ܗܟܢܐ ܐܡܪ ܡܪܝܐ ܚܘܬ ܠܒܝܬ ܡܠܟܐ ܕܝܗܘܕܐ ܘܡܠܠ ܬܡܢ ܦܬܓܡܐ ܗܢܐ

Yahweh said, “Go down to the house of the king of Judah, and speak this word there:

ܘܐܡܪ ܫܡܥܘ ܦܬܓܡܗ ܕܡܪܝܐ ܡܠܟܐ ܕܝܗܘܕܐ ܕܝܬܒ ܥܠ ܟܘܪܣܝܗ ܕܕܘܝܕ ܐܢܬ ܘܥܒ̈ܕܝܟ ܘܥܡܟ ܕܥܐܠܝܢ ܒܬܪ̈ܥܐ ܗܠܝܢ
hlyn bthre' de'lyn wemk webdyk 'nth ddwyd kwrsyh el dythb dyhwd' mlk' dmry' pthgmh shmew w'mr
‘Hear Yahweh’s word, king of Judah, who sits on David’s throne—you, your servants, and your people who enter in by these gates.

ܗܟܢܐ ܐܡܪ ܡܪܝܐ ܥܒܕܘ ܕܝܢܐ ܘܙܕܝܩܘܬܐ ܘܦܨܘ ܠܛܠܝܡܐ ܡܢ ܡ̇ܢ ܕܛܠܡ ܠܗ ܘܠܥܡܘܪ̈ܐ ܘܠܝ̈ܬܡܐ ܘܠܐܪ̈ܡܠܬܐ ܠܐ ܬܥܠܒܘܢ ܘܠܐ ܬܛܠܡܘܢ ܘܕܡܐ ܙܟܝܐ ܠܐ ܬܐܫܕܘܢ ܒܐܬܪܐ ܗܢܐ
hn' b'thr' th'shdwn l' zky' wdm' thTlmwn wl' thelbwn l' wl'rmlth' wlythm' wlemwr' lh dTlm mn mn lTlym' wptsw wzdyqwth' dyn' ebdw mry' 'mr hkn'
Yahweh says: “Execute justice and righteousness, and deliver him who is robbed out of the hand of the oppressor. Do no wrong. Do no violence to the foreigner, the fatherless, or the widow. Don’t shed innocent blood in this place.

ܘܐܢ ܡܥܒܕ ܬܥܒܕܘܢ ܦܬܓܡܐ ܗܢܐ ܢܥܠܘܢ ܒܬܪ̈ܥܘܗܝ ܕܒܝܬܐ ܗܢܐ ܡ̈ܠܟܐ ܕܝܬܒܝܢ ܥܠ ܟܘܪܣܝܗ ܕܕܘܝܕ ܟܕ ܪܟܝܒܝܢ ܒܡܪ̈ܟܒܬܐ ܘܒܪ̈ܟܫܐ ܗܘ ܘܥܒ̈ܕܘܗܝ ܘܥܡܗ
wemh webdwhy hw wbrksh' bmrkbth' rkybyn kd ddwyd kwrsyh el dythbyn mlk' hn' dbyth' bthrewhy nelwn hn' pthgm' thebdwn mebd w'n
For if you do this thing indeed, then kings sitting on David’s throne will enter in by the gates of this house, riding in chariots and on horses—they, their servants, and their people.

ܘܐܠܐ ܬܫܡܥܘܢ ܦܬܓܡܐ ܗܢܐ ܒܝ ܐܝܡܝܬ ܐܡܪ ܡܪܝܐ ܕܠܚܘܪܒܐ ܢܗܘܐ ܒܝܬܐ ܗܢܐ
hn' byth' nhw' dlkhwrb' mry' 'mr 'ymyth by hn' pthgm' thshmewn w'l'
But if you will not hear these words, I swear by myself,” says Yahweh, “that this house will become a desolation.”’”

