ܦܬܓܡܐ ܕܗܘܐ ܥܠ ܐܪܡܝܐ ܡܢ ܩܕܡ ܡܪܝܐ ܠܡܐܡܪ

The word that came to Jeremiah from Yahweh, saying,

ܫܡܥܘ ܦܬ̈ܓܡܝ ܩܝܡܐ ܗܢܐ ܘܐܡܪ ܠܓܒܪ̈ܐ ܕܝܗܘܕܐ ܘܠܥܡܘܪ̈ܝܗ̇ ܕܐܘܪܫܠܡ
shmew pthgmy qym' hn' w'mr lgbr' dyhwd' wlemwryh d'wrshlm
“Hear the words of this covenant, and speak to the men of Judah, and to the inhabitants of Jerusalem;

ܐܡܪ ܠܗܘܢ ܗܟܢܐ ܐܡܪ ܡܪܝܐ ܚܝܠܬܢܐ ܐܠܗܐ ܕܐܝܣܪܝܠ ܠܝܛ ܗܘ ܓܒܪܐ ܕܠܐ ܢܫܡܥ ܦܬ̈ܓܡܝ ܩܝܡܐ ܗܢܐ
'mr lhwn hkn' 'mr mry' khylthn' 'lh' d'ysryl lyT hw gbr' dl' nshme pthgmy qym' hn'
and say to them, Yahweh, the God of Israel says: ‘Cursed is the man who doesn’t hear the words of this covenant,

ܕܦܩܕܬ ܠܐ̈ܒܗܝܟܘܢ ܒܝܘܡܐ ܕܐܦܩܬ ܐܢܘܢ ܡܢ ܐܪܥܐ ܕܡܨܪܝܢ ܡܢ ܟܘܪܐ ܕܦܪܙܠܐ ܘܐܡܪܬ ܫܡܥܘ ܒܩܠܝ ܘܬܥܒܕܘܢ ܐܢܬܘܢ ܟܠ ܕܐܦܩܕܟܘܢ ܘܬܗܘܘܢ ܠܝ ܥܡܐ ܘܐܢܐ ܐܗܘܐ ܠܟܘܢ ܐܠܗܐ

which I commanded your fathers in the day that I brought them out of the land of Egypt, out of the iron furnace,’ saying, ‘Obey my voice and do them, according to all which I command you; so you shall be my people, and I will be your God;

ܘܐܩܝܡ ܡܘܡ̈ܬܐ ܕܝܡܝܬ ܠܐ̈ܒܗܝܟܘܢ ܠܡܬܠ ܠܟܘܢ ܐܪܥܐ ܕܡܪܕܝܐ ܚܠܒܐ ܘܕܒܫܐ ܐܝܟ ܕܝܘܡܢܐ ܘܥܢܝܬ ܘܐܡܪܬ ܐܡܝܢ ܡܪܝܐ
w'qym mwmth' dymyth l'bhykwn lmthl lkwn 're' dmrdy' khlb' wdbsh' 'yk dywmn' wenyth w'mrth 'myn mry'
that I may establish the oath which I swore to your fathers, to give them a land flowing with milk and honey,’ as it is today.” Then I answered, and said, “Amen, Yahweh.”

ܘܐܡܪ ܠܝ ܡܪܝܐ ܩܪܝ ܟܘܠܗܘܢ ܦܬ̈ܓܡܐ ܗܠܝܢ ܒܩܘܪ̈ܝܐ ܕܝܗܘܕܐ ܘܒܫ̈ܘܩܝܗ̇ ܕܐܘܪܫܠܡ ܘܐܡܪ ܫܡܥܘ ܦܬ̈ܓܡܐ ܕܕܝܬܩܐ ܗܕܐ ܘܬܥܒܕܘܢ ܐܢܘܢ

Yahweh said to me, “Proclaim all these words in the cities of Judah, and in the streets of Jerusalem, saying, ‘Hear the words of this covenant, and do them.

