ܘܗܘܐ ܒܫܢܬܐ ܗ̇ܝ ܒܪܝܫ ܡܠܟܘܬܗ ܕܨܕܩܝܐ ܡܠܟܐ ܕܝܗܘܕܐ ܒܫܢܬܐ ܐܪܒܝܥܝܬܐ ܒܝܪܚܐ ܕܚܡܫܐ ܐܡܪ ܠܝ ܚܢܢܝܐ ܒܪ ܥܙܘܪ ܢܒܝܐ ܕܓܠܐ ܕܡܢ ܓܒܥܘܢ ܒܒܝܬܗ ܕܡܪܝܐ ܠܥܝܢ ܟܗ̈ܢܐ ܘܠܥܝܢ ܟܠܗ ܥܡܐ

That same year, in the beginning of the reign of Zedekiah king of Judah, in the fourth year, in the fifth month, Hananiah the son of Azzur, the prophet, who was of Gibeon, spoke to me in Yahweh’s house, in the presence of the priests and of all the people, saying,

ܗܟܢܐ ܐܡܪ ܡܪܝܐ ܚܝܠܬܢܐ ܐܠܗܐ ܕܐܝܣܪܝܠ ܬܒܪܬ ܢܝܪܗ ܕܡܠܟܐ ܕܒܒܠ

“Yahweh of Armies, the God of Israel, says, ‘I have broken the yoke of the king of Babylon.

ܡܟܐ ܠܬܪ̈ܬܝܢ ܫ̈ܢܝܢ ܡܗܦܟ ܐܢܐ ܠܐܬܪܐ ܗܢܐ ܟܘܠܗܘܢ ܡܐ̈ܢܐ ܕܒܝܬܗ ܕܡܪܝܐ ܕܢܣܒ ܢܒܘܟܕܢܨܪ ܡܠܟܐ ܕܒܒܠ ܡܢ ܐܬܪܐ ܗܢܐ ܘܐܘܒܠ ܐܢܘܢ ܠܒܒܠ
lbbl 'nwn w'wbl hn' 'thr' mn dbbl mlk' nbwkdntsr dnsb dmry' dbythh m'n' kwlhwn hn' l'thr' 'n' mhpk shnyn lthrthyn mk'
Within two full years I will bring again into this place all the vessels of Yahweh’s house that Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon took away from this place and carried to Babylon.

ܥܡ ܝܘܟܢܝܐ ܒܪ ܝܘܝܩܝܡ ܡܠܟܐ ܕܝܗܘܕܐ ܘܠܟܠܗ̇ ܫܒܝܬܐ ܕܝܗܘܕܐ ܕܐܙܠܘ ܠܒܒܠ ܡܗܦܟ ܐܢܐ ܠܐܬܪܐ ܗܢܐ ܐܡܪ ܡܪܝܐ ܡܛܠ ܕܬܒܪ ܐܢܐ ܢܝܪܗ ܕܡܠܟܐ ܕܒܒܠ

I will bring again to this place Jeconiah the son of Jehoiakim, king of Judah, with all the captives of Judah, who went to Babylon,’ says Yahweh; ‘for I will break the yoke of the king of Babylon.’”

ܘܐܡܪ ܐܪܡܝܐ ܢܒܝܐ ܠܚܢܢܝܐ ܢܒܝܐ ܕܓܠܐ ܠܥܝܢ ܟܗ̈ܢܐ ܘܠܥܝܢ ܟܠܗ ܥܡܐ ܕܩܝܡܝܢ ܒܒܝܬܗ ܕܡܪܝܐ

Then the prophet Jeremiah said to the prophet Hananiah in the presence of the priests, and in the presence of all the people who stood in Yahweh’s house,

ܘܐܡܪ ܐܪܡܝܐ ܐܡܝܢ ܗܟܢܐ ܢܥܒܕ ܡܪܝܐ ܢܩܝܡ ܡܪܝܐ ܦܬ̈ܓܡܐ ܕܐܬܢܒܝܬ ܠܡܗܦܟܘ ܡܐ̈ܢܐ ܕܒܝܬܗ ܕܡܪܝܐ ܘܟܠܗ̇ ܫܒܝܬܐ ܡܢ ܒܒܠ ܠܐܬܪܐ ܗܢܐ
hn' l'thr' bbl mn shbyth' wklh dmry' dbythh m'n' lmhpkw d'thnbyth pthgm' mry' nqym mry' nebd hkn' 'myn 'rmy' w'mr
even the prophet Jeremiah said, “Amen! May Yahweh do so. May Yahweh perform your words which you have prophesied, to bring again the vessels of Yahweh’s house, and all those who are captives, from Babylon to this place.

ܒܪܡ ܫܡܥ ܦܬܓܡܐ ܗܢܐ ܕܐܡܪ ܐܢܐ ܩܕܡܝܟ ܘܩܕܡ ܟܠܗ ܥܡܐ ܗܢܐ

Nevertheless listen now to this word that I speak in your ears, and in the ears of all the people:

ܢܒ̈ܝܐ ܕܗܘܘ ܩܕܡܝ ܘܩܕܡܝܟ ܡܢ ܥܠܡ ܘܐܬܢܒܝܘ ܥܠ ܐܪ̈ܥܬܐ ܣܓܝܐ̈ܬܐ ܘܥܠ ܡ̈ܠܟܘܬܐ ܪ̈ܘܪܒܬܐ ܠܩܪܒܐ ܘܠܒܝܫܬܐ ܘܠܡܘܬܢܐ
wlmwthn' wlbyshth' lqrb' rwrbth' mlkwth' wel sgy'th' 'reth' el w'thnbyw elm mn wqdmyk qdmy dhww nby'
The prophets who have been before me and before you of old prophesied against many countries, and against great kingdoms, of war, of evil, and of pestilence.

