ܚܛܝܬܗ ܕܝܗܘܕܐ ܟܬܝܒܐ ܒܩܢܝܐ ܕܦܪܙܠܐ ܘܒܛܦܪܐ ܕܫܡܝܪܐ ܘܪܫܝܡܐ ܥܠ ܠܘܚ̈ܐ ܕܠܒܗܘܢ ܘܥܠ ܩܪ̈ܢܬܐ ܕܡܕܒܚ̈ܝܗܘܢ
dmdbkhyhwn qrnth' wel dlbhwn lwkh' el wrshym' dshmyr' wbTpr' dprzl' bqny' kthyb' dyhwd' khTythh
“The sin of Judah is written with a pen of iron, and with the point of a diamond. It is engraved on the tablet of their heart, and on the horns of your altars.

ܡܐ ܕܡܬܕܟܪܝܢ ܒܠܒܗܘܢ ܡܕܒܚ̈ܝܗܘܢ ܘܕܚ̈ܠܬܗܘܢ ܬܚܝܬ ܟܘܠ ܐܝܠܢ ܕܥܒܝܛ ܘܥܠ ܟܠ ܪܡܬܐ ܕܪܡܐ

Even their children remember their altars and their Asherah poles by the green trees on the high hills.

ܘܒܛܘܪ̈ܐ ܘܒܕܒܪܐ ܢܟܣ̈ܝܟ ܘܟܠܗܘܢ ܓܙܝ̈ܟ ܘܬܚ̈ܘܡܝܟ ܠܒܙܬܐ ܐܬܠ ܡܛܠ ܚ̈ܛܗܝܟ

My mountain in the field, I will give your substance and all your treasures for a plunder, and your high places, because of sin, throughout all your borders.

ܘܐܥܒܪܟ ܡܢ ܝܪܬܘܬܟ ܕܝܗܒܬ ܠܟ ܘܐܫܥܒܕܟ ܠܒ̈ܥܠܕܒܒܝܟ ܒܐܪܥܐ ܕܠܐ ܝܕܥ ܐܢܬ ܡܛܠ ܕܢܘܪܐ ܐܩܕܚܬܘܢ ܒܪܘܓܙܝ ܥܕܡܐ ܠܥܠܡ ܬܐܩܕ

You, even of yourself, will discontinue from your heritage that I gave you. I will cause you to serve your enemies in the land which you don’t know, for you have kindled a fire in my anger which will burn forever.”

ܗܟܢܐ ܐܡܪ ܡܪܝܐ ܠܝܛ ܗܘ ܓܒܪܐ ܕܢܬܬܟܠ ܥܠ ܒܪܢܫܐ ܘܢܥܒܕ ܒܪ ܒܣܪܐ ܕܪܥܗ ܘܡܢ ܡܪܝܐ ܢܣܛܐ ܠܒܗ

Yahweh says: “Cursed is the man who trusts in man, relies on strength of flesh, and whose heart departs from Yahweh.

ܢܗܘܐ ܐܝܟ ܥܩܪܐ ܒܦܩܥܬܐ ܘܠܐ ܢܚܙܐ ܟܕ ܬܐܬܐ ܛܒܬܐ ܘܢܫܪܐ ܒܚ̈ܘܠܢܐ ܒܡܕܒܪܐ ܒܐܪܥܐ ܡܠܚܬܐ ܕܠܐ ܐܬܝܬܒܬ
'thythbth dl' mlkhth' b're' bmdbr' bkhwln' wnshr' Tbth' th'th' kd nkhz' wl' bpqeth' eqr' 'yk nhw'
For he will be like a bush in the desert, and will not see when good comes, but will inhabit the parched places in the wilderness, an uninhabited salt land.

ܒܪܝܟ ܗܘ ܓܒܪܐ ܕܢܬܬܟܠ ܥܠ ܡܪܝܐ ܘܢܗܘܐ ܡܪܝܐ ܬܘܟܠܢܗ

“Blessed is the man who trusts in Yahweh, and whose confidence is in Yahweh.

