דהוה פתגם נבואה מן קדם יי על ירמיה נביא על עממיא:
emmya el nbya yrmyh el yy qdm mn nbwah pthgm dhwh
Yahweh’s word which came to Jeremiah the prophet concerning the nations.

למצרים על משרית פרעה חגירא מלכא דמצרים דהוה על נהר פרת בכרכמיש דמחא נבוכדראצר מלכא דבבל בשתא רביעיתא ליהויקים בר יאשיה מלך שבטא דבית יהודה:
yhwdh dbyth shbTa mlk yashyh br lyhwyqym rbyeytha bshtha dbbl mlka nbwkdratsr dmkha bkrkmysh prth nhr el dhwh dmtsrym mlka khgyra preh mshryth el lmtsrym
Of Egypt: concerning the army of Pharaoh Necoh king of Egypt, which was by the river Euphrates in Carchemish, which Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon struck in the fourth year of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah, king of Judah.

סדרו עגילין ותריסין ואתקרבו לאגחא קרבא:
qrba lagkha wathqrbw wthrysyn egylyn sdrw
“Prepare the buckler and shield, and draw near to battle!

טקיסו סוסותא ויסקון פרשיא ויתעתדון בקולסיא צחצחו מורניתא לבישו סריניא:
srynya lbyshw mwrnytha tskhtskhw bqwlsya wythethdwn prshya wysqwn swswtha Tqysw
Harness the horses, and get up, you horsemen, and stand up with your helmets. Polish the spears, put on the coats of mail.

מה דין חזיתי אינון תבירין מסתחרין לאחורא וגבריהון תבירין ומערק ערקין ולא מתפנן למיקם מן קדם דקטלין בחרבא דמתכנשין עליכון מסחור סחור אמר יי:
yy amr skhwr mskhwr elykwn dmthknshyn bkhrba dqTlyn qdm mn lmyqm mthpnn wla erqyn wmerq thbyryn wgbryhwn lakhwra msthkhryn thbyryn aynwn khzythy dyn mh
Why have I seen it? They are dismayed and are turned backward. Their mighty ones are beaten down, have fled in haste, and don’t look back. Terror is on every side,” says Yahweh.

לא יערוק דקליל ולא ישתיזיב דגבר בארעא צפונא על כיף נהרא פרת אתקלו ונפלו:
wnplw athqlw prth nhra kyp el tspwna barea dgbr yshthyzyb wla dqlyl yerwq la
“Don’t let the swift flee away, nor the mighty man escape. In the north by the river Euphrates they have stumbled and fallen.

מן דין דסליק במשריתיה כעננא דסליק וחפי ית ארעא כמבוע דמיין דמטרפין מוהי:
mwhy dmTrpyn dmyyn kmbwe area yth wkhpy dslyq kenna bmshrythyh dslyq dyn mn
“Who is this who rises up like the Nile, like rivers whose waters surge?

מלכא דמצרים דסליק במשריתיה כעננא דסליק חפי ית ארעא כמבועי דמיין דמטרפין מוהי ואמר אסק אחפי ארעא ומלואה אוביד קרויא ודיתבין בהון:
bhwn wdythbyn qrwya awbyd wmlwah area akhpy asq wamr mwhy dmTrpyn dmyyn kmbwey area yth khpy dslyq kenna bmshrythyh dslyq dmtsrym mlka
Egypt rises up like the Nile, like rivers whose waters surge. He says, ‘I will rise up. I will cover the earth. I will destroy cities and its inhabitants.’

יסקון סוסותא וישתגשון רתיכיא ויפקון גבריא כושאי ופוטאי אחדי תרסין ולודאי דנגדין ומחן בקשתא:
bqshtha wmkhn dngdyn wlwday thrsyn akhdy wpwTay kwshay gbrya wypqwn rthykya wyshthgshwn swswtha ysqwn
Go up, you horses! Rage, you chariots! Let the mighty men go out: Cush and Put, who handle the shield; and the Ludim, who handle and bend the bow.