ܡܛܠ ܕܡܣܗܕܘ ܣܗܕܬ ܒܐ̈ܒܗܝܟܘܢ ܒܝܘܡܐ ܕܐܣܩܬ ܐܢܘܢ ܡܢ ܐܪܥܐ ܕܡܨܪܝܢ ܘܥܕܡܐ ܠܝܘܡܢܐ ܩܕܡܬ ܘܫܕܪܬ ܘܐܡܪܬ ܫܡܥܘ ܒܩܠܝ
mTl dmshdw shdth b'bhykwn bywm' d'sqth 'nwn mn 're' dmtsryn wedm' lywmn' qdmth wshdrth w'mrth shmew bqly
For I earnestly protested to your fathers in the day that I brought them up out of the land of Egypt, even to this day, rising early and protesting, saying, “Obey my voice.”

ܘܠܐ ܫܡܥܘ ܘܠܐ ܐܪܟܢܘ ܐܕܢܗܘܢ ܘܗܠܟܘ ܓܒܪ ܒܨܒܝ̈ܢܝ ܠܒܗܘܢ ܒܝܫܐ ܘܐܝܬܝܬ ܥܠܝܗܘܢ ܟܠ ܦܬ̈ܓܡܝ ܩܝܡܐ ܗܢܐ ܕܦܩܕܬ ܠܡܫܡܥ ܘܠܐ ܫܡܥܘ
wl' shmew wl' 'rknw 'dnhwn whlkw gbr btsbyny lbhwn bysh' w'ythyth elyhwn kl pthgmy qym' hn' dpqdth lmshme wl' shmew
Yet they didn’t obey, nor turn their ear, but everyone walked in the stubbornness of their evil heart. Therefore I brought on them all the words of this covenant, which I commanded them to do, but they didn’t do them.’”

ܘܐܡܪ ܠܝ ܡܪܝܐ ܐܫܬܟܚ ܡܪܕܐ ܒܓܒܪ̈ܐ ܕܝܗܘܕܐ ܘܒܥܡܘܪ̈ܝܗ̇ ܕܐܘܪܫܠܡ

Yahweh said to me, “A conspiracy is found among the men of Judah, and among the inhabitants of Jerusalem.

ܬܒܘ ܠܚ̈ܛܗܐ ܕܐ̈ܒܗܝܗܘܢ ܩ̈ܕܡܝܐ ܘܠܐ ܨܒܘ ܠܡܫܡܥ ܦܬ̈ܓܡܝ ܘܗܢܘܢ ܐܙܠܘ ܒܬܪ ܐ̈ܠܗܐ ܐ̈ܚܪܢܐ ܠܡܦܠܚ ܐܢܘܢ ܘܒܛܠܘ ܒܢ̈ܝ ܐܝܣܪܝܠ ܘܒ̈ܢܝ ܝܗܘܕܐ ܕܝܬܩܐ ܕܝܠܝ ܕܐܩܝܡܬ ܥܡ ܐ̈ܒܗܝܗܘܢ

They have turned back to the iniquities of their forefathers, who refused to hear my words. They have gone after other gods to serve them. The house of Israel and the house of Judah have broken my covenant which I made with their fathers.

ܡܛܠ ܗܢܐ ܗܟܢܐ ܐܡܪ ܡܪܝܐ ܚܝܠܬܢܐ ܗܐ ܡܝܬܐ ܐܢܐ ܥܠܝܗܘܢ ܒܝܫܬܐ ܕܠܐ ܢܫܟܚܘܢ ܠܡܦܩ ܡܢܗ̇ ܘܢܓܥܘܢ ܠܘܬܝ ܘܠܐ ܐܫܡܥ ܐܢܘܢ

Therefore Yahweh says, ‘Behold, I will bring evil on them which they will not be able to escape; and they will cry to me, but I will not listen to them.

ܘ̈ܢܐܙܠܢ ܩܘܪ̈ܝܐ ܕܝܗܘܕܐ ܘܥܡܘܪ̈ܝܗ̇ ܕܐܘܪܫܠܡ ܘܢܓܥܘܢ ܠܘܬ ܐ̈ܠܗܐ ܕܣܝܡܝܢ ܗܘܘ ܠܗܘܢ ܒܣ̈ܡܐ ܘܡܦܪܩ ܠܐ ܢܦܪܩܘܢ ܐܢܘܢ ܒܙܒܢܐ ܕܒܝܫܬܗܘܢ
wn'zln qwry' dyhwd' wemwryh d'wrshlm wngewn lwth 'lh' dsymyn hww lhwn bsm' wmprq l' nprqwn 'nwn bzbn' dbyshthhwn
Then the cities of Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem will go and cry to the gods to which they offer incense, but they will not save them at all in the time of their trouble.

