ܒܪܝܫ ܡܠܟܘܬܗ ܕܨܕܩܝܐ ܒܪ ܝܘܫܝܐ ܡܠܟܐ ܕܝܗܘܕܐ ܗܘܐ ܦܬܓܡܐ ܗܢܐ ܥܠ ܐܪܡܝܐ ܡܢ ܩܕܡ ܡܪܝܐ ܘܐܡܪ
brysh mlkwthh dtsdqy' br ywshy' mlk' dyhwd' hw' pthgm' hn' el 'rmy' mn qdm mry' w'mr
In the beginning of the reign of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah, king of Judah, this word came to Jeremiah from Yahweh, saying,

ܗܟܢܐ ܐܡܪ ܠܝ ܡܪܝܐ ܥܒܕ ܠܟ ܢܝܪܐ ܘܚ̈ܢܩܐ ܘܐܪܡܐ ܐܢܘܢ ܒܨܘܪܟ

Yahweh says to me: “Make bonds and bars, and put them on your neck.

ܘܫܕܪ ܐܢܘܢ ܠܡܠܟܐ ܕܐܕܘܡ ܘܠܡܠܟܐ ܕܡܘܐܒ ܘܠܡܠܟܐ ܕܒܢ̈ܝ ܥܡܘܢ ܘܠܡܠܟܐ ܕܨܘܪ ܘܠܡܠܟܐ ܕܨܝܕܢ ܒܐܝܕܐ ܕܐܝܙ̈ܓܕܐ ܕܐܬܝܢ ܠܐܘܪܫܠܡ ܠܘܬ ܨܕܩܝܐ ܡܠܟܐ ܕܝܗܘܕܐ

Then send them to the king of Edom, to the king of Moab, to the king of the children of Ammon, to the king of Tyre, and to the king of Sidon, by the hand of the messengers who come to Jerusalem to Zedekiah king of Judah.

ܘܦܩܕ ܐܢܘܢ ܕܢܐܡܪܘܢ ܠܡܪ̈ܝܗܘܢ ܗܟܢܐ ܐܡܪ ܡܪܝܐ ܚܝܠܬܢܐ ܐܠܗܐ ܕܐܝܣܪܝܠ ܗܟܢܐ ܬܐܡܪܘܢ ܠܡܪ̈ܝܟܘܢ

Give them a command to their masters, saying, ‘Yahweh of Armies, the God of Israel says, “You shall tell your masters:

ܐܢܐ ܥܒܕܬ ܐܪܥܐ ܘܒܢܝܢܫ̈ܐ ܘܒܥܝܪܐ ܕܥܠ ܐ̈ܦܝ ܐܪܥܐ ܒܚܝܠܝ ܪܒܐ ܘܒܕܪܥܝ ܪܡܐ ܘܝܗܒܬܗ̇ ܠܡ̇ܢ ܕܫܦܪ ܒܥܝܢ̈ܝ
'n' ebdth 're' wbnynsh' wbeyr' del 'py 're' bkhyly rb' wbdrey rm' wyhbthh lmn dshpr beyny
‘I have made the earth, the men, and the animals that are on the surface of the earth by my great power and by my outstretched arm. I give it to whom it seems right to me.

ܘܗܫܐ ܐܢܐ ܝܗܒܬ ܟܠܗܝܢ ܐܪ̈ܥܬܐ ܗܠܝܢ ܠܡܦܠܚ ܠܢܒܘܟܕܢܨܪ ܡܠܟܐ ܕܒܒܠ ܥܒܕܝ ܘܢܦܠܚܘܢܗ ܐܦ ܚܝܘܬܐ ܕܕܒܪܐ ܝܗܒܬ ܠܗ ܠܡܦܠܚܗ

Now I have given all these lands into the hand of Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon, my servant. I have also given the animals of the field to him to serve him.

