בשתא תשיעיתא לצדקיה מלך שבטא דבית יהודה בירחא עשיראה אתא נבוכדראצר מלכא דבבל וכל משריתיה לירושלם וצרו עלה:
elh wtsrw lyrwshlm mshrythyh wkl dbbl mlka nbwkdratsr atha eshyrah byrkha yhwdh dbyth shbTa mlk ltsdqyh thshyeytha bshtha
In the ninth year of Zedekiah king of Judah, in the tenth month, Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon and all his army came against Jerusalem, and besieged it.

בחדא עשרי שנין לצדקיה בירחא רביעאה בתשעא לירחא אתרעת קרתא:
qrtha athreth lyrkha bthshea rbyeah byrkha ltsdqyh shnyn eshry bkhda
In the eleventh year of Zedekiah, in the fourth month, the ninth day of the month, a breach was made in the city.

ואתו כל רברבי מלכא דבבל ויתיבו בתרעא מציעיתא נרגל שראצר סמגר נבו שרסכים רב סריס נרגל שראצר רב מג וכל שאר רברבי מלכא דבבל:
dbbl mlka rbrby shar wkl mg rb shratsr nrgl srys rb shrskym nbw smgr shratsr nrgl mtsyeytha bthrea wythybw dbbl mlka rbrby kl wathw
All the princes of the king of Babylon came in, and sat in the middle gate: Nergal Sharezer, Samgarnebo, Sarsechim the Rabsaris, Nergal Sharezer the Rabmag, with all the rest of the princes of the king of Babylon.

והוה כד חזנון צדקיה מלך שבטא דבית יהודה וכל גברי עבדי קרבא וערקו ונפקו בליליא מן קרתא באורח גינתא דמלכא בתרעא בין שוריא ונפק באורח מישרא:

When Zedekiah the king of Judah and all the men of war saw them, then they fled and went out of the city by night, by the way of the king’s garden, through the gate between the two walls; and he went out toward the Arabah.

ורדפא משירית כסדאי בתריהון ואדביקו ית צדקיה במישרי יריחו ודברו יתיה ואסקוהי לות נבוכדראצר מלכא דבבל לרבלת בארעא דחמת ומליל עמיה פתגמי דינין:
dynyn pthgmy emyh wmlyl dkhmth barea lrblth dbbl mlka nbwkdratsr lwth wasqwhy ythyh wdbrw yrykhw bmyshry tsdqyh yth wadbyqw bthryhwn ksday mshyryth wrdpa
But the army of the Chaldeans pursued them, and overtook Zedekiah in the plains of Jericho. When they had taken him, they brought him up to Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon to Riblah in the land of Hamath; and he pronounced judgment on him.

ונכיס מלכא דבבל ית בני צדקיה ברבלה לעינוהי וית כל רברבי יהודה נכס מלכא דבבל:
dbbl mlka nks yhwdh rbrby kl wyth leynwhy brblh tsdqyh bny yth dbbl mlka wnkys
Then the king of Babylon killed Zedekiah’s sons in Riblah before his eyes. The king of Babylon also killed all the nobles of Judah.

וית עיני צדקיה עור ואסריה בשלשלן דנחש לאובלא יתיה לבבל:
lbbl ythyh lawbla dnkhsh bshlshln wasryh ewr tsdqyh eyny wyth
Moreover he put out Zedekiah’s eyes and bound him in fetters, to carry him to Babylon.

וית בית מלכא וית בית עמא אוקידו כסדאי בנורא וית שורי ירושלם תרעו:
threw yrwshlm shwry wyth bnwra ksday awqydw ema byth wyth mlka byth wyth
The Chaldeans burned the king’s house and the people’s houses with fire and broke down the walls of Jerusalem.

וית שאר עמא דאשתארו בקרתא וית שמיעיא דאשתמעו עלוהי וית שאר עמא דאשתארו אגלי נבוזראדן רב קטוליא לבבל:
lbbl qTwlya rb nbwzradn agly dashtharw ema shar wyth elwhy dashthmew shmyeya wyth bqrtha dashtharw ema shar wyth
Then Nebuzaradan the captain of the guard carried away captive into Babylon the rest of the people who remained in the city, the deserters also who fell away to him, and the rest of the people who remained.

