למואב כדנן אמר יי צבאות אלהא דישראל וי על נבו ארי אתבזיזת בהיתת אתכבישת קריתים בהיתו מבית רוחצנהון ואתברו:
wathbrw rwkhtsnhwn mbyth bhythw qrythym athkbyshth bhythth athbzyzth ary nbw el wy dyshral alha tsbawth yy amr kdnn lmwab
Of Moab. Yahweh of Armies, the God of Israel, says: “Woe to Nebo! For it is laid waste. Kiriathaim is disappointed. It is taken. Misgab is put to shame and broken down.

לית עוד תושבחא למואב בחשבון חשיבו עלה בישא אתו ונשיצינא מלמהוי עמא אף מדמן תתברין בתרך יהכון קטולי חרבא:
khrba qTwly yhkwn bthrk ththbryn mdmn ap ema mlmhwy wnshytsyna athw bysha elh khshybw bkhshbwn lmwab thwshbkha ewd lyth
The praise of Moab is no more. In Heshbon they have devised evil against her: ‘Come! Let’s cut her off from being a nation.’ You also, Madmen, will be brought to silence. The sword will pursue you.

קל צוחתא מחורונים בזא ותברא רבא:
rba wthbra bza mkhwrwnym tswkhtha ql
The sound of a cry from Horonaim, desolation and great destruction!

אתברת מלכות מואב בסרו צוחתא שלטוניהון:
shlTwnyhwn tswkhtha bsrw mwab mlkwth athbrth
Moab is destroyed. Her little ones have caused a cry to be heard.

ארי מסוקית לוחית כד בכן יסקון בכן ארי במחתית חורונים צוחת תבירי קרב יבסרון:
ybsrwn qrb thbyry tswkhth khwrwnym bmkhthyth ary bkn ysqwn bkn kd lwkhyth mswqyth ary
For they will go up by the ascent of Luhith with continual weeping. For at the descent of Horonaim they have heard the distress of the cry of destruction.

ערקו שיזיבו נפשיכון והוו כמגדל ערוער דשרן בשכונין במדברא:
bmdbra bshkwnyn dshrn erwer kmgdl whww npshykwn shyzybw erqw
Flee! Save your lives! Be like the juniper bush in the wilderness.

ארי חלף דאתרחיצת באוצרך ובבית גנזך אף את תתאחדין ויפוק כמוש בגלותא פלחוהי ורברבוהי כחדא:
kkhda wrbrbwhy plkhwhy bglwtha kmwsh wypwq ththakhdyn ath ap gnzk wbbyth bawtsrk dathrkhytsth khlp ary
For, because you have trusted in your works and in your treasures, you also will be taken. Chemosh will go out into captivity, his priests and his princes together.

וייתון בזוזין על כל קרויהון וקרוא מנהון לא תשתיזיב וייבדון דיתבין בעומקא וישתיצון דשרן במישרא דאמר יי:
yy damr bmyshra dshrn wyshthytswn bewmqa dythbyn wyybdwn thshthyzyb la mnhwn wqrwa qrwyhwn kl el bzwzyn wyythwn
The destroyer will come on every city, and no city will escape; the valley also will perish, and the plain will be destroyed, as Yahweh has spoken.

אעדו בתרא מן מואב ארי מגלא תגלי וקרוהא לצדו יהוין מבלי יתיב בהון:
bhwn ythyb mbly yhwyn ltsdw wqrwha thgly mgla ary mwab mn bthra aedw
Give wings to Moab, that she may fly and get herself away: and her cities will become a desolation, without anyone to dwell in them.

ליט די עביד עלה עובדא מן קדם יי בנכלא וליט דמנע חרביה מקטול:
mqTwl khrbyh dmne wlyT bnkla yy qdm mn ewbda elh ebyd dy lyT
“Cursed is he who does the work of Yahweh negligently; and cursed is he who keeps back his sword from blood.

שלן מואבאי מזעוריהון ושקטין אינון על נכסיהון ולא אתגליאו מאתר לאתרא ובגלותא לא הליכו על כן אוריכו שליוא נכסיהון כחמרא דנטיר על שמריה וריחיה לא פג:
pg la wrykhyh shmryh el dnTyr kkhmra nksyhwn shlywa awrykw kn el hlykw la wbglwtha lathra mathr athglyaw wla nksyhwn el aynwn wshqTyn mzewryhwn mwabay shln
“Moab has been at ease from his youth, and he has settled on his dregs, and has not been emptied from vessel to vessel, neither has he gone into captivity; therefore his taste remains in him, and his scent is not changed.