ויומא ההוא קדם יי צבאות יום פורענותא לאתפרע מסנאי עמיה ותקטיל חרבא ותשבע ותרוי מדמהון ארי קטלא קדם יי אלהים צבאות בארעא צפונא על נהר פרת:
prth nhr el tspwna barea tsbawth alhym yy qdm qTla ary mdmhwn wthrwy wthshbe khrba wthqTyl emyh msnay lathpre pwrenwtha ywm tsbawth yy qdm hhwa wywma
For that day is of the Lord, Yahweh of Armies, a day of vengeance, that he may avenge himself of his adversaries. The sword will devour and be satiated, and will drink its fill of their blood; for the Lord, Yahweh of Armies, has a sacrifice in the north country by the river Euphrates.

סקי לגלעד וסבי שעיף מלכות כנשתא דמצרים לא להנאה אסגית סממנין אסו לא סלקת ליך:
lyk slqth la asw smmnyn asgyth lhnah la dmtsrym knshtha mlkwth sheyp wsby lgled sqy
Go up into Gilead, and take balm, virgin daughter of Egypt. You use many medicines in vain. There is no healing for you.

שמעו עממיא קלניך וצוחתיך אתמליאת ארעא ארי גבר בגבר אתקלו כחדא אתקטלו תרויהון:
thrwyhwn athqTlw kkhda athqlw bgbr gbr ary area athmlyath wtswkhthyk qlnyk emmya shmew
The nations have heard of your shame, and the earth is full of your cry; for the mighty man has stumbled against the mighty, they both fall together.”

פתגם נבואה דמליל יי עם ירמיה נביא למיתי נבוכדראצר מלכא דבבל לממחי ית ארעא דמצרים:
dmtsrym area yth lmmkhy dbbl mlka nbwkdratsr lmythy nbya yrmyh em yy dmlyl nbwah pthgm
The word that Yahweh spoke to Jeremiah the prophet, how that Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon should come and strike the land of Egypt:

חוו במצרים ובסרו במגדול ובסרו במפס ובתחפנחס אמרו אזדרז ואתקין לך ארי קטילת חרבא סחרנך:
skhrnk khrba qTylth ary lk wathqyn azdrz amrw wbthkhpnkhs bmps wbsrw bmgdwl wbsrw bmtsrym khww
“Declare in Egypt, publish in Migdol, and publish in Memphis and in Tahpanhes; say, ‘Stand up, and prepare, for the sword has devoured around you.’

מא דין אתברו גברך ולא יכילו למיקם ארי יי תברינון:
thbrynwn yy ary lmyqm ykylw wla gbrk athbrw dyn ma
Why are your strong ones swept away? They didn’t stand, because Yahweh pushed them.

אסגיאו מתקליהון אף אשתמעו גבר לחבריה ויימרון קומו ונתוב לעמנא ולארעא ילדותנא מן קדם חרבא דסנאה דהיא כחמר מרויא:
mrwya kkhmr dhya dsnah khrba qdm mn yldwthna wlarea lemna wnthwb qwmw wyymrwn lkhbryh gbr ashthmew ap mthqlyhwn asgyaw
He made many to stumble. Yes, they fell on one another. They said, ‘Arise! Let’s go again to our own people, and to the land of our birth, from the oppressing sword.’

זמינו לתמן פרעה מלכא דמצרים דסגיאין אתרגושתיה מעדי זמניא:
zmnya medy athrgwshthyh dsgyayn dmtsrym mlka preh lthmn zmynw
They cried there, ‘Pharaoh king of Egypt is but a noise; he has let the appointed time pass by.’

קים אנא אמר מלכא יי צבאות שמיה ארי כמא דיציב פתגמא דתבור בטוריא וככרמלא בימא כן ייתי תביריה:
thbyryh yythy kn byma wkkrmla bTwrya dthbwr pthgma dytsyb kma ary shmyh tsbawth yy mlka amr ana qym
“As I live,” says the King, whose name is Yahweh of Armies, “surely like Tabor among the mountains, and like Carmel by the sea, so he will come.

מני גלותא אתקיני ליך מלכות כנשתא דמצרים ארי מפס לצדו תהי ותצדי מבלי יתיב:
ythyb mbly wthtsdy thhy ltsdw mps ary dmtsrym knshtha mlkwth lyk athqyny glwtha mny
You daughter who dwells in Egypt, furnish yourself to go into captivity; for Memphis will become a desolation, and will be burned up, without inhabitant.

מלכות יאיא הות מצרים עממין קטולין מצפונא ייתון עלה למבזה:
lmbzh elh yythwn mtspwna qTwlyn emmyn mtsrym hwth yaya mlkwth
“Egypt is a very beautiful heifer; but destruction out of the north has come. It has come.