ܢܗܘܐ ܐܝܟ ܐܝܠܢܐ ܕܢܨܝܒ ܥܠ ܡ̈ܝܐ ܘܥܠ ܝܒܠܐ ܡܫܪܪ ܥܩܪ̈ܘܗܝ ܘܠܐ ܢܕܚܠ ܟܕ ܢܐܬܐ ܚܘܡܐ ܘܢܗܘܘܢ ܛܪ̈ܦܘܗܝ ܪܘܙܝܢ ܘܒܫܢܬܐ ܕܒܨܝܪ ܒܗ̇ ܡܛܪܐ ܠܐ ܢܕܚܠ ܘܠܐ ܢܬܒܨܪ ܡܢ ܕܠܡܥܒܕ ܦܐܪ̈ܐ

For he will be as a tree planted by the waters, who spreads out its roots by the river, and will not fear when heat comes, but its leaf will be green, and will not be concerned in the year of drought. It won’t cease from yielding fruit.

ܥܫܝܢ ܠܒܐ ܡܢ ܟܠ ܐܢܫܐ ܗܘ ܡܢܘ ܝܕܥ ܠܗ

The heart is deceitful above all things and it is exceedingly corrupt. Who can know it?

ܐܢܐ ܡܪܝܐ ܒܨܐ ܠܒܐ ܘܒܚܪ ܟܘ̈ܠܝܬܐ ܘܝܗܒ ܠܓܒܪܐ ܐܝܟ ܐܘܪ̈ܚܬܗ ܘܐܝܟ ܦܐܪ̈ܝ ܥܒ̈ܕܘܗܝ

“I, Yahweh, search the mind. I try the heart, even to give every man according to his ways, according to the fruit of his doings.”

ܐܝܟ ܚܓܠܐ ܕܩܪܐ ܠܐܝܠܝܢ ܕܠܐ ܝܠܕ ܗܟܢܐ ܡ̇ܢ ܕܩܢܐ ܥܘܬܪܐ ܕܠܐ ܒܕܝܢܐ ܒܦܠܓܘܬ ܝܘܡ̈ܘܗܝ ܢܫܒܩܝܘܗܝ ܘܚܪܬܗ ܬܗܘܐ ܡܨܥܪܐ
mtser' thhw' wkhrthh nshbqywhy ywmwhy bplgwth bdyn' dl' ewthr' dqn' mn hkn' yld dl' l'ylyn dqr' khgl' 'yk
As the partridge that sits on eggs which she has not laid, so is he who gets riches, and not by right. In the middle of his days, they will leave him. At his end, he will be a fool.

ܟܘܪܣܝܐ ܕܐܝܩܪܐ ܕܐܬܬܪܝܡ ܡܢ ܠܘܩܕܡ ܡܢ ܐܬܪܐ ܕܡܩܕܫܢ
dmqdshn 'thr' mn lwqdm mn d'ththrym d'yqr' kwrsy'
A glorious throne, set on high from the beginning, is the place of our sanctuary.

ܣܒܪܗ ܕܐܝܣܪܝܠ ܡܪܝܐ ܗܘ ܟܠ ܕܫܒܩܘܟ ܢܒܗܬܘܢ ܘܡܪ̈ܘܕܐ ܒܐܪܥܐ ܢܬܟܬܒܘܢ ܡܛܠ ܕܫܒܩܘ ܠܡܪܝܐ ܡܒܘܥܐ ܕܡ̈ܝܐ ܚ̈ܝܐ
khy' dmy' mbwe' lmry' dshbqw mTl nthkthbwn b're' wmrwd' nbhthwn dshbqwk kl hw mry' d'ysryl sbrh
Yahweh, the hope of Israel, all who forsake you will be disappointed. Those who depart from me will be written in the earth, because they have forsaken Yahweh, the spring of living waters.