ܘܢܦܠܚܘܢܗ ܥܡ̈ܡܐ ܠܗ ܘܠܒܪܗ ܘܠܒܪ ܒܪܗ ܥܕܡܐ ܕܢܡܛܐ ܙܒܢܐ ܕܐܪܥܗ ܐܦ ܕܝܠܗ ܘܢܦܠܚܘܢܗ ܥܡ̈ܡܐ ܣܓ̈ܝܐܐ ܘܡ̈ܠܟܐ ܪ̈ܘܪܒܐ

All the nations will serve him, his son, and his son’s son, until the time of his own land comes. Then many nations and great kings will make him their bondservant.

ܘܥܡܐ ܘܡܠܟܘܬܐ ܕܠܐ ܢܦܠܚܘܢܗ ܠܢܒܘܟܕܢܨܪ ܡܠܟܐ ܕܒܒܠ ܘܡ̇ܢ ܕܠܐ ܢܥܠ ܨܘܪܗ ܒܢܝܪܗ ܕܡܠܟܐ ܕܒܒܠ ܒܚܪܒܐ ܘܒܟܦܢܐ ܘܒܡܘܬܢܐ ܐܦܩܘܕ ܥܠ ܥܡܐ ܗܘ ܐܡܪ ܡܪܝܐ ܥܕܡܐ ܕܐܫܠܡ ܐܢܘܢ ܒܐܝܕܗ

“‘“‘It will happen that I will punish the nation and the kingdom which will not serve the same Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, and that will not put their neck under the yoke of the king of Babylon,’ says Yahweh, ‘with the sword, with famine, and with pestilence, until I have consumed them by his hand.

ܘܐܢܬܘܢ ܠܐ ܬܫܡܥܘܢ ܠܢܒܝ̈ܝܟܘܢ ܕܓ̈ܠܐ ܘܠܩܨ̈ܘܡܝܟܘܢ ܘܠܚ̈ܠܡܝܟܘܢ ܘܠܢܚ̈ܫܝܟܘܢ ܘܠܚܪ̈ܫܝܟܘܢ ܕܗܢܘܢ ܐܡܪܝܢ ܠܟܘܢ ܠܐ ܬܦܠܚܘܢ ܠܡܠܟܐ ܕܒܒܠ

But as for you, don’t listen to your prophets, to your diviners, to your dreams, to your soothsayers, or to your sorcerers, who speak to you, saying, “You shall not serve the king of Babylon;”

ܡܛܠ ܕܫܘܩܪܐ ܗܢܘܢ ܡܬܢܒܝܢ ܠܟܘܢ ܕܐܕܚܘܩܟܘܢ ܡܢ ܐܪܥܟܘܢ ܕܐܕܚܘܩܟܘܢ ܘܬܐܒܕܘܢ
mTl dshwqr' hnwn mthnbyn lkwn d'dkhwqkwn mn 'rekwn d'dkhwqkwn wth'bdwn
for they prophesy a lie to you, to remove you far from your land, so that I would drive you out, and you would perish.

ܘܥܡܐ ܕܢܥܠ ܨܘܪܗ ܒܢܝܪܗ ܕܡܠܟܐ ܕܒܒܠ ܘܢܦܠܚܝܘܗܝ ܢܫܒܩܝܘܗܝ ܒܐܪܥܗ ܐܡܪ ܡܪܝܐ ܘܢܦܠܚܝܗ ܘܢܬܒ ܒܗ̇
wem' dnel tswrh bnyrh dmlk' dbbl wnplkhywhy nshbqywhy b'reh 'mr mry' wnplkhyh wnthb bh
But the nation that brings their neck under the yoke of the king of Babylon and serves him, that nation I will let remain in their own land,’ says Yahweh; ‘and they will till it and dwell in it.’”’”

