The word that came to Jeremiah concerning all the people of Judah, in the fourth year of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah, king of Judah (this was the first year of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon),

which Jeremiah the prophet spoke to all the people of Judah, and to all the inhabitants of Jerusalem:

ܡܢ ܬܠܬܥܣܪܐ ܫ̈ܢܝܢ ܠܝܘܫܝܐ ܒܪ ܐܡܘܢ ܡܠܟܐ ܕܝܗܘܕܐ ܘܥܕܡܐ ܠܝܘܡܐ ܗܢܐ ܗܐ ܥܣܪ̈ܝܢ ܘܬܠܬ ܫ̈ܢܝܢ ܗܘܐ ܥܠܝ ܦܬܓܡܗ ܕܡܪܝܐ ܘܐܡܪܬ ܠܟܘܢ ܩܕܡܬ ܟܠ ܝܘܡ ܘܐܡܪܬ ܘܠܐ ܫܡܥܬܘܢ

From the thirteenth year of Josiah the son of Amon, king of Judah, even to this day, these twenty-three years, Yahweh’s word has come to me, and I have spoken to you, rising up early and speaking; but you have not listened.

ܘܫܕܪ ܡܪܝܐ ܠܘܬܟܘܢ ܟܠܗܘܢ ܥܒ̈ܕܘܗܝ ܢܒ̈ܝܐ ܩܕܡ ܘܫܕܪ ܘܠܐ ܫܡܥܬܘܢ ܘܠܐ ܐܪܟܢܬܘܢ ܐܕܢܟܘܢ ܠܡܫܡܥ
lmshme 'dnkwn 'rknthwn wl' shmethwn wl' wshdr qdm nby' ebdwhy klhwn lwthkwn mry' wshdr
Yahweh has sent to you all his servants the prophets, rising up early and sending them (but you have not listened or inclined your ear to hear),

ܘܠܡܐܡܪ ܬܘܒܘ ܓܒܪ ܡܢ ܐܘܪܚܗ ܒܝܫܬܐ ܘܡܢ ܒܝܫܘܬ ܥܒ̈ܕܝܟܘܢ ܘܬܒܘ ܒܐܪܥܐ ܕܝܗܒ ܡܪܝܐ ܠܟܘܢ ܘܠܐ̈ܒܗܝܟܘܢ ܡܢ ܥܠܡ ܘܥܕܡܐ ܠܥܠܡ
lelm wedm' elm mn wl'bhykwn lkwn mry' dyhb b're' wthbw ebdykwn byshwth wmn byshth' 'wrkhh mn gbr thwbw wlm'mr
saying, “Return now everyone from his evil way, and from the evil of your doings, and dwell in the land that Yahweh has given to you and to your fathers, from of old and even forever more.

ܘܠܐ ܬܐܙܠܘܢ ܒܬܪ ܐ̈ܠܗܐ ܐܚܪ̈ܢܐ ܠܡܦܠܚ ܐܢܘܢ ܘܠܡܣܓܕ ܠܗܘܢ ܘܠܐ ܬܪܓܙܘܢܢܝ ܒܥܒܕ ܐ̈ܝܕܝܟܘܢ ܕܠܐ ܐܒܐܫ ܠܟܘܢ
lkwn 'b'sh dl' 'ydykwn bebd thrgzwnny wl' lhwn wlmsgd 'nwn lmplkh 'khrn' 'lh' bthr th'zlwn wl'
Don’t go after other gods to serve them or worship them, and don’t provoke me to anger with the work of your hands; then I will do you no harm.”

ܘܠܐ ܫܡܥܬܘܢܢܝ ܐܡܪ ܡܪܝܐ ܘܐܪܓܙܬܘܢܢܝ ܒܥܒܕ ܐ̈ܝܕܝܟܘܢ ܕܢܒܐܫ ܠܟܘܢ
lkwn dnb'sh 'ydykwn bebd w'rgzthwnny mry' 'mr shmethwnny wl'
“Yet you have not listened to me,” says Yahweh, “that you may provoke me to anger with the work of your hands to your own hurt.”

