברא ולא יכילתי למשפך על ינקין בשוקא ועל סיעת עולמין כחדא ארי אף גבר עם אתא יתאחדו סב עם דשבע יומין:
ywmyn dshbe em sb ythakhdw atha em gbr ap ary kkhda ewlmyn syeth wel bshwqa ynqyn el lmshpk ykylthy wla lswbra laythy athmlythy yy qdm mn bthqwp dyy nbwath wyth
Therefore I am full of Yahweh’s wrath. I am weary with holding it in. “Pour it out on the children in the street, and on the assembly of young men together; for even the husband with the wife will be taken, the aged with him who is full of days.

ויסתחרון בתיהון לאוחרנין חקלן ונשין כחדא ארי ארים ית מחת גבורתי על יתבי ארעא אמר יי:
yy amr area ythby el gbwrthy mkhth yth arym ary kkhda wnshyn khqln lawkhrnyn bthyhwn wysthkhrwn
Their houses will be turned to others, their fields and their wives together; for I will stretch out my hand on the inhabitants of the land, says Yahweh.”

ארי מזעירהון ועד רבהון כולהון אנסי ממון ומספר ועד כהין כולהון עבדי שקר:
shqr ebdy kwlhwn khyn wed wmspr mmwn ansy kwlhwn rbhwn wed mzeyrhwn ary
“For from their least even to their greatest, everyone is given to covetousness. From the prophet even to the priest, everyone deals falsely.

ואסיאו ית תבר כנשתא דעמי במלי שקריהון למימר שלמא שלמא ולית שלם:
shlm wlyth shlma shlma lmymr shqryhwn bmly demy knshtha thbr yth wasyaw
They have healed also the hurt of my people superficially, saying, ‘Peace, peace!’ when there is no peace.

עליהון למבהת ארי תועבתא עבדו אף מבהת לית אינון בהתין אף אתכנעא לית אינון ידעין בכן יתרמון קטילין בעדן דאסער עליהון חוביהון יתקלון אמר יי:
yy amr ythqlwn khwbyhwn elyhwn daser bedn qTylyn ythrmwn bkn ydeyn aynwn lyth athknea ap bhthyn aynwn lyth mbhth ap ebdw thwebtha ary lmbhth elyhwn
Were they ashamed when they had committed abomination? No, they were not at all ashamed, neither could they blush. Therefore they will fall among those who fall. When I visit them, they will be cast down,” says Yahweh.

כדנן אמר יי קומו על אורחן וחזו ושאילו לשבילין דמן עלמא אידא אורחא דתקנא והליכו בה ואשכחו ניח לנפשכון ואמרו לא ניזיל:
nyzyl la wamrw lnpshkwn nykh washkkhw bh whlykw dthqna awrkha ayda elma dmn lshbylyn wshaylw wkhzw awrkhn el qwmw yy amr kdnn
Yahweh says, “Stand in the ways and see, and ask for the old paths, ‘Where is the good way?’ and walk in it, and you will find rest for your souls. But they said, ‘We will not walk in it.’

ואקימית עליכון מלפין קבילו למלי נביא ואמרו לא נקביל:
nqbyl la wamrw nbya lmly qbylw mlpyn elykwn waqymyth
I set watchmen over you, saying, ‘Listen to the sound of the trumpet!’ But they said, ‘We will not listen!’
18
בכן שמעו עממיא ודעי כנשתא דישראל ית חוביהון:
khwbyhwn yth dyshral knshtha wdey emmya shmew bkn
Therefore hear, you nations, and know, congregation, what is among them.
19
שמעי ארעא דישראל הא אנא מיתי בישתא על עמא הדין תושלמת עובדיהון ארי לפתגמי עבדי נבייא לא קבילו ואוריתי וקצו בה:
bh wqtsw wawrythy qbylw la nbyya ebdy lpthgmy ary ewbdyhwn thwshlmth hdyn ema el byshtha mythy ana ha dyshral area shmey
Hear, earth! Behold, I will bring evil on this people, even the fruit of their thoughts, because they have not listened to my words; and as for my law, they have rejected it.

למא דנן קדמי לבונתא דמשבא תיתי וקני טבתא מארע רחיקא עלותכון לא לרעוא ונכסת קודשיכון לא יתקבלון קדמי:
qdmy ythqblwn la qwdshykwn wnksth lrewa la elwthkwn rkhyqa mare Tbtha wqny thythy dmshba lbwntha qdmy dnn lma
To what purpose does frankincense from Sheba come to me, and the sweet cane from a far country? Your burnt offerings are not acceptable, and your sacrifices are not pleasing to me.”

