למימר הא יפטר גבר ית אתתיה ותהך מלותיה ותהי לגבר אוחרן האפשר דיתוב לותה עוד הלא מחב תחוב ארעא ההיא ואת טעיתא ואתחברת לעממין סגיאין ותובי מכען לפולחני אמר יי:
yy amr lpwlkhny mken wthwby sgyayn lemmyn wathkhbrth Teytha wath hhya area thkhwb mkhb hla ewd lwthh dythwb hapshr awkhrn lgbr wthhy mlwthyh wthhk aththyh yth gbr ypTr ha lmymr
“They say, ‘If a man puts away his wife, and she goes from him, and becomes another man’s, should he return to her again?’ Wouldn’t that land be greatly polluted? But you have played the prostitute with many lovers; yet return again to me,” says Yahweh.

זקופי עינך על נגדין וחזא היכא לא אתחברת ליך למפלח לטעותא על אורחת בית מישריהון אורכת להון כערבאי דשרן בשכונין במדברא וחיבת ארעא בטעותיך ובבישתיך:
wbbyshthyk bTewthyk area wkhybth bmdbra bshkwnyn dshrn kerbay lhwn awrkth myshryhwn byth awrkhth el lTewtha lmplkh lyk athkhbrth la hyka wkhza ngdyn el eynk zqwpy
“Lift up your eyes to the bare heights, and see! Where have you not been lain with? You have sat waiting for them by the road, as an Arabian in the wilderness. You have polluted the land with your prostitution and with your wickedness.

ואתמנעו רסיסיא ומלקושא לא הוה וחוצפא כאתתא נפקת ברא הוה ליך מסרבת לאתכנעא:
lathknea msrbth lyk hwh bra npqth kaththa wkhwtspa hwh la wmlqwsha rsysya wathmnew
Therefore the showers have been withheld and there has been no latter rain; yet you have had a prostitute’s forehead and you refused to be ashamed.

הלא מכען תצלן קדמי רבוני את פרקי דמן עלמא:
elma dmn prqy ath rbwny qdmy thtsln mken hla
Will you not from this time cry to me, ‘My Father, you are the guide of my youth!’?

האפשר דתנטרון ליך חוביך לעלם אם תתקף עלך מחא לאפריש הא מלילת ועבדת בישין ואתנית:
wathnyth byshyn webdth mlylth ha laprysh mkha elk ththqp am lelm khwbyk lyk dthnTrwn hapshr
“‘Will he retain his anger forever? Will he keep it to the end?’ Behold, you have spoken and have done evil things, and have had your way.”

ואמר יי לי ביומי יאשיה מלכא החזיתא מה דעבדו דמתחסנין למיתב לפולחני דבית ישראל אזלין אינון על כל רמא מנטלא ולתחות כל אילן עבוף ופלחין אען לטעותא:
lTewtha aen wplkhyn ebwp ayln kl wlthkhwth mnTla rma kl el aynwn azlyn yshral dbyth lpwlkhny lmythb dmthkhsnyn debdw mh hkhzytha mlka yashyh bywmy ly yy wamr
Moreover, Yahweh said to me in the days of Josiah the king, “Have you seen that which backsliding Israel has done? She has gone up on every high mountain and under every green tree, and has played the prostitute there.

ואמרית בתר דעבדו ית כל אלין לפולחני יתובון ולא תבו וחזו משקריא אחיהון דבית יהודה:
yhwdh dbyth akhyhwn mshqrya wkhzw thbw wla ythwbwn lpwlkhny alyn kl yth debdw bthr wamryth
I said after she had done all these things, ‘She will return to me;’ but she didn’t return, and her treacherous sister Judah saw it.

וגלי קדמי ארי על כל עיסק דטעו דמתחסנין למיתב לפולחני דבית ישראל אגליתינון כמה דיהבין אגרת גט פטורין ומשלחין ולא דחילו משקריא דבית יהודה אחיהון ואזלו וטעו אף אינון:
aynwn ap wTew wazlw akhyhwn yhwdh dbyth mshqrya dkhylw wla wmshlkhyn pTwryn gT agrth dyhbyn kmh aglythynwn yshral dbyth lpwlkhny lmythb dmthkhsnyn dTew eysq kl el ary qdmy wgly
I saw when, for this very cause, that backsliding Israel had committed adultery, I had put her away and given her a certificate of divorce, yet treacherous Judah, her sister, had no fear, but she also went and played the prostitute.