ܡܛܠ ܕܐܝܟ ܡܢܝܢܐ ܕܩܘܪ̈ܝܝܟ ܗܘܘ ܐ̈ܠܗܝܟ ܝܗܘܕܐ ܡܢܝܢܐ ܕܫܘ̈ܩܝܗ̇ ܕܐܘܪܫܠܡ ܣܡܬܘܢ ܡܕܒ̈ܚܐ ܠܒܗܬܬܐ ܡܕܒܚ̈ܐ ܠܡܣܡ ܒܣ̈ܡܐ ܠܒܥܠܐ
mTl d'yk mnyn' dqwryyk hww 'lhyk yhwd' mnyn' dshwqyh d'wrshlm smthwn mdbkh' lbhthth' mdbkh' lmsm bsm' lbel'
For according to the number of your cities are your gods, Judah; and according to the number of the streets of Jerusalem you have set up altars to the shameful thing, even altars to burn incense to Baal.’

ܘܐܢܬ ܠܐ ܬܨܠܐ ܥܠ ܥܡܐ ܗܢܐ ܘܠܐ ܬܒܥܐ ܥܠܝܗܘܢ ܒܥܘܬܐ ܘܨܠܘܬܐ ܡܛܠ ܕܠܐ ܫܡܥ ܐܢܐ ܒܙܒܢܐ ܕܩܪܝܢ ܠܝ ܒܙܒܢ ܒܝܫܬܗܘܢ

“Therefore don’t pray for this people. Don’t lift up cry or prayer for them; for I will not hear them in the time that they cry to me because of their trouble.

ܠܡܢܐ ܚܒܝܒܬܝ̈ ܒܒܝܬܝ ܥܒܕܬܝ ܛܢܦܘܬܐ ܣܓܝܐܬܐ ܘܒܣܪ ܩܘܕܫܐ ܢܥܒܪܘܢ ܡܢܟܝ ܡܛܠ ܒܝܫܬܟܝ ܕܥܫܢܬ
lmn' khbybthy bbythy ebdthy Tnpwth' sgy'th' wbsr qwdsh' nebrwn mnky mTl byshthky deshnth
What has my beloved to do in my house, since she has behaved lewdly with many, and the holy flesh has passed from you? When you do evil, then you rejoice.”

ܙܝܬܐ ܥܒܝܛܐ ܫܦܝܪ ܦܐܪܐ ܘܫܦܝܪ ܚܙܘܐ ܩܪܐ ܡܪܝܐ ܫܡܟܝ ܠܩܠܐ ܕܓܙܝܪܬܐ ܪܒܬܐ ܫܒܘܩܘ ܢܘܪܐ ܥܠܝܗ̇ ܘܬܚܒܠ ܣ̈ܘܟܝܗ̇
zyth' ebyT' shpyr p'r' wshpyr khzw' qr' mry' shmky lql' dgzyrth' rbth' shbwqw nwr' elyh wthkhbl swkyh
Yahweh called your name, “A green olive tree, beautiful with goodly fruit.” With the noise of a great roar he has kindled fire on it, and its branches are broken.

ܘܡܪܝܐ ܨܒܐܘܬ ܕܢܨܒܟܝ ܡܠܠ ܥܠܝܟܝ ܒܝܫܬܐ ܡܛܠ ܒܝܫܘܬܐ ܕܒܝܬ ܐܝܣܪܝܠ ܘܕܒܝܬ ܝܗܘܕܐ ܕܥܒܕܘ ܠܗܘܢ ܠܡܪܓܙܘܬܢܝ ܠܡܣܡ ܒܣܡ̈ܐ ܠܒܥܠܐ
wmry' tsb'wth dntsbky mll elyky byshth' mTl byshwth' dbyth 'ysryl wdbyth yhwd' debdw lhwn lmrgzwthny lmsm bsm' lbel'
For Yahweh of Armies, who planted you, has pronounced evil against you, because of the evil of the house of Israel and of the house of Judah, which they have done to themselves in provoking me to anger by offering incense to Baal.