ܡܛܠ ܗܢܐ ܗܟܢܐ ܐܡܪ ܡܪܝܐ ܨܒܐܘܬ ܥܠ ܕܠܐ ܫܡܥܬܘܢ ܦܬ̈ܓܡܝ

Therefore Yahweh of Armies says: “Because you have not heard my words,

ܗܐ ܡܫܕܪ ܐܢܐ ܘܕܒܪ ܐܢܐ ܠܟܠܗܝܢ ܫܪ̈ܒܬܐ ܕܡ̈ܠܟܘܬܐ ܕܓܪܒܝܐ ܐܡܪ ܡܪܝܐ ܘܠܢܒܘܟܕܢܨܪ ܡܠܟܐ ܕܒܒܠ ܥܒܕܝ ܘܐܝܬܐ ܐܢܘܢ ܥܠ ܐܪܥܐ ܗܕܐ ܘܥܠ ܥܡܘܪ̈ܝܗ̇ ܘܥܠ ܥܡ̈ܡܐ ܗܠܝܢ ܕܒܚ̈ܕܪܝܗ̇ ܘܐܚܪܘܒ ܐܢܘܢ ܘܐܥܒܕ ܐܢܘܢ ܠܬܡܗܐ ܘܠܡܫܪܘܩܝܬܐ ܘܠܚܘܪܒܐ ܠܥܠܡ

behold, I will send and take all the families of the north,” says Yahweh, “and I will send to Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon, my servant, and will bring them against this land, and against its inhabitants, and against all these nations around. I will utterly destroy them, and make them an astonishment, and a hissing, and perpetual desolations.

ܘܐܘܒܕ ܡܢܗܘܢ ܩܠܐ ܕܕܝܨܐ ܘܩܠܐ ܕܚܕܘܬܐ ܩܠܐ ܕܚܬܢܐ ܘܩܠܐ ܕܟܠܬܐ ܩܠܐ ܕܪܚܝܐ ܘܢܘܗܪܐ ܕܫܪܓܐ

Moreover I will take from them the voice of mirth and the voice of gladness, the voice of the bridegroom and the voice of the bride, the sound of the millstones, and the light of the lamp.

ܘܬܗܘܐ ܐܪܥܐ ܗܕܐ ܟܘܠܗ̇ ܠܚܘܪܒܐ ܘܠܬܡܗܐ ܘܢܦܠܚܘܢ ܥܡ̈ܡܐ ܗܠܝܢ ܠܡܠܟܐ ܕܒܒܠ ܫܒܥܝܢ ܫ̈ܢܝܢ
shnyn shbeyn dbbl lmlk' hlyn emm' wnplkhwn wlthmh' lkhwrb' kwlh hd' 're' wthhw'
This whole land will be a desolation, and an astonishment; and these nations will serve the king of Babylon seventy years.

ܘܡܐ ܕܫܠܡ ܫܒܥܝܢ ܫ̈ܢܝܢ ܐܦܩܘܕ ܥܠ ܡܠܟܐ ܕܒܒܠ ܘܥܠ ܥܡܗ ܚ̈ܘܒܝܗܘܢ ܐܡܪ ܡܪܝܐ ܘܥܠ ܐܪܥܐ ܕܟ̈ܠܕܝܐ ܘܐܥܒܕܝܗ̇ ܠܬܡܗܐ ܠܥܠܡ
lelm lthmh' w'ebdyh dkldy' 're' wel mry' 'mr khwbyhwn emh wel dbbl mlk' el 'pqwd shnyn shbeyn dshlm wm'
“It will happen, when seventy years are accomplished, that I will punish the king of Babylon and that nation,” says Yahweh, “for their iniquity. I will make the land of the Chaldeans desolate forever.

ܘܐܝܬܐ ܥܠ ܐܪܥܐ ܗ̇ܝ ܟܠܗܘܢ ܦܬ̈ܓܡܐ ܕܐܡܪܬ ܥܠܝܗ ܟܠ ܡܕܡ ܕܟܬܝܒ ܒܣܦܪܐ ܗܢܐ ܕܐܬܢܒܝ ܐܪܡܝܐ ܥܠ ܟܠܗܘܢ ܥܡ̈ܡܐ
emm' klhwn el 'rmy' d'thnby hn' bspr' dkthyb mdm kl elyh d'mrth pthgm' klhwn hy 're' el w'yth'
I will bring on that land all my words which I have pronounced against it, even all that is written in this book, which Jeremiah has prophesied against all the nations.

