פתגם נבואה דהוה עם ירמיה על כל עמא דבית יהודה בשתא רביעיתא ליהויקים בר יאשיה מלך שבטא דבית יהודה היא שתא קדמיתא לנבוכדרצר מלכא דבבל:

The word that came to Jeremiah concerning all the people of Judah, in the fourth year of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah, king of Judah (this was the first year of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon),

דאתנבי ירמיה נביא על כל עמא דבית יהודה ועל כל יתבי ירושלם למימר:
lmymr yrwshlm ythby kl wel yhwdh dbyth ema kl el nbya yrmyh dathnby
which Jeremiah the prophet spoke to all the people of Judah, and to all the inhabitants of Jerusalem:

מן תלת עשרי שנין ליאשיה בר אמון מלך שבטא דבית יהודה ועד יומא הדין דנן עשרין ותלת שנין הוה פתגם נבואה מן קדם יי עמי ומללית עמכון מקדם וממליל ולא קבילתון:
qbylthwn wla wmmlyl mqdm emkwn wmllyth emy yy qdm mn nbwah pthgm hwh shnyn wthlth eshryn dnn hdyn ywma wed yhwdh dbyth shbTa mlk amwn br lyashyh shnyn eshry thlth mn
From the thirteenth year of Josiah the son of Amon, king of Judah, even to this day, these twenty-three years, Yahweh’s word has come to me, and I have spoken to you, rising up early and speaking; but you have not listened.

ושלח יי לותכון ית כל עבדוהי נבייא מקדם ומשלח ולא קבילתון ולא ארכינתון ית אודנכון לקבלא:
lqbla awdnkwn yth arkynthwn wla qbylthwn wla wmshlkh mqdm nbyya ebdwhy kl yth lwthkwn yy wshlkh
Yahweh has sent to you all his servants the prophets, rising up early and sending them (but you have not listened or inclined your ear to hear),

למימר תובו כען גבר מאורחיה בישתא ומבישות עובדיכון ותיבו על ארעא דיהב יי לכון ולאבהתכון למן עלמא ועד עלמא:
elma wed elma lmn wlabhthkwn lkwn yy dyhb area el wthybw ewbdykwn wmbyshwth byshtha mawrkhyh gbr ken thwbw lmymr
saying, “Return now everyone from his evil way, and from the evil of your doings, and dwell in the land that Yahweh has given to you and to your fathers, from of old and even forever more.

ולא תהכון בתר טעות פלחי כוכביא למפלחהן ולמסגד להן ולא תרגזון קדמי בעובדי ידיכון ולא אבאיש לכון:
lkwn abaysh wla ydykwn bewbdy qdmy thrgzwn wla lhn wlmsgd lmplkhhn kwkbya plkhy Tewth bthr thhkwn wla
Don’t go after other gods to serve them or worship them, and don’t provoke me to anger with the work of your hands; then I will do you no harm.”

ולא קבילתון למימרי אמר יי בדיל דלא לארגזא קדמי בעובדי ידיכון לאבאשא לכון:
lkwn labasha ydykwn bewbdy qdmy largza dla bdyl yy amr lmymry qbylthwn wla
“Yet you have not listened to me,” says Yahweh, “that you may provoke me to anger with the work of your hands to your own hurt.”

בכן כדנן אמר יי צבאות חלף דלא קבילתון ית פתגמי:
pthgmy yth qbylthwn dla khlp tsbawth yy amr kdnn bkn
Therefore Yahweh of Armies says: “Because you have not heard my words,

הא אנא שלח ואדבר ית כל מלכות צפונא אמר יי ולנבוכדראצר מלכא דבבל עבדי ואיתינון על ארעא הדא ועל יתבהא ועל כל עממיא האלין סחור סחור ואגמרינון ואשוינון לצדו ולאשתממו ולחרבת עלם:
elm wlkhrbth wlashthmmw ltsdw washwynwn wagmrynwn skhwr skhwr halyn emmya kl wel ythbha wel hda area el waythynwn ebdy dbbl mlka wlnbwkdratsr yy amr tspwna mlkwth kl yth wadbr shlkh ana ha
behold, I will send and take all the families of the north,” says Yahweh, “and I will send to Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon, my servant, and will bring them against this land, and against its inhabitants, and against all these nations around. I will utterly destroy them, and make them an astonishment, and a hissing, and perpetual desolations.

