אם תתוב ישראל לפולחני אמר יי תתקבל תיובתך עד לא תתחתים גזירתך ואם תעידי שקצך מן קדמי לא תטלטל:
thTlTl la qdmy mn shqtsk theydy wam gzyrthk ththkhthym la ed thywbthk ththqbl yy amr lpwlkhny yshral ththwb am
“If you will return, Israel,” says Yahweh, “if you will return to me, and if you will put away your abominations out of my sight; then you will not be removed;

אם תקים בשמי קים הוא יי בקושטא בדינא ובזכותא ויתברכון עממיא בישראל וביה ישתבחון:
yshthbkhwn wbyh byshral emmya wythbrkwn wbzkwtha bdyna bqwshTa yy hwa qym bshmy thqym am
and you will swear, ‘As Yahweh lives,’ in truth, in justice, and in righteousness. The nations will bless themselves in him, and they will glory in him.”

ארי כדנן אמר יי לאנש יהודה וליתבי ירושלם עבידו לכון עובדין טבין ולא תבעון פורקן בחובין:
bkhwbyn pwrqn thbewn wla Tbyn ewbdyn lkwn ebydw yrwshlm wlythby yhwdh lansh yy amr kdnn ary
For Yahweh says to the men of Judah and to Jerusalem, “Break up your fallow ground, and don’t sow among thorns.

תובו לפולחנא דיי ואעדו רשע לבכון אנש יהודה ויתבי ירושלם דלמא ידלק כאשתא רוגזי וישיצי ולא יהי חיס מן קדם בישות עובדיכון:
ewbdykwn byshwth qdm mn khys yhy wla wyshytsy rwgzy kashtha ydlq dlma yrwshlm wythby yhwdh ansh lbkwn rshe waedw dyy lpwlkhna thwbw
Circumcise yourselves to Yahweh, and take away the foreskins of your heart, you men of Judah and inhabitants of Jerusalem; lest my wrath go out like fire, and burn so that no one can quench it, because of the evil of your doings.

חוו ביהודה ובירושלם בסרו ואמרו תקעו שופרא בארעא אכלו אסנו ואמרו אתכנשו וניעול לקרוין כריכן:
krykn lqrwyn wnyewl athknshw wamrw asnw aklw barea shwpra thqew wamrw bsrw wbyrwshlm byhwdh khww
Declare in Judah, and publish in Jerusalem; and say, ‘Blow the trumpet in the land!’ Cry aloud and say, ‘Assemble yourselves! Let’s go into the fortified cities!’

זקופו אתא על ציון גלו לא תתעכבון ארי בישתא אנא מיתי מצפונא ותבירא רבא:
rba wthbyra mtspwna mythy ana byshtha ary ththekbwn la glw tsywn el atha zqwpw
Set up a standard toward Zion. Flee for safety! Don’t wait; for I will bring evil from the north, and a great destruction.”

גלא מלכא מכרכיה ומחבל עממיא נטל במשריתה נפק מאתריה לשואה ארעיך לצדו קרויך יצדין מבלי יתיב:
ythyb mbly ytsdyn qrwyk ltsdw areyk lshwah mathryh npq bmshrythh nTl emmya wmkhbl mkrkyh mlka gla
A lion has gone up from his thicket, and a destroyer of nations. He is on his way. He has gone out from his place, to make your land desolate, that your cities be laid waste, without inhabitant.

על דא ייסרון סקין יספדון וייללון ארי לא תב תקוף רוגזא דיי מננא:
mnna dyy rwgza thqwp thb la ary wyyllwn yspdwn sqyn yysrwn da el
For this, clothe yourself with sackcloth, lament and wail; for the fierce anger of Yahweh hasn’t turned back from us.

ויהי בעידנא ההיא אמר יי יתבר לבא דמלכא ולבא דרברביא ויצדון כהניא ונביי שקרא ישתעממון:
yshthemmwn shqra wnbyy khnya wytsdwn drbrbya wlba dmlka lba ythbr yy amr hhya beydna wyhy
“It will happen at that day,” says Yahweh, “that the heart of the king will perish, along with the heart of the princes. The priests will be astonished, and the prophets will wonder.”

ואמרית קביל בעותי יי אלהים בכן הא נביי שקרא מטען לעמא הדין וליתבי ירושלם למימר שלמא יהי לכון וכעזהא חרבא מקטלא בעמא:
bema mqTla khrba wkezha lkwn yhy shlma lmymr yrwshlm wlythby hdyn lema mTen shqra nbyy ha bkn alhym yy bewthy qbyl wamryth
Then I said, “Ah, Lord Yahweh! Surely you have greatly deceived this people and Jerusalem, saying, ‘You will have peace;’ whereas the sword reaches to the heart.”