ܡܛܠ ܕܫܥܒܕܘ ܐܢܘܢ ܐܦ ܠܗܘܢ ܥܡ̈ܡܐ ܣܓ̈ܝܐܐ ܘܡ̈ܠܟܐ ܪ̈ܘܪܒܐ ܘܐܦܪܘܥ ܐܢܘܢ ܐܝܟ ܦܥܠܗܘܢ ܘܐܝܟ ܥܒܕܐ ܕܐ̈ܝܕܝܗܘܢ
d'ydyhwn ebd' w'yk pelhwn 'yk 'nwn w'prwe rwrb' wmlk' sgy'' emm' lhwn 'p 'nwn dshebdw mTl
For many nations and great kings will make bondservants of them, even of them. I will recompense them according to their deeds, and according to the work of their hands.”

ܡܛܠ ܕܗܟܢܐ ܐܡܪ ܡܪܝܐ ܚܝܠܬܢܐ ܐܠܗܐ ܕܐܝܣܪܝܠ ܣܒ ܟܣܐ ܕܚܡܪܐ ܕܚܡܬܐ ܗܕܐ ܡܢ ܐܝܕܝ ܘܐܫܩܝܗܝ ܠܟܠܗܘܢ ܥܡ̈ܡܐ ܐܝܠܝܢ ܕܡܫܕܪ ܐܢܐ ܠܟ ܥܠܝܗܘܢ
elyhwn lk 'n' dmshdr 'ylyn emm' lklhwn w'shqyhy 'ydy mn hd' dkhmth' dkhmr' ks' sb d'ysryl 'lh' khylthn' mry' 'mr dhkn' mTl
For Yahweh, the God of Israel, says to me: “Take this cup of the wine of wrath from my hand, and cause all the nations to whom I send you to drink it.

ܢܫܬܘܢ ܘܢܬܘܪܘܢ ܘܢܬܛܪܦܘܢ ܡܢ ܩܕܡ ܚܪܒܐ ܕܡܫܕܪ ܐܢܐ ܒܝܢܬܗܘܢ
bynthhwn 'n' dmshdr khrb' qdm mn wnthTrpwn wnthwrwn nshthwn
They will drink, and reel back and forth, and be insane, because of the sword that I will send among them.”

ܘܢܣܒܬ ܟܣܐ ܡܢ ܐܝܕܗ ܕܡܪܝܐ ܘܐܫܩܝܬ ܠܟܠܗܘܢ ܥܡ̈ܡܐ ܕܫܕܪܢܝ ܡܪܝܐ ܥܠܝܗܘܢ

Then I took the cup at Yahweh’s hand, and made all the nations to drink, to whom Yahweh had sent me:

ܠܐܘܪܫܠܡ ܘܠܩܘܪ̈ܝܐ ܕܝܗܘܕܐ ܘܠܡ̈ܠܟܝܗ̇ ܘܠܪ̈ܘܪܒܢܝܗ̇ ܠܡܥܒܕ ܐܢܘܢ ܠܚܘܪܒܐ ܘܠܬܡܗܐ ܘܠܡܫܪܘܩܝܬܐ ܥܕܡܐ ܠܝܘܡܢܐ
lywmn' edm' wlmshrwqyth' wlthmh' lkhwrb' 'nwn lmebd wlrwrbnyh wlmlkyh dyhwd' wlqwry' l'wrshlm
Jerusalem, and the cities of Judah, with its kings and its princes, to make them a desolation, an astonishment, a hissing, and a curse, as it is today;

ܠܦܪܥܘܢ ܡܠܟܐ ܕܡܨܪܝܢ ܘܠܟܠܗܘܢ ܥܒ̈ܕܘܗܝ ܘܠܪ̈ܘܪܒܢܘܗܝ ܘܠܟܠܗ ܥܡܗ

Pharaoh king of Egypt, with his servants, his princes, and all his people;

