כדנן אמר יי חות לבית מלך שבטא דבית יהודה ותתנבי תמן ית פתגמא הדין:
hdyn pthgma yth thmn wththnby yhwdh dbyth shbTa mlk lbyth khwth yy amr kdnn
Yahweh said, “Go down to the house of the king of Judah, and speak this word there:

ותימר קביל פתגמא דיי מלך שבטא דבית יהודה דיתיב על כורסי דוד את ועבדך ועמך דעלין בתרעיא האלין:
halyn bthreya delyn wemk webdk ath dwd kwrsy el dythyb yhwdh dbyth shbTa mlk dyy pthgma qbyl wthymr
‘Hear Yahweh’s word, king of Judah, who sits on David’s throne—you, your servants, and your people who enter in by these gates.

כדנן אמר יי עבידו דינא וצדקתא ושיזיבו אניסא מיד דאניס ליה וגיור יתם וארמלא לא תונון ולא תינסון ודם זכאי לא תישדון באתרא הדין:
hdyn bathra thyshdwn la zkay wdm thynswn wla thwnwn la warmla ythm wgywr lyh danys myd anysa wshyzybw wtsdqtha dyna ebydw yy amr kdnn
Yahweh says: “Execute justice and righteousness, and deliver him who is robbed out of the hand of the oppressor. Do no wrong. Do no violence to the foreigner, the fatherless, or the widow. Don’t shed innocent blood in this place.

ארי אם מעבד תעבדון ית פתגמא הדין ויעלון בתרעי ביתא הדין מלכין יתבין לדוד על כורסוהי רכיבין ברתיכין ובסוסון הוא ועבדוהי ועמיה:
wemyh webdwhy hwa wbswswn brthykyn rkybyn kwrswhy el ldwd ythbyn mlkyn hdyn bytha bthrey wyelwn hdyn pthgma yth thebdwn mebd am ary
For if you do this thing indeed, then kings sitting on David’s throne will enter in by the gates of this house, riding in chariots and on horses—they, their servants, and their people.

ואם לא תקבלון ית פתגמיא האלין במימרי קימית אמר יי ארי לחורבא יהי ביתא הדין:
hdyn bytha yhy lkhwrba ary yy amr qymyth bmymry halyn pthgmya yth thqblwn la wam
But if you will not hear these words, I swear by myself,” says Yahweh, “that this house will become a desolation.”’”

ארי כדנן אמר יי על בית מלך שבטא דבית יהודה אילו את חביב קדמי מבית מקדשא דרם בריש טוריא אם לא אשוינך מדברא קרוין דלא אתיתבא:
athythba dla qrwyn mdbra ashwynk la am Twrya brysh drm mqdsha mbyth qdmy khbyb ath aylw yhwdh dbyth shbTa mlk byth el yy amr kdnn ary
For Yahweh says concerning the house of the king of Judah: “You are Gilead to me, the head of Lebanon. Yet surely I will make you a wilderness, cities which are not inhabited.

ואזמין עלך מחבלין גבר וזיניה ויקטלון שפר גברך כמא דקצצין אעי חורשא ורמן לנורא:
lnwra wrmn khwrsha aey dqtstsyn kma gbrk shpr wyqTlwn wzynyh gbr mkhblyn elk wazmyn
I will prepare destroyers against you, everyone with his weapons, and they will cut down your choice cedars, and cast them into the fire.

ויעברון עממין סגיאין על קרתא הדא ויימרון גבר לחבריה על מה עבד יי כדין לקרתא רבתא הדא:
hda rbtha lqrtha kdyn yy ebd mh el lkhbryh gbr wyymrwn hda qrtha el sgyayn emmyn wyebrwn
“Many nations will pass by this city, and they will each ask his neighbor, ‘Why has Yahweh done this to this great city?’

ויימרון על דשבקו ית קימא דיי אלההון וסגידו לטעות פלחי כוכביא ופלחונון:
wplkhwnwn kwkbya plkhy lTewth wsgydw alhhwn dyy qyma yth dshbqw el wyymrwn
Then they will answer, ‘Because they abandoned the covenant of Yahweh their God, worshiped other gods, and served them.’”

לא תבכון על מית ולא תדוון עלוהי בכו מבכא לדגלי ארי לא יתוב עוד ויחזי ית ארעא דילדותיה:
dyldwthyh area yth wykhzy ewd ythwb la ary ldgly mbka bkw elwhy thdwwn wla myth el thbkwn la
Don’t weep for the dead. Don’t bemoan him; but weep bitterly for him who goes away, for he will return no more, and not see his native country.

