והוה פתגם נבואה מן קדם יי עמי למימר:
lmymr emy yy qdm mn nbwah pthgm whwh
Then Yahweh’s word came to me, saying,
2
לא תסב לך אתתא ולא יהון לך בנין ובנן באתרא הדין:
hdyn bathra wbnn bnyn lk yhwn wla aththa lk thsb la
“You shall not take a wife, neither shall you have sons or daughters, in this place.”

ארי כדנן אמר יי על בנין ועל בנן דמתילדין באתרא הדין ועל אמתהון דילדין יתהון ועל אבהתהון דמולידין יתהון בארעא הדא:
hda barea ythhwn dmwlydyn abhthhwn wel ythhwn dyldyn amthhwn wel hdyn bathra dmthyldyn bnn wel bnyn el yy amr kdnn ary
For Yahweh says concerning the sons and concerning the daughters who are born in this place, and concerning their mothers who bore them, and concerning their fathers who became their father in this land:

ממת ממרעי כפן ימותון לא יסתפדון ולא יתקברון לזבל מבדר על אפי ארעא יהון ובחרבא ובכפנא יסופון ותהי נבלתהון משגרא למיכל לעופא דשמיא ולבעירא דארעא:
darea wlbeyra dshmya lewpa lmykl mshgra nblthhwn wthhy yswpwn wbkpna wbkhrba yhwn area apy el mbdr lzbl ythqbrwn wla ysthpdwn la ymwthwn kpn mmrey mmth
“They will die grievous deaths. They will not be lamented, neither will they be buried. They will be as dung on the surface of the ground. They will be consumed by the sword and by famine. Their dead bodies will be food for the birds of the sky and for the animals of the earth.”

ארי כדנן אמר יי לא תעול לבית מרזחא ולא תהך למספד ולא תדני להון ארי כנשית ית שלמי מן עמא הדין אמר יי ית חסדא וית רחמי:
rkhmy wyth khsda yth yy amr hdyn ema mn shlmy yth knshyth ary lhwn thdny wla lmspd thhk wla mrzkha lbyth thewl la yy amr kdnn ary
For Yahweh says, “Don’t enter into the house of mourning. Don’t go to lament. Don’t bemoan them, for I have taken away my peace from this people,” says Yahweh, “even loving kindness and tender mercies.

וימותון רברבין ודעדקין בארעא הדא לא יתקברון ולא יספדון להון ולא יתחממון ולא ימרטון להון:
lhwn ymrTwn wla ythkhmmwn wla lhwn yspdwn wla ythqbrwn la hda barea wdedqyn rbrbyn wymwthwn
Both great and small will die in this land. They will not be buried. Men won’t lament for them, cut themselves, or make themselves bald for them.

ולא יפרסון להון על אבלא לנחמותהון על מיתא ולא ישקון יתהון כס תנחומין גבר על אבוהי ועל אמיה:
amyh wel abwhy el gbr thnkhwmyn ks ythhwn yshqwn wla mytha el lnkhmwthhwn abla el lhwn yprswn wla
Men won’t break bread for them in mourning, to comfort them for the dead. Men won’t give them the cup of consolation to drink for their father or for their mother.

ובית אסחרותא לא תעול לאסחרא עמהון למיכל ולמשתי:
wlmshthy lmykl emhwn laskhra thewl la askhrwtha wbyth
“You shall not go into the house of feasting to sit with them, to eat and to drink.”

ארי כדנן אמר יי צבאות אלהא דישראל הא אנא מבטל מן אתרא הדין לעיניכון וביומיכון קל ביע וקל חדוא קל חתנין וקל כלן:
kln wql khthnyn ql khdwa wql bye ql wbywmykwn leynykwn hdyn athra mn mbTl ana ha dyshral alha tsbawth yy amr kdnn ary
For Yahweh of Armies, the God of Israel says: “Behold, I will cause to cease out of this place, before your eyes and in your days, the voice of mirth and the voice of gladness, the voice of the bridegroom and the voice of the bride.

ויהי ארי תחוי לעמא הדין ית כל פתגמיא האלין וימרון לך על מה גזר יי עלנא ית קל בישתא רבתא הדא ומה חובנא ומה סורחננא דחבנא קדם יי אלהנא:
alhna yy qdm dkhbna swrkhnna wmh khwbna wmh hda rbtha byshtha ql yth elna yy gzr mh el lk wymrwn halyn pthgmya kl yth hdyn lema thkhwy ary wyhy
It will happen, when you tell this people all these words, and they ask you, ‘Why has Yahweh pronounced all this great evil against us?’ or ‘What is our iniquity?’ or ‘What is our sin that we have committed against Yahweh our God?’

ותימר להון על דשבקו אבהתכון פולחני אמר יי וטעו בתר טעות עממיא ופלחונון וסגידו להון ופולחני שבקו וית אוריתי לא נטרו:
nTrw la awrythy wyth shbqw wpwlkhny lhwn wsgydw wplkhwnwn emmya Tewth bthr wTew yy amr pwlkhny abhthkwn dshbqw el lhwn wthymr
then you shall tell them, ‘Because your fathers have forsaken me,’ says Yahweh, ‘and have walked after other gods, have served them, have worshiped them, have forsaken me, and have not kept my law.