ܡܛܠ ܕܗܟܢܐ ܐܡܪ ܡܪܝܐ ܥܠ ܒܝܬ ܡܠܟܐ ܕܝܗܘܕܐ ܓܠܥܕ ܐܢܬ ܗܘ ܪܝܫ ܠܒܢܢ ܐܠܐ ܐܥܒܕܟ ܡܕܒܪܐ ܐܝܟ ܩܘܪ̈ܝܐ ܕܠܐ ܐܬܝܬܒ

For Yahweh says concerning the house of the king of Judah: “You are Gilead to me, the head of Lebanon. Yet surely I will make you a wilderness, cities which are not inhabited.

ܘܐܛܝܒ ܥܠܝܟ ܡܚܒ̈ܠܢܐ ܓܒܪܐ ܘܢܪܓܗ ܒܐܝܕܗ ܘܢܦܣܩܘܢ ܓܒ̈ܝܐ ܕܐܪ̈ܙܝܟ ܘܢܪܡܘܢ ܒܢܘܪܐ
bnwr' wnrmwn d'rzyk gby' wnpsqwn b'ydh wnrgh gbr' mkhbln' elyk w'Tyb
I will prepare destroyers against you, everyone with his weapons, and they will cut down your choice cedars, and cast them into the fire.

ܘܢܥܒܪܘܢ ܥܡ̈ܡܐ ܣ̈ܓܝܐܐ ܥܠ ܩܪܝܬܐ ܗܕܐ ܪܒܬܐ ܘܢܐܡܪܘܢ ܓܒܪ ܠܚܒܪܗ ܥܠ ܡܢܐ ܥܒܕ ܡܪܝܐ ܗܟܢܐ ܠܩܪܝܬܐ ܗܕܐ ܪܒܬܐ

“Many nations will pass by this city, and they will each ask his neighbor, ‘Why has Yahweh done this to this great city?’

ܘܢܐܡܪܘܢ ܥܠ ܕܫܒܩܘ ܩܝܡܗ ܕܡܪܝܐ ܐܠܗܗܘܢ ܘܣܓܕܘ ܠܐ̈ܠܗܐ ܐܚܪ̈ܢܐ ܘܦܠܚܘ ܐܢܘܢ
'nwn wplkhw 'khrn' l'lh' wsgdw 'lhhwn dmry' qymh dshbqw el wn'mrwn
Then they will answer, ‘Because they abandoned the covenant of Yahweh their God, worshiped other gods, and served them.’”

ܠܐ ܬܒܟܘܢ ܥܠ ܡܝܬܐ ܘܠܐ ܬܢܘܕܘܢ ܥܠܘܗܝ ܒܟܘ ܡܒܟܐ ܥܠ ܡ̇ܢ ܕܐܙܠ ܘܬܘܒ ܠܐ ܗܦܟ ܘܠܐ ܚܙܐ ܐܪܥܐ ܕܐܬܝܠܕ ܒ̇ܗ
bh d'thyld 're' khz' wl' hpk l' wthwb d'zl mn el mbk' bkw elwhy thnwdwn wl' myth' el thbkwn l'
Don’t weep for the dead. Don’t bemoan him; but weep bitterly for him who goes away, for he will return no more, and not see his native country.

ܡܛܠ ܕܗܟܢܐ ܐܡܪ ܡܪܝܐ ܥܠ ܫܠܘܡ ܒܪ ܝܘܫܝܐ ܕܐܡܠܟ ܚܠܦ ܝܘܫܝܐ ܐܒܘܗܝ ܕܢܦܩ ܡܢ ܐܬܪܐ ܗܢܐ ܠܐ ܢܗܦܘܟ ܠܬܡܢ ܬܘܒ

For Yahweh says touching Shallum the son of Josiah, king of Judah, who reigned instead of Josiah his father, and who went out of this place: “He won’t return there any more.

ܐܠܐ ܒܐܬܪܐ ܕܐܫܬܒܝ ܬܡܢ ܢܡܘܬ ܘܐܪܥܐ ܗܕܐ ܬܘܒ ܠܐ ܢܚܙܐ
nkhz' l' thwb hd' w're' nmwth thmn d'shthby b'thr' 'l'
But he will die in the place where they have led him captive. He will see this land no more.”