והוה מדקלילא בעינהא טעותהא וחיבת ית ארעא וטעת עם פלחי אבניא ואעיא:
waeya abnya plkhy em wTeth area yth wkhybth Tewthha beynha mdqlyla whwh
Because she took her prostitution lightly, the land was polluted, and she committed adultery with stones and with wood.

ואף בכל דא לא תבו לפולחני משקריא אחיהון דבית יהודה בכל לבהון אלהין בשקרא אמר יי:
yy amr bshqra alhyn lbhwn bkl yhwdh dbyth akhyhwn mshqrya lpwlkhny thbw la da bkl wap
Yet for all this her treacherous sister, Judah, has not returned to me with her whole heart, but only in pretense,” says Yahweh.

ואמר יי לי זכיאו נפשיהון דמתחסנין למיסב לפולחני דבית ישראל ממשקריא דבית יהודה:
yhwdh dbyth mmshqrya yshral dbyth lpwlkhny lmysb dmthkhsnyn npshyhwn zkyaw ly yy wamr
Yahweh said to me, “Backsliding Israel has shown herself more righteous than treacherous Judah.

אזיל ותתנבי ית פתגמיא האלין בארע צפונא ותימר תובו דמתחסנין למיסב לפולחני דבית ישראל אמר יי כד תתובון לא אשלח רוגזי בכון ארי מסגי למעבד טבון אנא אמר יי ולא יתנטרון ליך חוביך לעלם:
lelm khwbyk lyk ythnTrwn wla yy amr ana Tbwn lmebd msgy ary bkwn rwgzy ashlkh la ththwbwn kd yy amr yshral dbyth lpwlkhny lmysb dmthkhsnyn thwbw wthymr tspwna bare halyn pthgmya yth wththnby azyl
Go, and proclaim these words toward the north, and say, ‘Return, you backsliding Israel,’ says Yahweh; ‘I will not look in anger on you, for I am merciful,’ says Yahweh. ‘I will not keep anger forever.

ברם דעי חוביך ארי במימרא דיי אלהך מרידת וקלקילת ית אורחתך אתחברת לעממיא פלחי כוכביא תחות כל אילן עבוף ולמימרי לא קבילתון אמר יי:
yy amr qbylthwn la wlmymry ebwp ayln kl thkhwth kwkbya plkhy lemmya athkhbrth awrkhthk yth wqlqylth mrydth alhk dyy bmymra ary khwbyk dey brm
Only acknowledge your iniquity, that you have transgressed against Yahweh your God, and have scattered your ways to the strangers under every green tree, and you have not obeyed my voice,’” says Yahweh.

תובו בניא דמתחסנין למיתב אמר יי אנא אתרעיתי בכון ואקריב יתכון כאלו אתון משתארון חד מקרתא ותרין מזרעיתא ואעיל יתכון לציון:
ltsywn ythkwn waeyl mzreytha wthryn mqrtha khd mshtharwn athwn kalw ythkwn waqryb bkwn athreythy ana yy amr lmythb dmthkhsnyn bnya thwbw
“Return, backsliding children,” says Yahweh, “for I am a husband to you. I will take one of you from a city, and two from a family, and I will bring you to Zion.

ואמני עליכון פרנסין עבדי רעותי ויפרנסון יתכון במדע ובחוכמא:
wbkhwkma bmde ythkwn wyprnswn rewthy ebdy prnsyn elykwn wamny
I will give you shepherds according to my heart, who will feed you with knowledge and understanding.
16
ויהי ארי תסגון ותפשון בארעא ביומיא האינון אמר יי לא יימרון עוד ארון קימא דיי ולא יסק על לב ולא ידכרון עוד ביה ולא יזועון ולא יגיחון ביה עוד קרב:
qrb ewd byh ygykhwn wla yzwewn wla byh ewd ydkrwn wla lb el ysq wla dyy qyma arwn ewd yymrwn la yy amr haynwn bywmya barea wthpshwn thsgwn ary wyhy
It will come to pass, when you are multiplied and increased in the land in those days,” says Yahweh, “they will no longer say, ‘the ark of Yahweh’s covenant!’ It will not come to mind. They won’t remember it. They won’t miss it, nor will another be made.