ואובד מנהון קל ביע וקל חדוא קל חתנין וקל כלן קל סיען דמשבחין בניהור בוצין:
bwtsyn bnyhwr dmshbkhyn syen ql kln wql khthnyn ql khdwa wql bye ql mnhwn wawbd
Moreover I will take from them the voice of mirth and the voice of gladness, the voice of the bridegroom and the voice of the bride, the sound of the millstones, and the light of the lamp.

ותהי כל ארעא הדא לחרבא לצדו ויפלחון עממיא האלין ית מלכא דבבל שבעין שנין:
shnyn shbeyn dbbl mlka yth halyn emmya wyplkhwn ltsdw lkhrba hda area kl wthhy
This whole land will be a desolation, and an astonishment; and these nations will serve the king of Babylon seventy years.

ויהי כמשלם שבעין שנין אסער על מלכא דבבל ועל עמא ההוא אמר יי ית חוביהון ועל ארע כסדאי ואשוי יתיה לצדות עלם:
elm ltsdwth ythyh washwy ksday are wel khwbyhwn yth yy amr hhwa ema wel dbbl mlka el aser shnyn shbeyn kmshlm wyhy
“It will happen, when seventy years are accomplished, that I will punish the king of Babylon and that nation,” says Yahweh, “for their iniquity. I will make the land of the Chaldeans desolate forever.

ואיתי על ארעא ההיא ית כל פתגמיא דגזרית עלה ית כל דכתיב בספרא הדין דאתנבי ירמיה על כל עממיא:
emmya kl el yrmyh dathnby hdyn bspra dkthyb kl yth elh dgzryth pthgmya kl yth hhya area el waythy
I will bring on that land all my words which I have pronounced against it, even all that is written in this book, which Jeremiah has prophesied against all the nations.

ארי פלחו בהון אף אינון עממין סגיאין ומלכין רברבין ואשלים להון כאגוריהון וכעובדי ידיהון:
ydyhwn wkewbdy kagwryhwn lhwn washlym rbrbyn wmlkyn sgyayn emmyn aynwn ap bhwn plkhw ary
For many nations and great kings will make bondservants of them, even of them. I will recompense them according to their deeds, and according to the work of their hands.”

ארי כדנן אמר יי אלהא דישראל לי קביל ית כסא דחמר לוטא הדין מן קדמי ותשרי יתיה ית כל עממיא דאנא שלח יתך עליהון:
elyhwn ythk shlkh dana emmya kl yth ythyh wthshry qdmy mn hdyn lwTa dkhmr ksa yth qbyl ly dyshral alha yy amr kdnn ary
For Yahweh, the God of Israel, says to me: “Take this cup of the wine of wrath from my hand, and cause all the nations to whom I send you to drink it.

וישתון וישתגשון ויטרפון מן קדם דקטלין בחרבא דאנא שלח ביניהון:
bynyhwn shlkh dana bkhrba dqTlyn qdm mn wyTrpwn wyshthgshwn wyshthwn
They will drink, and reel back and forth, and be insane, because of the sword that I will send among them.”

וקבלית ית כסא מן קדם יי ואשקיתי ית כל עממיא דשלחני יי לותהון:
lwthhwn yy dshlkhny emmya kl yth washqythy yy qdm mn ksa yth wqblyth
Then I took the cup at Yahweh’s hand, and made all the nations to drink, to whom Yahweh had sent me:

ית ירושלם וית קרויא דבית יהודה וית מלכהא וית רברבהא למתן יתהון לחרבא לצדו לאשתממו וללוטא כיומא הדין:
hdyn kywma wllwTa lashthmmw ltsdw lkhrba ythhwn lmthn rbrbha wyth mlkha wyth yhwdh dbyth qrwya wyth yrwshlm yth
Jerusalem, and the cities of Judah, with its kings and its princes, to make them a desolation, an astonishment, a hissing, and a curse, as it is today;