ܘܝ ܠܕܒܢܐ ܒܝܬܗ ܕܠܐ ܒܙܕܩܐ ܘܥ̈ܠܝܬܗ ܕܠܐ ܒܕܝܢܐ ܚܒܪܗ ܦܠܚ ܠܗ ܡܓܢ ܘܐܓܪܗ ܠܐ ܝܗܒ ܠܗ

“Woe to him who builds his house by unrighteousness, and his rooms by injustice; who uses his neighbor’s service without wages, and doesn’t give him his hire;

ܕܐܡܪ ܐܒܢܐ ܠܝ ܒܝܬܐ ܕܡܘܫ̈ܚܬܐ ܘܥ̈ܠܝܬܐ ܡܪ̈ܘܚܬܐ ܘܦܬܚ ܠܗܝܢ ܟܘ̈ܐ ܘܡܛܠܠ ܠܗܝܢ ܒܐܪ̈ܙܐ ܘܨܐܪ ܠܗܝܢ ܨܘܪ̈ܬܐ

who says, ‘I will build myself a wide house and spacious rooms,’ and cuts out windows for himself, with a cedar ceiling, and painted with red.

ܡܡܠܟ ܐܢܬ ܕܐܢܬ ܡܬܚܕܐ ܒܐܪ̈ܙܐ ܐܒܘܟ ܐܟܠ ܘܐܫܬܝ ܘܥܒܕ ܕܝܢܐ ܘܙܕܝܩܘܬܐ ܡܛܠ ܗܢܐ ܐܛܐܒܬ ܠܗ

“Should you reign because you strive to excel in cedar? Didn’t your father eat and drink, and do justice and righteousness? Then it was well with him.

ܕܢ ܕܝܢܐ ܕܡܣ̈ܟܢܐ ܘܕܒܝ̈ܫܐ ܘܥܒܕ ܕܫܦܝܪ ܡ̇ܢ ܕܗܠܝܢ ܥܒܕ ܝܕܥ ܠܝ ܐܡܪ ܡܪܝܐ
mry' 'mr ly yde ebd dhlyn mn dshpyr webd wdbysh' dmskn' dyn' dn
He judged the cause of the poor and needy; so then it was well. Wasn’t this to know me?” says Yahweh.

ܕܝܠܟ ܕܝܢ ܥܝܢ̈ܝܟ ܘܠܒܟ ܠܝܬ ܥܠ ܡܕܡ ܐܚܪܝܢ ܐܠܐ ܥܠ ܩܢܝܢܟ ܘܥܠ ܕܡܐ ܙܟܝܐ ܠܡܐܫܕ ܘܥܠ ܥܫܘܩܝܐ ܘܥܠ ܛܠܘܡܝܐ ܠܡܥܒܕ
lmebd Tlwmy' wel eshwqy' wel lm'shd zky' dm' wel qnynk el 'l' 'khryn mdm el lyth wlbk eynyk dyn dylk
But your eyes and your heart are only for your covetousness, for shedding innocent blood, for oppression, and for doing violence.”

ܡܛܠ ܕܗܟܢܐ ܐܡܪ ܡܪܝܐ ܥܠ ܝܘܝܩܝܡ ܒܪ ܝܘܫܝܐ ܡܠܟܐ ܕܝܗܘܕܐ ܠܐ ܢܪ̈ܩܕܘܢ ܥܠܘܗܝ ܘܠܐ ܢܐܡܪܘܢ ܘܝ ܐܚܝ ܘܝ ܐܚܝ ܘܠܐ ܢܪܩܕܘܢ ܥܠܘܗܝ ܘܝ ܡܪܐ ܘܝ ܡܪܐ
mr' wy mr' wy elwhy nrqdwn wl' 'khy wy 'khy wy n'mrwn wl' elwhy nrqdwn l' dyhwd' mlk' ywshy' br ywyqym el mry' 'mr dhkn' mTl
Therefore Yahweh says concerning Jehoiakim the son of Josiah, king of Judah: “They won’t lament for him, saying, ‘Ah my brother!’ or, ‘Ah sister!’ They won’t lament for him, saying ‘Ah lord!’ or, ‘Ah his glory!’