בעידנא ההיא יקרון לירושלם אתר בית שכנתא דיי ויתנהון למפלח בה כל עממיא לשמא דיי לירושלם ולא יהכון עוד בתר הרהור לבהון בישא:
bysha lbhwn hrhwr bthr ewd yhkwn wla lyrwshlm dyy lshma emmya kl bh lmplkh wythnhwn dyy shkntha byth athr lyrwshlm yqrwn hhya beydna
At that time they will call Jerusalem ‘Yahweh’s Throne;’ and all the nations will be gathered to it, to Yahweh’s name, to Jerusalem. They will no longer walk after the stubbornness of their evil heart.

ביומיא האינון יתחברון דבית יהודה עם בית ישראל ויתון כחדא מארע צפונא לארעא דאחסינית ית אבהתכון:
abhthkwn yth dakhsynyth larea tspwna mare kkhda wythwn yshral byth em yhwdh dbyth ythkhbrwn haynwn bywmya
In those days the house of Judah will walk with the house of Israel, and they will come together out of the land of the north to the land that I gave for an inheritance to your fathers.

ואנא אמרית איכדין אצלחינך בבניא ואתן ליך ארע חמדתא אחסנת חדות תושבחת עממיא ואמרית רבוני תצלן קדמי ומבתר פולחני לא תתובין:
ththwbyn la pwlkhny wmbthr qdmy thtsln rbwny wamryth emmya thwshbkhth khdwth akhsnth khmdtha are lyk wathn bbnya atslkhynk aykdyn amryth wana
“But I said, ‘How I desire to put you among the children, and give you a pleasant land, a goodly heritage of the armies of the nations!’ and I said, ‘You shall call me “My Father”, and shall not turn away from following me.’

בכן כמה דמשקרא אתתא בבעלה כן שקרתון במימרי בית ישראל אמר יי:
yy amr yshral byth bmymry shqrthwn kn bbelh aththa dmshqra kmh bkn
“Surely as a wife treacherously departs from her husband, so you have dealt treacherously with me, house of Israel,” says Yahweh.

קלא על נגדין אשתמע דבכן ומתאנחין בני ישראל ארי קלקילו ית אורחתהון אתנשיאו ית פולחנא דיי אלההון:
alhhwn dyy pwlkhna yth athnshyaw awrkhthhwn yth qlqylw ary yshral bny wmthankhyn dbkn ashthme ngdyn el qla
A voice is heard on the bare heights, the weeping and the petitions of the children of Israel; because they have perverted their way, they have forgotten Yahweh their God.
22
תובו בניא דמתחסנין למיתב אשבוק לכון כד תתובון הא בכל עדן אתון אמרין תבנא לפולחנך פרוקנא ארי את יי אלהנא:
alhna yy ath ary prwqna lpwlkhnk thbna amryn athwn edn bkl ha ththwbwn kd lkwn ashbwq lmythb dmthkhsnyn bnya thwbw
Return, you backsliding children, and I will heal your backsliding. “Behold, we have come to you; for you are Yahweh our God.
23
בכן לשקרא פלחנא על רמתא ולא להנאה אתרגישנא על טוריא ברם במימרא דיי אלהנא פורקן ישראל:
yshral pwrqn alhna dyy bmymra brm Twrya el athrgyshna lhnah wla rmtha el plkhna lshqra bkn
Truly help from the hills, the tumult on the mountains, is in vain. Truly the salvation of Israel is in Yahweh our God.

ובהתת חובין אסיפת ית ליאות אבהתנא מזעורנא ית ענהון וית בנתיהון:
bnthyhwn wyth enhwn yth mzewrna abhthna lyawth yth asypth khwbyn wbhthth
But the shameful thing has devoured the labor of our fathers from our youth, their flocks and their herds, their sons and their daughters.
25
נשכוב בבהתת חובנא ותחפיננא אתכנעותנא ארי קדם יי אלהנא חבנא אנחנא ואבהתנא מזעורנא ועד יומא הדין ולא קבילנא למימרא דיי אלהנא:
alhna dyy lmymra qbylna wla hdyn ywma wed mzewrna wabhthna ankhna khbna alhna yy qdm ary athknewthna wthkhpynna khwbna bbhthth nshkwb
Let us lie down in our shame, and let our confusion cover us; for we have sinned against Yahweh our God, we and our fathers, from our youth even to this day. We have not obeyed Yahweh our God’s voice.”