ארי כדנן אמר יי על שלום בר יאשיה מלך שבטא דבית יהודה דמלך תחות יאשיה אבוהי דגלא מן אתרא הדין לא יתוב לתמן עוד:
ewd lthmn ythwb la hdyn athra mn dgla abwhy yashyh thkhwth dmlk yhwdh dbyth shbTa mlk yashyh br shlwm el yy amr kdnn ary
For Yahweh says touching Shallum the son of Josiah, king of Judah, who reigned instead of Josiah his father, and who went out of this place: “He won’t return there any more.

אלהין באתרא דאגליאו יתיה תמן ימות וית ארעא הדא לא יחזי עוד:
ewd ykhzy la hda area wyth ymwth thmn ythyh daglyaw bathra alhyn
But he will die in the place where they have led him captive. He will see this land no more.”

וי דבני ביתיה בלא קשוט ועליתיה בלא דינא כדחזי בחבריה מפלח מגן ואגריה לא יהב ליה:
lyh yhb la wagryh mgn mplkh bkhbryh kdkhzy dyna bla welythyh qshwT bla bythyh dbny wy
“Woe to him who builds his house by unrighteousness, and his rooms by injustice; who uses his neighbor’s service without wages, and doesn’t give him his hire;

דאמר אבני לי בתין דמשחן ועלין מרוחן ופצים ליה חרכין ומטליל בכיורי ארזיא ומציר בסממנין:
bsmmnyn wmtsyr arzya bkywry wmTlyl khrkyn lyh wptsym mrwkhn welyn dmshkhn bthyn ly abny damr
who says, ‘I will build myself a wide house and spacious rooms,’ and cuts out windows for himself, with a cedar ceiling, and painted with red.

האת מדמי למהוי במלכא קדמאה אבוך הלא אכל ושתא ועבד דין דקשוט וזכו בכן טב ליה:
lyh Tb bkn wzkw dqshwT dyn webd wshtha akl hla abwk qdmah bmlka lmhwy mdmy hath
“Should you reign because you strive to excel in cedar? Didn’t your father eat and drink, and do justice and righteousness? Then it was well with him.

דן דין מסכן וחשוך בכן הוה טב הלא היא דעתא דרעינא בה אמר יי:
yy amr bh dreyna detha hya hla Tb hwh bkn wkhshwk mskn dyn dn
He judged the cause of the poor and needy; so then it was well. Wasn’t this to know me?” says Yahweh.

ארי לית עינך ולבך אלהין על ממונא למינס ועל דם זכאי למשפך ועל עושקא ועל דברעות נפשך למעבד:
lmebd npshk dbrewth wel ewshqa wel lmshpk zkay dm wel lmyns mmwna el alhyn wlbk eynk lyth ary
But your eyes and your heart are only for your covetousness, for shedding innocent blood, for oppression, and for doing violence.”

בכן כדנן אמר יי על יהויקים בר יאשיה מלך שבטא דבית יהודה לא יספדון ליה וי על אחי וי על אחת לא יספדון ליה וי על מלכא וי על מלכותיה:
mlkwthyh el wy mlka el wy lyh yspdwn la akhth el wy akhy el wy lyh yspdwn la yhwdh dbyth shbTa mlk yashyh br yhwyqym el yy amr kdnn bkn
Therefore Yahweh says concerning Jehoiakim the son of Josiah, king of Judah: “They won’t lament for him, saying, ‘Ah my brother!’ or, ‘Ah sister!’ They won’t lament for him, saying ‘Ah lord!’ or, ‘Ah his glory!’

כמה דמשגרן ית נבלת חמרא כן ישגרון ית נבילתיה יתגרר וישתדי להלאה לתרעי ירושלם:
yrwshlm lthrey lhlah wyshthdy ythgrr nbylthyh yth yshgrwn kn khmra nblth yth dmshgrn kmh
He will be buried with the burial of a donkey, drawn and cast out beyond the gates of Jerusalem.”

סקי לבית מקדשא וצוחי ובתרעי טור ביתא ארימי קליך וצוחי על מגיזתא ארי אתברו כל רחמך:
rkhmk kl athbrw ary mgyztha el wtswkhy qlyk arymy bytha Twr wbthrey wtswkhy mqdsha lbyth sqy
“Go up to Lebanon, and cry out. Lift up your voice in Bashan, and cry from Abarim; for all your lovers have been destroyed.