ܩܒܘܪܬ ܚܡܪ ܢܬܩܒܪ ܘܢܓܪܘܢ ܢܫܕܘܢܗ ܠܗܠ ܡܢ ܬܪ̈ܥܝܗ̇ ܕܐܘܪܫܠܡ

He will be buried with the burial of a donkey, drawn and cast out beyond the gates of Jerusalem.”

ܣܩܝ ܠܠܒܢܢ ܘܐܙܥܩܝ ܘܒܡܬܢܝܢ ܐܪܝܡܝ ܩܠܟܝ ܘܐܙܥܩܝ ܡܢ ܥܒܪ̈ܝ ܝܡܐ ܕܐܬܬܒܪܘ ܟܠܗܘܢ ܪ̈ܚܡܝܟܝ
rkhmyky klhwn d'ththbrw ym' ebry mn w'zeqy qlky 'rymy wbmthnyn w'zeqy llbnn sqy
“Go up to Lebanon, and cry out. Lift up your voice in Bashan, and cry from Abarim; for all your lovers have been destroyed.

ܘܐܡܪܬ ܠܟܝ ܒܟܗܝܢܘܬܟܝ ܘܐܡܪܬܝ ܠܐ ܐܫܡܥ ܗܕܐ ܗܝ ܐܘܪܚܟܝ ܡܢ ܛܠܝܘܬܟܝ ܘܠܐ ܫܡܥܬܝ ܒܩܠܝ
bqly shmethy wl' Tlywthky mn 'wrkhky hy hd' 'shme l' w'mrthy bkhynwthky lky w'mrth
I spoke to you in your prosperity, but you said, ‘I will not listen.’ This has been your way from your youth, that you didn’t obey my voice.

ܠܟܠܗܘܢ ܪ̈ܥܘܬܟܝ ܬܪܥܐ ܐܢܘܢ ܪܘܚܐ ܘܪ̈ܚܡܝܟܝ ܒܫܒܝܐ ܢܐܙܠܘܢ ܘܗ̇ܝ ܕܝܢ ܬܒܗܬܝܢ ܘܬܬܟܣܝܢ ܡܢ ܟܠܗܝܢ ܒܝܫܬ̈ܟܝ
byshthky klhyn mn wththksyn thbhthyn dyn why n'zlwn bshby' wrkhmyky rwkh' 'nwn thre' rewthky lklhwn
The wind will feed all your shepherds, and your lovers will go into captivity. Surely then you will be ashamed and confounded for all your wickedness.

ܝܬܒܬ ܒܠܒܢܢ ܡܩܢܬ ܒܐܪ̈ܙܐ ܡܢܐ ܡܬܬܢܚܬܝ ܟܕ ܢܐܬܘܢ ܥܠܝܟܝ ܚܒ̈ܠܐ ܘܙܘܥܬܐ ܐܝܟ ܕܝܠܕܬܐ
dyldth' 'yk wzweth' khbl' elyky n'thwn kd mththnkhthy mn' b'rz' mqnth blbnn ythbth
Inhabitant of Lebanon, who makes your nest in the cedars, how greatly to be pitied you will be when pangs come on you, the pain as of a woman in travail!

ܚܝ ܐܢܐ ܐܡܪ ܡܪܝܐ ܐܠܗܐ ܐܢ ܢܗܘܐ ܝܘܟܢܝܐ ܒܪ ܝܘܝܩܝܡ ܡܠܟܐ ܕܝܗܘܕܐ ܚܬܡܐ ܥܠ ܐܝܕܝ ܕܝܡܝܢܐ ܐܠܐ ܡ̇ܢ ܬܡܢ ܐܥܩܪܟ
'eqrk thmn mn 'l' dymyn' 'ydy el khthm' dyhwd' mlk' ywyqym br ywkny' nhw' 'n 'lh' mry' 'mr 'n' khy
“As I live,” says Yahweh, “though Coniah the son of Jehoiakim king of Judah were the signet on my right hand, I would still pluck you from there.

