ומלך מלך צדקיה בר יאשיה חלף כניה בר יהויקים דאמליך נבוכדראצר מלכא דבבל בארעא דבית יהודה:
yhwdh dbyth barea dbbl mlka nbwkdratsr damlyk yhwyqym br knyh khlp yashyh br tsdqyh mlk wmlk
Zedekiah the son of Josiah reigned as king instead of Coniah the son of Jehoiakim, whom Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon made king in the land of Judah.

ולא קביל הוא ועבדוהי ועמא דארעא לפתגמא דיי דמליל ביד ירמיה נביא:
nbya yrmyh byd dmlyl dyy lpthgma darea wema webdwhy hwa qbyl wla
But neither he, nor his servants, nor the people of the land, listened to Yahweh’s words, which he spoke by the prophet Jeremiah.

ושלח מלכא צדקיהו ית יהוכל בר שלמיה וית צפניה בר מעשיה כהנא לות ירמיה נביא למימר צלי כען עלנא קדם יי אלהנא:
alhna yy qdm elna ken tsly lmymr nbya yrmyh lwth khna meshyh br tspnyh wyth shlmyh br yhwkl yth tsdqyhw mlka wshlkh
Zedekiah the king sent Jehucal the son of Shelemiah and Zephaniah the son of Maaseiah, the priest, to the prophet Jeremiah, saying, “Pray now to Yahweh our God for us.”

וירמיה עליל ונפיק בגו עמא ולא יהבו יתיה בבית אסירי:
asyry bbyth ythyh yhbw wla ema bgw wnpyq elyl wyrmyh
Now Jeremiah came in and went out among the people, for they had not put him into prison.

ומשרית פרעה נפקא ממצרים ושמעו כשדאי דצירין על ירושלם ית שמעהון ואסתלקו מעל ירושלם:
yrwshlm mel wasthlqw shmehwn yth yrwshlm el dtsyryn kshday wshmew mmtsrym npqa preh wmshryth
Pharaoh’s army had come out of Egypt; and when the Chaldeans who were besieging Jerusalem heard news of them, they withdrew from Jerusalem.

והוה פתגם נבואה מן קדם יי עם ירמיה למימר:
lmymr yrmyh em yy qdm mn nbwah pthgm whwh
Then Yahweh’s word came to the prophet Jeremiah, saying,

כדנן אמר יי אלהא דישראל כדין תימרון למלך שבטא דבית יהודה דשלח יתכון לקדמי למתבע אולפן מן קדמי הא משרית פרעה דנפקא לכון לסעיד תבא לארעהון למצרים:
lmtsrym larehwn thba lseyd lkwn dnpqa preh mshryth ha qdmy mn awlpn lmthbe lqdmy ythkwn dshlkh yhwdh dbyth shbTa lmlk thymrwn kdyn dyshral alha yy amr kdnn
“Yahweh, the God of Israel, says, ‘You shall tell the king of Judah, who sent you to me to inquire of me: “Behold, Pharaoh’s army, which has come out to help you, will return to Egypt into their own land.

ויתובון כשדאי ויגיחון קרבא על קרתא הדא ויכבשונה ויוקדונה בנורא:
bnwra wywqdwnh wykbshwnh hda qrtha el qrba wygykhwn kshday wythwbwn
The Chaldeans will come again, and fight against this city. They will take it and burn it with fire.”’

כדנן אמר יי לא תטעון נפשתיכון למימר אסתלקא יסתלקון מננא כסדאי ארי לא יסתלקון:
ysthlqwn la ary ksday mnna ysthlqwn asthlqa lmymr npshthykwn thTewn la yy amr kdnn
“Yahweh says, ‘Don’t deceive yourselves, saying, “The Chaldeans will surely depart from us;” for they will not depart.

ארי אם תקטלון כל משרית כסדאי דמגיחין קרבא עמכון וישתארון בהון גברין מטענין גבר במשכניה יקומון ויוקדון ית קרתא הדא בנורא:
bnwra hda qrtha yth wywqdwn yqwmwn bmshknyh gbr mTenyn gbryn bhwn wyshtharwn emkwn qrba dmgykhyn ksday mshryth kl thqTlwn am ary
For though you had struck the whole army of the Chaldeans who fight against you, and only wounded men remained among them, they would each rise up in his tent and burn this city with fire.’”

והוה כד אסתלקא משרית כסדאי מעל ירושלם מן קדם משרית פרעה:
preh mshryth qdm mn yrwshlm mel ksday mshryth asthlqa kd whwh
When the army of the Chaldeans had withdrawn from Jerusalem for fear of Pharaoh’s army,

ונפק ירמיה מירושלם למיזל לארעא שבטא בנימין לפלגא אחסנתא דאית ליה תמן בגו עמא:
ema bgw thmn lyh dayth akhsntha lplga bnymyn shbTa larea lmyzl myrwshlm yrmyh wnpq
then Jeremiah went out of Jerusalem to go into the land of Benjamin, to receive his portion there, in the middle of the people.