בכן כדנן אמר יי הא אנא מיתי על עמא הדין תקלן ויתקלון בהון אבהן ובנין כחדא מגיר וקריביה ייבדון:
yybdwn wqrybyh mgyr kkhda wbnyn abhn bhwn wythqlwn thqln hdyn ema el mythy ana ha yy amr kdnn bkn
Therefore Yahweh says, “Behold, I will lay stumbling blocks before this people. The fathers and the sons together will stumble against them. The neighbor and his friend will perish.”

כדנן אמר יי הא עמא אתי מצפונא ועממין רברבין ייתון בגלי מסיפי ארעא:
area msypy bgly yythwn rbrbyn wemmyn mtspwna athy ema ha yy amr kdnn
Yahweh says, “Behold, a people comes from the north country. A great nation will be stirred up from the uttermost parts of the earth.

קשתן ותריסין אחידין אכזראין אינון ולית להון רחמין קלהון כימא באתרגושיה ועל סוסותא רכיבין מסדרין אינון כגבר עביד קרבין עלך כנשתא דציון:
dtsywn knshtha elk qrbyn ebyd kgbr aynwn msdryn rkybyn swswtha wel bathrgwshyh kyma qlhwn rkhmyn lhwn wlyth aynwn akzrayn akhydyn wthrysyn qshthn
They take hold of bow and spear. They are cruel, and have no mercy. Their voice roars like the sea, and they ride on horses, everyone set in array, as a man to the battle, against you, daughter of Zion.”

שמענא ית שמעהון אתרשלא ידנא עקא אחדתנא הא כחבלין לילדתא:
lyldtha kkhblyn ha akhdthna eqa ydna athrshla shmehwn yth shmena
We have heard its report. Our hands become feeble. Anguish has taken hold of us, and pains as of a woman in labor.

לא תפקון לחקלא ובאורחא לא תהכון ארי חרבא דסנאה מקטלא למתכנשין מסחור סחור:
skhwr mskhwr lmthknshyn mqTla dsnah khrba ary thhkwn la wbawrkha lkhqla thpqwn la
Don’t go out into the field or walk by the way; for the sword of the enemy and terror are on every side.

כנשתא דעמי אסרו סקין וחפו רישכון בקטמא אבל כיחיד עבידו לכון מספיד במרר ארי בתכיף ייתון בזוזין עלנא:
elna bzwzyn yythwn bthkyp ary bmrr mspyd lkwn ebydw kykhyd abl bqTma ryshkwn wkhpw sqyn asrw demy knshtha
Daughter of my people, clothe yourself with sackcloth, and wallow in ashes! Mourn, as for an only son, most bitter lamentation, for the destroyer will suddenly come on us.
27
בחיר יהבתך בעמי ככרך תקיף ותהודע ותחוי להון ית אורחתהון:
awrkhthhwn yth lhwn wthkhwy wthhwde thqyp kkrk bemy yhbthk bkhyr
“I have made you a tester of metals and a fortress among my people, that you may know and try their way.

כל רברביהון מרדין מהלכין בנכילו כמא דמערב נחש עם פרזלא כולהון מחבלין אינון:
aynwn mkhblyn kwlhwn przla em nkhsh dmerb kma bnkylw mhlkyn mrdyn rbrbyhwn kl
They are all grievous rebels, going around to slander. They are bronze and iron. All of them deal corruptly.

הא כמשב נפחין דחריך בגואה דנורא כן חשא קלהון דנבייא דמתנבן להון תובו לאוריתא ולא תבו וכאברא דמתמסי בגו כורא כן הואה בטילין בעיניהון מלי נבייא דמתנבן להון לא להנאה אליפונון מלפיהון ועובדיהון בישיא לא שבקו:
shbqw la byshya wewbdyhwn mlpyhwn alypwnwn lhnah la lhwn dmthnbn nbyya mly beynyhwn bTylyn hwah kn kwra bgw dmthmsy wkabra thbw wla lawrytha thwbw lhwn dmthnbn dnbyya qlhwn khsha kn dnwra bgwah dkhryk npkhyn kmshb ha
The bellows blow fiercely. The lead is consumed in the fire. In vain they go on refining, for the wicked are not plucked away.