ܡܪܝܐ ܚܘܢܝ ܘܐܕܥ ܫܪܝܪܐܝܬ ܚܘܝܬܢܝ ܥܒ̈ܕܝܗܘܢ
mry' khwny w'de shryr'yth khwythny ebdyhwn
Yahweh gave me knowledge of it, and I knew it. Then you showed me their doings.

ܘܐܢܐ ܐܝܟ ܐܡܪܐ ܒܪܝܪܐ ܕܡܬܕܒܪ ܠܢܟܣܬܐ ܘܠܐ ܝܕܥܬ ܕܥܠܝ ܐܬܚܫܒܘ ܡܚܫܒܬܐ ܘܐܡܪܘ ܢܚܒܠ ܩܝܣܐ ܒܠܚܡܗ ܘܢܘܒܕܝܘܗܝ ܡܢ ܐܪܥܐ ܕܚ̈ܝܐ ܘܫܡܗ ܬܘܒ ܠܐ ܢܬܕܟܪ

But I was like a gentle lamb that is led to the slaughter. I didn’t know that they had devised plans against me, saying, “Let’s destroy the tree with its fruit, and let’s cut him off from the land of the living, that his name may be no more remembered.”

ܘܡܪܝܐ ܚܝܠܬܢܐ ܕܝܢܐ ܕܩܘܫܬܐ ܒܚܪ ܟܘ̈ܠܝܬܐ ܘܠܒܐ ܐܚܙܐ ܦܘܪܥܢܟ ܡܢܗܘܢ ܡܛܠ ܕܠܟ ܓܠܝܬ ܕܝܢ̈ܝ
wmry' khylthn' dyn' dqwshth' bkhr kwlyth' wlb' 'khz' pwrenk mnhwn mTl dlk glyth dyny
But, Yahweh of Armies, who judges righteously, who tests the heart and the mind, I will see your vengeance on them; for to you I have revealed my cause.

ܡܛܠ ܗܢܐ ܗܟܢܐ ܐܡܪ ܡܪܝܐ ܥܠ ܐܢܫ̈ܝ ܥܢܬܘܬ ܕܒܥܝܢ ܢܦܫܟ ܘܐܡܪܝܢ ܠܐ ܬܬܢܒܐ ܒܫܡܗ ܕܡܪܝܐ ܕܠܐ ܬܡܘܬ ܒܐ̈ܝܕܝܢ

“Therefore Yahweh says concerning the men of Anathoth, who seek your life, saying, ‘You shall not prophesy in Yahweh’s name, that you not die by our hand’—

ܡܛܠ ܗܢܐ ܗܟܢܐ ܐܡܪ ܡܪܝܐ ܨܒܐܘܬ ܗܐ ܦܩܕ ܐܢܐ ܥܠܝܗܘܢ ܥܠܝܡ̈ܐ ܢܡܘܬܘܢ ܒܚܪܒܐ ܘܒܢܝ̈ܗܘܢ ܘܒ̈ܢܬܗܘܢ ܢܡܘܬܘܢ ܒܟܦܢܐ
mTl hn' hkn' 'mr mry' tsb'wth h' pqd 'n' elyhwn elym' nmwthwn bkhrb' wbnyhwn wbnthhwn nmwthwn bkpn'
therefore Yahweh of Armies says, ‘Behold, I will punish them. The young men will die by the sword. Their sons and their daughters will die by famine.

ܘܚܪܬܐ ܠܐ ܬܗܘܐ ܠܗܘܢ ܡܛܠ ܕܡܝܬܐ ܐܢܐ ܒܝܫܬܐ ܥܠ ܐܢ̈ܫܝ ܥܢܬܘܬ ܫܢܬܐ ܕܦܘܩܕܢܗܘܢ
wkhrth' l' thhw' lhwn mTl dmyth' 'n' byshth' el 'nshy enthwth shnth' dpwqdnhwn
There will be no remnant to them, for I will bring evil on the men of Anathoth, even the year of their visitation.’”