בכן הא יומיא אתן אמר יי ואשלח עליכון בזוזין ויבזונונון ונכסיהון ירוקנון וטוב ארעהון יגמרון:
ygmrwn arehwn wTwb yrwqnwn wnksyhwn wybzwnwnwn bzwzyn elykwn washlkh yy amr athn ywmya ha bkn
Therefore behold, the days come,” says Yahweh, “that I will send to him those who pour off, and they will pour him off; and they will empty his vessels, and break their containers in pieces.

ויבהתון מואבאי דפלחין לכמוש כמא דבהיתו בית ישראל מבית אל רוחצנהון:
rwkhtsnhwn al mbyth yshral byth dbhythw kma lkmwsh dplkhyn mwabay wybhthwn
Moab will be ashamed of Chemosh, as the house of Israel was ashamed of Bethel, their confidence.

איכדין תמרון גברין אנחנא וגברין דחילא למעבד קרבא:
qrba lmebd dkhyla wgbryn ankhna gbryn thmrwn aykdyn
“How do you say, ‘We are mighty men, and valiant men for the war’?

אתבזיזו מואבאי וקרויהון חרובא ושפר עולימיהון יתמסרון לקטלא אמר מלכא יי צבאות שמיה:
shmyh tsbawth yy mlka amr lqTla ythmsrwn ewlymyhwn wshpr khrwba wqrwyhwn mwabay athbzyzw
Moab is laid waste, and they have gone up into his cities, and his chosen young men have gone down to the slaughter,” says the King, whose name is Yahweh of Armies.

קריב תברהון דמואבאי למיתי ובשתהון מוחיא לחדא:
lkhda mwkhya wbshthhwn lmythy dmwabay thbrhwn qryb
“The calamity of Moab is near to come, and his affliction hurries fast.
17
דוו עלוהי כל סחרנוהי וכל ידעי שמיה אמרו איכדין אתבר מלך מבאיש שלטון מעיק:
meyq shlTwn mbaysh mlk athbr aykdyn amrw shmyh ydey wkl skhrnwhy kl elwhy dww
All you who are around him, bemoan him; and all you who know his name, say, ‘How the strong staff is broken, the beautiful rod!’

חותי מיקרא ותובי בצחיא מלכות כנשתא דדיבון ארי בזוזין אתו על מואב סליקו עלך חבילו כרכיך:
krkyk khbylw elk slyqw mwab el athw bzwzyn ary ddybwn knshtha mlkwth btskhya wthwby myqra khwthy
“You daughter who dwells in Dibon, come down from your glory, and sit in thirst; for the destroyer of Moab has come up against you. He has destroyed your strongholds.

על אורחא קומו וסכו דיתבין בערוער שאילו שאילו למערקיא ולמשיזביא אמרו מה הוה על תברא דיכי:
dyky thbra el hwh mh amrw wlmshyzbya lmerqya shaylw shaylw berwer dythbyn wskw qwmw awrkha el
Inhabitant of Aroer, stand by the way and watch. Ask him who flees, and her who escapes; say, ‘What has been done?’

בהיתו מואבאי ארי אתברו אילילו וצוחו חוו בארנון ארי אתבזיזו מואבאי:
mwabay athbzyzw ary barnwn khww wtswkhw aylylw athbrw ary mwabay bhythw
Moab is disappointed; for it is broken down. Wail and cry! Tell it by the Arnon, that Moab is laid waste.

ועבדי פורענותא מטו לארע מישרא לחולון וליהץ ועל מיפעת:
mypeth wel wlyhts lkhwlwn myshra lare mTw pwrenwtha webdy
Judgment has come on the plain country— on Holon, on Jahzah, on Mephaath,

ועל דיבון ועל נבו ועל בית דבלתים:
dblthym byth wel nbw wel dybwn wel
on Dibon, on Nebo, on Beth Diblathaim,

ועל קריתים ועל בית גמול ועל בית מעון:
mewn byth wel gmwl byth wel qrythym wel
on Kiriathaim, on Beth Gamul, on Beth Meon,
24
ועל קריות ועל בצרה ועל כל קרוי ארע מואב דרחיקין ודקריבין:
wdqrybyn drkhyqyn mwab are qrwy kl wel btsrh wel qrywth wel
on Kerioth, on Bozrah, and on all the cities of the land of Moab, far or near.
25
אתקטפת מלכות מואב ושלטניהון אתברו אמר יי:
yy amr athbrw wshlTnyhwn mwab mlkwth athqTpth
The horn of Moab is cut off, and his arm is broken,” says Yahweh.