ית פרעה מלכא מצרים וית עבדוהי וית רברבוהי וית כל עמיה:
emyh kl wyth rbrbwhy wyth ebdwhy wyth mtsrym mlka preh yth
Pharaoh king of Egypt, with his servants, his princes, and all his people;
20
וית כל מלכי סומכותא וית כל מלכי ארע עוץ וית כל מלכי ארע פלשתאי וית אשקלון וית עזה וית עקרון וית שארא דאשדוד:
dashdwd shara wyth eqrwn wyth ezh wyth ashqlwn wyth plshthay are mlky kl wyth ewts are mlky kl wyth swmkwtha mlky kl wyth
and all the mixed people, and all the kings of the land of Uz, all the kings of the Philistines, Ashkelon, Gaza, Ekron, and the remnant of Ashdod;
21
ית אדום וית מואב וית בני עמון:
emwn bny wyth mwab wyth adwm yth
Edom, Moab, and the children of Ammon;
22
וית כל מלכי צור וית כל מלכי צידון וית כל מלכי ניסא די בעברא דימא:
dyma bebra dy nysa mlky kl wyth tsydwn mlky kl wyth tswr mlky kl wyth
and all the kings of Tyre, all the kings of Sidon, and the kings of the isle which is beyond the sea;

ית דדן וית תימא וית בוז כל מקפי פאתא:
patha mqpy kl bwz wyth thyma wyth ddn yth
Dedan, Tema, Buz, and all who have the corners of their beard cut off;
24
וית כל מלכי ערב וית כל מלכי ערבאי דשרן בשכונין במדברא:
bmdbra bshkwnyn dshrn erbay mlky kl wyth erb mlky kl wyth
and all the kings of Arabia, all the kings of the mixed people who dwell in the wilderness;
25
וית כל מלכי זמרי וית כל מלכי עילם וית כל מלכי מדי:
mdy mlky kl wyth eylm mlky kl wyth zmry mlky kl wyth
and all the kings of Zimri, all the kings of Elam, and all the kings of the Medes;

וית כל מלכי צפונא דקריבין ודרחיקין גבר לאחוהי וית כל מלכות עממיא דעל אפי ארעא ומלכא דבבל ישתי בתריהון:
bthryhwn yshthy dbbl wmlka area apy del emmya mlkwth kl wyth lakhwhy gbr wdrkhyqyn dqrybyn tspwna mlky kl wyth
and all the kings of the north, far and near, one with another; and all the kingdoms of the world, which are on the surface of the earth. The king of Sheshach will drink after them.
27
ותימר להון כדנן אמר יי צבאות אלהא דישראל שתו ורוו ואשתגישו ונפלו ולא תקומון מן קדם דקטלין בחרבא דאנא שלח ביניכון:
bynykwn shlkh dana bkhrba dqTlyn qdm mn thqwmwn wla wnplw washthgyshw wrww shthw dyshral alha tsbawth yy amr kdnn lhwn wthymr
“You shall tell them, ‘Yahweh of Armies, the God of Israel says: “Drink, and be drunk, vomit, fall, and rise no more, because of the sword which I will send among you.”’
28
ויהי ארי יסרבון לקבלא כסא מן ידך למשתי ותימר להון כדנן אמר יי צבאות משתא תשתון:
thshthwn mshtha tsbawth yy amr kdnn lhwn wthymr lmshthy ydk mn ksa lqbla ysrbwn ary wyhy
It shall be, if they refuse to take the cup at your hand to drink, then you shall tell them, ‘Yahweh of Armies says: “You shall surely drink.