ܘܠܟܠܗܘܢ ܬܚ̈ܘܡܘܗܝ ܘܠܟܠܗܘܢ ܡ̈ܠܟܐ ܕܐܪܥܐ ܕܥܘܨ ܘܠܟܠܗܘܢ ܡ̈ܠܟܐ ܕܐܪܥܐ ܕܦܠܫܬ̈ܝܐ ܘܠܐܫܩܠܘܢ ܘܠܥܐܙܐ ܘܠܥܩܪܘܢ ܘܠܫܪܟܐ ܕܐܫܕܘܕ
d'shdwd wlshrk' wleqrwn wle'z' wl'shqlwn dplshthy' d're' mlk' wlklhwn dewts d're' mlk' wlklhwn thkhwmwhy wlklhwn
and all the mixed people, and all the kings of the land of Uz, all the kings of the Philistines, Ashkelon, Gaza, Ekron, and the remnant of Ashdod;

ܘܠܟܠܗܘܢ ܡ̈ܠܟܐ ܕܨܘܪ ܘܠܟܠܗܘܢ ܡ̈ܠܟܐ ܕܨ̈ܝܕܢ ܘܠܡ̈ܠܟܐ ܕܓܙܪ̈ܬܐ ܕܒܥܒܪܐ ܕܝܡܐ
dym' dbebr' dgzrth' wlmlk' dtsydn mlk' wlklhwn dtswr mlk' wlklhwn
and all the kings of Tyre, all the kings of Sidon, and the kings of the isle which is beyond the sea;

ܘܠܕܪܢ ܘܠܬܝܡܢܐ ܘܠܒܘܙ ܘܠܟܠܗܘܢ ܩܨܝ̈ܨܝ ܦܐܬܐ
p'th' qtsytsy wlklhwn wlbwz wlthymn' wldrn
Dedan, Tema, Buz, and all who have the corners of their beard cut off;

ܘܠܟܠܗܘܢ ܡ̈ܠܟܐ ܕܡܬܚܡܝܢ ܚܕ ܥܡ ܚܕ ܘܠܟܠܗܘܢ ܡ̈ܠܟܐ ܕܥܪ̈ܒܝܐ ܕܫܪܝܢ ܒܡܕܒܪܐ
bmdbr' dshryn derby' mlk' wlklhwn khd em khd dmthkhmyn mlk' wlklhwn
and all the kings of Arabia, all the kings of the mixed people who dwell in the wilderness;

ܘܠܟܠܗܘܢ ܡ̈ܠܟܐ ܕܙܡܪܢ ܘܠܟܠܗܘܢ ܡ̈ܠܟܐ ܕܥܝܠܡ ܘܠܟܠܗܘܢ ܡ̈ܠܟܐ ܕܡܕܝ
dmdy mlk' wlklhwn deylm mlk' wlklhwn dzmrn mlk' wlklhwn
and all the kings of Zimri, all the kings of Elam, and all the kings of the Medes;

ܘܠܟܠܗܘܢ ܡ̈ܠܟܐ ܕܓܪܒܝܐ ܕܪ̈ܚܝܩܝܢ ܘܕܩܪ̈ܝܒܝܢ ܓܒܪ ܠܚܒܪܗ ܘܠܟܠܗܝܢ ܡ̈ܠܟܘܬܐ ܕܐܝܬ ܥܠ ܐ̈ܦܝ ܐܪܥܐ ܟܠܗ ܘܡܠܟܐ ܐܪܫܟܝܐ ܢܫܬܐ ܒܬܪܗܘܢ
bthrhwn nshth' 'rshky' wmlk' klh 're' 'py el d'yth mlkwth' wlklhyn lkhbrh gbr wdqrybyn drkhyqyn dgrby' mlk' wlklhwn
and all the kings of the north, far and near, one with another; and all the kingdoms of the world, which are on the surface of the earth. The king of Sheshach will drink after them.