והוה הוא בתרע שבטא בנימין ותמן גברא ממנא ושמיה יראיה בר שלמיה בר חנניה ואחד ית ירמיה נביא למימר לכסדאי את משתמע:
mshthme ath lksday lmymr nbya yrmyh yth wakhd khnnyh br shlmyh br yrayh wshmyh mmna gbra wthmn bnymyn shbTa bthre hwa whwh
When he was in Benjamin’s gate, a captain of the guard was there, whose name was Irijah, the son of Shelemiah, the son of Hananiah; and he seized Jeremiah the prophet, saying, “You are defecting to the Chaldeans!”

ואמר ירמיה שקרא את אמר לית אנא משתמע לכסדאי ולא קביל מניה ואחד יראיה בירמיה ואיתיה לות רברביא:
rbrbya lwth waythyh byrmyh yrayh wakhd mnyh qbyl wla lksday mshthme ana lyth amr ath shqra yrmyh wamr
Then Jeremiah said, “That is false! I am not defecting to the Chaldeans.” But he didn’t listen to him; so Irijah seized Jeremiah, and brought him to the princes.

ורגיזו רברביא על ירמיהו ואלקיאו יתיה ויהבו יתיה בית אסירי בית יהונתן ספרא ארי יתיה עבדו לבית אסירי:
asyry lbyth ebdw ythyh ary spra yhwnthn byth asyry byth ythyh wyhbw ythyh walqyaw yrmyhw el rbrbya wrgyzw
The princes were angry with Jeremiah, and struck him, and put him in prison in the house of Jonathan the scribe; for they had made that the prison.

ארי על ירמיה לבית אסירי ולגיו מן חנותא ויתיב תמן ירמיה יומין סגיאין:
sgyayn ywmyn yrmyh thmn wythyb khnwtha mn wlgyw asyry lbyth yrmyh el ary
When Jeremiah had come into the dungeon house and into the cells, and Jeremiah had remained there many days,

ושלח מלכא צדקיה ודבריה ושאליה מלכא בביתיה בסתרא אמר האית פתגמא מן קדם יי ואמר ירמיא אית ואמר ביד מלכא דבבל תתמסר:
ththmsr dbbl mlka byd wamr ayth yrmya wamr yy qdm mn pthgma hayth amr bsthra bbythyh mlka wshalyh wdbryh tsdqyh mlka wshlkh
then Zedekiah the king sent and had him brought out. The king asked him secretly in his house, “Is there any word from Yahweh?” Jeremiah said, “There is.” He also said, “You will be delivered into the hand of the king of Babylon.”

ואמר ירמיה למלכא צדקיה מה חבית לך ולעבדך ולעמא הדין ארי יהבתון יתי לבית אסירי:
asyry lbyth ythy yhbthwn ary hdyn wlema wlebdk lk khbyth mh tsdqyh lmlka yrmyh wamr
Moreover Jeremiah said to King Zedekiah, “How have I sinned against you, against your servants, or against this people, that you have put me in prison?

ואן נביאיכון דשקרא דאתנביאו לכון למימר לא ייתי מלכא דבבל עליכון ועל ארעא הדא:
hda area wel elykwn dbbl mlka yythy la lmymr lkwn dathnbyaw dshqra nbyaykwn wan
Now where are your prophets who prophesied to you, saying, ‘The king of Babylon will not come against you, nor against this land’?

וכען שמע כען רבוני מלכא תתקביל כען בעותי קדמך ולא תתיבינני לבית יהונתן ספרא ולא אימות תמן:
thmn aymwth wla spra yhwnthn lbyth ththybynny wla qdmk bewthy ken ththqbyl mlka rbwny ken shme wken
Now please hear, my lord the king: please let my supplication be presented before you, that you not cause me to return to the house of Jonathan the scribe, lest I die there.”

ופקיד מלכא צדקיה ופקידו ית ירמיה בדרת בית אסיריא ויהבון ליה פתא דלחמא ליומא משוק נחתומיא עד דשלים כל לחמא מן קרתא ויתיב ירמיה בדרת בית אסיריא:
asyrya byth bdrth yrmyh wythyb qrtha mn lkhma kl dshlym ed nkhthwmya mshwq lywma dlkhma ptha lyh wyhbwn asyrya byth bdrth yrmyh yth wpqydw tsdqyh mlka wpqyd
Then Zedekiah the king commanded, and they committed Jeremiah into the court of the guard. They gave him daily a loaf of bread out of the bakers’ street, until all the bread in the city was gone. Thus Jeremiah remained in the court of the guard.