ܢܒܝܐ ܕܡܬܢܒܐ ܫܠܡܐ ܡܐ ܕܗܘܐ ܦܬܓܡܗ ܕܢܒܝܐ ܐܬܝܕܥ ܢܒܝܐ ܗ̇ܘ ܕܫܕܪܗ ܡܪܝܐ ܒܩܘܫܬܐ
bqwshth' mry' dshdrh hw nby' 'thyde dnby' pthgmh dhw' m' shlm' dmthnb' nby'
As for the prophet who prophesies of peace, when the word of the prophet happens, then the prophet will be known, that Yahweh has truly sent him.”

ܘܢܣܒ ܚܢܢܝܐ ܢܒܝܐ ܕܓܠܐ ܚ̈ܢܩܐ ܡܢ ܨܘܪܗ ܕܐܪܡܝܐ ܢܒܝܐ ܘܬܒܪ ܐܢܘܢ

Then Hananiah the prophet took the bar from off the prophet Jeremiah’s neck, and broke it.

ܘܐܡܪ ܚܢܢܝܐ ܠܥܝܢ ܟܠܗ ܥܡܐ ܗܟܢܐ ܐܡܪ ܡܪܝܐ ܗܟܢܐ ܐܬܒܪܝܘܗܝ ܠܢܝܪܗ ܕܢܒܘܟܕܢܨܪ ܡܠܟܐ ܕܒܒܠ ܡܟܐ ܠܬܪ̈ܬܝܢ ܫ̈ܢܝܢ ܡܢ ܨܘܪܐ ܕܟܠܗܘܢ ܥܡ̈ܡܐ ܘܐܙܠ ܐܪܡܝܐ ܢܒܝܐ ܠܐܘܪܚܗ

Hananiah spoke in the presence of all the people, saying, “Yahweh says: ‘Even so I will break the yoke of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon from off the neck of all the nations within two full years.’” Then the prophet Jeremiah went his way.

ܘܗܘܐ ܦܬܓܡܗ ܕܡܪܝܐ ܥܠ ܐܪܡܝܐ ܢܒܝܐ ܡܢ ܒܬܪ ܕܬܒܪ ܚܢܢܝܐ ܢܒܝܐ ܕܓܠܐ ܚܢ̈ܩܐ ܡܢ ܨܘܪܗ ܕܐܪܡܝܐ ܢܒܝܐ
nby' d'rmy' tswrh mn khnq' dgl' nby' khnny' dthbr bthr mn nby' 'rmy' el dmry' pthgmh whw'
Then Yahweh’s word came to Jeremiah, after Hananiah the prophet had broken the bar from off the neck of the prophet Jeremiah, saying,

ܙܠ ܘܐܡܪ ܠܚܢܢܝܐ ܢܒܝܐ ܕܓܠܐ ܗܟܢܐ ܐܡܪ ܡܪܝܐ ܚ̈ܢܩܐ ܕܩܝܣܐ ܕܬܒܪܬ ܥܒܕ ܚܠܦܝܗܘܢ ܢܝܪܐ ܕܦܪܙܠܐ

“Go, and tell Hananiah, saying, ‘Yahweh says, “You have broken the bars of wood, but you have made in their place bars of iron.”

ܡܛܘܠ ܕܗܟܢܐ ܐܡܪ ܡܪܝܐ ܨܒܐܘܬ ܐܠܗܐ ܕܐܝܣܪܝܠ ܢܝܪܐ ܕܦܪܙܠܐ ܝܗܒܬ ܥܠ ܨܘܪܐ ܕܟܠܗܘܢ ܥܡ̈ܡܐ ܗܠܝܢ ܠܡܦܠܚ ܠܢܒܘܟܕܢܨܪ ܡܠܟܐ ܕܒܒܠ ܘܢܦܠܚܘܢܗ ܘܐܦ ܚܝܘܬܐ ܕܕܒܪܐ ܝܗܒܬ ܠܗ ܠܡܦܠܚܗ

For Yahweh of Armies, the God of Israel says, “I have put a yoke of iron on the neck of all these nations, that they may serve Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon; and they will serve him. I have also given him the animals of the field.”’”

ܘܐܡܪ ܐܪܡܝܐ ܢܒܝܐ ܠܚܢܢܝܐ ܢܒܝܐ ܕܓܠܐ ܫܡܥ ܚܢܢܝܐ ܠܐ ܫܕܪܟ ܡܪܝܐ ܘܐܢܬ ܐܬܟܠܬܝܗܝ ܠܥܡܐ ܗܢܐ ܥܠ ܫܘܩܪܐ

Then the prophet Jeremiah said to Hananiah the prophet, “Listen, Hananiah! Yahweh has not sent you, but you make this people trust in a lie.

ܡܛܠ ܗܢܐ ܗܟܢܐ ܐܡܪ ܡܪܝܐ ܗܐ ܫܕܐ ܐܢܐ ܠܟ ܡܢ ܐ̈ܦܝ ܐܪܥܐ ܫܢܬܐ ܗܕܐ ܡܐܬ ܐܢܬ ܕܥܘܠܐ ܡܠܠܬ ܩܕܡ ܡܪܝܐ

Therefore Yahweh says, ‘Behold, I will send you away from off the surface of the earth. This year you will die, because you have spoken rebellion against Yahweh.’”