ܘܠܨܕܩܝܐ ܡܠܟܐ ܕܝܗܘܕܐ ܐܡܪܬ ܐܝܟ ܟܠܗܘܢ ܦܬ̈ܓܡܐ ܗܠܝܢ ܘܐܡܪܬ ܐܥܠܘ ܨܘܪܟܘܢ ܒܢܝܪܗ ܕܡܠܟܐ ܕܒܒܠ ܘܦܘܠܚܘܗܝ ܠܗ ܘܠܥܡܗ ܘܚܝܘ

I spoke to Zedekiah king of Judah according to all these words, saying, “Bring your necks under the yoke of the king of Babylon, and serve him and his people, and live.

ܘܠܐ ܬܡܘܬܘܢ ܐܢܬ ܘܥܡܟ ܒܚܪܒܐ ܘܒܟܦܢܐ ܘܒܡܘܬܢܐ ܐܝܟ ܕܐܡܪ ܡܪܝܐ ܥܠ ܥܡܐ ܕܠܐ ܢܦܠܚܘܢ ܠܡܠܟܐ ܕܒܒܠ

Why will you die, you and your people, by the sword, by the famine, and by the pestilence, as Yahweh has spoken concerning the nation that will not serve the king of Babylon?

ܘܐܢܬܘܢ ܠܐ ܬܫܡܥܘܢ ܠܦܬ̈ܓܡܐ ܕܢܒ̈ܝܐ ܕ̈ܓܠܐ ܕܐܡܪܝܢ ܠܟܘܢ ܠܐ ܬܦܠܚܘܢ ܠܡܠܟܐ ܕܒܒܠ ܡܛܠ ܕܫܘܩܪܐ ܗܢܘܢ ܡܬܢܒܝܢ ܠܟܘܢ

Don’t listen to the words of the prophets who speak to you, saying, ‘You shall not serve the king of Babylon;’ for they prophesy a lie to you.

ܠܐ ܫܕܪܬ ܐܢܘܢ ܐܡܪ ܡܪܝܐ ܘܗܢܘܢ ܡܬܢܒܝܢ ܒܫܡܝ ܒܫܘܩܪܐ ܕܐܕܚܘܩܟܘܢ ܘܬܐܒܕܘܢ ܐܢܬܘܢ ܘܢܒ̈ܝܐ ܕܡܬܢܒܝܢ ܠܟܘܢ
l' shdrth 'nwn 'mr mry' whnwn mthnbyn bshmy bshwqr' d'dkhwqkwn wth'bdwn 'nthwn wnby' dmthnbyn lkwn
For I have not sent them,” says Yahweh, “but they prophesy falsely in my name; that I may drive you out, and that you may perish, you, and the prophets who prophesy to you.”

ܘܠܟܗ̈ܢܐ ܘܠܟܠܗ ܥܡܐ ܗܢܐ ܗܟܢܐ ܐܡܪ ܡܪܝܐ ܠܐ ܬܫܡܥܘܢ ܠܦܬ̈ܓܡܐ ܕܢܒܝ̈ܝܟܘܢ ܕܡܬܢܒܝܢ ܠܟܘܢ ܘܐܡܪܝܢ ܗܐ ܡܐ̈ܢܐ ܕܒܝܬܗ ܕܡܪܝܐ ܗܦܟܝܢ ܡܢ ܒܒܠ ܒܥܓܠ ܡܛܠ ܕܫܘܩܪܐ ܗܢܘܢ ܡܬܢܒܝܢ ܠܟܘܢ

Also I spoke to the priests and to all this people, saying, Yahweh says, “Don’t listen to the words of your prophets who prophesy to you, saying, ‘Behold, the vessels of Yahweh’s house will now shortly be brought again from Babylon;’ for they prophesy a lie to you.

ܠܐ ܬܫܡܥܘܢ ܐܢܘܢ ܐܡܪ ܡܪܝܐ ܦܠܘܚܘ ܠܡܠܟܐ ܕܒܒܠ ܘܚܝܘ ܘܠܐ ܬܗܘܐ ܩܪܝܬܐ ܗܕܐ ܚܪܒܬܐ
l' thshmewn 'nwn 'mr mry' plwkhw lmlk' dbbl wkhyw wl' thhw' qryth' hd' khrbth'
Don’t listen to them. Serve the king of Babylon, and live. Why should this city become a desolation?

