ܦܬܓܡܐ ܕܗܘܐ ܥܠ ܐܪܡܝܐ ܡܢ ܩܕܡ ܡܪܝܐ ܘܢܒܘܟܕܢܨܪ ܡܠܟܐ ܕܒܒܠ ܘܟܠܗ ܚܝܠܗ ܘܟܘܠܗܝܢ ܡ̈ܠܟܘܬܐ ܕܐܪܥ ܫܘܠܛܢ ܐܝܕܗ ܘܟܠܗܘܢ ܥܡ̈ܡܐ ܡܬܟܬܫܝܢ ܥܠ ܐܘܪܫܠܡ ܘܥܠ ܟܠܗܝܢ ܩܘܪ̈ܝܗ
qwryh klhyn wel 'wrshlm el mthkthshyn emm' wklhwn 'ydh shwlTn d're mlkwth' wkwlhyn khylh wklh dbbl mlk' wnbwkdntsr mry' qdm mn 'rmy' el dhw' pthgm'
The word which came to Jeremiah from Yahweh, when Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, with all his army, all the kingdoms of the earth that were under his dominion, and all the peoples, were fighting against Jerusalem and against all its cities, saying:

ܗܟܢܐ ܐܡܪ ܡܪܝܐ ܐܠܗܐ ܕܐܝܣܪܝܠ ܙܠ ܘܐܡܪ ܠܨܕܩܝܐ ܡܠܟܐ ܕܝܗܘܕܐ ܗܟܢܐ ܐܡܪ ܡܪܝܐ ܗܐ ܡܫܠܡ ܐܢܐ ܠܗ̇ ܠܩܪܝܬܐ ܗܕܐ ܒܐܝܕܗ ܕܡܠܟܐ ܕܒܒܠ ܘܢܘܩܕܝܗ̇ ܒܢܘܪܐ

“Yahweh, the God of Israel, says, ‘Go, and speak to Zedekiah king of Judah, and tell him, Yahweh says, “Behold, I will give this city into the hand of the king of Babylon and he will burn it with fire.

ܘܐܢܬ ܠܐ ܬܬܦܠܛ ܡܢ ܐ̈ܝܕܘܗܝ ܐܠܐ ܡܬܬܚܕܘ ܬܬܚܕ ܘܒܐ̈ܝܕܘܗܝ ܬܫܬܠܡ ܘܥܝܢ̈ܝܟ ܠܥܝܢ̈ܘܗܝ ܕܡܠܟܐ ܕܒܒܠ ܢܚ̈ܙܝܢ ܘܦܘܡܟ ܥܡ ܦܘܡܗ ܢܡܠܠ ܘܠܒܒܠ ܬܐܙܠ

You won’t escape out of his hand, but will surely be taken and delivered into his hand. Your eyes will see the eyes of the king of Babylon, and he will speak with you mouth to mouth. You will go to Babylon.”’

ܒܪܡ ܫܡܥ ܦܬܓܡܗ ܕܡܪܝܐ ܨܕܩܝܐ ܡܠܟܐ ܕܝܗܘܕܐ ܗܟܢܐ ܐܡܪ ܡܪܝܐ ܥܠܝܟ ܠܐ ܬܡܘܬ ܒܚܪܒܐ

“Yet hear Yahweh’s word, O Zedekiah king of Judah. Yahweh says concerning you, ‘You won’t die by the sword.

ܐܠܐ ܒܫܠܡܐ ܬܡܘܬ ܘܐܝܟ ܕܐܪܩܕܘ ܥܠ ܐ̈ܒܗܝܟ ܡ̈ܠܟܐ ܩܕ̈ܡܝܐ ܕܗܘܘ ܩܕܡܝܟ ܗܟܢܐ ܢܪܩܕܘܢ ܥܠܝܟ ܘܝ ܡܪܐ ܢܪܩܕܘܢ ܥܠܝܟ ܡܛܠ ܕܦܬܓܡܐ ܗܢܐ ܡܠܠܬ ܐܡܪ ܡܪܝܐ
mry' 'mr mllth hn' dpthgm' mTl elyk nrqdwn mr' wy elyk nrqdwn hkn' qdmyk dhww qdmy' mlk' 'bhyk el d'rqdw w'yk thmwth bshlm' 'l'
You will die in peace; and with the burnings of your fathers, the former kings who were before you, so they will make a burning for you. They will lament you, saying, “Ah Lord!” for I have spoken the word,’ says Yahweh.”