ומן עמא חשיכיא דלית להון מדעם אשאר נבוזראדן רב קטוליא בארעא דבית יהודה ומנינון למהוי מפלחין בחקלין ובכרמין ביומא ההוא:
hhwa bywma wbkrmyn bkhqlyn mplkhyn lmhwy wmnynwn yhwdh dbyth barea qTwlya rb nbwzradn ashar mdem lhwn dlyth khshykya ema wmn
But Nebuzaradan the captain of the guard left of the poor of the people, who had nothing, in the land of Judah, and gave them vineyards and fields at the same time.

ופקיד נבוכדראצר מלכא דבבל על ירמיה ביד נבוזראדן רב קטוליא למימר:
lmymr qTwlya rb nbwzradn byd yrmyh el dbbl mlka nbwkdratsr wpqyd
Now Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon commanded Nebuzaradan the captain of the guard concerning Jeremiah, saying,

דברהי ועינך שוי עלוהי ולא תעביד ליה מדעם ביש אלהין כמא דמליל עמך כן עביד עמיה:
emyh ebyd kn emk dmlyl kma alhyn bysh mdem lyh thebyd wla elwhy shwy weynk dbrhy
“Take him and take care of him. Do him no harm; but do to him even as he tells you.”

ושלח נבוזראדן רב קטוליא ונבושזבן רב סריס ונרגל שראצר רב מג וכל שאר רברבי מלכא דבבל:
dbbl mlka rbrby shar wkl mg rb shratsr wnrgl srys rb wnbwshzbn qTwlya rb nbwzradn wshlkh
So Nebuzaradan the captain of the guard, Nebushazban, Rabsaris, and Nergal Sharezer, Rabmag, and all the chief officers of the king of Babylon

ושלחו ודברו ית ירמיהו מדרת בית אסיריא ויהבו יתיה לגדליה בר אחיקם בר שפן לאפקותיה לביתא ויתיב בגו עמא:
ema bgw wythyb lbytha lapqwthyh shpn br akhyqm br lgdlyh ythyh wyhbw asyrya byth mdrth yrmyhw yth wdbrw wshlkhw
sent and took Jeremiah out of the court of the guard, and committed him to Gedaliah the son of Ahikam, the son of Shaphan, that he should bring him home. So he lived among the people.

ועם ירמיה הוה פתגם נבואה מן קדם יי כד הוה כלי בדרת בית אסיריא למימר:
lmymr asyrya byth bdrth kly hwh kd yy qdm mn nbwah pthgm hwh yrmyh wem
Now Yahweh’s word came to Jeremiah while he was shut up in the court of the guard, saying,

אזיל ותימר לעבדא דמלכא צדקיה למימר כדנן אמר יי צבאות אלהא דישראל הא אנא מיתי ית פתגמי על קרתא הדא לבישתא ולא לטבא ויהון קדמך ביומא ההוא:
hhwa bywma qdmk wyhwn lTba wla lbyshtha hda qrtha el pthgmy yth mythy ana ha dyshral alha tsbawth yy amr kdnn lmymr tsdqyh dmlka lebda wthymr azyl
“Go, and speak to Ebedmelech the Ethiopian, saying, ‘Yahweh of Armies, the God of Israel, says: “Behold, I will bring my words on this city for evil, and not for good; and they will be accomplished before you in that day.

ואשיזבינך ביומא ההוא אמר יי ולא תתמסר ביד גבריא דאת דחיל מן קדמיהון:
qdmyhwn mn dkhyl dath gbrya byd ththmsr wla yy amr hhwa bywma washyzbynk
But I will deliver you in that day,” says Yahweh; “and you will not be given into the hand of the men of whom you are afraid.

ארי שיזבא אשיזבינך ובחרבא לא תתקטיל ותהי לך נפשך לשיזבא ארי אתרחיצתא על מימרי אמר יי:
yy amr mymry el athrkhytstha ary lshyzba npshk lk wthhy ththqTyl la wbkhrba ashyzbynk shyzba ary
For I will surely save you. You won’t fall by the sword, but you will escape with your life, because you have put your trust in me,” says Yahweh.’”