אף רברבהא בגוה כעגלי רבקא ארי אף אינון אתפניאו ערקו כחדא לא יכילו למיקם ארי יום תברהון אתא עליהון עידן סעודן בישתהון:
byshthhwn sewdn eydn elyhwn atha thbrhwn ywm ary lmyqm ykylw la kkhda erqw athpnyaw aynwn ap ary rbqa kegly bgwh rbrbha ap
Also her hired men in the middle of her are like calves of the stall, for they also are turned back. They have fled away together. They didn’t stand, for the day of their calamity has come on them, the time of their visitation.

קל ניקוש זיניהון כחיון זחלין ארי במשרין יהכון עליכון וכמא דעלין בכשילין למיקץ אעי חורשא:
khwrsha aey lmyqts bkshylyn delyn wkma elykwn yhkwn bmshryn ary zkhlyn kkhywn zynyhwn nyqwsh ql
Its sound will go like the serpent, for they will march with an army, and come against her with axes, as wood cutters.

שיצו רברבהא אמר יי ארי לית להון סוף ארי סגיאין מזחלא ולית להון מנין:
mnyn lhwn wlyth mzkhla sgyayn ary swp lhwn lyth ary yy amr rbrbha shytsw
They will cut down her forest,” says Yahweh, “though it can’t be searched; because they are more than the locusts, and are innumerable.

בהיתת מלכות מצרים אתמסרת ביד עמא דאתא עלה מצפונא:
mtspwna elh datha ema byd athmsrth mtsrym mlkwth bhythth
The daughter of Egypt will be disappointed; she will be delivered into the hand of the people of the north.”
25
אמר יי צבאות אלהא דישראל הא אנא מסער על אתרגושת אלכסנדריא ועל פרעה ועל מצרים ועל טעותהא ועל מלכהא ועל פרעה ועל דמתרחצין עלוהי:
elwhy dmthrkhtsyn wel preh wel mlkha wel Tewthha wel mtsrym wel preh wel alksndrya athrgwshth el mser ana ha dyshral alha tsbawth yy amr
Yahweh of Armies, the God of Israel, says: “Behold, I will punish Amon of No, and Pharaoh, and Egypt, with her gods and her kings, even Pharaoh, and those who trust in him.

ואמסרינון ביד דבען למקטלהון וביד נבוכדראצר מלכא דבבל וביד עבדוהי ובתר כן תשרי כיומי קדם אמר יי:
yy amr qdm kywmy thshry kn wbthr ebdwhy wbyd dbbl mlka nbwkdratsr wbyd lmqTlhwn dben byd wamsrynwn
I will deliver them into the hand of those who seek their lives, and into the hand of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, and into the hand of his servants. Afterwards it will be inhabited, as in the days of old,” says Yahweh.

ואת לא תדחל עבדי יעקב ולא תתבר ישראל ארי הא אנא פריק ליך מרחיק וית בנך מארע גלותהון ויתובון דבית יעקב וישקטון וישרון לרוחצן ולית דמניד:
dmnyd wlyth lrwkhtsn wyshrwn wyshqTwn yeqb dbyth wythwbwn glwthhwn mare bnk wyth mrkhyq lyk pryq ana ha ary yshral ththbr wla yeqb ebdy thdkhl la wath
“But don’t you be afraid, Jacob my servant. Don’t be dismayed, Israel; for, behold, I will save you from afar, and your offspring from the land of their captivity. Jacob will return, and will be quiet and at ease. No one will make him afraid.

את לא תדחל עבדי יעקב אמר יי ארי בסעדך מימרי ארי אעביד גמירא בכל עממיא די אגליתך לתמן ועמך לא אעביד גמירא ואיתי עלך יסורין לאלפותך ברם בדין חסוך ושיצאה לא אשיצינך:
ashytsynk la wshytsah khswk bdyn brm lalpwthk yswryn elk waythy gmyra aebyd la wemk lthmn aglythk dy emmya bkl gmyra aebyd ary mymry bsedk ary yy amr yeqb ebdy thdkhl la ath
Don’t be afraid, O Jacob my servant,” says Yahweh, “for I am with you; for I will make a full end of all the nations where I have driven you, but I will not make a full end of you, but I will correct you in measure, and will in no way leave you unpunished.”