ܘܐܡܪ ܐܪܡܝܐ ܢܒܝܐ ܠܨܕܩܝܐ ܡܠܟܐ ܕܝܗܘܕܐ ܟܠܗܘܢ ܦܬܓܡ̈ܐ ܗܠܝܢ ܒܐܘܪܫܠܡ

Then Jeremiah the prophet spoke all these words to Zedekiah king of Judah in Jerusalem,

ܘܚܝ̈ܠܐ ܕܡܠܟܐ ܕܒܒܠ ܡܬܟܬܫܝܢ ܥܠ ܐܘܪܫܠܡ ܘܥܠ ܟܘܠܗܝܢ ܩܘܪ̈ܝܐ ܕܝܗܘܕܐ ܕܐܫܬܚܪ ܥܠ ܠܟܝܫ ܘܥܠ ܥܙܩܐ ܡܛܠ ܕܗܢܝܢ ܐܫܬܚܪ ܒܩܘܪ̈ܝܐ ܕܝܗܘܕܐ ܩܘܪ̈ܝܐ ܥܫܝܢ̈ܬܐ
eshynth' qwry' dyhwd' bqwry' 'shthkhr dhnyn mTl ezq' wel lkysh el d'shthkhr dyhwd' qwry' kwlhyn wel 'wrshlm el mthkthshyn dbbl dmlk' wkhyl'
when the king of Babylon’s army was fighting against Jerusalem and against all the cities of Judah that were left, against Lachish and against Azekah; for these alone remained of the cities of Judah as fortified cities.

ܦܬܓܡܐ ܕܗܘܐ ܥܠ ܐܪܡܝܐ ܡܢ ܩܕܡ ܡܪܝܐ ܠܡܐܡܪ ܡܢ ܒܬܪ ܕܐܩܝܡ ܡܠܟܐ ܨܕܩܝܐ ܩܝܡܐ ܥܡ ܟܠܗ ܥܡܐ ܕܒܐܘܪܫܠܡ ܕܢܬܩܪܘܢ ܡܚܪ̈ܪܐ
mkhrr' dnthqrwn db'wrshlm em' klh em qym' tsdqy' mlk' d'qym bthr mn lm'mr mry' qdm mn 'rmy' el dhw' pthgm'
The word came to Jeremiah from Yahweh, after King Zedekiah had made a covenant with all the people who were at Jerusalem, to proclaim liberty to them,

ܕܢܫܒܘܩ ܓܒܪ ܥܒܕܗ ܘܓܒܪ ܐܡܬܗ ܥܒܪܝܐ ܘܥܒܪܝܬܐ ܒܢ̈ܝ ܚܐܪ̈ܐ ܕܠܐ ܢܫܥܒܕܘܢ ܓܒܪ ܠܐܚܘܗܝ ܝܗܘܕܝܐ
yhwdy' l'khwhy gbr nshebdwn dl' kh'r' bny webryth' ebry' 'mthh wgbr ebdh gbr dnshbwq
that every man should let his male servant, and every man his female servant, who is a Hebrew or a Hebrewess, go free, that no one should make bondservants of them, of a Jew his brother.

ܘܫܡܥܘ ܟܘܠܗܘܢ ܪ̈ܘܪܒܢܐ ܘܟܠܗ ܥܡܐ ܘܩܒܠܘ ܥܠܝܗܘܢ ܕܢܫܒܘܩ ܓܒܪ ܥܒܕܗ ܘܓܒܪ ܐܡܬܗ ܒܢ̈ܝ ܚܐܪ̈ܐ ܕܠܐ ܢܦܠܚܘܢ ܐܢܘܢ ܬܘܒ ܘܚܪܪܘ ܐܢܘܢ
'nwn wkhrrw thwb 'nwn nplkhwn dl' kh'r' bny 'mthh wgbr ebdh gbr dnshbwq elyhwn wqblw em' wklh rwrbn' kwlhwn wshmew
All the princes and all the people obeyed who had entered into the covenant, that everyone should let his male servant and everyone his female servant go free, that no one should make bondservants of them any more. They obeyed and let them go,

ܘܗܦܟܘ ܡܢ ܒܬܪܟܢ ܘܫܥܒܕܘ ܐܢܘܢ ܠܡܚܪ̈ܪܐ ܘܥܒܕܘ ܐܢܘܢ ܥܒ̈ܕܐ
ebd' 'nwn webdw lmkhrr' 'nwn wshebdw bthrkn mn whpkw
but afterwards they turned, and caused the servants and the handmaids whom they had let go free to return, and brought them into subjection for servants and for handmaids.