ושלחית לותיך ית כל עבדי נבייא כד הוית יתבא שלויא אמרת לית אנא מקבלא אולפן דא אורחתיך מזעוריך ארי לא קבילת למימרי:
lmymry qbylth la ary mzewryk awrkhthyk da awlpn mqbla ana lyth amrth shlwya ythba hwyth kd nbyya ebdy kl yth lwthyk wshlkhyth
I spoke to you in your prosperity, but you said, ‘I will not listen.’ This has been your way from your youth, that you didn’t obey my voice.

כל פרנסך יתכדרון לכל רוח ירחמך בשביא יהכון ארי בכן תבהתין ותתכנעין מכל בישתה:
byshthh mkl wththkneyn thbhthyn bkn ary yhkwn bshbya yrkhmk rwkh lkl ythkdrwn prnsk kl
The wind will feed all your shepherds, and your lovers will go into captivity. Surely then you will be ashamed and confounded for all your wickedness.

דיתבא בבית מקדשא ביני מלכיא מרביא בנהא מה תעבדון במיתי לך עקא וזיע הא כחבלין לילידתא:
lylydtha kkhblyn ha wzye eqa lk bmythy thebdwn mh bnha mrbya mlkya byny mqdsha bbyth dythba
Inhabitant of Lebanon, who makes your nest in the cedars, how greatly to be pitied you will be when pangs come on you, the pain as of a woman in travail!

קים אנא אמר יי ארי אם יהי כניה בר יהויקים מלך שבטא דבית יהודה כגלף דעזקא על יד ימיני ארי מתמן במימרי אגלינך:
aglynk bmymry mthmn ary ymyny yd el dezqa kglp yhwdh dbyth shbTa mlk yhwyqym br knyh yhy am ary yy amr ana qym
“As I live,” says Yahweh, “though Coniah the son of Jehoiakim king of Judah were the signet on my right hand, I would still pluck you from there.

ואתנינך ביד דבען למקטלך וביד דאת דחיל מן קדמיהון וביד נבוכדרצר מלכא דבבל ובידא דכשדאי:
dkshday wbyda dbbl mlka nbwkdrtsr wbyd qdmyhwn mn dkhyl dath wbyd lmqTlk dben byd wathnynk
I would give you into the hand of those who seek your life, and into the hand of them of whom you are afraid, even into the hand of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, and into the hand of the Chaldeans.
26
ואטלטיל יתך וית אמך דילדתך לארע אוחרי דלא אתילידתון תמן ותמן תמותון:
thmwthwn wthmn thmn athylydthwn dla awkhry lare dyldthk amk wyth ythk waTlTyl
I will cast you out with your mother who bore you into another country, where you were not born; and there you will die.

ולארעא דאינון מטען ית נפשיהון למתב תמן לתמן לא יתובון:
ythwbwn la lthmn thmn lmthb npshyhwn yth mTen daynwn wlarea
But to the land to which their soul longs to return, there they will not return.”

בסירא חלשא מטלטלא גברא הדין כניהו כמנא דלית צרוך ביה מה דין אטלטלו הוא ובנוהי ואתגליאו לארעא דלא ידעו:
ydew dla larea wathglyaw wbnwhy hwa aTlTlw dyn mh byh tsrwk dlyth kmna knyhw hdyn gbra mTlTla khlsha bsyra
Is this man Coniah a despised broken vessel? Is he a vessel in which no one delights? Why are they cast out, he and his offspring, and cast into a land which they don’t know?

מארעיה אגלוהי לארעא אוחרי ארעא דישראל קבילי פתגמי דיי:
dyy pthgmy qbyly dyshral area awkhry larea aglwhy mareyh
O earth, earth, earth, hear Yahweh’s word!
30
כדנן אמר יי כתובו ית גברא הדין דלא ולד גברא דלא יצלח ביומוהי ארי לא יצלח מזרעיה גבר יתיב על כורסי דוד ועביד שולטן על דבית יהדה:
yhdh dbyth el shwlTn webyd dwd kwrsy el ythyb gbr mzreyh ytslkh la ary bywmwhy ytslkh dla gbra wld dla hdyn gbra yth kthwbw yy amr kdnn
Yahweh says, “Record this man as childless, a man who will not prosper in his days; for no more will a man of his offspring prosper, sitting on David’s throne and ruling in Judah.”