ܐܣܢܝ ܡܪܝܐ ܘܐܬܐܣܐ ܦܪܘܩܝܢܝ ܘܐܬܦܪܩ ܡܛܠ ܕܬܫܒܘܚܬܝ ܐܢܬ ܗܘ
hw 'nth dthshbwkhthy mTl w'thprq prwqyny w'th's' mry' 'sny
Heal me, O Yahweh, and I will be healed. Save me, and I will be saved; for you are my praise.

ܗܐ ܗܢܘܢ ܐܡܪܝܢ ܠܝ ܐܝܟܐ ܗܘ ܦܬܓܡܗ ܕܡܪܝܐ ܢܐܬܐ ܗܫܐ
hsh' n'th' dmry' pthgmh hw 'yk' ly 'mryn hnwn h'
Behold, they ask me, “Where is Yahweh’s word? Let it be fulfilled now.”

ܘܐܢܐ ܒܒܝܫܬܐ ܠܐ ܦܫܬ ܡܢܟ ܐܢܬ ܝܕܥ ܐܢܬ ܕܝܘܡܗ ܕܒܪܢܫܐ ܠܐ ܪܓܬ ܘܡܕܡ ܕܢܦ̣ܩ ܡܢ ܣܦ̈ܘܬܝ ܩܕܡ ܐ̈ܦܝܟ ܗܘܐ
hw' 'pyk qdm spwthy mn dnpq wmdm rgth l' dbrnsh' dywmh 'nth yde 'nth mnk pshth l' bbyshth' w'n'
As for me, I have not hurried from being a shepherd after you. I haven’t desired the woeful day. You know. That which came out of my lips was before your face.

ܠܐ ܬܗܘܐ ܠܝ ܠܬܒܪܐ ܐܠܐ ܐܓܢ ܥܠܝ ܒܝܘܡܐ ܒܝܫܐ
bysh' bywm' ely 'gn 'l' lthbr' ly thhw' l'
Don’t be a terror to me. You are my refuge in the day of evil.

ܢܒܗܬܘܢ ܪ̈ܕܘܦܝ ܘܠܐ ܐܒܗܬ ܐܢܐ ܢܬܬܒܪܘܢ ܗܢܘܢ ܘܠܐ ܐܬܬܒܪ ܐܢܐ ܐܝܬܐ ܥܠܝܗܘܢ ܝܘܡܐ ܕܒܝܫܬܐ ܘܚܕ ܬܪ̈ܝܢ ܬܒܪܐ ܬܒܪ ܐܢܘܢ
'nwn thbr thbr' thryn wkhd dbyshth' ywm' elyhwn 'yth' 'n' 'ththbr wl' hnwn nththbrwn 'n' 'bhth wl' rdwpy nbhthwn
Let them be disappointed who persecute me, but don’t let me be disappointed. Let them be dismayed, but don’t let me be dismayed. Bring on them the day of evil, and destroy them with double destruction.

ܗܟܢܐ ܐܡܪ ܠܝ ܡܪܝܐ ܙܠ ܩܘܡ ܒܬܪܥܐ ܕܒܢ̈ܝ ܥܡܐ ܕܥܐܠܝܢ ܒܗ ܡ̈ܠܟܐ ܕܝܗܘܕܐ ܘܕܢܦܩܝܢ ܒܗ ܘܒܟܠܗܘܢ ܬܪ̈ܥܝܗ̇ ܕܐܘܪܫܠܡ
d'wrshlm threyh wbklhwn bh wdnpqyn dyhwd' mlk' bh de'lyn em' dbny bthre' qwm zl mry' ly 'mr hkn'
Yahweh said this to me: “Go and stand in the gate of the children of the people, through which the kings of Judah come in and by which they go out, and in all the gates of Jerusalem.

