פתגם נבואה הוה עם ירמיה מן קדם יי ונבוכדראצר מלכא דבבל וכל משריתיה וכל מלכות ארעא שולטן ידיה וכל עממיא מגיחין קרבא על ירושלם ועל כל קרוהא למימר:
lmymr qrwha kl wel yrwshlm el qrba mgykhyn emmya wkl ydyh shwlTn area mlkwth wkl mshrythyh wkl dbbl mlka wnbwkdratsr yy qdm mn yrmyh em hwh nbwah pthgm
The word which came to Jeremiah from Yahweh, when Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, with all his army, all the kingdoms of the earth that were under his dominion, and all the peoples, were fighting against Jerusalem and against all its cities, saying:

כדנן אמר יי אלהא דישראל אזיל ותימר לצדקיה מלך שבטא דבית יהודה ותימר ליה כדנן אמר יי הא אנא מסר ית קרתא הדא ביד מלכא דבבל ויוקדנה בנורא:
bnwra wywqdnh dbbl mlka byd hda qrtha yth msr ana ha yy amr kdnn lyh wthymr yhwdh dbyth shbTa mlk ltsdqyh wthymr azyl dyshral alha yy amr kdnn
“Yahweh, the God of Israel, says, ‘Go, and speak to Zedekiah king of Judah, and tell him, Yahweh says, “Behold, I will give this city into the hand of the king of Babylon and he will burn it with fire.

ואת לא תשתיזיב מן ידיה ארי אתאחדא תתאחד ובידיה תתמסר ועינך ית עיני מלכא דבבל יחזין ופומיה עם פומך ימלל ולבבל תתובל:
ththwbl wlbbl ymll pwmk em wpwmyh ykhzyn dbbl mlka eyny yth weynk ththmsr wbydyh ththakhd athakhda ary ydyh mn thshthyzyb la wath
You won’t escape out of his hand, but will surely be taken and delivered into his hand. Your eyes will see the eyes of the king of Babylon, and he will speak with you mouth to mouth. You will go to Babylon.”’

ברם קביל פתגמא דיי צדקיה מלך שבטא דבית יהודה כדנן אמר יי עלך לא תתקטיל בחרבא:
bkhrba ththqTyl la elk yy amr kdnn yhwdh dbyth shbTa mlk tsdqyh dyy pthgma qbyl brm
“Yet hear Yahweh’s word, O Zedekiah king of Judah. Yahweh says concerning you, ‘You won’t die by the sword.

בשלמא תמות וביקידות אבהתך מלכיא קדמאי דהוו קדמך כן יוקדון עלך וי על מלכא יספדון עלך ארי פתגמא אנא מללית אמר יי:
yy amr mllyth ana pthgma ary elk yspdwn mlka el wy elk ywqdwn kn qdmk dhww qdmay mlkya abhthk wbyqydwth thmwth bshlma
You will die in peace; and with the burnings of your fathers, the former kings who were before you, so they will make a burning for you. They will lament you, saying, “Ah Lord!” for I have spoken the word,’ says Yahweh.”

ומליל ירמיה נביא עם צדקיהו מלך שבטא דבית יהודה ית כל פתגמיא האלין בירושלם:
byrwshlm halyn pthgmya kl yth yhwdh dbyth shbTa mlk tsdqyhw em nbya yrmyh wmlyl
Then Jeremiah the prophet spoke all these words to Zedekiah king of Judah in Jerusalem,

ומשרית מלכא דבבל מגיחין קרבא על ירושלם ועל כל קרויא דבית יהודה דאשתארא על לכיש ועל עזקה ארי אינון אשתארא בקרויא דבית יהודה קרוין כריכן:
krykn qrwyn yhwdh dbyth bqrwya ashthara aynwn ary ezqh wel lkysh el dashthara yhwdh dbyth qrwya kl wel yrwshlm el qrba mgykhyn dbbl mlka wmshryth
when the king of Babylon’s army was fighting against Jerusalem and against all the cities of Judah that were left, against Lachish and against Azekah; for these alone remained of the cities of Judah as fortified cities.