ܘܗܘܐ ܦܬܓܡܗ ܕܡܪܝܐ ܥܠ ܐܪܡܝܐ ܠܡܐܡܪ

Therefore Yahweh’s word came to Jeremiah from Yahweh, saying,

ܗܟܢܐ ܐܡܪ ܡܪܝܐ ܐܠܗܐ ܕܐܝܣܪܝܠ ܐܢܐ ܐܩܝܡܬ ܩܝܡܐ ܥܡ ܐ̈ܒܗܝܟܘܢ ܒܝܘܡܐ ܕܐܦܩܬ ܐܢܘܢ ܡܢ ܐܪܥܐ ܕܡܨܪܝܢ ܡܢ ܒܝܬ ܥܒܕܘܬܐ ܠܡܐܡܪ
lm'mr ebdwth' byth mn dmtsryn 're' mn 'nwn d'pqth bywm' 'bhykwn em qym' 'qymth 'n' d'ysryl 'lh' mry' 'mr hkn'
“Yahweh, the God of Israel, says: ‘I made a covenant with your fathers in the day that I brought them out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage, saying:

ܡܢ ܒܬܪ ܫܒܥ ܫ̈ܢܝܢ ܬܫܒܩܘܢ ܓܒܪ ܠܐܚܘܗܝ ܥܒܪܝܐ ܕܢܙܕܒܢ ܠܟ ܘܢܦܠܚܟ ܫܬ ܫ̈ܢܝܢ ܘܬܫܒܩܝܘܗܝ ܒܪ ܚܐܪ̈ܐ ܡܢ ܠܘܬܟ ܘܠܐ ܫܡܥܘܢܝ ܐ̈ܒܗܝܟܘܢ ܘܠܐ ܨܠܘ ܐܕܢܗܘܢ ܠܘܬܝ

At the end of seven years, every man of you shall release his brother who is a Hebrew, who has been sold to you, and has served you six years. You shall let him go free from you. But your fathers didn’t listen to me, and didn’t incline their ear.

ܘܗܦܟܬܘܢ ܐܢܬܘܢ ܝܘܡܢܐ ܘܥܒܕܬܘܢ ܡܕܡ ܕܫܦܝܪ ܒܥܝܢ̈ܝ ܠܡܩܪܐ ܚܐܪܘܬܐ ܓܒܪ ܠܚܒܪܗ ܘܐܩܝܡܬܘܢ ܩܝܡܐ ܩܕܡܝ ܒܒܝܬܐ ܕܐܬܩܪܝ ܫܡܝ ܥܠܘܗܝ

You had now turned, and had done that which is right in my eyes, in every man proclaiming liberty to his neighbor. You had made a covenant before me in the house which is called by my name;

ܘܗܦܟܬܘܢ ܘܛܘܫܬܘܢ ܫܡܝ ܘܐܗܦܟܬܘܢ ܓܒܪ ܥܒܕܗ ܘܓܒܪ ܐܡܬܗ ܕܫܒܩܬܘܢ ܒܢ̈ܝ ܚܐܪ̈ܐ ܠܢܦܫܗܘܢ ܘܟܒܫܬܘܢ ܐܢܘܢ ܕܢܗܘܘܢ ܠܟܘܢ ܥܒ̈ܕܐ ܘܐܡܗ̈ܬܐ
w'mhth' ebd' lkwn dnhwwn 'nwn wkbshthwn lnpshhwn kh'r' bny dshbqthwn 'mthh wgbr ebdh gbr w'hpkthwn shmy wTwshthwn whpkthwn
but you turned and profaned my name, and every man caused his servant and every man his handmaid, whom you had let go free at their pleasure, to return. You brought them into subjection, to be to you for servants and for handmaids.’”

ܡܛܘܠ ܗܢܐ ܗܟܢܐ ܐܡܪ ܡܪܝܐ ܐܠܗܐ ܕܐܝܣܪܝܠ ܐܢܬܘܢ ܠܐ ܫܡܥܬܘܢܢܝ ܠܡܩܪܐ ܚܐܪܘܬܐ ܓܒܪ ܠܚܒܪܗ ܗܐ ܩܪܐ ܐܢܐ ܠܟܘܢ ܚܐܪܘܬܐ ܠܚܪܒܐ ܘܠܟܦܢܐ ܘܠܡܘܬܢܐ ܐܡܪ ܡܪܝܐ ܘܐܬܠܟܘܢ ܠܙܘܥܬܐ ܠܟܠܗܝܢ ܡ̈ܠܟܘܬܐ ܕܐܪܥܐ
d're' mlkwth' lklhyn lzweth' w'thlkwn mry' 'mr wlmwthn' wlkpn' lkhrb' kh'rwth' lkwn 'n' qr' h' lkhbrh gbr kh'rwth' lmqr' shmethwnny l' 'nthwn d'ysryl 'lh' mry' 'mr hkn' hn' mTwl
Therefore Yahweh says: “You have not listened to me, to proclaim liberty, every man to his brother, and every man to his neighbor. Behold, I proclaim to you a liberty,” says Yahweh, “to the sword, to the pestilence, and to the famine. I will make you be tossed back and forth among all the kingdoms of the earth.