ארי הא בקרתא דאתקרי שמי עלה אנא משרי לאבאשא ואתון מדמן דמזכא תזכון לא תזכון ארי דקטלין בחרבא אנא מכלי על כל יתבי ארעא אמר יי צבאות:
tsbawth yy amr area ythby kl el mkly ana bkhrba dqTlyn ary thzkwn la thzkwn dmzka mdmn wathwn labasha mshry ana elh shmy dathqry bqrtha ha ary
For, behold, I begin to work evil at the city which is called by my name; and should you be utterly unpunished? You will not be unpunished; for I will call for a sword on all the inhabitants of the earth, says Yahweh of Armies.”’
30
ואת תתנבי להון ית כל פתגמיא האלין ותימר להון יי ממרומא יכלי וממדור קודשיה ירים מימריה אכלאה יכלי דייתון בזוזין על ארע בית שכנתי הא כנחתי מעצרא דמרימין קלהון כן ייתי זעוא לכל יתבי ארעא:
area ythby lkl zewa yythy kn qlhwn dmrymyn metsra knkhthy ha shknthy byth are el bzwzyn dyythwn ykly aklah mymryh yrym qwdshyh wmmdwr ykly mmrwma yy lhwn wthymr halyn pthgmya kl yth lhwn ththnby wath
“Therefore prophesy against them all these words, and tell them, “‘Yahweh will roar from on high, and utter his voice from his holy habitation. He will mightily roar against his fold. He will give a shout, as those who tread grapes, against all the inhabitants of the earth.
31
מטא אתרגושא עד סיפי ארעא ארי דינא קדם יי בעממיא מתפרע הוא לכל בשרא רשיעיא דבהון מסרינון לקטלא אמר יי:
yy amr lqTla msrynwn dbhwn rshyeya bshra lkl hwa mthpre bemmya yy qdm dyna ary area sypy ed athrgwsha mTa
A noise will come even to the end of the earth; for Yahweh has a controversy with the nations. He will enter into judgment with all flesh. As for the wicked, he will give them to the sword,”’ says Yahweh.”
32
כדנן אמר יי צבאות הא בישתא נפקא מעם לעם ועממין רברבין ייתון בגלי מסיפי ארעא:
area msypy bgly yythwn rbrbyn wemmyn lem mem npqa byshtha ha tsbawth yy amr kdnn
Yahweh of Armies says, “Behold, evil will go out from nation to nation, and a great storm will be raised up from the uttermost parts of the earth.”
33
ויהון קטיליא רמן קדם יי ביומא ההוא מסיפי ארעא ועד סיפי ארעא לא יסתפדון ולא יתכנשון ולא יתקברון לזיבל מבדר על אפי ארעא יהון:
yhwn area apy el mbdr lzybl ythqbrwn wla ythknshwn wla ysthpdwn la area sypy wed area msypy hhwa bywma yy qdm rmn qTylya wyhwn
The slain of Yahweh will be at that day from one end of the earth even to the other end of the earth. They won’t be lamented. They won’t be gathered or buried. They will be dung on the surface of the ground.
34
אלילו מלכיא וצוחו וחופו רישיכון בקטמא תקיפי עמא ארי שלימו יומיכון לקטלא ותתבדרון ותפלון דהויתון רגיגין כמני חמדתא:
khmdtha kmny rgygyn dhwythwn wthplwn wththbdrwn lqTla ywmykwn shlymw ary ema thqypy bqTma ryshykwn wkhwpw wtswkhw mlkya alylw
Wail, you shepherds, and cry. Wallow in dust, you leader of the flock; for the days of your slaughter and of your dispersions have fully come, and you will fall like fine pottery.
35
ויבד בית ערוקי מן מלכיא ושיזבא מתקיפי עמא:
ema mthqypy wshyzba mlkya mn erwqy byth wybd
The shepherds will have no way to flee. The leader of the flock will have no escape.
36
קל צוחת מלכיא ויללת תקיפי עמא ארי אבז יי ית עמהון:
emhwn yth yy abz ary ema thqypy wyllth mlkya tswkhth ql
A voice of the cry of the shepherds, and the wailing of the leader of the flock, for Yahweh destroys their pasture.
37
ויצדון מדורי שלמהון מקדם תקוף רוגזא דיי:
dyy rwgza thqwp mqdm shlmhwn mdwry wytsdwn
The peaceful folds are brought to silence because of the fierce anger of Yahweh.
38
גלא מלכא מכרכיה ארי הות ארעהון לצדו מן קדם חרב סנאה דהיא כחמר מרויא ומן קדם תקוף רוגזיה:
rwgzyh thqwp qdm wmn mrwya kkhmr dhya snah khrb qdm mn ltsdw arehwn hwth ary mkrkyh mlka gla
He has left his covert, as the lion; for their land has become an astonishment because of the fierceness of the oppression, and because of his fierce anger.