פתגם נבואה דהוה עם ירמיה מן קדם יי בתר דגזר מלכא צדקיה קים עם כל עמא דבירושלם למקרי להון חרו:
khrw lhwn lmqry dbyrwshlm ema kl em qym tsdqyh mlka dgzr bthr yy qdm mn yrmyh em dhwh nbwah pthgm
The word came to Jeremiah from Yahweh, after King Zedekiah had made a covenant with all the people who were at Jerusalem, to proclaim liberty to them,

לשלחא גבר ית עבדיה וגבר ית אמתיה בר ישראל ובת ישראל בני חורין בדיל דלא יפלחון בהון גבר באחוהי יהודאה:
yhwdah bakhwhy gbr bhwn yplkhwn dla bdyl khwryn bny yshral wbth yshral br amthyh yth wgbr ebdyh yth gbr lshlkha
that every man should let his male servant, and every man his female servant, who is a Hebrew or a Hebrewess, go free, that no one should make bondservants of them, of a Jew his brother.

ושמעו כל רברביא וכל עמא דעלו בקימא לשלחא גבר ית עבדיה וגבר ית אמתיה בני חורין בדיל דלא יפלחון בהון עוד וקבילו ושלחו:
wshlkhw wqbylw ewd bhwn yplkhwn dla bdyl khwryn bny amthyh yth wgbr ebdyh yth gbr lshlkha bqyma delw ema wkl rbrbya kl wshmew
All the princes and all the people obeyed who had entered into the covenant, that everyone should let his male servant and everyone his female servant go free, that no one should make bondservants of them any more. They obeyed and let them go,

ותבו בתר כן ואתיבו ית עבדין וית אמהתא דפטרו בני חורין וכבישונון לעבדין ולאמהן:
wlamhn lebdyn wkbyshwnwn khwryn bny dpTrw amhtha wyth ebdyn yth wathybw kn bthr wthbw
but afterwards they turned, and caused the servants and the handmaids whom they had let go free to return, and brought them into subjection for servants and for handmaids.

והוה פתגם נבואה מן קדם יי עם ירמיה מן קדם יי למימר:
lmymr yy qdm mn yrmyh em yy qdm mn nbwah pthgm whwh
Therefore Yahweh’s word came to Jeremiah from Yahweh, saying,

כדנן אמר יי אלהא דישראל אנא גזרית קים עם אבהתכון ביומא דאפקית יתהון מארעא דמצרים מבית עבדותא למימר:
lmymr ebdwtha mbyth dmtsrym marea ythhwn dapqyth bywma abhthkwn em qym gzryth ana dyshral alha yy amr kdnn
“Yahweh, the God of Israel, says: ‘I made a covenant with your fathers in the day that I brought them out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage, saying:

מסוף שבע שנין תשלחון גבר ית אחוהי בר ישראל דיזדבן לך ויפלחינך שית שנין ותפטריניה בר חורין מעמך ולא קבילו אבהתכון למימרי ולא ארכינו ית אודנהון:
awdnhwn yth arkynw wla lmymry abhthkwn qbylw wla memk khwryn br wthpTrynyh shnyn shyth wyplkhynk lk dyzdbn yshral br akhwhy yth gbr thshlkhwn shnyn shbe mswp
At the end of seven years, every man of you shall release his brother who is a Hebrew, who has been sold to you, and has served you six years. You shall let him go free from you. But your fathers didn’t listen to me, and didn’t incline their ear.