ܘܐܬܠ ܠܓܒܪ̈ܐ ܕܥܒܪܘ ܥܠ ܩܝܡܝ ܕܠܐ ܐܫܪܘ ܦܬ̈ܓܡܝ ܩܝܡܐ ܕܐܩܝܡܘ ܩܕܡܝ ܥܓܠܐ ܕܦܣܩܘ ܠܬܪ̈ܝܢ ܘܥܒܪܘ ܒܝܬ ܦ̈ܠܓܘܗܝ
plgwhy byth webrw lthryn dpsqw egl' qdmy d'qymw qym' pthgmy 'shrw dl' qymy el debrw lgbr' w'thl
I will give the men who have transgressed my covenant, who have not performed the words of the covenant which they made before me when they cut the calf in two and passed between its parts:

ܪ̈ܘܪܒܢܐ ܕܝܗܘܕܐ ܘܕܐܘܪܫܠܡ ܘܡܗܝ̈ܡܢܐ ܘܟܗ̈ܢܐ ܘܟܠܗ ܥܡܐ ܕܐܪܥܐ ܕܥܒܪܘ ܒܝܬ ܦܠܓܘ̈ܗܝ ܕܥܓܠܐ

the princes of Judah, the princes of Jerusalem, the eunuchs, the priests, and all the people of the land, who passed between the parts of the calf.

ܘܐܫܠܡ ܐܢܘܢ ܒܐܝܕܐ ܕܒ̈ܥܠܕܒܒܝܗܘܢ ܘܒܐܝܕܐ ܕܐܝܠܝܢ ܕܒܥܝܢ ܢܦܫܗܘܢ ܘܢܗ̈ܘܝܢ ܫ̈ܠܕܝܗܘܢ ܡܐܟܘܠܬܐ ܠܦܪܚܬܐ ܕܫܡܝܐ ܘܠܚܝܘܬܐ ܕܐܪܥܐ
d're' wlkhywth' dshmy' lprkhth' m'kwlth' shldyhwn wnhwyn npshhwn dbeyn d'ylyn wb'yd' dbeldbbyhwn b'yd' 'nwn w'shlm
I will even give them into the hand of their enemies and into the hand of those who seek their life. Their dead bodies will be food for the birds of the sky and for the animals of the earth.

ܘܠܨܕܩܝܐ ܡܠܟܐ ܕܝܗܘܕܐ ܘܠܪ̈ܘܪܒܢܘܗܝ ܐܫܠܡ ܒܐܝܕܐ ܕܒ̈ܥܠܕܒܒܝܗܘܢ ܘܒܐܝܕܐ ܕܐܝܠܝܢ ܕܒܥܝܢ ܢܦܫܗܘܢ ܘܒܝܕ ܚܝܠܗ ܕܡܠܟܐ ܕܒܒܠ ܕܣܠܩܝܢ ܥܠܝܗܘܢ
elyhwn dslqyn dbbl dmlk' khylh wbyd npshhwn dbeyn d'ylyn wb'yd' dbeldbbyhwn b'yd' 'shlm wlrwrbnwhy dyhwd' mlk' wltsdqy'
“I will give Zedekiah king of Judah and his princes into the hands of their enemies, into the hands of those who seek their life and into the hands of the king of Babylon’s army, who has gone away from you.

ܗܐ ܐܢܐ ܦܩܕ ܐܢܐ ܐܡܪ ܡܪܝܐ ܘܐܗܦܟ ܐܢܘܢ ܠܩܪܝܬܐ ܗܕܐ ܘܢܬܟܬܫܘܢ ܥܠܝܗ ܘܢܟܒܫܘܢܗ̇ ܘܢܘܩܕܘܢܗ̇ ܒܢܘܪܐ ܘܠܩܘܪ̈ܝܐ ܕܝܗܘܕܐ ܐܬܠ ܠܚܘܪܒܐ ܡܢ ܒܠܝ ܕܝܬܒ

Behold, I will command,” says Yahweh, “and cause them to return to this city. They will fight against it, take it, and burn it with fire. I will make the cities of Judah a desolation, without inhabitant.”