ܘܐܡܪ ܠܗܘܢ ܫܡܥܘ ܦܬܓܡܗ ܕܡܪܝܐ ܡ̈ܠܟܐ ܕܝܗܘܕܐ ܘܟܠܗ ܒܝܬ ܝܗܘܕܐ ܘܟܠܗܘܢ ܥܡܘܪ̈ܝܗ̇ ܕܐܘܪܫܠܡ ܕܥܐܠܝܢ ܒܬܪ̈ܥܐ ܗܠܝܢ
hlyn bthre' de'lyn d'wrshlm emwryh wklhwn yhwd' byth wklh dyhwd' mlk' dmry' pthgmh shmew lhwn w'mr
Tell them, ‘Hear Yahweh’s word, you kings of Judah, all Judah, and all the inhabitants of Jerusalem, that enter in by these gates:

ܗܟܢܐ ܐܡܪ ܡܪܝܐ ܐܙܕܗܪܘ ܒܢܦܫܟܘܢ ܘܠܐ ܬܫܩܠܘܢ ܫܩܘܠܬܐ ܒܝܘܡܐ ܕܫܒܬܐ ܘܬܥܠܘܢ ܒܬܪ̈ܥܝܗ̇ ܕܐܘܪܫܠܡ
d'wrshlm bthreyh wthelwn dshbth' bywm' shqwlth' thshqlwn wl' bnpshkwn 'zdhrw mry' 'mr hkn'
Yahweh says, “Be careful, and bear no burden on the Sabbath day, nor bring it in by the gates of Jerusalem.

ܘܠܐ ܬܦܩܘܢ ܫܩܘܠܬܐ ܡܢ ܒܬ̈ܝܟܘܢ ܒܝܘܡܐ ܕܫܒܬܐ ܘܟܠ ܥܒܕ ܠܐ ܬܥܒܕܘܢ ܘܬܩܕܫܘܢ ܝܘܡܐ ܕܫܒܬܐ ܐܝܟ ܕܦܩܕܬ ܠܐ̈ܒܗܝܟܘܢ
l'bhykwn dpqdth 'yk dshbth' ywm' wthqdshwn thebdwn l' ebd wkl dshbth' bywm' bthykwn mn shqwlth' thpqwn wl'
Don’t carry a burden out of your houses on the Sabbath day. Don’t do any work, but make the Sabbath day holy, as I commanded your fathers.

ܘܠܐ ܫܡܥܘ ܘܠܐ ܐܪܟܢܘ ܐܕܢܗܘܢ ܠܡܫܡܥ ܘܩܫܝܘ ܩܕܠܗܘܢ ܕܠܐ ܢܫܡܥܘܢ ܘܠܐ ܢܩܒܠܘܢ ܡܪܕܘܬܐ
mrdwth' nqblwn wl' nshmewn dl' qdlhwn wqshyw lmshme 'dnhwn 'rknw wl' shmew wl'
But they didn’t listen. They didn’t turn their ear, but made their neck stiff, that they might not hear, and might not receive instruction.

ܘܐܢ ܡܫܡܥ ܬܫܡܥܘܢܢܝ ܐܡܪ ܡܪܝܐ ܕܠܐ ܬܥܠܘܢ ܫܩܘܠܬܐ ܒܬܪ̈ܥܝܗ̇ ܕܩܪܝܬܐ ܗܕܐ ܒܝܘܡܐ ܕܫܒܬܐ ܘܬܩܕܫܘܢ ܝܘܡܐ ܕܫܒܬܐ ܘܠܐ ܬܥܒܕܘܢ ܒܗ ܟܠ ܥܒܕ
ebd kl bh thebdwn wl' dshbth' ywm' wthqdshwn dshbth' bywm' hd' dqryth' bthreyh shqwlth' thelwn dl' mry' 'mr thshmewnny mshme w'n
It will happen, if you diligently listen to me,” says Yahweh, “to bring in no burden through the gates of this city on the Sabbath day, but to make the Sabbath day holy, to do no work therein;