איתא עליהון עקא ויהון דמן לרויא ארי על עמא דיי אתרברבו וידרשון מואבאי באתריהון ללעיב אף אינון:
aynwn ap lleyb bathryhwn mwabay wydrshwn athrbrbw dyy ema el ary lrwya dmn wyhwn eqa elyhwn aytha
“Make him drunk, for he magnified himself against Yahweh. Moab will wallow in his vomit, and he also will be in derision.

ועל דחדיתון על תביריה דישראל בדלא חטו לכון כאלו בגנבין אשתכחו ועל דאסגיתון עליהון פתגמין בכן תטלטלון:
thTlTlwn bkn pthgmyn elyhwn dasgythwn wel ashthkkhw bgnbyn kalw lkwn khTw bdla dyshral thbyryh el dkhdythwn wel
For wasn’t Israel a derision to you? Was he found among thieves? For as often as you speak of him, you shake your head.

שבקו קרויא ושרו בכיפא יתבי מואב והוו כיונה דשבקא פום שובכא ונחתא ושריא בארעית גובא:
gwba bareyth wshrya wnkhtha shwbka pwm dshbqa kywnh whww mwab ythby bkypa wshrw qrwya shbqw
You inhabitants of Moab, leave the cities, and dwell in the rock. Be like the dove that makes her nest over the mouth of the abyss.

שמענא רברבי מואב דמתגאן לחדא רברביהון ומפנקיהון וגיותנותהון ורמות לבהון:
lbhwn wrmwth wgywthnwthhwn wmpnqyhwn rbrbyhwn lkhda dmthgan mwab rbrby shmena
“We have heard of the pride of Moab. He is very proud in his loftiness, his pride, his arrogance, and the arrogance of his heart.
30
קדמי גלן אמר יי עובדי רברבניהון ולא תקנין יקיריהון לא כדכשר עבדו:
ebdw kdkshr la yqyryhwn thqnyn wla rbrbnyhwn ewbdy yy amr gln qdmy
I know his wrath,” says Yahweh, “that it is nothing; his boastings have done nothing.

על כן על מואבאי מיללין ועל מואבאי כולהון מצוחין על אנש כרך תוקפהון דון:
dwn thwqphwn krk ansh el mtswkhyn kwlhwn mwabay wel myllyn mwabay el kn el
Therefore I will wail for Moab. Yes, I will cry out for all Moab. They will mourn for the men of Kir Heres.

בכן כמא דאיתיתי משרין על יעזר כן איתי קטולין על שבמא מטלטלך גזו עברו ימא עד ים יעזר מטו על חצריך ועל קטפיך בזוזין נפלו:
nplw bzwzyn qTpyk wel khtsryk el mTw yezr ym ed yma ebrw gzw mTlTlk shbma el qTwlyn aythy kn yezr el mshryn daythythy kma bkn
With more than the weeping of Jazer I will weep for you, vine of Sibmah. Your branches passed over the sea. They reached even to the sea of Jazer. The destroyer has fallen on your summer fruits and on your vintage.

ותתכניש ביע וחדוא מכרמלא ומארע מואב וחמר ממעצריא אבטלית לא יעצרון עיצורין ולא ירימון בקלהון:
bqlhwn yrymwn wla eytswryn yetsrwn la abTlyth mmetsrya wkhmr mwab wmare mkrmla wkhdwa bye wththknysh
Gladness and joy is taken away from the fruitful field and from the land of Moab. I have caused wine to cease from the wine presses. No one will tread with shouting. The shouting will be no shouting.

מצוחת חשבון עד אלעלה עד יהץ אשתמע קלהון מצוער עד חורונים עגלת תלתית רבתא ארי אף מי נמרים לצדו יהון:
yhwn ltsdw nmrym my ap ary rbtha thlthyth eglth khwrwnym ed mtswer qlhwn ashthme yhts ed alelh ed khshbwn mtswkhth
From the cry of Heshbon even to Elealeh, even to Jahaz they have uttered their voice, from Zoar even to Horonaim, to Eglath Shelishiyah; for the waters of Nimrim will also become desolate.