בעדנא ההיא יתאמר לעמא הדין וליתבי ירושלם כרוח טיהרין על רישי נגרין דמיין במדברא כן אורח כנשתא דעמי לא למדרי ולא לבדרא:
lbdra wla lmdry la demy knshtha awrkh kn bmdbra dmyyn ngryn ryshy el Tyhryn krwkh yrwshlm wlythby hdyn lema ythamr hhya bedna
At that time it will be said to this people and to Jerusalem, “A hot wind blows from the bare heights in the wilderness toward the daughter of my people, not to winnow, nor to cleanse.

על דטעו בתר נביי שקרא דמתנבן להון ברוח דשקר בכן משרית עממיא מאלין קלילין כרוחא ייתון עליהון כען אף במימרי איתינון ואמליל פורענות דיני מנהון:
mnhwn dyny pwrenwth wamlyl aythynwn bmymry ap ken elyhwn yythwn krwkha qlylyn malyn emmya mshryth bkn dshqr brwkh lhwn dmthnbn shqra nbyy bthr dTew el
A full wind from these will come for me. Now I will also utter judgments against them.”

הא מלך במשריתיה יסק עליהון כעננא דסליק וחפי ית ארעא וכעלעולין רתיכוהי קלילין מנשריא סוסותיה וי לנא ארי אתי למבזנא:
lmbzna athy ary lna wy swswthyh mnshrya qlylyn rthykwhy wkelewlyn area yth wkhpy dslyq kenna elyhwn ysq bmshrythyh mlk ha
Behold, he will come up as clouds, and his chariots will be as the whirlwind. His horses are swifter than eagles. Woe to us! For we are ruined.

אתחורי מלמעבד בישא לבך ירושלם דתתפרקין עד אימתי יורכון ויתקימון עבדי אונס די בגויך:
bgwyk dy awns ebdy wythqymwn ywrkwn aymthy ed dththprqyn yrwshlm lbk bysha mlmebd athkhwry
Jerusalem, wash your heart from wickedness, that you may be saved. How long will your evil thoughts lodge within you?

ארי קל נבייא דמתנבן עליהון דיגלון עד דפלחו לעגלא די בדן ומבשרי בשורן בישן ייתון עליהון על דאשתעבדו לצלמא דאקים מיכה בטורא דבית אפרים:
aprym dbyth bTwra mykh daqym ltslma dashthebdw el elyhwn yythwn byshn bshwrn wmbshry bdn dy legla dplkhw ed dyglwn elyhwn dmthnbn nbyya ql ary
For a voice declares from Dan, and publishes evil from the hills of Ephraim:

אדכרו לעממיא הא בשרו על ירושלם אמרו משרית עממין חטופין כקטופין אתן מארע רחיקא וישרון על קרויא דבית יהודה וירימון עליהון קלהון:
qlhwn elyhwn wyrymwn yhwdh dbyth qrwya el wyshrwn rkhyqa mare athn kqTwpyn khTwpyn emmyn mshryth amrw yrwshlm el bshrw ha lemmya adkrw
“Tell the nations, behold, publish against Jerusalem, ‘Watchers come from a far country, and raise their voice against the cities of Judah.

כנטרי חקלן הוו עלה מסחור סחור ארי על מימרי סריבת אמר יי:
yy amr srybth mymry el ary skhwr mskhwr elh hww khqln knTry
As keepers of a field, they are against her all around, because she has been rebellious against me,’” says Yahweh.
18
אורחתך בישתא ועובדך מקלקליא גרמו אלין ליך דא בישתא ומרדא איתי עלך ירושלם עד דאתבר רשע לביך:
lbyk rshe dathbr ed yrwshlm elk aythy wmrda byshtha da lyk alyn grmw mqlqlya wewbdk byshtha awrkhthk
“Your way and your doings have brought these things to you. This is your wickedness, for it is bitter, for it reaches to your heart.”

אמר נביא מעי מעי כיבין לי זע סמך לבי המי לי לבי לא שתיק ארי קל צוחת קרנא שמעת נפשי יבבות עבדי קרבא:
qrba ebdy ybbwth npshy shmeth qrna tswkhth ql ary shthyq la lby ly hmy lby smk ze ly kybyn mey mey nbya amr
My anguish, my anguish! I am pained at my very heart! My heart trembles within me. I can’t hold my peace, because you have heard, O my soul, the sound of the trumpet, the alarm of war.

תברא על תברא יתערע ארי אתבזיזת כל ארעא בתכיף חרובת ארעי זמן חדא כל קרוי:
qrwy kl khda zmn arey khrwbth bthkyp area kl athbzyzth ary ythere thbra el thbra
Destruction on destruction is decreed, for the whole land is laid waste. Suddenly my tents are destroyed, and my curtains gone in a moment.