ܘܐܡܪ ܠܗܘܢ ܗܟܢܐ ܐܡܪ ܡܪܝܐ ܚܝܠܬܢܐ ܐܠܗܐ ܕܐܝܣܪܝܠ ܐܫܬܘ ܘܪܘܘ ܘܐܬܛܪܦܘ ܘܦܠܘ ܘܠܐ ܬܩܘܡܘܢ ܡܢ ܩܕܡ ܚܪܒܐ ܕܡܫܕܪ ܐܢܐ ܒܝܢܬܟܘܢ
bynthkwn 'n' dmshdr khrb' qdm mn thqwmwn wl' wplw w'thTrpw wrww 'shthw d'ysryl 'lh' khylthn' mry' 'mr hkn' lhwn w'mr
“You shall tell them, ‘Yahweh of Armies, the God of Israel says: “Drink, and be drunk, vomit, fall, and rise no more, because of the sword which I will send among you.”’

ܘܐܢ ܠܐ ܢܨܒܘܢ ܠܡܣܒ ܟܣܐ ܡܢ ܐܝܕܟ ܠܡܫܬܐ ܐܡܪ ܠܗܘܢ ܗܟܢܐ ܐܡܪ ܡܪܝܐ ܚܝܠܬܢܐ ܐܠܗܐ ܕܐܝܣܪܝܠ ܡܫܬܐ ܬܫܬܘܢ
thshthwn mshth' d'ysryl 'lh' khylthn' mry' 'mr hkn' lhwn 'mr lmshth' 'ydk mn ks' lmsb ntsbwn l' w'n
It shall be, if they refuse to take the cup at your hand to drink, then you shall tell them, ‘Yahweh of Armies says: “You shall surely drink.

ܡܛܠ ܕܗܐ ܩܪܝܬܐ ܕܐܬܩܪܝ ܫܡܝ ܥܠܝܗ̇ ܡܢܗ̇ ܡܫܪܐ ܐܢܐ ܠܡܒܐܫܘ ܠܗ̇ ܘܐܢܬܘܢ ܡܙܟܐ ܬܙܟܘܢ ܠܐ ܬܙܟܘܢ ܡܛܠ ܕܚܪܒܐ ܩܪܐ ܐܢܐ ܥܠ ܟܠܗܘܢ ܥܡܘܪ̈ܝܗ ܕܐܪܥܐ ܐܡܪ ܡܪܝܐ ܚܝܠܬܢܐ
khylthn' mry' 'mr d're' emwryh klhwn el 'n' qr' dkhrb' mTl thzkwn l' thzkwn mzk' w'nthwn lh lmb'shw 'n' mshr' mnh elyh shmy d'thqry qryth' dh' mTl
For, behold, I begin to work evil at the city which is called by my name; and should you be utterly unpunished? You will not be unpunished; for I will call for a sword on all the inhabitants of the earth, says Yahweh of Armies.”’

ܘܐܢܬ ܬܬܢܒܐ ܥܠܝܗܘܢ ܟܠܗܘܢ ܦܬ̈ܓܡܐ ܗܠܝܢ ܘܬܐܡܪ ܠܗܘܢ ܡܪܝܐ ܡܢ ܡܪܘܡܐ ܢܢܗܡ ܘܡܢ ܡܥܡܪܐ ܕܩܘܕܫܗ ܢܬܠ ܩܠܗ ܡܢܗܡ ܢܢܗܡ ܥܠ ܕܝܪܗ ܝܗܝ ܝܗܝ ܐܝܟ ܥܨܘܪܐ ܢܥܢܐ ܥܠ ܟܠܗܘܢ ܥܡܘܪ̈ܝܗ̇ ܕܐܪܥܐ

“Therefore prophesy against them all these words, and tell them, “‘Yahweh will roar from on high, and utter his voice from his holy habitation. He will mightily roar against his fold. He will give a shout, as those who tread grapes, against all the inhabitants of the earth.