ܘܐܫܠܡܟ ܒܝܕ ܐܢܫܐ ܐܝܠܝܢ ܕܒܥܝܢ ܢܦܫܟ ܘܒܝܕ ܐܝܠܝܢ ܕܕܚܠ ܐܢܬ ܡܢ ܩܕܡܝܗܘܢ ܒܐܝܕܐ ܕܢܒܘܟܕܢܨܪ ܡܠܟܐ ܕܒܒܠ ܘܒܐܝܕܐ ܕܟ̈ܠܕܝܐ

I would give you into the hand of those who seek your life, and into the hand of them of whom you are afraid, even into the hand of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, and into the hand of the Chaldeans.

ܘܐܫܕܝܟ ܠܟ ܘܠܐܡܟ ܕܝܠܕܬܟ ܠܐܪܥܐ ܐܚܪܬܐ ܕܠܐ ܐܬܝܠܕܬܘܢ ܬܡܢ ܘܬܡܢ ܬܡܘܬܘܢ
thmwthwn wthmn thmn 'thyldthwn dl' 'khrth' l're' dyldthk wl'mk lk w'shdyk
I will cast you out with your mother who bore you into another country, where you were not born; and there you will die.

ܘܠܐܪܥܐ ܕܣܒܪܢ ܢܦܫ̈ܬܟܘܢ ܠܡܗܦܟ ܠܬܡܢ ܠܐ ܬܗܦܟܘܢ

But to the land to which their soul longs to return, there they will not return.”

ܒܣܝܪܐ ܘܫܝܛܐ ܓܒܪܐ ܗܢܐ ܝܘܟܢܝܐ ܐܝܟ ܡܐܢܐ ܕܠܝܬ ܒܗ ܚܫܚܘ ܡܛܠ ܗܢܐ ܐܫܬܩܠ ܗܘ ܘܙܪܥܗ ܘܐܫܬܕܝܘ ܠܐܪܥܐ ܕܠܐ ܝܕܥܝܢ
ydeyn dl' l're' w'shthdyw wzreh hw 'shthql hn' mTl khshkhw bh dlyth m'n' 'yk ywkny' hn' gbr' wshyT' bsyr'
Is this man Coniah a despised broken vessel? Is he a vessel in which no one delights? Why are they cast out, he and his offspring, and cast into a land which they don’t know?

ܐܪܥܐ ܐܪܥܐ ܐܪܥܐ ܫܡܥܝ ܦܬܓܡܗ ܕܡܪܝܐ

O earth, earth, earth, hear Yahweh’s word!

ܗܟܢܐ ܐܡܪ ܡܪܝܐ ܟܘܬܒܘܗܝ ܠܓܒܪܐ ܗܢܐ ܡܟܪܙܐ ܕܠܐ ܒܢܝ̈ܢ ܡܛܠ ܕܓܒܪ̈ܐ ܒܝ̈ܘܡܬܗ ܠܐ ܢܨܠܚ ܡܢ ܙܪܥܗ ܓܒܪܐ ܕܝܬܒ ܥܠ ܟܘܪܣܝܗ ܕܕܘܝܕ ܘܡܫܬܠܛ ܬܘܒ ܒܝܗܘܕܐ
byhwd' thwb wmshthlT ddwyd kwrsyh el dythb gbr' zreh mn ntslkh l' bywmthh dgbr' mTl bnyn dl' mkrz' hn' lgbr' kwthbwhy mry' 'mr hkn'
Yahweh says, “Record this man as childless, a man who will not prosper in his days; for no more will a man of his offspring prosper, sitting on David’s throne and ruling in Judah.”