ואתון אבאשתון למעבד מאבהתכון והא אתון אזלין גבר בתר הרהור לביה בישא בדיל דלא לקבלא למימרי:
lmymry lqbla dla bdyl bysha lbyh hrhwr bthr gbr azlyn athwn wha mabhthkwn lmebd abashthwn wathwn
You have done evil more than your fathers, for behold, you each walk after the stubbornness of his evil heart, so that you don’t listen to me.

ואטלטל יתכון מעל ארעא הדא לארעא דלא ידעתון אתון ואבהתכון ותפלחון תמן לעממיא פלחי טעותא ימם ולילי דלא יהי לכון רחמין:
rkhmyn lkwn yhy dla wlyly ymm Tewtha plkhy lemmya thmn wthplkhwn wabhthkwn athwn ydethwn dla larea hda area mel ythkwn waTlTl
Therefore I will cast you out of this land into the land that you have not known, neither you nor your fathers. There you will serve other gods day and night, for I will show you no favor.’

בכן הא יומיא אתאן אמר יי ולא יהון משתען עוד בגבורתא דיי דאסיק ית בני ישראל מארעא דמצרים:
dmtsrym marea yshral bny yth dasyq dyy bgbwrtha ewd mshthen yhwn wla yy amr athan ywmya ha bkn
“Therefore behold, the days come,” says Yahweh, “that it will no more be said, ‘As Yahweh lives, who brought up the children of Israel out of the land of Egypt;’

אלהן יהון משתען בגבורתא דיי דאסיק ית בני ישראל מארעא צפונא ומכל מדינתא דאגלינון לתמן ואתיבינון לארעהון דיהבית לאבהתהון:
labhthhwn dyhbyth larehwn wathybynwn lthmn daglynwn mdyntha wmkl tspwna marea yshral bny yth dasyq dyy bgbwrtha mshthen yhwn alhn
but, ‘As Yahweh lives, who brought up the children of Israel from the land of the north, and from all the countries where he had driven them.’ I will bring them again into their land that I gave to their fathers.

הא אנא שלח לעממין קטולין אמר יי ויקטלונון ובתר כן אשלח לסגיאין צידין ויצדונון מעל כל כל טור ומעל כל רמתא ומשקיפי כיפיא:
kypya wmshqypy rmtha kl wmel Twr kl kl mel wytsdwnwn tsydyn lsgyayn ashlkh kn wbthr wyqTlwnwn yy amr qTwlyn lemmyn shlkh ana ha
“Behold, I will send for many fishermen,” says Yahweh, “and they will fish them up. Afterward I will send for many hunters, and they will hunt them from every mountain, from every hill, and out of the clefts of the rocks.

ארי קדמי גלן כל אורחתהון לא מסתרן מן קדמי ולא מטמרן חוביהון מלקביל מימרי:
mymry mlqbyl khwbyhwn mTmrn wla qdmy mn msthrn la awrkhthhwn kl gln qdmy ary
For my eyes are on all their ways. They are not hidden from my face. Their iniquity isn’t concealed from my eyes.

ואשלם לתנינין כקדמאין על חד תרין חוביהון וחטאיהון על דאחילו ית ארע בית שכנתי בנבלת שקוציהון ותועבתהון מלו ית אחסנתי:
akhsnthy yth mlw wthwebthhwn shqwtsyhwn bnblth shknthy byth are yth dakhylw el wkhTayhwn khwbyhwn thryn khd el kqdmayn lthnynyn washlm
First I will recompense their iniquity and their sin double, because they have polluted my land with the carcasses of their detestable things, and have filled my inheritance with their abominations.”

יי תוקפי ורוחצני ומשיזבי בעדן עקא לשמע גבורתך עממין ייתון מסיפי ארעא וימרון ברם לשקרא פלחו אבהתנא ללמא ולית בהון הנאה:
hnah bhwn wlyth llma abhthna plkhw lshqra brm wymrwn area msypy yythwn emmyn gbwrthk lshme eqa bedn wmshyzby wrwkhtsny thwqpy yy
Yahweh, my strength, my stronghold, and my refuge in the day of affliction, the nations will come to you from the ends of the earth, and will say, “Our fathers have inherited nothing but lies, vanity and things in which there is no profit.

האפשר דיעבד ליה אנש דחלן ואינון טעון דלית בהון צרוך:
tsrwk bhwn dlyth Tewn waynwn dkhln ansh lyh dyebd hapshr
Should a man make to himself gods which yet are no gods?”
21
בכן הא אנא מחוי להון בזמנא הדא אחוינון ית פורענותי וית מחת גבורתי וידעון ארי שמי יי:
yy shmy ary wydewn gbwrthy mkhth wyth pwrenwthy yth akhwynwn hda bzmna lhwn mkhwy ana ha bkn
“Therefore behold, I will cause them to know, this once I will cause them to know my hand and my might. Then they will know that my name is Yahweh.”
