אחזיני יי והא תרין סלי תינין מחתין מקדם היכלא דיי בתר דאגלי נבוכדרצר מלכא דבבל ית יכניה בר יהויקים מלך שבטא דבית יהודה וית רברבי יהודה וית אומניא וית תרעיא מירושלם ואובילינון לבבל:
lbbl wawbylynwn myrwshlm threya wyth awmnya wyth yhwdh rbrby wyth yhwdh dbyth shbTa mlk yhwyqym br yknyh yth dbbl mlka nbwkdrtsr dagly bthr dyy hykla mqdm mkhthyn thynyn sly thryn wha yy akhzyny
Yahweh showed me, and behold, two baskets of figs were set before Yahweh’s temple, after Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon had carried away captive Jeconiah the son of Jehoiakim, king of Judah, and the princes of Judah, with the craftsmen and smiths, from Jerusalem, and had brought them to Babylon.

סלא הדא תינין טבא לחדא כתינין בכירין וסלא חד תינין בישין לחדא דלא מתאכלין מבישו:
mbyshw mthaklyn dla lkhda byshyn thynyn khd wsla bkyryn kthynyn lkhda Tba thynyn hda sla
One basket had very good figs, like the figs that are first-ripe; and the other basket had very bad figs, which could not be eaten, they were so bad.

ואמר יי לי מה את חזי ירמיה ואמרית תינין תיניא טבתא טבן לחדא ודבישין בישין לחדא דלא מתאכלין מבישו:
mbyshw mthaklyn dla lkhda byshyn wdbyshyn lkhda Tbn Tbtha thynya thynyn wamryth yrmyh khzy ath mh ly yy wamr
Then Yahweh asked me, “What do you see, Jeremiah?” I said, “Figs. The good figs are very good, and the bad are very bad, so bad that they can’t be eaten.”

והוה פתגם נבואה מקדם יי עמי למימר:
lmymr emy yy mqdm nbwah pthgm whwh
Yahweh’s word came to me, saying,

כדנן אמר יי אלהא דישראל כתיניא טבתא האלין כן אשתמודע ית גלות יהודה דאגליתי מן אתרא הדין לארע כסדאי לטבתא:
lTbtha ksday lare hdyn athra mn daglythy yhwdh glwth yth ashthmwde kn halyn Tbtha kthynya dyshral alha yy amr kdnn
“Yahweh, the God of Israel says: ‘Like these good figs, so I will regard the captives of Judah, whom I have sent out of this place into the land of the Chaldeans, as good.

ואשוי מימרי עליהון לטבא ואתיבינון לארע הדא ואבנינון ולא אפגר ואקימינון ולא אטלטל:
aTlTl wla waqymynwn apgr wla wabnynwn hda lare wathybynwn lTba elyhwn mymry washwy
For I will set my eyes on them for good, and I will bring them again to this land. I will build them, and not pull them down. I will plant them, and not pluck them up.

ואתן להון לב למידע דחלתי ארי אנא יי ויהון קדמי לעם ואנא אהוי להון לאלה ארי יתובון לפולחני בכל לבהון:
lbhwn bkl lpwlkhny ythwbwn ary lalh lhwn ahwy wana lem qdmy wyhwn yy ana ary dkhlthy lmyde lb lhwn wathn
I will give them a heart to know me, that I am Yahweh. They will be my people, and I will be their God; for they will return to me with their whole heart.

וכתיניא בישתא דלא מתאכלא מבישו ארי כדנן אמר יי כן אתן ית צדקיהו מלך שבטא דבית יהודה וית רברבוהי וית שארא דירושלם דאשתארו בארעא הדא ודיתבין בארעא דמצרים:
dmtsrym barea wdythbyn hda barea dashtharw dyrwshlm shara wyth rbrbwhy wyth yhwdh dbyth shbTa mlk tsdqyhw yth athn kn yy amr kdnn ary mbyshw mthakla dla byshtha wkthynya
“‘As the bad figs, which can’t be eaten, they are so bad,’ surely Yahweh says, ‘So I will give up Zedekiah the king of Judah, and his princes, and the remnant of Jerusalem who remain in this land, and those who dwell in the land of Egypt.

ואתנינון לזיע ולבישא לכל מלכות ארעא לחיסודין ולמתל ולשועי וללוטא בכל אתריא דאגלינון לתמן:
lthmn daglynwn athrya bkl wllwTa wlshwey wlmthl lkhyswdyn area mlkwth lkl wlbysha lzye wathnynwn
I will even give them up to be tossed back and forth among all the kingdoms of the earth for evil, to be a reproach and a proverb, a taunt and a curse, in all places where I will drive them.

ואגרי בהון ית דקטלין בחרבא בכפנא ובמותא עד דיסופון מעל ארעא דיהבית להון ולאבהתהון:
wlabhthhwn lhwn dyhbyth area mel dyswpwn ed wbmwtha bkpna bkhrba dqTlyn yth bhwn wagry
I will send the sword, the famine, and the pestilence among them, until they are consumed from off the land that I gave to them and to their fathers.’”