ותבתון אתון יומא דין ועבדתון ית דכשר קדמי למקרי חירו גבר לחבריה וגזרתון קים קדמי בביתא דאתקרי שמי עלוהי:
elwhy shmy dathqry bbytha qdmy qym wgzrthwn lkhbryh gbr khyrw lmqry qdmy dkshr yth webdthwn dyn ywma athwn wthbthwn
You had now turned, and had done that which is right in my eyes, in every man proclaiming liberty to his neighbor. You had made a covenant before me in the house which is called by my name;

ותבתון ואחלתון ית שמי ואתיבתון גבר ית עבדיה וגבר ית אמתיה די פטרתון בני חורין לנפשתהון וכבישתון יתהון למהוי לכון לעבדין ולאמהן:
wlamhn lebdyn lkwn lmhwy ythhwn wkbyshthwn lnpshthhwn khwryn bny pTrthwn dy amthyh yth wgbr ebdyh yth gbr wathybthwn shmy yth wakhlthwn wthbthwn
but you turned and profaned my name, and every man caused his servant and every man his handmaid, whom you had let go free at their pleasure, to return. You brought them into subjection, to be to you for servants and for handmaids.’”

בכן כדנן אמר יי אתון לא קבלתון למימרי למקרי חירו גבר לאחוהי וגבר לחבריה הא אנא מכלי לכון חירו אמר יי מן חרבא ומן מותא ומן כפנא ואתן יתכון לזיע לכל מלכות ארעא:
area mlkwth lkl lzye ythkwn wathn kpna wmn mwtha wmn khrba mn yy amr khyrw lkwn mkly ana ha lkhbryh wgbr lakhwhy gbr khyrw lmqry lmymry qblthwn la athwn yy amr kdnn bkn
Therefore Yahweh says: “You have not listened to me, to proclaim liberty, every man to his brother, and every man to his neighbor. Behold, I proclaim to you a liberty,” says Yahweh, “to the sword, to the pestilence, and to the famine. I will make you be tossed back and forth among all the kingdoms of the earth.

ואתן ית גבריא דעברו על קימי דלא קימו ית פתגמי קימא דגזרו קדמי עגלא דפסקו לתרין ועברו בין פלגוהי:
plgwhy byn webrw lthryn dpsqw egla qdmy dgzrw qyma pthgmy yth qymw dla qymy el debrw gbrya yth wathn
I will give the men who have transgressed my covenant, who have not performed the words of the covenant which they made before me when they cut the calf in two and passed between its parts:

רברבי יהודה ורברבי ירושלם ורברביא וכהניא וכל עמא דארעא דעברו בין פלגי עגלא:
egla plgy byn debrw darea ema wkl wkhnya wrbrbya yrwshlm wrbrby yhwdh rbrby
the princes of Judah, the princes of Jerusalem, the eunuchs, the priests, and all the people of the land, who passed between the parts of the calf.

ואמסר יתהון ביד בעלי דבביהון וביד דבען למקטלהון ותהי נבלתהון משגרא למיכל לעופא דשמיא ולבעירא דארעא:
darea wlbeyra dshmya lewpa lmykl mshgra nblthhwn wthhy lmqTlhwn dben wbyd dbbyhwn bely byd ythhwn wamsr
I will even give them into the hand of their enemies and into the hand of those who seek their life. Their dead bodies will be food for the birds of the sky and for the animals of the earth.

וית צדקיה מלך שבטא דבית יהודה וית רברבוהי אמסר ביד בעלי דבביהון וביד דבען למקטלהון וביד משירית מלכא דבבל דאסתלקא מנכון:
mnkwn dasthlqa dbbl mlka mshyryth wbyd lmqTlhwn dben wbyd dbbyhwn bely byd amsr rbrbwhy wyth yhwdh dbyth shbTa mlk tsdqyh wyth
“I will give Zedekiah king of Judah and his princes into the hands of their enemies, into the hands of those who seek their life and into the hands of the king of Babylon’s army, who has gone away from you.

הא אנא מפקיד אמר יי ואתיבינון על קרתא הדא ויגיחון קרבא עלה ויכבשונה ויוקדונה בנורא וית קרויא דבית יהודה אתן לצדו מבלי יתיב:
ythyb mbly ltsdw athn yhwdh dbyth qrwya wyth bnwra wywqdwnh wykbshwnh elh qrba wygykhwn hda qrtha el wathybynwn yy amr mpqyd ana ha
Behold, I will command,” says Yahweh, “and cause them to return to this city. They will fight against it, take it, and burn it with fire. I will make the cities of Judah a desolation, without inhabitant.”