ܘܐܢ ܢܒ̈ܝܐ ܐܢܘܢ ܘܐܝܬ ܦܬܓܡܗ ܕܡܪܝܐ ܒܗܘܢ ܢܒܥܘܢ ܡܢ ܡܪܝܐ ܚܝܠܬܢܐ ܕܠܐ ܢܐܙܠܘܢ ܡܐ̈ܢܐ ܕܐܫܬܚܪܘ ܒܒܝܬܗ ܕܡܪܝܐ ܘܒܒܝܬ ܡܠܟܐ ܕܝܗܘܕܐ ܘܒܐܘܪܫܠܡ ܠܒܒܠ

But if they are prophets, and if Yahweh’s word is with them, let them now make intercession to Yahweh of Armies, that the vessels which are left in Yahweh’s house, in the house of the king of Judah, and at Jerusalem, don’t go to Babylon.

ܡܛܘܠ ܕܗܟܢܐ ܐܡܪ ܡܪܝܐ ܚܝܠܬܢܐ ܐܠܗܐ ܕܐܝܣܪܝܠ ܥܠ ܥܡ̈ܘܕܐ ܘܥܠ ܝܡܐ ܘܥܠ ܡܓ̈ܣܐ ܘܥܠ ܫܪܟܐ ܕܡܐ̈ܢܐ ܕܐܫܬܚܪܘ ܒܩܪܝܬܐ ܗܕܐ
mTwl dhkn' 'mr mry' khylthn' 'lh' d'ysryl el emwd' wel ym' wel mgs' wel shrk' dm'n' d'shthkhrw bqryth' hd'
For Yahweh of Armies says concerning the pillars, concerning the sea, concerning the bases, and concerning the rest of the vessels that are left in this city,

ܕܠܐ ܢܣܒ ܐܢܘܢ ܢܒܘܟܕܢܨܪ ܡܠܟܐ ܕܒܒܠ ܟܕ ܫܒܐ ܠܝܘܟܢܝܐ ܒܪ ܝܘܝܩܝܡ ܡܠܟܐ ܕܝܗܘܕܐ ܡܢ ܐܘܪܫܠܡ ܠܒܒܠ ܘܠܟܠܗܘܢ ܪ̈ܘܪܒܢܐ ܕܝܗܘܕܐ ܘܕܐܘܪܫܠܡ

which Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon didn’t take when he carried away captive Jeconiah the son of Jehoiakim, king of Judah, from Jerusalem to Babylon, and all the nobles of Judah and Jerusalem—

ܗܟܢܐ ܐܡܪ ܡܪܝܐ ܚܝܠܬܢܐ ܐܠܗܐ ܕܐܝܣܪܝܠ ܥܠ ܡܐ̈ܢܐ ܕܐܫܬܚܪܘ ܒܒܝܬܗ ܕܡܪܝܐ ܘܒܒܝܬ ܡܠܟܐ ܕܝܗܘܕܐ ܘܒܐܘܪܫܠܡ

yes, Yahweh of Armies, the God of Israel, says concerning the vessels that are left in Yahweh’s house, and in the house of the king of Judah, and at Jerusalem:

ܠܒܒܠ ܢܐܙܠܘܢ ܘܬܡܢ ܢܗܘܘܢ ܥܕܡܐ ܠܝܘܡܐ ܕܐܦܩܘܕ ܐܢܘܢ ܐܡܪ ܡܪܝܐ ܘܐܣܩ ܐܢܘܢ ܘܐܗܦܟ ܐܢܘܢ ܠܐܬܪܐ ܗܢܐ
lbbl n'zlwn wthmn nhwwn edm' lywm' d'pqwd 'nwn 'mr mry' w'sq 'nwn w'hpk 'nwn l'thr' hn'
‘They will be carried to Babylon, and there they will be, until the day that I visit them,’ says Yahweh; ‘then I will bring them up, and restore them to this place.’”