ואבטיל מן מואב אמר יי מקריב קורבן על במתא ומסיק בוסמין לטעותיה:
lTewthyh bwsmyn wmsyq bmtha el qwrbn mqryb yy amr mwab mn wabTyl
Moreover I will cause to cease in Moab,” says Yahweh, “him who offers in the high place, and him who burns incense to his gods.
36
על כן בלבהון מואבאי ככינורא המן ולבהון על אנש כרך תוקפיהון כזמר אבובין דוי על כן שאר נכסיהון דקנו יתבזזון:
ythbzzwn dqnw nksyhwn shar kn el dwy abwbyn kzmr thwqpyhwn krk ansh el wlbhwn hmn kkynwra mwabay blbhwn kn el
Therefore my heart sounds for Moab like flutes, and my heart sounds like flutes for the men of Kir Heres. Therefore the abundance that he has gotten has perished.
37
ארי כל סער ריש נתר וכל דקן גלוח על כל סיען מתהממין ועל חרצין סק:
sq khrtsyn wel mthhmmyn syen kl el glwkh dqn wkl nthr rysh ser kl ary
For every head is bald, and every beard clipped. There are cuttings on all the hands, and sackcloth on the waist.

על כל אגריהון דמואבאי וברחוביהון כולהון עבדין מספדא ארי תברית ית מלכות מואב כמנא דלית צרוך ביה אמר יי:
yy amr byh tsrwk dlyth kmna mwab mlkwth yth thbryth ary mspda ebdyn kwlhwn wbrkhwbyhwn dmwabay agryhwn kl el
On all the housetops of Moab, and in its streets, there is lamentation everywhere; for I have broken Moab like a vessel in which no one delights,” says Yahweh.
39
איכדין אתברו אילילו איכדין אחזרו קדלהון מואבאי בהיתו ויהון מואבאי לחוך ולתביר לכל סחרניהון:
skhrnyhwn lkl wlthbyr lkhwk mwabay wyhwn bhythw mwabay qdlhwn akhzrw aykdyn aylylw athbrw aykdyn
“How it is broken down! How they wail! How Moab has turned the back with shame! So will Moab become a derision and a terror to all who are around him.”
40
ארי כדנן אמר יי הא כנשרא דמשתדי כן יסק מלך במשריתיה וישרי על מואב:
mwab el wyshry bmshrythyh mlk ysq kn dmshthdy knshra ha yy amr kdnn ary
For Yahweh says: “Behold, he will fly as an eagle, and will spread out his wings against Moab.

ותתכביש כרכא ומצדתא יתאחדן ויהי לב גבריהון דמואבאי ביומא ההוא כלב אתתא דעקא לה בחבלהא:
bkhblha lh deqa aththa klb hhwa bywma dmwabay gbryhwn lb wyhy ythakhdn wmtsdtha krka wththkbysh
Kerioth is taken, and the strongholds are seized. The heart of the mighty men of Moab at that day will be as the heart of a woman in her pangs.
42
וישתצון מואבאי מלמהוי עם ארי על עמיה דיי אתרברב:
athrbrb dyy emyh el ary em mlmhwy mwabay wyshthtswn
Moab will be destroyed from being a people, because he has magnified himself against Yahweh.
43
דחלא וכומצא ומצדא עלך יתיב מואב אמר יי:
yy amr mwab ythyb elk wmtsda wkwmtsa dkhla
Terror, the pit, and the snare are on you, inhabitant of Moab,” says Yahweh.
44
דיערוק מן קדם דחלא יפול לגו כומצא ודיסק מגו כומצא אתאחד בסרגתא ארי איתי עליהון על מואבאי שנת סעורן חוביהון אמר יי:
yy amr khwbyhwn sewrn shnth mwabay el elyhwn aythy ary bsrgtha athakhd kwmtsa mgw wdysq kwmtsa lgw ypwl dkhla qdm mn dyerwq
“He who flees from the terror will fall into the pit; and he who gets up out of the pit will be taken in the snare, for I will bring on him, even on Moab, the year of their visitation,” says Yahweh.

על דאשתמעו ליתבי חשבון גלו אתקצר חיליהון ערקו ארי קידום תקיף כאשתא נפק מחשבון ועבדי קרבא כשלהוביתא מבית סיחון וקטילו רברבי מואב ויקירי בני אתרגושא:
athrgwsha bny wyqyry mwab rbrby wqTylw sykhwn mbyth kshlhwbytha qrba webdy mkhshbwn npq kashtha thqyp qydwm ary erqw khylyhwn athqtsr glw khshbwn lythby dashthmew el
“Those who fled stand without strength under the shadow of Heshbon; for a fire has gone out of Heshbon, and a flame from the middle of Sihon, and has devoured the corner of Moab, and the crown of the head of the tumultuous ones.
46
וי לכון מואבאי אבדתון עמא דפלחין לכמוש ארי אדברו בנך בשביא ובנתך בגלותא:
bglwtha wbnthk bshbya bnk adbrw ary lkmwsh dplkhyn ema abdthwn mwabay lkwn wy
Woe to you, O Moab! The people of Chemosh are undone; for your sons are taken away captive, and your daughters into captivity.