ܡܛܐ ܐܪܓܘܫܝܐ ܥܕܡܐ ܠܣ̈ܘܦܝܗ̇ ܕܐܪܥܐ ܡܛܠ ܕܕܝܢܐ ܠܡܪܝܐ ܥܡ ܥܡ̈ܡܐ ܕܐܢ ܗܘ ܠܟܠ ܒܣܪ ܘܪ̈ܫܝܥܐ ܐܫܠܡ ܐܢܘܢ ܠܚܪܒܐ ܐܡܪ ܡܪܝܐ

A noise will come even to the end of the earth; for Yahweh has a controversy with the nations. He will enter into judgment with all flesh. As for the wicked, he will give them to the sword,”’ says Yahweh.”

ܗܟܢܐ ܐܡܪ ܡܪܝܐ ܚܝܠܬܢܐ ܐܠܗܐ ܕܐܝܣܪܝܠ ܗܐ ܒܝܫܬܐ ܢܦܩܐ ܡܢ ܥܡܐ ܠܥܡܐ ܘܥܠܥܠܐ ܪܒܬܐ ܬܕܘܠ ܡܢ ܣܘ̈ܦܝܗ ܕܐܪܥܐ

Yahweh of Armies says, “Behold, evil will go out from nation to nation, and a great storm will be raised up from the uttermost parts of the earth.”

The slain of Yahweh will be at that day from one end of the earth even to the other end of the earth. They won’t be lamented. They won’t be gathered or buried. They will be dung on the surface of the ground.

ܐܝܠܠܘ ܪ̈ܥܘܬܐ ܘܐܙܥܩܘ ܘܐܬܦܠܦܠܘ ܥܫܝ̈ܢܝ ܥܢܐ ܕܡܠܘ ܝܘܡ̈ܬܟܘܢ ܠܩܛܠܐ ܘܬܬܒܪܘܢ ܘܬܦܠܘܢ ܐܝܟ ܡܐ̈ܢܝ ܪܓܬܐ
rgth' m'ny 'yk wthplwn wththbrwn lqTl' ywmthkwn dmlw en' eshyny w'thplplw w'zeqw rewth' 'yllw
Wail, you shepherds, and cry. Wallow in dust, you leader of the flock; for the days of your slaughter and of your dispersions have fully come, and you will fall like fine pottery.

ܘܢܐܒܕ ܒܝܬ ܥܪܘܩܝܐ ܡܢ ܪ̈ܥܘܬܐ ܘܦܘܠܛܐ ܡܢ ܕܟܪ̈ܐ ܕܥܢܐ
den' dkr' mn wpwlT' rewth' mn erwqy' byth wn'bd
The shepherds will have no way to flee. The leader of the flock will have no escape.

ܩܠ ܙܥܩܬܐ ܕܪ̈ܥܘܬܐ ܘܝܠܠܬܐ ܕܕܟܪ̈ܐ ܕܥܢܐ ܕܒܙ ܡܪܝܐ ܡܪ̈ܥܝܬܗܘܢ
mreythhwn mry' dbz den' ddkr' wyllth' drewth' zeqth' ql
A voice of the cry of the shepherds, and the wailing of the leader of the flock, for Yahweh destroys their pasture.

ܘܢܬܬܒܪ̈ܢ ܕܝܪ̈ܐ ܕܫܠܡܐ ܡܢ ܩܕܡ ܚܡܬܐ ܕܪܘܓܙܗ ܕܡܪܝܐ
dmry' drwgzh khmth' qdm mn dshlm' dyr' wnththbrn
The peaceful folds are brought to silence because of the fierce anger of Yahweh.

ܡܛܠ ܕܫܒܩ ܕܝܪܗ ܐܝܟ ܐܪܝܐ ܕܫܒܩ ܡܪܒܘܥܝܬܗ ܡܛܠ ܕܗܘܬ ܐܪܥܗܘܢ ܠܚܘܪܒܐ ܡܢ ܩܕܡ ܪܘܓܙܗ ܕܡܪܝܐ ܘܡܢ ܩܕܡ ܚܡܬܐ ܕܪܘܓܙܗ
drwgzh khmth' qdm wmn dmry' rwgzh qdm mn lkhwrb' 'rehwn dhwth mTl mrbweythh dshbq 'ry' 'yk dyrh dshbq mTl
He has left his covert, as the lion; for their land has become an astonishment because of the fierceness of the oppression, and because of his fierce anger.