ܢܥܠܘܢ ܒܬܪ̈ܥܝܗ̇ ܕܩܪܝܬܐ ܗܕܐ ܡ̈ܠܟܐ ܘܪ̈ܘܪܒܢܐ ܕܝܬܒܝܢ ܥܠ ܟܘܪܣܝܗ ܕܕܘܝܕ ܟܕ ܪ̈ܟܝܒܝܢ ܒܡܪ̈ܟܒܬܐ ܘܒܪ̈ܟܫܐ ܗܢܘܢ ܘܪ̈ܘܪܒܢܝܗܘܢ ܘܓܒܪ̈ܐ ܕܝܗܘܕܐ ܘܥܡܘܪ̈ܝܗ̇ ܕܐܘܪܫܠܡ ܘܬܬܒ ܩܪܝܬܐ ܗܕܐ ܠܥܠܡ
lelm hd' qryth' wththb d'wrshlm wemwryh dyhwd' wgbr' wrwrbnyhwn hnwn wbrksh' bmrkbth' rkybyn kd ddwyd kwrsyh el dythbyn wrwrbn' mlk' hd' dqryth' bthreyh nelwn
then there will enter in by the gates of this city kings and princes sitting on David’s throne, riding in chariots and on horses, they and their princes, the men of Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem; and this city will remain forever.

ܘܢܐܬܘܢ ܡܢ ܩܘܪ̈ܝܐ ܕܝܗܘܕܐ ܘܡܢ ܚܕܪ̈ܝ ܐܘܪܫܠܡ ܘܡܢ ܐܪܥܐ ܕܒܢܝܡܝܢ ܘܡܢ ܦܩܥܬܐ ܘܡܢ ܛܘܪܐ ܘܡܢ ܬܝܡܢܐ ܕܡܝܬܝܢ ܕܒܚ̈ܐ ܘܩܘܪ̈ܒܢܐ ܘܠܒܘܢܬܐ ܘܡܝܬܝܢ ܬܘܕܝܬܐ ܠܒܝܬܗ ܕܡܪܝܐ
dmry' lbythh thwdyth' wmythyn wlbwnth' wqwrbn' dbkh' dmythyn thymn' wmn Twr' wmn pqeth' wmn dbnymyn 're' wmn 'wrshlm khdry wmn dyhwd' qwry' mn wn'thwn
They will come from the cities of Judah, and from the places around Jerusalem, from the land of Benjamin, from the lowland, from the hill country, and from the South, bringing burnt offerings, sacrifices, meal offerings, and frankincense, and bringing sacrifices of thanksgiving to Yahweh’s house.

ܘܐܠܐ ܬܫܡܥܘܢܢܝ ܠܡܩ̇ܕܫܘ ܝܘܡܐ ܕܫܒܬܐ ܕܠܐ ܬܫܩܠܘܢ ܫܩܘܠܬܐ ܘܬܥܠܘܢ ܒܬܪ̈ܥܝܗ̇ ܕܐܘܪܫܠܡ ܒܝܘܡܐ ܕܫܒܬܐ ܐܫܒܘܩ ܢܘܪܐ ܒܬܪ̈ܥܝܗ̇ ܘܬܐܟܘܠ ܣܚܪ̈ܬܗ ܕܐܘܪܫܠܡ ܘܠܐ ܬܕܥܟ
thdek wl' d'wrshlm skhrthh wth'kwl bthreyh nwr' 'shbwq dshbth' bywm' d'wrshlm bthreyh wthelwn shqwlth' thshqlwn dl' dshbth' ywm' lmqdshw thshmewnny w'l'
But if you will not listen to me to make the Sabbath day holy, and not to bear a burden and enter in at the gates of Jerusalem on the Sabbath day, then I will kindle a fire in its gates, and it will devour the palaces of Jerusalem. It will not be quenched.”’”