עד אימתי אנא חזי סמון אשמע קל קרנא:
qrna ql ashme smwn khzy ana aymthy ed
How long will I see the standard and hear the sound of the trumpet?
22
ארי אטפשו עמי מידע דחלתי לא אליפו בנין טפשין אינון ולא סוכלתנין אינון חכימין אינון לאבאשא ולאוטבא לית אינון ידעין:
ydeyn aynwn lyth wlawTba labasha aynwn khkymyn aynwn swklthnyn wla aynwn Tpshyn bnyn alypw la dkhlthy myde emy aTpshw ary
“For my people are foolish. They don’t know me. They are foolish children, and they have no understanding. They are skillful in doing evil, but they don’t know how to do good.”

חזיתי ית ארעא הא צדיא ורקניא אסתכלית בשמיא והא לא מזהרין נהוריהון:
nhwryhwn mzhryn la wha bshmya asthklyth wrqnya tsdya ha area yth khzythy
I saw the earth and, behold, it was waste and void, and the heavens, and they had no light.

חזיתי טוריא והא זיעין וכל רמתא אתפרקא:
athprqa rmtha wkl zyeyn wha Twrya khzythy
I saw the mountains, and behold, they trembled, and all the hills moved back and forth.
25
חזיתי והא לית עמא שרי עלה וכל עופא דשמיא אטלטלו:
aTlTlw dshmya ewpa wkl elh shry ema lyth wha khzythy
I saw, and behold, there was no man, and all the birds of the sky had fled.

חזיתי והא ארעא דישראל דהוה מנצבא ככרמלא תבת למהוי במדברא וכל קרוהא צדיאה מן קדם יי מן קדם תקוף רוגזיה:
rwgzyh thqwp qdm mn yy qdm mn tsdyah qrwha wkl bmdbra lmhwy thbth kkrmla mntsba dhwh dyshral area wha khzythy
I saw, and behold, the fruitful field was a wilderness, and all its cities were broken down at the presence of Yahweh, before his fierce anger.
27
ארי כדנן אמר יי צדו תהי כל ארעא וגמירא לא אעביד:
aebyd la wgmyra area kl thhy tsdw yy amr kdnn ary
For Yahweh says, “The whole land will be a desolation; yet I will not make a full end.
28
על דא תחרוב ארעא ויקבלון נהורי שמיא מלעילא על דגזרית במימרי חשיבית בעצתי אעבדינה ולא אתיבינה:
athybynh wla aebdynh betsthy khshybyth bmymry dgzryth el mleyla shmya nhwry wyqblwn area thkhrwb da el
For this the earth will mourn, and the heavens above be black, because I have spoken it. I have planned it, and I have not repented, neither will I turn back from it.”

מקל פרשין ודנגדין בקשתא גלו כל יתבי ארעא עלו למערק בחורשיא סליקו לאטמרא בכיפיא כל קרויהון שביקן ולית דיתיב בהון אנש:
ansh bhwn dythyb wlyth shbyqn qrwyhwn kl bkypya laTmra slyqw bkhwrshya lmerq elw area ythby kl glw bqshtha wdngdyn prshyn mql
Every city flees for the noise of the horsemen and archers. They go into the thickets and climb up on the rocks. Every city is forsaken, and not a man dwells therein.

ואת הא מתבזזא מה אית ביך חיל למעבד ארי אתרחיצת על לבשי צבענין ועל דמתקנין בתיקונין דדהב ארי תכחלין בצדידא עינך לא להנאה תתקנין קצו ביך רחמך מקטלין נפשך בען:
ben npshk mqTlyn rkhmk byk qtsw ththqnyn lhnah la eynk btsdyda thkkhlyn ary ddhb bthyqwnyn dmthqnyn wel tsbenyn lbshy el athrkhytsth ary lmebd khyl byk ayth mh mthbzza ha wath
You, when you are made desolate, what will you do? Though you clothe yourself with scarlet, though you deck yourself with ornaments of gold, though you enlarge your eyes with makeup, you make yourself beautiful in vain. Your lovers despise you. They seek your life.

ארי קל כמעדיא שמעית עקא כאתא דמשריא למילד בכור קל כנשתא בציון דמשתטחא ופרסא ידהא אמרא וי כען לי ארי משלהיא נפשי מן קדם קטולין:
qTwlyn qdm mn npshy mshlhya ary ly ken wy amra ydha wprsa dmshthTkha btsywn knshtha ql bkwr lmyld dmshrya katha eqa shmeyth kmedya ql ary
For I have heard a voice as of a woman in travail, the anguish as of her who gives birth to her first child, the voice of the daughter of Zion, who gasps for breath, who spreads her hands, saying, “Woe is me now! For my soul faints before the murderers.”
